The Fifth Holy Grail War. Fuyuki City was once again thrown into disarray as another series of battles were waged between historical and mythological figures of all kind. During this cycle, however, a completely fictional character who should not exist had also been summoned into reality. Taking note of this intriguing outcome, Kirei Kotomine began exploring the potentials of fictional Servants being brought into existence; partly for his own curiosity, partly for investment for future Grail Wars... in case his schemes for the Fifth War were to fail.
In secret, Kirei began researching extensively into Zelretch's Second Magic, specifically the opening of portals into parallel worlds. He also gathered information about the legendary "Kaleidoscope", the means to opening said portals, and after exhaustive effort, he even made himself a decent replica. However, being a cheap imitation, the tool did not summon the specific portal he had in mind, and a being from another world was led into his...
Rather than being alarmed, Kirei was curious, as he usually was. He learned about the existence of Incubators, their lack of emotions, and most interestingly, the 'heat-death' of the universe, when all existing energy has spread out to colder sources to the very point that heat ceases to flow in all places, and in turn, the creature also explained its solution of incorporating human emotions as a means to solve the entropic apocalypse, particularly those of pubescent girls.
When Kirei offered an explanation of his own world, as well as the Holy Grail Wars, he could have sworn that a tiny smirk had appeared on the creature's smug little face. Kyubey was equally intrigued by this exchange of data, and it learned about the summoning of fictional Servants, as well as the battle royale that took place at least every sixty years. And when Kirei explained the reason Kyubey had entered into his reality, its smirk grew into a fully-arched grin. It made a proposal of sorts to grant Kirei the power of the Second Magic, provided that he offered knowledge of this 'Holy Grail War' in return.
When their business had reached a satisfying conclusion for both, Kirei, out of his insatiable curiosity, had to ask, "How did you acquire such a magnificent power to traverse through worlds?", and it merely answered...
"I had a little help."
This is a work in progress idea of a crossover between Fate/Stay Night and Madoka Magica, possibly one of the most popular "Fate" crossovers. It consists of fictional characters from all existence being summoned by the Holy Grail to a battle royale as Servants of their Masters, the Magi. That means, instead of historical figures like Alexander the Great or mythic beings like Heracles, fictional characters like Kojiro Sasaki, as well as Sherlock Holmes, Jack the Ripper, and possibly even Spider-Man, are all summoned into having one giant beat'em up. Who shall be the victor to take the Holy Grail this time?
As I mentioned, this is still being worked on, and it's thus a mere interest check for now. The time the story is set in will be centuries after the Fifth Holy Grail War, the place will be Fuyuki City, and the timeline is an alternate timeline after events of "Fate/Stay Night" and the "Madoka Magica: Rebellion" movie (hence why Kyubey is cursed with the power of emotions; you might even say this plan is his act of revenge against all Magical Girls). To make things convenient, I'm hoping that I could draw fans of both series into participating, but I don't mind if those who aren't familiar with the lore joins in the fun as well, since there will be extensive summarisation of it in the OOC thread anyway.
On another note, I'm also hoping that I could get someone who's more experienced with the "Fate/Stay Night" lore to cover any loopholes I might have missed with the canon of the universe. Someone with the knowhow on the details of the characters and the story that I might have forgotten or missed.
So there it is. Leave a comment below if you are interested. The actual RP itself won't be happening for some time, but things might change if I get enough people on this (a six-roleplayer count is what I'm reaching for). Hope to hear from you soon!
