[OOC] Heroes of Beacon - the Next Chapter

@PyroDash888 interesting, interesting. And how do you feel this affects Skyra's abilities as a whole? Why change from a gun to a bow, and how would it be an upgrade for her? I imagine that go the route of Hawkeye and gain some mad aim with her bow as well as a variety of trick arrows to control the battlefield. Some CC stuff like smoke, flash, oil slicks, or even entanglement could be additional ways for Skyra to increase her strength and utility.

Well, yeah. But for now, she is still primarily a close combat Damage Dealer. Especially since her semblance is pretty much... very limited to close range...
I feel it will be a gradual change. She won't just be able to snipe every bad motherfucker from the get go.
But I guess what you mentioned is probably the long term goal.
She barely uses her guns right now because she feels they are useless, since they can't hit anything unless you are already close to the enemy. And then you could just as well slice them with the swords.

Yeah, I thought of that. I don't think it'd be very far fetched to twist her semblance in a way that, instead of accelerating her swords around her that she would be able to boost an arrow away from her. Either that or it'd give her a boost in draw weight, which directly translates into the speed of the projectile.

Two blades that can connect at the hilt to form a bow, keeping her own quiver of dust-tipped arrows and such. Uses her semblance for long-range support. Oh, and I guess that since she can combined her two blades together, she can also use it as a sort of bladed staff if she holds it by the middle. Lots of twirls and dervishing me thinks. It'd certainly seem like a RWBY weapon.

Hmm. Possibly, as part of Gren's own research into utilizing Aura as an energy source. Of course he could also just help Emerald allow her cannon to shoot either the concentrated blast of aura or rockets, depending on what sort of a boom Emerald is looking for. If you're looking for just some anti-personal explosions, Gren could probs rig up something onto her shotguns without needing the cannon. But if you're big-gaming hunting, then yeah, he'll figure something out. Can't promise that it'll have too many shots, two at best, one from each shotgun. After that Emerald would need to use her aura again. Gren's own rockets are for large targets that aren't hard to hit, or still targets who won't be fast enough to avoid the explosions, since Gren isn't going to bother to hit enemies directly with the rocket itself but catch them in the splash. If Emerald and Gren meet up for these upgrades he'll probs give her pointers about this too.

Oh, or, OR! He could try to adjust Emerald's new upgrades to be guided missiles. Makes it a bit easier for her to fire-and-forget once she gets a lock on them. Being precision based weapons, she ought to make sure each shot counts for something.

The mattered has been sorted out. The new arrival has graciously agreed to back out for now, and Plank's character will take the empty slot as planned.

@Plank Sinatra Not to make everyone mad at me (expecting it to happen but not looking for a fight, this is a simple inquiry) but as we are forming a new team made of up primarily new players wouldn't it be better to give the fourth slot to a new prospective member that wants it rather than farming it out to someone who already has the chance to participate in this RP? It is also shattering one of the rules you Lug laid down at around OOC Page 500 about RPers not having more than one student PC. I mean if it was between Plank and having to leave the spot empty of course it should be filled but someone was found to fill the spot and they were asked to leave to make room for Plank despite you already having Lorena to use in the RP.

Maybe Team STRG and SASG ought to get together and do some team building. Gren, Grane, Abel, and Trad on one team, Sapphire, Shiro, Sand, and Robert on another. We'll call it Force And Fineness!

To be fair, Gren's current findings on his research is a consistent way of exploding himself out of the armory. It'll be some time before he's figured out the quirks of this research, which in all honestly he'll probably just steal/work off what others have already accomplished as oppose to figuring it out all himself. He may have not invented the wheel, but he can still use it for his own ends.

I ain't a GM, so it isn't really my call about stuff like that. Plus, IC it's Gren who has to figure out how to make it work. Like robot arms they already exist, now it's just a matter of making one himself. Possibly somewhat more difficult since for once Gren using looking to use Aura to power a weapon, but to fuel an engine.

Eeeeeh I mean, true that Grane might be a bit more precise then Shiro's more "Put everyone you got in it" type of style, but my true angle was Leaders + Their Problem Children vs Big Guys and their Responsible Sibling. Sapphire and Sand having to quickly figure out how to coordinate with their keet and emo members before they get flatten into paste by their bigger, tankier, generally more straight forward and less dramatic/emotionally stoic members of their party.
