Seeking Old World of Darkness Storytellers and Players for Vampire: the Masquerade or Vampire: the Dark Ages.

Hi there! How are you this evening? Personally, I find myself feeling rather unfulfilled, restless, and rather uninterested in all of the interest checks out there. You see, I'm eager to get into a good game of Vampire: The Masquerade or Vampire: the Dark Ages (but please not Dark Ages: Vampire). Now, I'm a player who has absolutely zero experience with running anything. So I'm looking for a storyteller as well as other people who want to play. And if you're a storyteller who is interested but wants to talk specific ideas. Then let's talk here. My only thought so far is that I'd like to play as some kind of traditionally vampiric, or even leaning towards monstrous vampire. Not necessarily looking for a sabbat chronicle, or to mindlessly terrorize the weak, but I might like to play a Lasombra or Tzimisce. Someone not on the road of humanity. And if they have to play nice with the camarilla or independents, or whoever else... then that's just a roleplaying opportunity waiting to be explored. Or maybe several.

Brilliant! As you can probably tell from my request, I'm very open on this. From doing a something modern and  full of conspiratorial intrigue to an action packed medieval campaign set amid the War of Omens in Eastern Europe. What are your own thoughts/preferences?

hey i was wondering if i could join in on this, its been a while since i played world of darkness, but i never did the vampire one, so if someone can explain the rules, i did the werewolves though, so i need to know the rules of the vampires and also making one

I'm guessing this would be a tabletop RP, yes? I'm somewhat interested, though I'm incredibly new to tabletop gaming so I hope you can be patient with me as I'm slowly learning the ropes of tabletop gaming and the World Of Darkness.

Wow. Looks like a few people who aren't familiar with the game itself are interested. Well, for Vampire: the Masquerade, please click Here. As far as Vampire: the Dark Ages, I cant find any such resources yet. But it's very cool. Maybe even cooler than it's modern equivalent. But the version called Dark Ages: Vampire has too many pointless revisions that take away from the game and limit the options rather than enriching the gameplay. If you want some details, they might take a while to write but your basic differences in the Dark Ages are: No Camarilla or Sabbat. Therefore every clan is essentially still independent. No Giovanni or true Necromancy discipline yet. The Tremere are new and pretty much everyone else hates them for Diablerizing one of the most enlightened and virtuous Antedilluvians ever to exist. In general, every Domain (local community of vampires) has a Prince or similarly titled authority figure. Even the Voivodes of the Tzimisce in Central and Eastern Europe serve essentially the same function as a Prince, that is acting as the leader of a local community of vampires.

I'm actually pretty able to run either dark ages of straight VtM, depending on what people are more interested in. I'm a closet OWOD junkie, so I'm up on the lore for either. I will saY, though, that unless you all are super into die rolls i'm significantly more interested in using the system and character creation as guidelines and quasi-free forming it from there.

While I've never played in Dark Ages, I've got a couple of concepts for a "classic" (is that what we call that?) game of VtM. I'll keep my eye on the thread or what not to see where it goes. I could always just make an Assamite or a Salubri for kicks.

Warning you now, I'm a total bitch. I'm only interested in running it in Advanced, and if I start up a game I'm highly likely to restrict starting characters based on affiliation, group interest, age, etc. So: I'll throw up an OOC for it if I can get 3-4 solid votes for Modern vs. Dark Ages. Bonus points if you include what you're looking for in an OWoD game, so I can make some effort to accommodate. Sound fair? Ready? Go.

im gonna make my character a Gangrel Worker Monster, Potence, Fortitude, Auspex, Herd, Mentor, Allies, Generation, Status, its what i have so far, but you get the hint, basically he will be the slaughter house of the vampires, and being a Trucker, well, he can transport large amounts of food for other vampires, from, Mortals to feed off of, live mortals, to those hippy sucking blood bags, and he gets paid to do it, because im gonna make sure his self control is high enough so he doesnt pull over and slaughter the cargo if its live prey.

Alright, I'll add a vote for Vampire: the Dark Ages. And for bonus points, I'm interested in vampiric politics, intrigue and maybe a bit of combat as well. I'm looking to deal mostly with other vampires. So, social interactions and a chance to revel in the gifts of Cain, maybe through solving problems or maybe through combat. I'm wanting to play a Tzimisce now. And I'm hoping we can get a chronicle going involving aiding the Tzimisce/Gangrel/Nosferatu of Eastern Europe against the Tremere and the Eastern Lords of the Ventrue. How's that, @Howler? Also I agree with keeping this sort of game in the Advanced section. That seems totally appropriate here.

Wait, hold on, I'm a little confused: if you guys are planning on putting this in the Advanced section, does this mean this isn't going to be a tabletop RP? I mean, I don't mind if that's the case (in fact, that will make it easier on me as I don't have any real experience with tabletop RPs), I just want to make sure I've got my facts straight.

Look at you, being a good lad. Definitely something I can work with. I do loves me some Tzimisce. Two votes for Dark Ages so far, it would seem. From your concept, Thanatos, I assume you're looking for modern but I'll warn you now that I have concerns about the character you're proposing. We'll nail them out when/if I get enough interest for an OOC.

correction, he can easily be a cargo supplier, transporting food to the clans elders, so i vote for dark ages, as in disguise, cage driver for captured mortals
