Starter Town
The large town was bustling with life. The sky above was a cool blue, with the sun giving warmth and energy to the populace below. Starter Town was a popular place for many tourists, travelers and warriors alike. With many shops, restaurants and entertainment venues, it was no wonder that it was one of the most popular towns in the kingdom. On this particular day however, there was a huge festival going on - a festival occupying nearly the entire town. Food stands, entertainment shows in the streets and discount sales only added to the normal amount of energy that filled the streets. Merchants, travelers, mercenaries, farmers and knights all went about their business, roaming through the streets; some darting to their destinations, while others strolled along carelessly. People who would normally never be seen in the same area were standing in line near one another and even gave the occasional polite nod. Overall, it was a day filled with excitement and a pleasant atmosphere.
A young man was walking on the outskirts of the large town. As he approached one of the town's gates, he noted the guards that were posted there. Four guards in full armour and swords on their sides. The young man was carrying a sword of his own. He also had a bag with him to hold his various items and supplies while he was traveling. After speaking with the guards and telling them what region he was from, the young man made his way into the town.
Hey everyone! So everyone has the option to start in one of two places. You can have your character 1) In Starter Town somewhere 2) In the forest, a mile outside of Starter Town Also, please look at the Rules in the OOC before posting. If you have any questions or would like to discuss anything, feel free to post your discussion in the OOC area. Other than that, it's time to begin the story! Here we go, let's have fun!

Jolokia - Starter Town, Beginnings Boulevard Darting excitedly from food stall to food stall, the green hair of a young looking swordswoman bobbed back and forth as her coin purse became emptier and emptier. Festivals were really the best! There were always so much fun things going on, and the food was amazing! As she gorged herself on some foreign delicacy she couldn't pronounce the name of, the young Masalan warrior Jolokia wondered what to try next. "Ah, it's all so good!" she happily thought aloud, licking her fingers clean. It really did taste amazing, and she wasn't going to waste one drop. "And there's still so much more to try! What next, what next... Oooh, that smells amazing!" Bounding towards a nearby stall, Jolokia's eyes were transfixed by a chef cooking some kind of barbecue dish she'd never had, or more specifically by what he held in his hands. "W-wow! I didn't know you could cook with swords! That's so amazing! Aren't swords amazing? They're the coolest thing ever! Want to see my swo-" "Y'gonna order somethin' or just babble 'bout swords all day, missy?" The barbecue chef laughed heartily, running the blade of one sword along that of the other, making a satisfying SCHNNNNG noise. "...Oh right! Right, right, um... Let's see, um, um..." The young Masalan reached for her coin purse... And to her dismay found only a few small coins left, not nearly enough to buy even the cheapest dish on the menu. "...Waaaah! Noooo! This is the greatest tragedy in all history! And it smelled so good too... No sword barbecue for poor Jolokia..." Slumping off dispondently, Jolokia wondered if there was any way to make more money. She really wanted to try the sword barbecue!

Aura - Starter Town, Beginnings Boulevard Small steps, soft steps, silent steps stepping silently softly as the small boy makes his way through the crowd. A group of peal barge through making a small commotion as they start to speak out loud. "Anyone seen a little kid wondering around here?" as the group of four archaeologist's asked around only to find that there were street children everywhere as they began to complain amongst themselves as the townspeople looked at the four men strangely. Meanwhile moving between stalls the little boy was hungry, he had not eaten in so long and these strange guys just found him. He was not sure what was going on as he wondered where his parents were and why everything looked so different. He could not recognise anything as he walked around finally noticing a stall with several fruit as he just took an apple and started eating as a lady looked to the boy with a glare and asked. "Are you going to pay for that?", the boy paused for a moment having taken only a single bite as he put the apple back down and shook his head. The woman was about to get furious when a man passing by just placed a gold coin on the table and said, "I will pay for this, so do not worry young lady", as the man turned to see the boy's reaction as he was hoping to show off the boy was gone with the apple as well. Things were peaceful as the boy just walked between all the people who were too busy with what seemed to be a festival to notice him, as the researching archaeologist's tried their best to find the small boy as there was no way for them to track him down right now. They had not thought of what to do with the boy and having only really treated his wounds they never got down to giving him proper cleaning or clothing so he pretty much appeared like all the other street kids with brown hair due to how dirty his hair had been from all the rubble it got and some dust as well. His clothes were tattered and torn with only the wound that was fixed being somewhat cleansed to prevent infection. Meanwhile the small boy had finished his apple as he threw the left overs away, he had grown up in a small little village so he did not really get what was going on around him. He then finally noticed something he could recognise and saw a sword, he stood in front of this stall which had a man making some strange meat with his sword. He had never seen a barbeque before and to be honest was not sure what the man was doing as he just wanted to eat the food. He then looked to the side and then as he looked back up there was some strange girl with green hair who spoke as he could barely understand what the man was saying and part of what the girl said. The man said something about order and the girl was searching her pouch for something. She was going on all of a sudden about it being a tragedy that the sword barbeque, as he paused now more interested in her as he was more interested in this new word he never heard before called barbeque, he had read nearly every book in his parents library and never once did he find this word. Was she a foreigner or maybe she was some strange creature since her hair was green, not that his own hair colour was strange if anyone got to see it clean. He then suddenly felt hungry and reached out for the meat only to burn his hand as the man looked his way he got a bit scared and looking around not sure which way to go just remembered the green hair and followed the strange barbeque girl slowly and closely behind her with soft silent small steps

Radley On the high slopes of the Ryu Mountain range a savage wind blew. It whipped at Radley’s face, reddening his bare skin with its vicious chill, and, from the corners of his half-open eyes, streaks of tears ran to his hairline. One fist was clamped tightly around the brim of his sugegasa, the conical straw hat that sat upon his head, as the silk ribbon that normally held it adequately was fraying in the wind, and would not doubt have snapped under the force of a particularly strong gust. The hat was tilted slightly forward, in an attempt to further shield his eyes. It had not been this bad when he started up the mountain pass, but Radley knew the risks taking this route during the early spring; its weather was temperamental at best. Weighing this against cutting at least a week of his travels times had led to Radley deciding it was worth it, which in turn, led to his current predicament. As if to spite him, a solitary figure on the mountainside, the weather took a turn for the worse, and he had to spend two days in a cave eating cured rabbit flesh around a meagre fire whilst waiting for the lashing hailstorm to clear. He had deemed it safe for travel on the third morning, and found that the wind was still as vehement as ever, but it was bearable. In his other hand, Radley held his trusty staff, an old friend, who seemed to be an extension of his very body, which he currently used to traverse a section of loose shingles, with boulders jutting up sporadically from it. It was tricky; even with Radley’s quickstep and light footfalls it began to slide down, and the wind seemed to wish to throw him of balance all the while, forcing him to break into almost a run, until he reached the solace solid of ground. As he crested the final rise, he was greeted with a downwards slope and a magnificent view; the weather had since cleared up and offered a flawless azure backdrop to the expansive landscape, rolling hills and dense woodlands. He could also see a colourful gem on the horizon, the colloquially coined Starter Town, closer to a small city than a town with all the commerce and foreign embassy it saw. Back in Bjorfrost, a northern frontier town whose mayor was indebted to Radley, the monk had heard rumours of a coming festival in the South, housed in the town he saw before him. Even that far north the people were excited, and there seemed to be a frantic dash to catch as many Knuckledhead from the icy lakes as possible, and carve trinkets from their sought-after, oversized skulls, which fetched a pretty penny on the southern market. The day Radley had left, the fishing trawlers were out in swarms, practically covering the lake, and it would have been a miracle in no fighting occurred due to disputes over catches. With a sparked curiosity, he had decided it was time to move on, and what better place to go than this renowned festival, and see first-hand if it was worth all the fuss. He adjusted the pack on his back, and with his spirits raised from the sighting of the town, Radley made good pace down the shallow climb of the mountain pass, and soon trees started passing him as he descended into lands more hospitable. He was headed for the River Aern, which ran straight through Starter Town, and would take him the rest of his journey without much concern for navigation, allowing each footfall to come gaily as his mind wandered and he soaked in the warm sunshine. Once he was alongside the river, which swathed its way through land quickly becoming wooded, he was treated to the merry twitter of birdsong too. The river was illustrious in the sunlight, like liquid diamond flowing free. When Radley rested at noon whilst the Sun passed its zenith, the water did not disappoint; each mouthful was revitalising and so cold it felt like it was cutting your mouth, and it washed away the residual saltiness of the cured meat with welcome efficiency. Onwards Radley trudged, his boots crunching in the wet sediment of the riverside, his staff offering stability and an extra driving force. He was making good pace, but knew he would not make the town in time; he had only just reached one of the winding dirt tracks that had been trodden in by numerous travellers and trading caravans. He followed this path for close to an hour, only seeing a single rider pass him in this time. The sky was beginning to stain vermillion with the setting sun, and blue strips of cloud hung in wait of the coming night. Radley turned off the path before reaching the main cobblestone road that ran from Starter Town to New Harbour, and into the woodland running parallel to it. It sloped downwards, forcing Radley to lift his staff up on the ground and trot down so he didn’t fall face-first, and likely spill the contents of his pack. As the Sun touched the horizon, Radley had found a suitable place to camp: a ring-copse of trees, not too far from a road in the hopes wild animals kept away, which he could sling his hide covering between for shelter. In the ring made by the trees there were also several boulders, one of which he used to semi-shelter his fire, from the elements, and any unsavoury eyes, and another he slung his burden over, sitting on the only remaining, and also flattest, moss-covered stone. He yanked of his boots, after unbuckling them, and stretched, wriggling his toes, the nip in the air a welcome change from the sweltering atmosphere of his boots. His arms reached far above his head, his back cracked audibly once, and he let of a yawn. The camp was easily set up; the covering, a mesh of sewn together animal hides, acted almost like a tent when slung between the branches of three trees, and retained much of the heat from the fire. Radley then went about skinning the three rabbits he had caught and not eat eaten on his journey, intending to feast upon one now, and quickly cure the other two overnight. The sun was now a semi-circle of blazing fire, dropping slowly into the ground on the horizon.

The blonde male walked through the busy streets. Sotaru had been on a two day journey before arriving here in Starter Town. This was his first time adventuring away from his town and he was pretty excited. However, right now he was focused on other things. Mainly that he was exhausted and really needed something to drink. Walking through the busy streets, he made his way to a large plaza. There was a water fountain in the middle of it, and he went to sit down at the edge of the fountain. Relaxing and taking some breaths, he looked around at the many people going about. This place is really nice. It's never this busy back home. Sotaru's town was much more quiet and peaceful than here. Eventually he saw a green haired girl near a food stand. After talking there for a while, she began to walk away. Lots of interesting people here. I need to restock my supplies and purchase a new map. But first I really need to get some food. Thinking that it might be nice to try to talk with one of the locals, Sotaru got up and walked toward the green haired swordswoman. "Hey!" he waved, finally catching up. "You live around here? I just got to town recently, I'm trying to find my way around. Do you know anywhere I can get some good food?"

High in the trees of the forest outside of Starter Town was a giant web spanning four different trees made up of a thin steel wire that was only seen as it caught the light of the sun high overhead. In the middle of the web laid a young man in his early twenties who seemed to be sleeping unaware of his surroundings as he rolled over into a gap in the web and fell out. Marcus woke up with one of his arms above him as he hung from the web as the wires were connected to his fingertips, he flicked his pinky finger which engaged the wheel integrated into the top of his glove which pulled him back up to the web as the wire slack was reeled in. When he reached the web again he sat down cross legged in the middle and held out one of his gloved hands palm up and concentrated on the center. Hovering over his palm two small ice orbs formed from the moister in the air before starting to rotate around themselves over his palm as he started to meditate on the motion of the orbs. He remained in the pose for most of the afternoon with his eyes closed and actually at one point did fall back asleep only to be woken up by a growling stomach which reminded him that he hadn't eaten all day. Marcus grabbed one of the orbs in his clawed fingers as he watched it melt back into water before getting up from his spot and jumping over to the closest branch that was big enough to hold his weight before holding out his right hand and activating the wheel to reel in all the wires that made up the web. As the sun started to head toward the horizon, Marcus jumped down from the tree and started to walk through the forest at his own pace as he listened for any sounds that could give away where food could be hiding. After a few minutes he saw a fire in a small clearing causing him to slow down as he approached quietly before sending out some wire to pull him into the trees so he could approach from above in the tree branches. He saw a man setting up camp in the clearing and was currently preparing a few rabbits for food which made Marcus' mouth water slightly. He fixed his cloak so that it covered his spool of wire on his back before sitting down on one of the branches that overlooked the clearing. "Hey there. I don't suppose you would be willing to share some of that rabbit? I do have some money if I could buy it off of you." He hoped that the older looking guy was friendly and would allow him to buy some of the rabbit since he was to lazy to head into town and find some food.

Amythest Malachite, MISTRESS OF THAT HEARTLESS MAGIC THE WORLD CALLS BLACK - Starter Town, Beginnings Boulevard "WAHAHAHAHA~" The dark queen of all black magic slammed the tip of her staff down onto the cobblestone! With a triumphant laugh, she ran her free hand through her long, pink hair! Yes, beautiful and deadly! Swiftly it moved to her hip, and she gave the entire town a malevolent grin! Yes, Amythest Malachite, the darkest villain to ever taint the lands with her evil presence, had arrived! Soon these foolish mortals would know true fear! Soon they would suffer under her iron fist of cruel tyranny and tyrannical cruelty! Clearly her throat and flashing a malevolent grin to the crowd before her, she began to speak in the most threatening tone she could possibly muster! "Greetings, foolish mortals of Starter Town!" she declared, pausing for a moment as she contemplated what a ridiculous name 'Starter Town' was. Seriously? Well, she'd rename it something fitting and evil when she... totally conquered it because that was exactly what she would do! "I am Amythest Malachite, MISTRESS OF THAT HEARTLESS MAGIC THE WORLD CALLS BLACK, WAHAHAHAHA~" She paused to let the terror sink in for a moment, before closing her eyes softly and resuming her declaration of power and evil! "Now, I know you may all be terrified, and rightly so! But if you surrender to my dark might, you shall all be spared the greater part of the agonies I can inflict! Be forewarned, however, as any who resist me will suffer all the tortures of he-... E-eh...?" Amythest trailed off as she opened her eyes and realized that, as opposed to cowering in fear, the populace of the town was proceeding along as if she wasn't there. Faltering, she hopped off of her position near the center of the boulevard and waved her fee hand in the air. "H-hey, black witch and all? Mistress of Evil? U-um... I'm right here you know!" No-one was scared at all, what the hell?!

Radley whirled about with terrifying speed, snatching up his staff from its resting place against a rock, and settling back into a defensive stance, staff poised, in a single fluid motion. There was a brief moment of confusion, before his brain caught up and worked out where the voice had come from. Up. The rabbits had been sizzling in their fats upon his iron skillet over the fire, and Radley was too travel-worn to have kept his guard up and consequently he was caught unawares. He gazed up at the branch of the tree, on which sat a slender man with hair the colour of slate. Radley shielded his eyes with one hand; he had taken off his hat and his raven-wing locks writhed in the slight breeze. The free hand lowered the tip of the staff to the ground as Radley had recovered from the initial shock, and saw that this man meant no harm, announcing his presence in the way he had. The man was likely just another fellow traveller, and hungry, judging from his offer to buy a rabbit. Still, it was rather odd that he perched himself on the branch of a tree, like some wood-elf or forest nymph from stories and song. Yet, even with his staff lowered, Radley still kept it in his hands; whilst he didn’t suspect anything of ill ilk from the man, he didn’t put it past a cunning thief. Starter Town was a good place, and a fine city, but there is as price to be paid for all good places, and a price all good places have to pay. No small amount of wealth flowed through the city, and that attracted covetous and greedy eyes, some with hearts black to match. “Spare your coin,” Radley began, the words coming painfully, and somewhat alien, from his chapped, unused lips. “I wish only for you to pay me in good company and conversation after a long and hard journey, that I might find some comfort on the road, and perhaps even a new friend.” He gestured with his head, pointing it towards the fire, before he returned to sit on his rock, shaking the skillet, to which the flowing juices hissed in response. It was a small price to pay for a creature comfort such as a guest; the meat was not that expensive, and he could buy plenty more from the city, both rations and good meals. The pelts on the other hand… the pristine white fur of his Mountain Rabbits, sometimes called Hill Hare by the Southerners, was highly sought after for gloves boots, and various other such fashion accessories, as the coat was thick and soft, and a white coat was rare among the species, and therefore valuable. Lifting the skillet away from the heat, Radley lifted a whole Rabbit with a gloved hand and offered it in the direction of the newcomer with an outstretched hand. It would no doubt be hot, but food was food, and it would cool down quickly enough. “Sorry, I don’t carry much in the way of plates,” Radley explained; he had never really needed them, as he always used the skillet and ate his food straight from it, “I hope that doesn’t stop you from giving me your name.”

Deep in the forest, there was a group of horse-drawn carriages and people walking on foot. The two horse-drawn carriages squeaked along, as it headed in the direction of the large town. It would still be some time before they arrived there. Walking beside the vehicles, were eight men in dark cloaks. They walked in two lines, four on each side. There was a woman walking amongst them as well, a young woman dressed in the common wear of a townsperson. Her hands bound by rope, it was clear that the young woman was not in the same rank or organization as the cloaked figures that were leading her. Somewhere not too far off, a wolf howled in the forest, and a few of the cloaked figures turned to face the sound. Continuing along, the group made its way through the woods.

People, a veritable sea of them. How one place could ever be so crowded, even with such festivities such as this always boggled Alaustriel's mind. Used to his own race's rather smaller populations and to the solitude of the wilds, being cramped like a canned sardine was not something the young ranger enjoyed. One had to always be vigilant in such circumstances so as to not be stolen from or menaced by in certain spaces, as well as fight through the throngs just to get to your destination. The discordant smells and sounds also did not help and if anything added to the dizzying and muddling of his senses. An ever so slight frown etched itself on the elf's face, cursing his own slight appearance for working against him in such times like these. Though the crowd was only adding to Alaustriel's annoyance, he continued onward, jostled by just about everyone bigger than him, which even included a couple of the human children who were ahead of him by mass. After all, when many people congregated en masse, it often meant that the meeting place would be flooded with goods and supplies that were normally spaced out much farther and over a significantly vaster area, which meant much more traveling time. Here, an adventurer could easily pick up all their essentials and trade in their own. Import and export at its finest. Despite having been born a high elf, Alaustriel had thoroughly explored the professions of his wood elf cousins and picked up the craft. Forestry came naturally to him, and thus his affinity towards woodworking earned him quite a few bags of coin. Wooden figurines, expertly crafted bows, and even wands ready to be charged with magic were all made by his own two hands while traveling about the various regions were sold in Starter Town. Though they weren't masterworks like those who truly committed to the craft, neither were they of any quality below high average. He had his pride after all. Most of the coins were then spent on supplies, mostly salt, spices, herbs, and oils from abroad as well as a few camping supplies that he had to replace. He didn't need much after all, and often planned for long expeditions since he preferred the roads left traveled and the only thing he would splurge for were ingredients to make food taste better and toiletries to hygienic purposes. Anything else he could simply gather from the wilderness or trade for with other travelers. It was after he was quietly exulting over the find of various pouches of high quality tea that he heard a commotion in the distance. Curious to see it in person, the green-clad youth wandered towards its source with pointed ears tuned towards the sounds. Soon, he found that it was a human child (from his perspective) loudly stating exactly how villainous and evil she was... and failing miserably due to her looks. And he was most certain it was bravado or a role to be played, like those actors from the theaters and operas. Feeling a bit bad for how everyone was all but ignoring the poor girl, he politely clapped. "Bravo. Would you like a candied apple as tribute for not outright destroying me?" Alaustriel said with a calmly even tone and straight face, even as he held a stick with the dessert perched atop it: a crunchy green apple glazed with sugar and roasted about a flame evenly so that the surface was caramelized and the insides juicy enough to squirt out on the first bite with just the right amount of tartness to make it so that the treat was not overly sweet.

Marcus smiled when the man mentioned that he wouldn't have to pay for the rabbit and that he would just have to repay him by keeping him company. That was way more do able than giving the dark haired man some of the few remaining coins that he kept in a small pouch hanging from his hip. He got up from his spot on the branch and had some of his wire wrap around the branch so that he could lower himself easily to the ground instead of risking jumping the ten feet and injuring himself which he knew would happen. He lowered himself in the shaded part of the tree and to the guy watching him it could have appeared that he had just floated down since it would be hard to see the wires without light catching the metal. When he reached the ground, he activated the wheel on the his raised right hand which reeled in the wire from the branch and gave a small click as the end of the wire disappeared into his fingertips. As he lowered his arm and made his way toward the fire where the man was sitting he looked around and noticed that the man had some nice pelts with him which Marcus did not want to ruin. When he reached the fire he sat down cross legged on the ground opposite of the man and accepted the rabbit that was offered to him. "Don't worry about a plate. I can't remember the last time I have actually used a plate." Marcus pulled his traveling pack from under his cloak and set it on the ground next to him before he started to pull the rabbit meat apart with his clawed gloves. "My name by the way is Marcus Frost and I am a adventurer always looking for a nice warm climate. What would your name be?" As he asked this question a wolf howled as it seemed to call out to find its pack and was answered with a few more howls which sounded closer than Marcus would have liked. "It might not have been the best idea to set up camp in the forest right now. It sounds like wolves are prowling the area."

Jolokia - Starter Town, Beginnings Boulevard As Jolokia continued along the street, she rubbed her poor tummy, deprived of the amazing-looking sword barbecue. If she'd turned around, maybe she would've noticed the deceptively young-looking boy following her, but a few things conspired to grab her attention. Firstly, a young blond man had approached her, asking her about the one thing she didn't really want to think about at the time. "Um... Food?" Staring blankly at the man for a moment, Jolokia tilted her head before rubbing her stomach once more. "The sword barbecue looked so amazing! It was like barbecue, but made with swords! Isn't that the most awesome thing ever? It's two of the best things ever combined into the most amazingly awesome thing and... And I don't have enough money for it! So I need to get more money! Do you know how I can get more money? I really want to try it and-" Thankfully for Sotaru, the green-haired girl's babbling was cut off when a strange girl began ranting about dark magic and foolish mortals. Turning her gaze towards her, Jolokia watched the entire monologue intently, and... "Yay! Awesome! That was great!" She broke into applause. "I just love amateur theater!"

Amythest Malachite, MISTRESS OF THAT HEARTLESS MAGIC THE WORLD CALLS BLACK - Starter Town, Beginnings Boulevard Bravo? Clapping?! "It's not some kind of performance!" Amythest snapped, smoothly snatching the candied apple away from the elf. Her eyes narrowed as she held it back. Well, okay, it... kind of was... but everyone had to believe she absolutely was the mistress of all evil! So she didn't actually... do anything evil... She could, and that was the point! She was totally dangerous and evil and everything! So she would most certainly tell all of these 'foolish mortals' just how dangerous she was while enjoying this tasty and delicious caramel apple. Taking a bite out of it and finding it just as wonderful as it looked, she quickly stepped back to once again announce just how evil she was, now that people were paying attention. And just as she opened her mouth... Some green-haired girl declared that she loved amateur theater. While clapping. Amythest would have irritably folded her arms if not for the threat of losing the caramel apple. Or worse, getting it stuck to her clothing. That would just plain suck. "I just said it's not a performance! I truly am the dark mistress of evil!" ... So she had helped those children get their ball back one time... and saved that kitten... she also stole that pie! That was pretty evil, right? Totally. "If you continue to treat me so lightly, I shall introduce you to the true meaning of pain!" She declared triumphantly.

Sotaru blinked. "Barbeque?" he repeated. His stomach started to rumble. He looked at Jolokia, listening, until he heard a speech coming from someone nearby. He looked over and saw a pink haired girl. "This place sure is interesting," he said aloud. "They really go all out with the entertainment." Sotaru noticed someone else nearby as well, possibly an elf. He was going to say something else, when soon a voice could be heard from a large stage in the plaza. One of the festival's hosts was at the front of the stage, and many of the event's organizers were on stage behind him. The host was a large, round man with a stylized moustache and red cheeks. "Hello good townsfolk! I want to welcome you all to the Annual Starter Town Festival!" The crowds turned their attention to the stage and many people began to cheer. The man on stage continued. "As you all know, this is a three day long festival. To get things started, all of our main stores will have 20% discount sales for the next two hours!" The crowd cheered in response and some women screamed in excitement. "Also, soon we will begin our swordplay competition. Sign-ups are right over here. And with that, let the celebration begin!" Music began to play and the crowd seemed filled with excitement as everyone went to various parts of the town. There was a short line in front of the stage, where people were signing up for the swordplay competition. The competition seemed interesting to Sotaru and he would probably watch. But first he needed to get some food. He looked to the green haired girl again. "Hm? How to get more money?" he looked around. "Maybe the sword competition has prize money... But what are the chances any of us could win that." He then pointed to the male elf and the pink haired girl. "Maybe they can help us." Walking towards them, Sotaru noted the caramel apple the girl had. Some drool appeared from his lips as he stared at it.

Amelia - Starter Town, Beginnings Boulevard "Excuse me! Make way! I can't see where I'm going! Sorry!" Amelia's voice called out to the people who were walking in front of her. Some scooted away from her path after laying eyes on what appeared to be a tower of food coming their way. The little thief was trying her hardest to keep all the food she hugged in arms balanced so it would not collapse on top of her. Not that she wouldn't mind having food on top of her, she just doesn't want to get it dirty. It would be a waste of food! This surplus of delicious goodies she is carrying were all packaged inside little boxes and stacked up high enough to block Amelia's vision, it was about two feet above her head. People who stood off on the side were watching to see if this girl would be able to maintain her balance, but by the looks of it, Amelia won't last long as the boxes started to wobble very ominously. Prior to this, Amelia arrived to Starter Town not too long ago. She was very excited to hear that a festival was going on and wanted to make sure she hoarded as much food as she can before the stores are sold out. However, there was one issue...she had no money! -Wallet moths and a frown- So, she had to improvise and by improvise, she means steal. She went around different parts of town, pickpocketing unsuspecting people and bought various foods that caught her eye, down to the last coin. It started with one box of munchies...and then another...and another...then by the time she knew it, she already had about thirty boxes. The vendors tried to convince Amelia that she was already carrying more than she could handle, but that didn't stop her from living the dream! She would eventually cross paths with a particular blonde haired guy, green haired girl, a blonde elf, and a pink haired girl like herself. However, Amelia's course was heading straight towards the pink haired mage who was distracted with her precious caramel apple to notice a large shadow overlapping her own little size. When Amelia heard the announcement about a swordplay competition being held, it made her lose focus for a brief moment as the boxes began to wobble uncontrollably...and started to tip forward towards the poor pink haired girl. Amelia's eyes widened realizing it at the last minute, but she did not think anyone would be in front of her, so she assumed the situation wouldn't be any worse than it already is.

"Indeed? Then henceforth, I shall do my best so as to not anger the great and powerful Dark Mistress of Evil." More blatant straight faced words came from the inwardly amused elf, even as he looked the very opposite of frightened. "In any case, make sure you finish up the apple before it gets cold... It tastes much better when hot and juicy." And then Alaustriel glanced at the newcomers even as music and announcements made everything jarringly louder to his sensitive ears. "..." Seeing that another child was covetously looking at the treat, the high elf ranger simply bought another one no questions asked to hand over to the boy. Children in general were rather nice and refreshing, partly because elves don't have much young people running about and partly because they are rather innocent and endearing. Humans were so lucky they could have such numbers of children running about. And then... an ominous human siege tower arrived. "Oh, great and terrible Lady of Pain, do be careful. I fear that you will experience a most jarring encounter should you not sidestep two paces henceforth lest you be buried by an avalanche." Still, not even kids were safe from his snark. He had a standard to maintain and all. Really, this was all too easy to make such materials for.

The sight of the man drifting to the ground was befuddling, until he landed and held up his right hand, at which point Radley could spot an extraordinarily thin wire for the strength it seemed to hold: enough to support a man. It glinted in the low light, and the whir of the spooling was audible above the crackle on fire. An impressive trick nonetheless, and the concealment of the apparatus used was equally so; it must have been the last in a long heritage of designs, compacting and improving each generation, because Radley could not see it. Radley listened, attentive to each word, how the syllables fell tremulous compared to the raging winds of nature’s overture, even with the bass of a male voice. Marcus Frost, a traveller long on the road by the sounds of it, much like Radley, however Radley only wandered the road in introverted pilgrimage. A self-proclaimed adventurer; that might explain his curious garb, particularly the clawed gloves, and the wires. Radley’s heart had burnt for adventure, for fame, in his youth, but that had died and a new purpose arose, and still, Radley found himself envying Marcus, that all he sought was an adventure and a warm climate. Many times Radley had wished for a simpler life, one might assume life as a monk was a simple as it came, but the search for purpose and enlightenment created a turmoil and desperation that was at times the most unbearable burden in the world. “Well met, Marcus, I am Radley Oerheart, a travelling monk” he leaned his body forward in a half bow, not rising from his sitting position, “I am currently on my way to Starter Town, to see the festival so famed, and do trade with the merchants there.” At the howl, Marcus shifted his head, the way one would when they encountered something that seized their curiosity. Wolves were surprisingly cautious; Radley had seen many on the road, at the fleeting edges of his vision, but none had ever attacked him. There was another possibility: that in surprisingly cold Southern Winter seemed to be holding on too tightly as spring encroached, and perhaps a Dire Wolf had made its way into the forest. They favoured the Northern Territories, but it was not unknown for them to get lost and wander too far South. They were vile of beasts of half wolf and half, well, something else, a putrid evil that lingered and twisted their very being for the sole purpose of malicious acts of violence. They were also about twice the size of their uncorrupted cousins. “Perhaps you are right,” Radley admitted, a little sullen after having set up camp, and now he had to go about deconstructing it. He looked at the rabbit in the skillet. He wouldn’t have time to cure it now, and he wasn’t that hungry after finishing his. “Feel free to help yourself to more; it would only go to waste otherwise.” The fire had just about died out, so Radley began the job of packing up, untying the sheet stretched between the trees. Then would come fitting it into his sack. “It will soon be night, we have but a few minutes of dying light,” Radley observed, “It would be unwise for either of us to travel alone, so perhaps we could accompany each other to Starter Town?”

Marcus looked over the man that sat across the fire from himself, he had met several monks on his travels and each one was different in their nature so he did not know what to expect from this man. He wondered what kind of enlightenment the man could find to make him travel to Starter Town for a festival. Marcus had come to this area because he had heard that there was some money to be made at the festival and rumors that there was fun and adventure to be had if he had come to this town which he hoped would not disappoint. When Radley agreed to pack up camp and continue the travel to the town before it got completely dark Marcus started to rise to his feet before examining the last rabbit on the skillet. "I may have an idea with the rabbit." He fished around in his pack for a moment before drawing a leather wrap and picking up the rabbit. He tore of a piece of the meat for himself to eat before wrapping the rest of it up and stowing it into his pack. "Some for now and than some for the wolves when they catch up to us." He told the monk with a smile before biting into the meat. "I like your idea of traveling together, it would give us more time to meet each other as well. I do hope there are some good festival competitions when we get there to participate in, I have wished for some good fun lately." Marcus told the monk as he helped him pack up his equipment and stamp out the fire before throwing his own pack over his shoulder and pulling it in under his cloak so that his cloak covered up all his clothes and equipment.

Aura the boy who wanted to eat a sandwich - Starter Town, Beginnings Boulevard The boy was still following closely behind as his pursuers had not given up on finding the young boy. He proceeded to continue on his way towards the barbeque girl, when all of a sudden she came to a stop. Some ordinary looking adventurer with brown hair appeared before them, as he looked on the man asked something about food. The boy was still a bit confused as he forgot what he was following the girl for, as he yawned a bit, looking around as he then overheard that word again. The man mentioned this secret food item known as barbeque, what was this great food item that its name just made you feel like eating. For some reason he did not notice the girl in the pink hair until he sneezed softly. As he raised up his little head slowly to the side he saw the weirdest pink haired girl in his life. Then something occurred to him, why was it that everyone here had strange colourful hair just like him. He grew up in a small village and everyone besides him had brown or black hair. Why was it that these people all had hair of different colours. He then finally noticed something he should have known sooner, he had no idea where he was as he accidentally spoke this thought out loud. "Where am I?" He then closed his mouth when he noticed as he looked down only to listen in on some guy starting a weird speech of sorts. This voice was rather loud and was coming from some strange stage in the plaza area. He had never seen a stage before, nor did he know what a plaza was to begin with. The man appeared plump to the boy and he assumed the guy was eating way too much, as he began to wonder if this was what happened if you ate the legendary barbeque. The announcement of the Annual Starter Town Festival made him confused since he had also never been to a festival. What was with this weird town and its strange multi-coloured people. Was he having some kind of weird dream and where were his parents, so many questions as he noticed people cheering after a while. He was not that bad at hearing he just had an attention span that turned on and off at a whim. He began to think to himself as he half listened to what the man was saying. He had to discover the joy of this legendary legend of barbeque. He also had to survive the dreaded festival for three days since he thought anything that takes that long to end must be torture. The stores were all having a twenty percent off sale which then made him speak out loud again. "That is stupid, twenty percent is like free nearly",as he pouted faintly as he had not realized that the price was not twenty percent, but twenty percent less. He began to think the entire town was mad as people were cheering for these mad prices, maybe they were right to cheer, but what about the poor store keepers who lose all their money for this stupid festival. He then finally heard something familiar for a change, a sword play competition as his pursuers were still in hot pursuit. He then tried to ask someone about the sword play as he spoke softly, "swordplay". He did not even notice it but he was now right next to the green haired girl, how he ended up next to her he would not know as he looked up and realised the tall brown haired guy who he may later learn was the adventurer known as Sotaru had said a few words about winning money in swordplay. Was this man the town guide and since he had brown hair he had to be a normal person who would understand him. Destiny or Fate, Swords or Magic, all he knew was he was hungry without money and bored with a sword.
