Ai-yu hears Carl, and contemplates his offer for a moment. She doesn’t want Aruba to get hurt, and even though she’s fighting for the wrong side, Ai-yu still trusts her...so, does she really want to abandon her now?
Ai-yu doesn’t get much more time to think before more action is taken. Hypnosis is thrown at Aruba and Sephie, and some huge, dangerous-sounding Pokémon bursts out from behind them in the Corridor. Ai-yu squeaks and shuts her eyes.
Aruba tries to dodge the Hypnosis, but she’s hit anyway, because of the distraction of everything else going on around her. She keeps her hold tight on Ai-yu as she falls unconscious, hoping that at least if she were to hit the ground, the little Celebi, her friend, wouldn’t be hurt also.
“Huh? Hey!” Sephie cries after noticing Aruba and Ai-yu getting carried off. Before she can try to chase after Vanitas, the Hypnosis hits her. Sephie grimaces. “Ugh...great….Pipley...you-” She doesn’t get to say anything else before falling unconscious. Pipley rushes to her side, and with his speed, he manages to catch her before she hits the ground. For a moment, he stands there, holding her up, glancing between her and the new foe in front of them, Heat. Pipley knows what she would expect him to do right now...but, is it worth it? Really? Should he really wake this girl back up and possibly help continue what she was about to do, or face a particularly fierce Garchomp, who already has the type advantage on him?
….Then again, if Sephie did wake up, which she would inevitably do, and then found out that Pipley didn’t move to help her wake up first…
“Such bad choices, either of them...gah, it can’t be helped. I want to keep all of my limbs intact.” Pipley whimpers a bit, setting the girl down, but still keeping her propped up into something close to a sitting position with one arm. With his free paw, Pipley opens up Sephie’s bag, and searches through the berry pouch until he finds a Chesto Berry. He slices it up into smaller pieces with a claw, then drops them into Sephie’s throat, and waits.
“Mm...ugh...ack!” Sephie chokes a bit from the pieces that get stuck in her throat, but after a moment, she’s awake again. Sephie grins at Pipley.
“...I know you had second thoughts just now, but I want to praise you for making the right choice. Especially with this kind of beast on the battlefield now.” Sephie stands up and pats her Delphox on the head. He whines a little.
“R-right, Sephie...just...don’t get yourself hurt too bad, if you really insist on battling on your own. I would be glad to call any of our comrades in for you instead...I mean, you have magic, but your physique...so frail...” Pipley expresses his worry in his tone. Sephie gives him a calmer smile, though her hands are now glowing with magic power in green and purple colors.
“You can trust me, Pipley. If anything really happens, call the king.” She drops him that one slightly cryptic hint before, turning towards Heat. “Hmph...a good thrashing, eh? We’ll just see about that, my landshark-y adversary!....Eh?" Sephie blinks as soon as she realizes that Serph and Heat and locked in a battle, one-on-one, protected by a barrier.
Behind her, Pipley breathes a very small sigh of relief, and Sephie lets out a sigh.
"Tch, man...and I was so hoping to let loose, too...oh well. I guess it can wait for when things break out and get even worse, eh?" Sephie winks at Pipley, and because of her comment, Pipley is sent back into concerned fear...
Ai-yu has her eyes squeezed shut the whole time she’s pulled through the Corridor, but she’s not as scared as she would be alone. Even though Aruba is unconscious, her protective, cradling hold on the little shiny Celebi is still as strong as it had been. Ai-yu waits to open her eyes 2 full minutes after hearing talking, afraid of what she might see. When she does, she’s greeted with the sight of Vanitas, Serran, Spookton, Darkclaw, and the formidable (but extremely cold-looking) Montainum.
“Much appreciated, Vanitas...I see that Aruba here was going after quite the prize.” Montainum eyes Ai-yu, which causes her to try and hide herself further in Aruba’s arms.
“Should I take her to the cells? I’m sure Violetta would put another magic barrier up on a cage for this…” Darkclaw offers.
“No...I don’t want this one in the cells. In fact...I think I want this one interrogated first. We could use her power in our force, as another legendary...and, Vanitas...would I be correct in saying this one is Trained? If so, I have to wonder how a pitiful creature like a Trainer would tame a legendary…” Montainum doesn’t lift his piercing gaze from Ai-yu. “Let’s just call Violetta here.”
“Right, sir.” Darkclaw cackles a bit. “Vanitas here is right. We should have Violetta look over their possible wounds first anyway. I’m sure that Mismagius would do it with the utmost glee…”
Meanwhile, down in the cages, Tatakumei has curled up in one of the far corners of her prison, using her red scarf as a sort of shabby blanket as she rests up. She can’t bring herself to close her eyes, but at the very least, she’s reached her limit on fighting against her cage bars, and cannot go without resting herself up anymore. In her dazed state between fatigue and unconsciousness, she’s halfway aware of the fact that her paws are bleeding...
Rythian and his own two friends follow the little Eevee, up until they reach Ventus. Rythian waits until everyone’s introduced, then bows. “A pleasure to meet you. Glad to see that Aqua’s been taken care of in my absence. I was a childhood friend of hers, but certain circumstances forced us to part.”
“Yeah, good to meet ya, human guy!” Mystarii grins up at Ventus.
“He has a name, Mystarii! We were just told it not even a minute ago!” Electricia huffs at her friend, then tips her hat to Ventus. “As Ry here said, it’s a pleasure to meet what looks like a decent human. The last one I met threw a pokeball at my face.”
“I remember that.” Rythian chuckles. “You had a black eye for a bit. It was the most depressing, heart-wrenching thing I’d seen in awhile, because of how...well, how small and cute Pichus naturally are…”
“Hmph...sure, I might look cute, but you know I pack a punch!” Electricia replies.
At that moment, there was rustling from a bush nearby. Mystarii and Electricia stay behind Rythian as what appears to be the ghost of a shiny Meowstic steps out into the clearing. Behind her, a grinning Sylveon. The Meowstic perks up just a bit upon seeing Rythian and the others.
“Oh...well, hello there.” Sachiko murmurs.
“Hey, it’s the human we thought we sensed earlier!” Euphoria examines Ventus for a moment, then her grin grows upon seeing Rythian and his two friends. “Ah! Hiiiiiii, guys! Nice to see you again!”
“Oi, those are Sephie’s Pokemon!” Mystarii points out.
“That must mean she’s around here somewhere too…” Electricia smirks. “Ah, that girl...ehehehe….”
Rythian doesn’t make any comment, as he’s caught in an unnerving staring contests of sorts with Euphoria. Sachiko notices this, and narrows her eyes slightly.
“Euphoria…what did Raven and I tell you?” Sachiko’s voice is still a bit whispery and quiet, like you’d expect from a ghost.
“Yeah, I knoooow….I’m still a little injured, so I shouldn’t seriously play with anyone right now…” Euphoria looks a bit disappointed, but then quickly flips back into a grin, looking back at Rythian. “But, later, when I’m better, maybe I could play with you, Rythian!”
“U-um….” Rythian doesn’t know what words won’t put him into a bad situation here...
