What would a Duke rule over? A large region of a planet/moon, or a whole planet/moon?

Either one. Whichever you like @Commodorerobot: I added a section for escort vessels to the sheet ship, so you may want to give your Indoril class some escorts. Im adding the indoril class to the ship section of the thread now. Points for catching the blatant morrowind references. @Samebito: Instead of more privateer/pirate type characters, I'd actually rather go with an alien as a captain/high ranking officer in the Royal Navy. Ultimately, it's up to you. Post a CS and I'll work with you to make it work with the setting and what the other players develop. There are alien-majority worlds w/in the territory of the kingdom loosely governed by colonial type administrations, or who are only nominally ruled by the king and who basically buy Royal protection by paying feudal dues in resources and soldiers, so your alien species can come from the kingdom itself. The kingdom, as I mentioned, is far from being a centralized state. The Navy is one of the few institutions over which the King has more or less direct control.

@Pepperm1nts You aren't imposing at all m80. I'm just spitballing stuff, it could be an old holdover title from the imperial era or something. If a King rules many worlds then it comes down to the scale of things really. The scale of the barony is still totally open to change.

Not to seem imposing or anything, but isn't a continent a bit much for a Baron? Barons are low nobles. It would seem more fitting for Barons to rule over country-sized regions within continents, and for Counts to rule continents, while Dukes rule planets/moons. Obviously not up to me, though.

Hey, sorry I missed this in my last response. I appreciate where you're coming from, pepperm1nts, but I'm not going to be too particular with titles, since even in fuedal europe the titles often didnt match actual power, wealth or holding size of a particular noble. The idea is that the Kingdom is slightly chaotic and decentralized, and so I feel like alot of this would be nonstandardized across the systems. On one planet a Baron might rule a small area or city, on others he might rule a much more significant amt of territory depending on local customs and circumstances. Also- side note, feel free to make up your own fun space noble titles. In the setting section, I have a xenos world administered by an Overbaron (w/e that is :) ), so feel free to improvise.

If the kingdom is decentralized then I suppose it is possible for Barons to hold that much power in some places. But historically speaking, Barons were low-level nobles, which is why it struck me as strange.

Yep! Everything HSR3+ gets escorts. I'd rather folks stick to HSR 3 ships for now, though I suppose Dratha class battlecruisers are allowed. Escorts on should be HSR2 or less. There'll be plenty of NPC ships in all size categories in the RP.

With the character I have in mind, I'm afraid he'd have to kill yours, or at the very least drag him to the justice he so conveniently escaped. Basically: I can't say my character will be happy about people like yours being allowed to roam freely and with their heads still attached.
