Lord Zee I lost the game

Amos was now ready to go back out in the light, for the darkness had given him more power now. Henceforth he left the old room and ventured to the mouth of the temple. He looked at at the darkened forest to his dismay and did not see the ent, whatsoever. It must have ventured off deeper into the swamp. He would hunt it down and see if he could control it now, for it was bound to him in a way. After awhile he found signs of its passing, broken limbs and trees pushed over. He was close. The ent in the meantime, had meandered its way deeper into the swamp. Stumbling on the party of adventures with a crashing of trees and roar..

Priscilla sloshed and pushed through the murky waters that covered the swamp floor with practised effort. Every now and then she would poke at the ground with her blade to check if it would hold fast beneath her foot. She could only grumble and groan as she cut a path through the dank undergrowth and damp foliage, looking back occasionally to check on her comrades, making sure the swamp had not swallowed them up. She did not like this place, these waters were impure and still. The water god did not dwell in these parts, these were the lands of earth and mud. Though she knew that the swamp was merely that, a swamp, she still felt in necessary to be wary for who knew what could be dwelling in the depths and dark hollows. She turned back to look at the others and smiled, "Tis not exactly a field of daffodils is it?" She chuckled heartily as she pulled herself to a nearby bank from the water, inspecting her platemail with a disgusted grimace. "Let us try to stick to the drier land as much as we can. My plate will rust before we even get there at this rate." Her grimace turned to a look of surprise as she heard the sounds of splintering wood and rustling leaves coming from nearby. A great roar of oaken fury went up at a great tree creature emerged from the brush and advanced upon them, wasting no time at all. "To arms, friends! An enraged ent approaches!" She drew up her shield, held her blade out to the side and whispered a silent prayer to the water god as she saw the ent advance, preparing to dive away should it swipe.

Jacque trudged through the muck at a toddler's pace, hardly something he believed befitting of a ranger, but it was a necessary evil to ensure he reached the destination alive. He gave an amused snort and shrug at Priscilla's statement, "It's a shame the drake you seek wasn't one known to inhabit meadows.". Jacque almost paused to wonder whether or not his statement would be viewed as insensitive, however a roar ripped through the swamp accompanied by the sound of trees being torn asunder by the creature that charged towards the group. The ranger spun, and, upon viewing the ent bearing down upon him, unsheathed his weapon and prepared to do battle. For a moment, the size of the massive amalgamation of wood and fury made Jacque wonder if perhaps he should fight not as a man, but as a beast. The sudden burning sensation on his chest from the talisman he carried quickly shut down that idea, eliciting a small growl of displeasure from him.

The ent swiped at the group, its long knobby arm rushing with ancient fury. Meanwhile, it's roots dug deep into the mud, coming up on the back of the group, attempting to flank them. Its red eyes burned with intense hatred, for they were trespassing on its home and would pay the price.

Ze conjured up a fire ball and tossed it at the ent setting it on fire.

Priscilla fell into a roll as the ent's knobbed arm came soaring at her, and felt it skim the back of her platemail. Mud and grime filled her ears and splashed onto her face, as she felt it seep past her armor and onto her body beneath the armour. She put her shield on her back once more, knowing that she would not be able to block a blow from this creature without incurring some sort of collateral damage. As the beast reeled from the momentum of its swing, she pushed to her feet and jumped at it, swinging Verschlinger in a wide, advancing arc and feeling it bite into the bark of the ent's leg. She yelled as she wrenched Verschlinger from the ent and rolled under another blow, looking to swing once more in the same place. "Fell the beast! First, stymie its movement and then we will cull it!"

Jacque sucked in a sharp breath as he jumped back to avoid the ent's, made all the more deadly by the flames that engulfed it's body thanks to Ze. He nearly slipped in the muck, but years of training on nearly every terrain manageable help him remain standing. The ranger lunged forward, his movement was still hampered by the muck, but not enough to stop him from slashing at the ent's knee. Once more he jumped away, thanking the nature gods for his heightened agility as another swing from the wooden beast nearly took his head off. His landing was less than graceful, as he sank partially in the muck, still he could see that his blow had at least left a mark, as evidenced by the long stream of sap that poured from the cut he'd left.

The ent, now in flames, roared in anger. It was getting wounded badly at this adventurers party and because of this it grew angrier still. It lashed out with all of its extremities this time, intending to swipe at all who opposed it, while trying to guard it's wounded spots more carefully.

Priscilla dove to a solid patch of soil to avoid a solid slam of one of the ent's burning limbs. It was mad, enraged and panicked by the flames, but it was also very slow and still made of wood. She rose quickly, placing her shield upon the solid ground to take to her bastard sword, Verschlinger, with two hands. The hilt was tattered and rough, just how she liked it. She watched the flames dance for a moment, seeing their rich orange colour and feeling the energies within them as her face felt the flush of heat rushing from them. The ent was in place, but only for a moment. With a great inhale, some of the flames from its arm seemed to jump to her, entering through her eyes and mouth, rushing down through her throat to her stomach. The warm orange glow quickly changed, the warmth being traded for the feeling of smoke and mist as it changed from orange to grey. With a great bellow, she leapt at the creature's stationary, lowered arm and brought her blade down as the energies she had consumed rushed into it. From her blade came a loud, howling buzz, and the blade sizzled into and through the oaken flesh of the ent, sawing its arm straight off. Priscilla backed off with a grunt and a sudden cough, which was quickly followed by a dry heave as the energies backlashed and made her stomach feel like a den of wasps caught in molasses. She wiped her mouth of spittle and looked to the others, "Dark magicks power this beast! Be wary!"

Ze pulled out twin daggers that were glowing red with the power of demon blood and the spirits of dragons and slashed at the ent with a flurry of blows so fast you could barely see the movement of his hands and arms.

Virgil had been walking for quite awhile now. He wasn't sure where lead himself to, but continued to move forward. "Does this forest ever end?" He asked no one in particular since he was clearly by himself at the moment.
