Project Olympia

You are a college student. You are broke. You have bills to pay. He is offering you a good sum to participate in an experiment. You read the briefing, something about seeing the effects of vitamins with added chemicals and how they affect a person based on gender. Several male and female college students will be called to partake, and you think nothing of it. It's money, right? Wrong. The Scientist is Professor Finn Rohrbach, a scientist from Germany, and he has discovered a rare element that, when combined with certain chemicals, can give beings incredible powers. The rats Rohrbach tested with all developed incredible powers and he now wants to push forward and test on human subjects. When the subjects consume their picked pills, they gain powers within the next few days and are required to stay in Rohrbach's lab. After their powers begin to surface, Rohrbach is forced to reveal his true intentions. He had hand picked them, wanting to build a team of superheroes to fight crime. Having lost his wife to a murderer, Rohrbach has a few reasons to want to see justice served but has always been too scared to do so himself. Promising the students that he would help change them back if he helped them, he got them to form a group and told them they could find their own missions to complete and Rohrbach would also send them missions to go on. He also told them to come back periodically to get a check up with him.

There are several pills, one for each participant. For this RP to work, we need to get a few RPers and then start, once we start, it will be very hard for others to join in later. I may let one or two slip in after start up in IC, but that would be it. My max number will be 10. This means that I will absolutely stop after 10 players but I may stop well before 10 if I feel that we won't get many more. My minimum is three, four including myself. The way the pills will work is, you will make a list of 2-3 powers that you wouldn't mind playing. When you make a CS, you will have a section to say which pill your character took. I will randomly assign colors to these powers and make a list of colors for you all to choose from. And so, when you post your CS, I will tell you which power you got. You may only change your power ONCE and when you ask for a change, I will choose from the list myself. After that, you're stuck with what you got.

Rules

1) Be kind. 2) Be respectful. 3) GM's word is final. 4) Character limit per role-player is ONE. NPCs will be played as needed by the RPers themselves. 5) Usual RPGuild rules. PG-13, Fade to black, no goddmodding. You should be used to it. If you're new to the site, just PM me and I'll let you know the 'what not to do's. 6) GM has the right to change the rules anytime they see fit. **7)This is in the Casual section. She tends to want to give people what they need and ask nothing in return, which often leaves her broke, and then winds up needing money bad, but somehow it always works out for her. Background: Veronica is majoring in Business, and actually owns her own store, a small cafe called "The Fresh Pot". The cafe is relatively successful, but Veronica usually winds up giving most of her profits to charity. On the most recent occasion, she didn't leave herself enough money to pay her rent, which is why she took the professor's offer. CS Skeleton

Name: Orion Striphe Age: 21 Gender: Male Personality: Cold, brisk, and sharp are the three words that describes him. He's generally abrupt to most strangers, and even colder to those he dislikes. It will take a while for you to warm up to him, and vice versa. Generally keeps an aloof behavior, and never allows emotion to cloud his eyes. Can be rather teasing, however, when it suits him, and rather lazy as well. Incredibly intelligent, and skilled when he feels that it requires it. When interacting with those younger than him; children, basically, Orion will usually be kind and older-brotherly, treating them with kindness that belies his usually personality of distance and apathy. However, despite all of this, he has a relatively warm heart with friends, and when among those he likes, he cracks the occasional joke, and can even give helpful, wise advice. Background: Orion went to college to major in Visual and Performance Arts. He possesses a lean, muscular figure, and he's rather good at a variety of dancing and acrobatics - despite his usual appearance of coats and hoodies. He is a quickly advancing young man in the art of capoeira; mostly because of his flexibility and the way swaying and flipping/break-dancing comes easy to him. In general, he had a nice life ahead of him...if only he didn't hit that bottom. Loan sharks, basically. Damn mom apparently sent them his way, since he didn't be a lawyer like she wanted. Whatever. He ended up broke, and this...this would help, the man said. So...why not? He should have been more vigilant. Chosen Pill Color: Black. I was going to write out this whole shpeel about the villain character and such but I've decided to revise the plot of the RP a bit. So, uh... pay attention. So, the person that took the black pill, Orion, in this case, did not go crazy and start killing people randomly because he was power hungry. Instead, all of the students just sort of... gained their powers and now they work with Rohrbach to fight crime. Sort of like... Rohrbach:...so, uh.. you guys have superpowers. How do you feel about fighting crime now? Students:...Are you kidding? Rohrbach:Noooope. You could really save lives, yanno. As... real life superheroes. Students:... Uh... I guess... Rohrbach: Good, I'll give you a mission periodically and you're welcome to find your own as a group. Bye now. :D (Come see me every so often for a check up.) Something to that nature. Would you all still be interested in something like this?

I'll have to say no to number two as I avoid powers like that like the plague. Ye, they're cool, but it opens a whole cesspool of godmodding that I don't even want to chance. I'll probably try to get this started up tomorrow for you all since we've gotten so many players. So, tomorrow afternoon sometime I'll close the RP to new players. Just to let you guys know, on Fridays I have indoor club which usually runs from 7 on until midnight or later. But I'll usually have my laptop there so I can still make posts. And on Sundays I have a tabletop game which is GMed by my boyfriend and he gets pretty pissy when I RP while... RPing. Yanno? But otherwise, I'm on almost every night unless I'm just stressed out and need a night to myself. Also, I will be posting up a chatroom for us to use in the OP. It will be open 24/7 so whenever you want to chat, feel free to click the link and join in.
