Who likes PVE NRPs? I do!
City States of Oshmar: Greenskin Invasion
The Story
The Orcs of Gardul, and the East Lands
The Grey Fleet
Mechanics
Rules
  • Adhere to the established mechanics.
  • If a player does something you find is contradictory to the mechanics, I'd rather you raise it with myself, or a Co-GM if there is one, rather than yell it out in the OOC.
  • Be reasonable in all areas of this RP. Constant wins, successes and other positives will draw my attention.
  • Show maturity at all times. Childish actions will garner childish responses, and I can be one Hell of a kid If I want to be.
  • If you feel you could improve everyone's experience of the RP, yell it out in the OOC at any time, or contact me.

Sure, I'll throw in my interest. Thinking Dwarves or something of the sort. In any case, if I can, I'd like to claim(call dibs) on region 6.

Sounds good! I'd love to get involved in this! Lone Wanderer, if you're going for Dwarves, I was thinking of making a race of Dwarves with slight physical differences but significantly different cultural differences to your own. That is, if this picks up, and you wouldn't mind. Basically the smaller state next to your (I'm assuming much larger) nation. The overall idea being that the two nations distrust one another. This sound good, bad, ugly, or...?

The new elves. High elves. Violet eyed. Female skin as waxy over a thin amount of flesh, male skin as smooth leather. Color representing their noble family. The only remaining elves are noble, so each family is a different color. Only 1000 total elves, but all elite military strategists with any and all grunt work and even military being fought by Lower Elves, who had scaly skin and ebon eyes and were taught from birth that they are the less superior race and that their singular goal is to please the High Elves and never to seak to be pleased. Then below them, conquered slaves who were put in the mines and left to rot and die while scraping out as many resources as possible. That is what captured orcs would get. Here are some population estimates: High Elf (Oderi-Seni-Yadakomadri-in, they call each other Osya): 1,000 Low Elf (Loderkiav/Lo): 30,000 Slave (Skuv): 45,000 All persons are required to call those higher than them by their longest names including racial titles or face public flogging. People address those lower than them my their racial tag and little else, or sometimes just the first syllable. CLAIMING REGION 6

Loving the interest. Is Ultkana a bot? He/she seems like a bot to me. In any case i'll have a nation and race sheet up by tonight, so's you can all start planning your possible participation. I think we'll go medieval fantasy, though I'm still working out what kind of magic may be in use.

This sounds like a great idea. We can split the mountains, and it will certainly make it more interesting for our two nations. Intrigue abound. I'm fine with this.

"Stay on your side of the mountain!" "Screw you, this land belonged to us before it belonged to you." Etc, etc, etc... I could also have these Dwarves living in a region right next to the mountains; I was thinking of making these Dwarves a mix of nomads and settled peoples.

Glad to see things are already forming up between players, and that plans are already being made. @UltikanRe, sorry to break your balls, but Elves are gonna be a no-go in this RP, owing to the lore. I will however, permit Half-Elves, mixed with any race you may desire. The same applies to Orcs. Half-race variants are cool, but full blooded are not - they'd of gone with Gardul's sons when they fled Oshmar. Anyways, I'll get the species and nation sheets up before I go to sleep tonight. Gimme a few mins to dream one up. On the topic of magic, I'm going to limit it to D&D level. That is to say, fireballs, entrapment spells, augmentations, minor summoning etc but no doomsday spells. I'll elaborate on this a little more when the OOC develops into its finished form.

Is it alright if I can claim the River Basin. I'll probably go with an Orc, goblin(unless they Are the same thing) or an orc, dwarf race.

Okay, here's the Alpha Version of the Entry Sheet. Any following versions will be based on this, requiring early birds to only fill out any additional fields I may add. Any sheets submitted as I develop the OOC will be considered as "reservations", with regards to the regions.
Oshmar City State Entry Sheet
City State
Oshmar Region: 1 - 11 Name of Region: Name of City: Can be same as region's name. Visual Description of City: This is more for the benefit of other players, who may wish to visit in one form or another. City Population: City's Defences: Include any walls, strongpoints, keeps and castles it may have. This applies to any fortifications that guard the approaches to the city. Visual description for each defence of note may be handy for other players, so provide one if you can. Also include any siege engines that may be attached to the defences (think Minas Tirith from the cinematic lotr) City's Food Stores: If surrounded and cut off, how long could your city hold out in a siege? Say so in months. Obviously food stores fluctuate, but this figure will just be a general estimate. City's Garrison Capacity: How many soldiers are needed to man your city's defences so that they're at full capacity? City's Main Industries: What are your city's famed exports and produces? This can be anything, from metal craft to herbal medicine and scholars. City's Government: A brief description of how your city's government works. List of Towns: List any towns that occupy your region, outside the safety of the city. Descriptions and populations are welcome, however to reduce workload, I will simply allow names.
Race
Race Name: Race Leader: Name, rank/title Race Leader Physical Description: Race Leader Significant Traits: This is for when your race leader is a special being. For example, if you had a nation of wasp-like drones, your leader may be the Queen who upon dying, would render the rest of her kind mindless. Race Physical Description:
  • Male Appearances: : (If applicable)
  • Female Appearances: (If applicable)
Use of Magic: (Not required, if your race does not use it, then remove this section. Describe what your race does with it and how widespread it is amongst the population. Life Span: How long do they live for on average?
  • Male Lifespan: (If applicable)
  • Female Lifespan: (If applicable)
Reproduction Rate: Are they like rabbits? Or are they like the rare Snow Leopard? Describe how quickly their population is able to replicate. Include how long it takes for them to reach “adulthood” in Earth years. I.e, a human would be16-18 years of age to be considered an adult. Society: What kind of society do they operate? History: Can be brief, or long. The more the better. I've left a lot of Oshmar's history vague, to allow for some creative licence. Religion: Describe the type of Gods/God your people worship. Significant Racial Traits: List here anything you feel should be mentioned. For example, if your race cannot swim, or if they require a certain diet to thrive. Seafaring Capabilities: Is your race experienced at sea? Do they use ships, or do they swim? Other Information: Anything that has been missed, and you feel needs a mention.
Military
Types of Soldiers: List and describe the common types of soldiers used by your city-state. An example would be something like this:
  • Berserkers: Berserkers are drawn from the primitive tribes dwelling on the city's outskirts. They are a ferocious bunch, with deep beliefs in ancient warrior customs. Typically they wear no armour, and run into battle naked, however their flesh is covered in coloured war markings from head to toe. They use large swords and axes, and hurl themselves at their victims in a rage.
Call to Arms Capacity: If your nation was to declare a state of emergency, calling up every able bodied individual capable of serving in the ranks, how many soldiers would you expect to have access to? When deciding this figure, remember that someone has to remain at home to plough the fields, fire the forges and run things whilst they are away. Battle Doctrine: How do your armies fight? Give us a short introduction to your nation's combat tactics. Naval Presence: How many warships does your nation possess? And what are their functions? Example:
  • 39 Galleys, armed with balistas and capable of carrying a hundred men. They form the navy's core in battle.
  • 92 skiffs, lightly armed but quick. Used for harrying manouvers and to screen the advance of the galleys.

I can split regions, if players wish to share them. That's not a problem. I went with 11 because it seemed a fair number, and I didn't want for there to be too many NPC city states.

And I'm thinking of making a race of Orc/Wood Elves or dwarves as I said before. But as for magic, I would like them to utilize summoning Magic only. Is it alright if I do that. There military will comprise of these magic users and there summons, they will be called.....Orc Shamans!!!!
