The Next Morning
The Khan finished his feast of a brunch in the study all by himself. Doning a vintage blue coat and under a white button down and white pants, he ran his hand through his messy hair that was a little longer than he usually liked. He looked around wondering where everybody was soon realizing he was in the study eating and now the great hall where he had announced to go that morning. Oh well a brunch in peace wouldn't hurt. Especially since he was sure he would get bombarded by the duelists today. He woke them up with a soft melody and then announced brunch would be held in the hall today as well as that the contestants favorite monsters were allowed to converse with their counterpart freely now. He walked into the hall with a wide grin on his face as he looked over all the duelists devouring french toast, eggs, sausage, rice, etc. Then he walked into the center of the room and stomped his Italian shoe once. The thundering noise ceased all conversation immediately as an eerie silence fell over the grand hall. The massive man took in the view of all the eyes on him and then took a deep breath of satisfaction. "Hello and good morning duelists. Welcome to your first day in Shambala!" He said smiling and turning in a circle to face all the duelists. "Today is a very special day. It is the first official day of the 100th anniversary Battle City Tournament! Hopefully you are all acquainted with your monsters. They feel rather attached to you I must say. However the goal of today is to duel not babble on about unimportant luxuries. Each of your monster has a for lack of better words. Soul. When you lose a duel a piece of your monsters soul will be taken by your opponent and absorbed by their monster. You may notice that a monster lacking soul looks. Well, sickly. This is just for effect, the more soul your monster had the better it looks and feels! Each monster can lose a bit of their soul 2 times. If your monster loses all of it's soul, you are eliminated from the tournament and will be escorted out of Shambala." He said winking. "Hope you all enjoyed brunch if you need me I will be either around or in the casino room! Happy dueling." He said with a sly tone to his voice. He then walked out of the hall and down the hallway and around the corner towards the casino room.

Moros didn't like the thought of his king getting sick and dying. That would be very sad, he had known the king only one night and it was already his best friend, he started looking around to see if there was anyone he recognized.

Press was enjoying a nice egg and bacon sandwich with some milk when the Khan appeared. The Khan made his introduction and explained the dueling system, which made Press curious. He looked at his Superdimensional Robot Galaxy Destroyer and wondered what would happen if his monster were to become "sickly". Well, only one way to find out. He finished off his breakfast and looked around to see who would be his first opponent. His eye was caught by the sight of Korbin Okiyama. A fellow Pro Duelist... well, that certainly wouldn't be a bad choice, but perhaps he shouldn't be overly hasty.
Alexander was enjoying some French toast and a glass of orange juice when the Khan made his introduction and explained the dueling system. He looked at his Big Bankai, concerned to see that it might become sickly. Well then, all the more reason not to lose. His eye was wary as he scanned the other duelists, trying to judge them to see if any of them were strong enough to worry him.

Korbin and Alice Okiyama were sitting side by side at the long table, finally together again. They were making small talk after a year apart, Alice taking the lead in the conversation and Korbin more or less listening, contributing with a comment every now and then. Both were eating light breakfasts, with small portions of bacon, eggs, and pancakes to fill just a little of their plate. Michael, Lightsworn Lord was standing behind Alice, peering around the table at the monsters behind each duelist. Alice was a little uneasy about all of the monster holograms, as she had never seen anything like it. "How do you think The Khan managed to do that?" She asked Korbin. She didn't wait to answer and continued to tell him about school and things. Korbin meanwhile was looking around the table, sizing up his opponents like Michael was. Cyber Twin Dragon had it's body wrapped around Korbin, with it's head split and hovering above his shoulders. He was scanning the table too. Alright, Korbin thought. I'm done eating. We came here to duel, didn't we? What are we doing sitting around? The left head of Cyber Twin Dragon made a quiet hissing sound, and Korbin looked to where it's head was pointed. A duelist had been looking at him, one that Korbin knew of: Press Dalton, known as the Cyborg Duelist. Korbin's eyes met his, and his hand started to finger the controls of the Duel Disk attached firmly to his arm. Along with himself and perhaps the Khan, Press was one of the best duelists here. He took a glance around the table before standing up. "Alice, you're a polite person. Would it be good table manners to play card games while eating?" Cyber Twin Dragon unwrapped itself from Korbin's body and stretched to it's full length to face Press's hologram monster from across the table, Superdimensional Robot Galaxy Destroyer. "Well, if you're eating it's better to..." Alice tried to answer, looking over to Press and sighed. "Korbin, you're going to be careless and lose this tournament the first day. Why don't you relax and try to enjoy yourself?" Korbin shook his head and activated his Duel Disk. "I came to duel," he said curtly to his sister. "Press, are you just going to stare, or do you want to give these people a show?" He projected his voice across the table.

The Khan's announcement had been made, and almost immediately the duelists got up from their table to scout the area for other duelists they thought would make for good challenges. Finishing up the rest of his breakfast in a few, large bites, he went to do the same, Kerykeion floating by his side to aid him. "Well well, looks like somebody decided to make return!" Lyall exclaimed as he motioned his head towards a familiar face. Korbin Okiyama, a well known professional within the dueling world. You know this one? Kerykeion asked with some amusement. Lyall nodded. The guy had been invited to at least one tournament in Aria City, and Lyall remembered Korbin taking one of the top places with relative ease. He wasn't that much of a good sport about it though, and was really quite a braggart about it. "I'd love to challenge him, but it seems somebody else has beaten us to it." Lyall sighed as he saw Press and Korbin face each other and size each other up. He turned, then observed the rest of the Hall until Kerykeion drew his attention to another duelist in particular. A girl, she didn't look like she was having much look finding someone to duel either. Interesting, she seems to be quite the fiery one. Challenge her, I think it shall definitely make for a good duel, for the both of you. "Cool. Hey!" Lyall waved towards Rin with a smile. "Seems like neither of us are having much luck in finding an opponent, so how about we duel each other here and now before the opportunity passes us by?" --- Rin glanced at the young man coming towards her, unsre of what to think. True, she had come here as part of the tournament and had expected to be dueling, but before she had even taken a bite to eat...? That was just low. She had woken up a tad late and all, so she was partially at fault in the end... But she wasn't here to treat the palace like a hotel. This was to be grounds fra tournament and to duel. her stomach growled a bit, but Rin shook it off and looked over the person again. Lswarms? At this point in the match. Sighing, Rin turned to the Volcanic Doomfire behind her in hopes of a response. The monster let out a puff of smoke, and Rin let a small smile inch its way onto her face. It felt like that was encouragement to battle, if anything. "Alright, I guess." she stated, a fire igniting in her eyes as she fully extended her duel disk and turned towards him. "I'll let you have the first move." --- "Excellent. I'm Lyall, pleased to be your opponent," he said with a bow of his head. He placed his hand on the center of his duel disk, causing it to activate and change from its forearm ornament form into a sleek, steely looking disk that glowed red and orange. Since he was taking first turn, he drew six cards and after a cursory glance, began to play them. "Since I control no monsters, I'll special summon Steelswarm Cell in defense position." Lyall placed the card sideways on his disk, causing a small, black beetle (that was apparently trying to curl up into a ball) to materialize in the air before them. "Now I'll normal summon Evilswarm Thunderbird, set two in my backrow, and end." --- "My name's Rin. The feeling is mutual. I draw." she responded, drawing a card from her deck. "First things first, I'll activate Pot of Duality." Rin said, drawing 3 cards and revealing them to her opponent. Vanity's Emptiness, Phoenix Wing Wind Blast and another Pot of Duality. "I'll add Vanity's Emptiness to my hand and shuffle the other two back into the deck." she said, slipping the two cards back into herdeck before shuffling. "Next, I'll play Volcanic Rocket." Rin continued, playing the card from her hand as a pterodactyl-esque creature cloaked in flames appeared in front of her. "This card lets me add one Blaze Accelerator card from my deck to my hand; I'll add Reload." she continued, pulling the card from her deck to her hand. "Battle Phase. I attack Cell with my Rocket." --- "Chain, Compulsory Evacuation Device," Lyall said as he waved his hand over one of the cards. A strange device rose from the ground before the path of the incoming Rocket, and the monster flew straight into the machine which promptly blasted it back to its owner hand. Cell was safe, for now. --- "...Hmph. Alright. During my Main Phase 2, I'll set 3 cards and end my turn. Your move." --- "Before your turn ends, I'll chain Mystical Space Typhoon and destroy the card to your far left!" One of Lyall's set cards rose upwards, revealing the spell card that let out a twister of wind that struck the card and destroyed it. The card was a Phoenix Wing Wind Blast. "Now I'll draw," he said doing just that, "And I'll tribute my Steelswarm Cell for Steelswarm Moth!" The beetle disappeared instantly as Lyall's monster descended from above, bringing with it heavy winds that were attempting to blow away Rin's two backrows. "By paying 1000 lifepoints, I can have my monster send two cards you control back to the hand. Now I'll start my battlephase! Moth, Thunderbird, attack!" --- "My turn then." Rin stated, glancing at her life points warily. "I'll draw." "Main Phase. I activate Snatch Steal; target is Moth." she stated as a giant hand extended out from her side of the field and plucked Steelswarm Moth from Lyall's field and dropped it onto hers. "Battle Phase. I attack Thunderbird with Moth." she continued, sending the stolen monster to attack the flying bird. Rin turned away as the monster shattered into oblivion before continuing. "Main Phase 2. I'll set 4 cards and pass. Your move." she ended, smirking. Stealing that big boss monster at this point in the game could only end so well. --- "That doesn't look good!" Lyall exclaimed as Snatch Steal worked its magic. Steelswarm Moth, now on Rin's side of the field, attacked Thunderbird with a stream of malevolent energy, blowing the poor Evilswarm to pieces. Lyall's lifepoints were now at 6250, though during his standby phase they were raised by 1000 points due to Snatch Steal. --- "Nice moves," Lyall complimented as Rin ended her turn. Drawing his card, she activated two of her cards, Reload and Vanity's Emptiness. He wasn't so much concerned of the former than he was the latter, that thing pretty much put a dent in a big part of his strategy. No matter, it was good to see this girl proved more of a challenge than he initially expected. "I'll summon Evilswarm Kerykeion and activate its ability, banishing Thunderbird from my graveyard to retrieve Steelswarm Cell." The monster planted one staff on the ground, the Gishki Aquamirror which showed the reflection of Thunderbird. Kerykeion raised the Cadeucus staff high in the air, releasing power into the ground that dug up Thunderbird and caused it to disappear from view. Another tendril of energy reached down into the pit and pulled Cell, returning it to Lyall's hand. "All I can do for now, so I'll end." --- "I draw." Rin stated as she glanced at the Kerykeion on the field. It seemed... Different from the othermonsters he had played prior. "Battle Phase. I attack with Steelswarm Moth." she continued as the monster attacked Kerykeion, destroying it before returning to it's original position. "End. Your turn." she smirked. At this point, Lyall would probably be forced to play quite defensively; the LP gain was a bit annoying, but she could get over that eventually. Vanity's was causing trouble, so all Lyall did was set a monster facedown to protect his lifepoints from further damage. Rin smirked as her intuition was spot-on. Activating the effect of Volcanic Shell, she winced as the fire of her cards burnt her a bit as she added another Volcanic Shell to her hand. "Effect of Reload. I'll discard Shell and draw a card." she stated, dropping Shell in the grave and drawing a card from the top of her deck. "I'll attack your facedown with Steelswarm Moth." she continued as the monter shot anoter attack out at the set card. The monster underneath, Castor, was destroyed on the spot. "I'll summon Summoner Monk; it goes to Defense Position when it's Normal Summoned or Set. With that, I'll end my turn." Another 1000 lifepoints, but right now Lyall would have preferred to be taking damage instead of having his stuff blocked off by Rin's trap card. His new draw though... hopefully it would come in handy. Castor had been lost to Moth's attack, but now Lyall had a new monster to use. "Summon, Steelswarm Sting. Now, attack Summoner Monk!" --- The hornet buzzed loudly as it dashed towards the spellcaster and stabbed him straight through the body with its large, metal stinger. With that thing destroyed, Emptiness left the field, and Lyall passed his turn. "My field was actually getting a bit clogged. Thanks for that. I draw." Rin smirked as she played a spell card from her hand. "I activate Magic Planter; I'll send Reload to the grave and draw two cards." she stated as the machine blew itself up. Smiling, she took two cards from the top of her deck before continuing. "I'll summon Volcanic Rocketand add Reload to my hand. Next, I'll activate Pot of Duality." she stated before drawing and revealing the top 3 cards of her deck; Wild Fire, Scattershot and Counter. Perfect. "I'll add Scattershot to my hand." "Battle Phase. I attack Sting with Rocket and direct with Moth." she said confidently as the Rocket ran straight through Sting and Moth shot Lyall head-on. "Main Phase 2. I set one card; pass." --- Things weren't looking as good as he wanted them to be, with that Snatch Steal in play Lyall's weaker monsters couldn't get at Rin's lifepoints directly, either because of Moth acting as a wall or because of it destroying them by the next turn. He might as well try this. "I special summon Cell again, then tribute it for Girastag." At least, that had been the plan before Rin activated Solemn Warning. --- Rin bit her lip as Solemn Warning took effect, taking her LP down to a measly 1450 as she watched Lyall set two cards and end his turn. Given the circumstances, it was probably over... "My turn. I draw." she stated as she eyed the two set cards in Lyall's backfield. Well, even if she did get hit by something like a Mirror Force she could probably survive for a while longer. "I activate Call of the Haunted!" she yelled, bringing back Volcanic Rocket from the Graveyard to stand alongside theother two monsters already standing by on the field. "Battle Phase. Everyone attack directly!" she said, a smile on her lips and fire burning in her eyes as they fired off one after the other. "Main Phase 2- I overlay my two Volcanic Rockets for Gagaga Cowboy. I'll detach one Rocket and dirct for 800 damage- just enough to finish you off. That's game." she said as she watched Steelswarm Moth fly back over to Lyall's side and seemed to offer an apology. Rin shrugged and turned to Doomfre, who seemed to have been pleased by the outcome of the duel as it drew energy from Kerykeion and into itself. Its flames seemed to grow brighted an it let out a stream of fire into the air before patting Rin on the back. --- Lyall accepted Moth's apology with a smile and nod of his head. It was... disappointing he lose his first duel in this tournament, but it wasn't so much of a blow to him as it was to his monsters. "Heh, it's alright, that's just the way it goes sometimes," Lyall said as he glanced over at Rin and Doomfire. "Good duel, I trust you'll do well in your other matches!" Lyall turned towards his monster, Kerykeion, and the holograms around them dissipated as they both walked away. Kerykeion seemed to be supporting itself with one of its staff, no doubt weakened from the drain of energy that happened as they lost. The monster looked up at Lyall and nodded in response to a mental question. "Are you alright?" "Good, hang in there. We have at least one more duel to make up for this loss, but if not..." Then that's just the way it goes sometimes, Kerykeion said, repeating Lyall's words in agreement. Besides, you do have more... important business to attend to here after all, this tournament was just a bonus for you. "Quite, I need to speak personally with the Khan about that stuff. After our duels though."

Korbin Okiyama (StarInaBox) vs Press Dalton (Scarifar)
Press smirked. Well, seemed like Korbin made up his mind, and Press decided that he should too. "You asked for it!" Press shouted back. He raised his left arm as if a Duel Disk was already on his arm, and his arm transformed, various bits and bobs popping in and out to form his modified Duel Disk. Turn 1: Press / 8000 : Korbin / 8000 Korbin activated his Duel Disc and drew his opening hand. "Duel Disc, record." A small camera popped out of the dome of the disc to record the duel. "For future reference," he explained. "You can go first, if you'd like." "Alright then, here we go," Press said. "Draw!" He drew his first card and examined, along with the rest of his hand. He knew exactly what to do. "I play the Field Spell: 'Revolving Switchyard'!" Press declared as the area around them changed, train tracks all around them. "Now I Summon 'Night Express Knight'." Press said as a silver knight riding a small train appeared on the field. "It's a Level 10 monster, but I can Summon it without tributes as long as I make its ATK 0." Press explained. "Now the effect of 'Revolving Switchyard' activates! When a Level 10 EARTH Machine-type monster is Normal or Special Summoned to my field, I can Special Summon a Level 4 EARTH Machine-type monster from my deck, and make its Level 10. Now, come out, 'Ruffian Railcar'!" From one of the multiple train tracks, a red train appeared and positioned itself next to 'Night Express Knight'. "I activate 'Ruffian Railcar's' effect! Once per turn, I can inflict 500 points of damage to my opponent." The red train then drove straight ahead towards Korbin, swerving at the last second, but still landing a glancing blow and dealing 500 damage. As the train returned to Press' side of the field, Press said, "Now that I have 2 Level 10 monsters on my field, I suppose I should construct the Overlay Network." A black swirling hole opened in the sky, and Press' monsters became purplish orbs of energy that shot up into the black hole. "Xyz Summon! Rank 10! 'Superdreadnought Rail Cannon Gustav Max'!" In the monsters' place, a gigantic cannon with a long steel barrel appeared, its DEF registering as 3000. "I activate the effect of my 'Cannon'! By detaching one Xyz Material, I can inflict 2000 points of damage!" As one of the orbs orbiting the cannon disappeared, the cannon lowered its barrel and fired, the shot hitting Korbin. "I place two cards face down, and activate the effect of 'Ruffian Railcar', the Xyz Material I detached," Press said. "During the End Phase, if it was sent to the Graveyard, I can add 1 Level 10 EARTH Machine-type monster from my deck to my hand." The card then popped out of Press' deck, and Press revealed it to Korbin, saying, "That monster is 'Night Express Knight'. Now, I end my turn." Turn 2: Press / 8000 : Korbin / 5500 Alice was frowning next to Korbin as she watched Press's first turn. "One Rank 10 Xyz Monster on his first turn, 2500 Life Points in effect damage..." Alice's pulse was quickened at the site of the duel. She took a sip of water and sighed. "Korbin, this is my first time seeing you in a year, and I swear if you lock yourself in your room..." Korbin glanced over at his sister. "Please, Alice. He's all show." He turned his attention back to the duel. "Draw!" He immediately played the card. "I'll activate Mystical Space Typhoon, which will let me destroy a Spell or Trap Card on the field. I'll choose your Face-Down." A greenish tornado sprang from Korbin's side of the field and swept up the Face-Down in the third Spell/Trap position, shattering it in to nothing." Press couldn't help but feel dismay. Sure, the one he destroyed was of little consequence, but that was his 'Special Schedule' Spell Card. He couldn't use its effect when it got destroyed because he lacked the cards to do so. "Hmph, no big deal," Press said. "You got anything else up your sleeve?" "You'll see. I Special Summon 'Cyber Dragon.'" The silvery, metal Dragon appeared on the field, miniscule in comparison to the opposing 'Superdreadnought.' "When you control a monster while I don't, 'Cyber Dragon' can be Special Summoned from my hand. Now, I'll Summon 'Cyber Dragon Core.'" Next to 'Cyber Dragon', a black, serpentine monster with red tentacles protruding from it's body appeared. "When 'Cyber Dragon Core' is Normal Summoned, I get to add a 'Cyber' or 'Cybernetic' Spell or Trap Card from my deck to my hand. I'll choose 'Cyber Repair Unit.'" Korbin grabbed the card that protruded from his deck upon announcement, adding it to his hand. "Next, I'll play 'Power Bond.' 'Power Bond' will allow me to Fusion Summon a monster, and I choose 'Cyber Twin Dragon!'" 'Cyber Dragon Core's' red tentacles began to wrap around 'Cyber Dragon'. Both monsters roared as they glowed white and began to join at the tail, growing to almost twice their size. Then, the white glow seemed to shatter off of them as 'Cyber Twin Dragon' appeared on the field, staring menacingly at Press with serpentine eyes. "What an underwhelming attack stat it has compared to your 'Superdreadnought.' It's a good thing that 'Power Bond' fixes that. You see, when Fusion Summoning with 'Power Bond', the monster's attack gets doubled. This makes 'Cyber Twin Dragon's' attack skyrocket to 5600!" Press glared at the dragon. He knew exactly what 'Power Bond' did, as well as 'Cyber Twin Dragon's' devastating effect, but that didn't make him any less concerned. He had to think fast, or else he'd suffer the consequences. The heads of 'Cyber Twin Dragon's' tongues flocked dangerously, anticipating the Battle Phase, ready to taste blood. "Alright, let's get on with it. 'Cyber Twin Dragon', attack Superdreadnaught." The left head of 'Cyber Twin Dragon' reared it's head, then quickly swung it forward, firing from it a powerful beam of energy that hit 'Superdreadnought' right in it's center. Upon impact, the massive cannon shattered in to billions of glowing white bits. "Now it's your turn, Press. 'Cyber Twin Dragon's' effect let's it attack twice in the Battle Phase. Now, attack!" The right head of 'Cyber Twin Dragon' repeated the motion of the left, firing the same beam of energy straight at Press. "I activate my Trap Card: 'Metal Reflect Slime'!" Press shouted, raising his face down, which then Summoned a spiky steel ball-like thing, its DEF also registering as 3000. "This Summons a Trap Monster onto my field, stopping me from taking any damage." "No matter. I'll just get your 'Metal Reflect Slime' out of the way and wait for my next turn." 'Cyber Twin Dragon' fired his energy beam once again, bringing to 'Metal Reflect Slime' the same fate as it did 'Superdreadnought.' "With that, I'll set one card and end my turn, taking the effect damage from 'Power Bond', reducing my Life Points to 2700." Turn 3: Press / 8000 : Korbin / 2700 "Draw!" Press shouted as he drew his next card. Not a card that would help him this turn, but he did have other options. "I activate the other effect of 'Revolving Switchyard'! By discarding one card, I can then add one Level 10 EARTH Machine-type monster to my hand." He sent a card to his grave, then grabbed the card that was ejected from his deck. "The card I chose was 'Heavy Freight Train Derricrane'," Press revealed, flipping the card to show Korbin for a second before putting it into his hand. "Now, I Summon 'Night Express Knight', reducing its ATK to 0." The train-riding knight appeared o to the field, its ATK briefly registering as 3000 before getting shot down to 0. "And since I Summoned an EARTH Machine-type monster, I can now Special Summon 'Heavy Freight Train Derricrane' from my hand, but its ATK and DEF are halved," Press explained as another train appeared next to 'Night Express Knight', it's ATK registering as 2800 before getting reduced to 1400. "I once again construct the Overlay Network!" Press shouted as the two monsters shot into the black hole. "Xyz Summon! Rank 10! 'Skypalace Gangaridai'!" Press yelled as a giant purple skyship appeared, its ATK registering as 3400. "I'll activate the Trap Card, 'Compulsary Evacuation Device.' This card let's me return a monster on the field back to their owner's hand, or in this case, your 'Skypalace Gangaridae back to your Extra Deck." A cannon-like device appeared under 'Skypalace Gangaridai', sucking it inside with a powerful vortex and shooting it as a black orb back in to Press's Extra Deck. Press snapped his fingers in frustration. Things weren't looking so good. "I place two cards face-down and end my turn," he said. Turn 4: Press / 8000 : Korbin / 2700 "Alright, draw." Korbin drew his card and placed it down in to his hand, ready to end this duel. "I'll get right to it then. 'Cyber Twin Dragon', attack Press directly!" Cyber Twin Dragon roared in triumph and slithered forward, ready to tear Press limb from limb. "I activate a Trap card: 'Compulsory Evacuation Device'!" Press quickly said, the same cannon that removed 'Skypalace' also removing 'Cyber Twin Dragon'. "Cards like those are a dime a dozen, you know," Press said. "Very nice," Korbin commented. "I guess that ends that. I'll go to my Main Phase 2, and summon Cyber Valley." A smaller version of 'Cyber Dragon' with red orbs down both sides of it's body appeared on his side of the field. "Now I'll activate 'Machine Duplication.' With it, I can Special Summon up to two other monsters that share the same name as a Machine-Type monster that I control, as long as it has less than 500 Attack." Two other 'Cyber Valley's' materialized next to the first. "Now I'll set one card face-down and end my turn." Turn 5: Press / 8000 : Korbin / 2700 "Draw!" Press yelled as he drew his next card. Well, what a touch of irony. Press smiled as he said, "During my Standby Phase, by sending the top card of my deck to the Graveyard, I can Summon the Level 1 Tuner monster 'Glow-Up Bulb' from my Graveyard!" A little white flower with a single eye below it appeared onto the field. "I also banish 'Cyber End Dragon' from my Extra deck in order to summon 'Malefic Cyber End Dragon'!" A corrupted version of the three headed mechanical dragon appeared in front of Press, its ATK registering as 4000. "With these two monsters, I can now perform a Synchro Summon!" Press said as the two monsters flew up into the air, the flower turning into a single green ring that surrounded the three headed dragon. "Come forth, 'Star Eater'!" Press shouted as a dark red dragon appeared. "Battle Phase! 'Star Eater', attack 'Cyber Valley'!" Press declared, the dragon unleashing a wave of flame from its mouth, attacking the one in Attack Position. Korbin didn't flinch as his monster was obliterated by 'Star Eater's' attack. "Now, 'Cyber Valley's' ability will take effect. Before damage, I can banish 'Cyber Valley' and end the Battle Phase before I take any damage. I'm also allowed to draw one card." He swiped a card from the top of his deck promptly. Press expected that to happen, but Press took a risk and it went out as planned. "The card that 'Glow-Up Bulb' sent to the grave is 'Ruffian Railcar', and its effect activates on my End Phase, allowing me to add one 'Night Express Knight' from my deck to my hand," Press explained, the card ejecting itself from his deck, which Press took and placed it into his hand. "Turn End." Turn 6: Press / 8000 : Korbin / 2700 "Draw!" Korbin drew his card, getting a little nervous about the Duel. Constantly, the dominant side of the field was switching between the two of them, and it made Korbin uneasy. I guess I should have expected this... He thought. "I'll Summon another 'Cyber Dragon Core.'" The thin 'Cyber Dragon'-esque monster graced the field once more as Korbin summoned it. "Now, I'll add 'Cyber Repair Unit' to my hand using 'Cyber Dragon Core's' effect. Next, I'll activate 'Machine Duplication,' and target 'Cyber Dragon Core' to summon two 'Cyber Dragon's' from my deck. Now, with all 5 of my monster's, I'll Fusion Summon from my Extra Deck 'Chimeratech Fortress Dragon!'" All 5 monsters on Korbin's side seemed to merge in to the middle Monster Zone, all growing into the massive 'Chimeratech Fortress Dragon.' "'Chimeratech Fortress Dragon' enters the field with Attack equal to the number of monster's summoned times 1000, giving him 5000 Attack! Now, I'll go to my Battle Phase. 'Chimeratech Fortress Dragon', attack 'Star Eater!'" As 'Star Eater' shot out another wave of flame to combat the machine, Press looked at his last face-down. "I never liked this card..." Press muttered, then said, "I activate my Trap Card: 'Skill Drain'!" By paying 1000 Life Points, I can negate the effects of all face-up monsters on the field!" 'Chimeratech Fortress Dragon's' ATK shot down from 5000 to 0 as it was struck by the flames. The mechanical dragon struggled, but it was ultimately no match and perished, bringing Korbin's Life Points to 0. Press let out a sigh of relief. He was worried there, but ultimately he prevailed. He went over to Korbin and extended his right hand for a handshake. "Good Duel," Press said. "Good luck next time, huh?" Korbin shut his eyes and turned off his Duel Disk. His hands balled up in to fists, and the hologram of 'Cyber Twin Dragon' wrapped around Korbin defensively, hissing at Press. Alice then stood up and stomped her foot in annoyance. "Korbin, come on! It was a good duel, you did fine, now shake his hand and tell him you had fun!" Korbin opened his eyes, and 'Cyber Twin Dragon' backed away from all of them. Korbin looked at his shoes in shame and weakly shook Press's hand. "You did good..." Press smiled when his handshake was returned, and looked at Korbin's monster. His eyes flashed with concern. "Wow, he wasn't kidding when he said our monsters would look sickly," Press said. The 'Cyber Twin Dragon' seemed to look thinner, and didn't seem to shine as much as it did before. "Hm?" He released Press's hand and looked over his shoulder, his eyes widening slightly in surprise at 'Cyber Twin Dragon's' drooping heads. "Hmph." He turned back to Press. "Well, at least it's not real." Alice growled at Korbin. "You know, I wish you would care a little bit more, Korbin. You're one loss away from getting sent home, and it's only the first day!" Korbin turned and walked away, his hologram monster following behind. "Then I guess I better not lose." Alice rolled her eyes. "Sorry about Korbin, Press. He takes this game way too seriously..." "To be fair, he's a Pro Duelist," Press said. "It's his job, and if he's not good at it, he'll be fired." He smiled and said, "You should focus on winning too. It'd be a shame if you got kicked out of the tournament." He turned and began to walk away, his 'Superdimensional Robot Galaxy Destroyer' following him. He turned back briefly and said, "Good luck!" then continued walking away.

The girl looked on with wide eyes as the host of the tournament explained the basics of the competition. Her monster, Madolche Puddingcess, sat daintily on her left shoulder, her face just forming into a shocked expression with all the talk about this 'soul' stuff. Miwa's expression turned grim and somber, she couldn't let that happen! No, it was settled, she will NEVER let such a thing happen! The princess stood up and floated in front of the girl's face and gave her a reassuring look, "Those are but mere threats, Mistress. Nothing but an incentive to win!" She was right, Miwa nodded at the princess'words as the other duelists began to search for their opponents, and even if she was scared, Miwa had to win this thing! No more chickening out.
The boy's morning started unlike any other, with his monster almost tearing him to shreds when he wouldn't wake up. For a moment, Kenta had some slight déjà vu as these events took place, he could have sworn something similar happened to him at one point in his life...But he discarded the thought and went to the hall, breakfast was ready, his monster said. Kenta wolfed down several plates of food, only stopping once there was a modest pile of plates in front of him. Soon, the host came in and everything was explained...Both Kenta and Heraklinos' faces turned into that of terror. The hybrid beastman growling with anger at the very thought of losing. "Don't worry, kiddo. I'll make sure that won't happen." giving the boy a light pat on the back. Kenta gave him a silly grin in reply as they sought out a new opponent.

Alexander was interested to see that Duels were starting already. Watching the one between the two machine decks, though, got him wondering who he was going to face. Finishing off his breakfast, he started to wander and look around, wondering who his next opponent was going to be. Big Benkei followed him, as other peoples' monsters did.

Alice gave a small smile and waved to Press Dalton as he walked away. She then turned back to dining table, with duelists leaving their seats to find opponents. The table looked incredibly messy, and it irked her to just leave dirty dishes behind like she was. "They have, like, maids or something here, right?" 'Michael, Lightsworn Lord's' booming voice echoed behind her: "Perhaps so. It's not your business anyways. You should take advantage of the situation and get some relaxation in." Alice jumped in surprise when she heard 'Michael's' voice. "Man, I need to get used to you..." She sighed. "Alright then. Let's see what Regno Ricco has to offer, shall we?" She began walking, with 'Michael' in tow. "I wonder where Korbin went... He better not have locked himself in his room."
Korbin was, in fact, not in his room. He was actually doing what his sister was beginning to do: Explore the city. Occasionally, as he walked, he would look over his shoulder at his wilting 'Cyber Twin Dragon.' He mentally slapped himself each time he did, reminding himself that it was just a hologram. It's not anything to get worked up about, he said to himself each time. Even still, he would still catch himself observing his monster every now and then. After only two minutes of walking, 'Cyber Twin Dragon' hissed in distress behind him. "What? What is it?" Korbin asked, turning around. "Tired..." The hologram complained. "Oh, for God's sake..." He looked around and spotted a bench. He nodded and made his way for it. "You can not be that tired after only one duel... If you can make it to the bench, you can rest." 'Cyber Twin Dragon' nodded, then lazily made his way to the bench, coiling itself behind the bench.

@Scarifar Moros had been carefully eying the competition and had selected his target for the first duel. The duelist in question had an awesome looking amorued samurai following him and looked like he was a cool guy. Honestly Moros was scared of some of the other duelists so he decided that this would be a perfect warm-up match. Probably more of a warm-up for his opponent then for Moros himself but he had no doubt it would be fun. Moros stood up from his table and walked over and made direct eye contact, he had read somewhere that that was the proper conduct for starting a duel and said, "I challenge you to be my first opponent in this event!" His king floated behind looking somewhat embarrassed to be seen with the energetic young duelist.

Alexander was suddenly confronted by another duelist who so brazenly challenged him out of nowhere. He raised an eyebrow, then replied, "Alright then, I suppose you'll be my first opponent." Turning on his Duel Disk, he raised it up and stepped back to allow room for the Duel.
Moros VS Alexander
Turn 1: Moros / 8000 : Alexander / 8000 "I'll go first. Draw!" Alexander said as he drew his first card. Examining the cards in his hands, he thought for a second, then said, "I Summon 'Superheavy Samurai Blue Brawler'." A large blue golem appeared in front of Alexander, appearing as if it was ready to attack before switching to a defensive position. "When 'Blue Brawler' is Summoned, I can change its battle position," Alexander explained. "Now, turn end." Turn 2: Moros / 8000 : Alexander / 8000 Moros quietly drew a card, he saw no point in announcing his movement, it was obvious what he was doing. He grinned when he saw his trusty go-to defense monster. "I'll Set one monster face-down and end my turn." he stated simply. He was unimpressed by his opponent's first move, a defense game was one that he liked just fine. Turn 3: Moros / 8000 : Alexander / 8000 Alexander silently drew his next card, then grinned as well. Now he could play his favorite monster. "I Summon 'Superheavy Samurai Flutist'," Alexander said, and a smaller blue robot appeared, playing a single long tone on an instrument in its hands. "Now, by Tributing my 'Flutist', I can Special Summon a 'Superheavy Samurai' monster." As 'Flutist' vanished, a giant robot wearing orange and dark-blue armor appeared, sitting down on the ground, but still looking very menacing. "I Summon 'Superheavy Samurai Big Benkei'!" Alexander announced, the monster spinning its weapon in the air before slamming it onto the ground, its DEF registering as 3500. "My monsters may be in Defense Position," Alexander began. "But that doesn't mean they can't attack. Thanks to the effect of 'Big Benkei', my 'Superheavy Samurai' monsters are allowed to attack while in Defense Position, and use their DEF as their ATK." He pointed at Moros' face-down monster, then commanded, "Battle Phase! 'Big Benkei', attack his face-down monster!" 'Big Benkei's' eyes glowed red, then raised its fist to slam it down into the ground, sending a wave of yellow energy straight towards Moros' monster. Moros's face kept its grin as his face-down monster was smashed into dust. The brief image of a regal skeleton sitting on a throne briefly flickered before it was sent to the graveyard. The abilities of his monster was surprising, but in the end, no more impressive than any other deck he fought. Don't worry, the king will soon avenge you, he thought to himself silently. He had been hoping Alexander would attack with the blue samurai first and waste its attack, but in the end, he doubted it would matter. Alexander was wondering why Moros kept grinning even as his monster was destroyed, but seeing as there was no response from him, Alexander decided to maintain the offensive. "'Blue Brawler', attack him directly!" Alexander commanded, and Blue Brawler smashed the ground as well, sending a smaller wave of energy towards Moros. Turn 4: Moros / 6000 : Alexander / 8000 Moros remained impassive as the glancing blow of 2000 was removed from his LP total. Now it was his turn to take the offensive. He drew his next card; it gave him a tempting option, but he decided to keep it in reserve in case this plan failed. "I'll activate a magic card: 'One For One'," A small skeletal prince was sent to the graveyard, cackling as he went, and a card ejected from the deck that Moros quickly grabbed and played to the field. An impressive robed skeleton appeared standing on the two monsters already in the grave, his ATK registering as 2000. Not bad for now, "Now 'Wightprince's' effect activates, when he is sent to the graveyard, I can send 1 'Skull Servant' and 1 'Lady in Wight' from my deck to the graveyard. Two cards were quickly moved from the deck to the graveyard and the robed figure standing on the field had its ATK boosted up to 4000 as the other two monsters in the graveyard were added to the pile beneath its feet. "Now Battle Phase, "King of Skull Servants' destroy his 'Superheavy Samurai Big Benkei!" The royal skeleton obliged, raising his hand and wisps of power rose from the pile of bodies beneath his feet gathering in a sphere of darkness that was sent hurtling at the armoured monster. Alexander braced himself for the explosion that occurred when his 'Big Benkei' got destroyed. His face showed not an expression frustration or anything, however, but instead an expression of excitement. "Well, not bad. Not bad at all," Alexander remarked. "But don't think you've won just yet." Moros grinned, "Glad you're having as much fun as I am. With that I end my turn," he said setting his cards down and eagerly awaiting Alexander's next move. Turn 5: Moros / 6000 : Alexander / 8000 Alexander drew his next card, and found that it wasn't anything special. Still, with the hand he had now, perhaps it might come in handy later. "I'll Set one monster, and end my turn," Alexander said. Turn 6: Moros / 6000 : Alexander / 8000 Moros drew his next card, perfect, an ideal card to set while he continued his initial plan. He hadn't expected much more from Alexander than a Set monster. Of course, Alexander had no idea what Moros held in his hand, but he planned on saving that for a trump card. "I Set one Monster and enter the Battle Phase. 'King', destroy his facedown card for me." Of course, his monster obliged and sent another orb of darkness to destory the facedown card. As the dark orb struck his face-down monster, a rodent's screech was heard, and the image of an oversized grey rat appeared briefly before getting destroyed. Alexander grinned. "You just destroyed my 'Giant Rat', which allows me to Special Summon an EARTH monster with 1500 or less ATK from my deck." As the card ejected from his deck, Alexander grabbed it and placed it onto his Duel Disk. "I Summon the Tuner monster, 'Superheavy Samurai Trumpeter'," Alexander declared as a small red robot appeared, holding a giant conch-shaped instrument in its hands, blowing fiercely into it and making a long low-pitched noise. Moros grinned, irony had it that his face-down had a very much the same effect and that little robot with the trumpet was adorable besides. "With that I end my turn," he stated simply interested to see what Alexander would do with the little robot. Supposedly, Tuner monsters could be used for Synchro Summons, but because of Moros's very limited dueling experience, he had never seen one before. Turn 7: Moros / 6000 : Alexander / 8000 Alexander drew his next card, and found that it would come in handy for his next move. "Now, by discarding one EARTH monster and 'Redox, Dragon Ruler of Boulders', I am allowed to Summon any monster from my graveyard." He placed the two cards onto his graveyard slot, and they were quickly sucked in, then replaced by another card. "Now then, let's give a warm welcome back to 'Superheavy Samurai Big Benkei'," Alexander said, the monster making its appearance on the field. "Now that everything is in place, I can now perform a Synchro Summon using my 'Trumpeter' and my 'Big Benkei'," Alexander said. The two monsters then flew up into the air, 'Trumpeter' turning into a pair of green rings that quickly surrounded 'Big Benkai'. "Synchro Summon! Level 10! 'Superheavy Samurai Warlord Susanowo!" Alexander declared as an even larger blue-and-black robot appeared on the field, also sitting down yet also looking even more menacing than 'Big Benkai' ever did. Its DEF registered as 3800. "It's DEF is very high, but it seems like the warlord is still no match for the mighty king," Alexander began. "At least, not yet. Now I'll equip him with 'Superheavy Samurai Soulshield Wall'." A giant green shield fell from the sky, attaching itself neatly onto 'Susanowo'. "This gives my 'Susanowo' 1200 DEF, a large-enough boost to defeat the king now," Alexander said. He then pointed at 'King of the Skull Servants', commanding, "Battle Phase! 'Superheavy Samurai Warlord Susanowo', attack the 'King'!" 'Susanowo' spun its poleaxe around for a second before launching a wave of energy from it, sending it flying towards the 'King'. Moros kept his unwavering grin, impressive that Alexander had managed to bring out a monster with enough power to destroy his king. Yet not too impressive, his king was only at a mere third of its power. The robed skeleton was destroyed by the wave of energy and his form flickered and was promptly sent spiraling to the graveyard. "Impressive," was his only response. "Unfortunately, 'Susanowo' doesn't share 'Big Benkei's' effect to allow all my 'Superheavy Samurai' monsters to attack while in Defense Position, so that's not an option I can use," Alexander said, not sounding disappointed at the fact at all. "Turn end, I guess." Turn 8: Moros / 5000 : Alexander / 8000 Moros drew his next card excitedly, with the right card this duel was already over. Alas merely more security. He decided it was best to remain on the defensive for now, since if Alexander did want to break through, he would need to grant his King substantially more power, enough to end the duel in fact. "I'll Set one monster and end my turn." he said quickly ending his turn. Turn 9: Moros / 5000 : Alexander / 8000 Alexander drew his next card, then gave it a moment of thought. "Hmm, question. Your 'King of the Skull Servants' draws power from his dead companions in the graveyard, right?" "Quite true." Moros replied somewhat puzzled by this line of inquiry. "I see. That's all I need to know then," Alexander answered back. "Huh, and I thought this card was best against only the Lightsworn," he said to himself. "I activate the Spell Card: 'Pot of Benevolence'," Alexander said. "This card allows me to pick two card from either player's graveyard, and send them straight back into the deck. I think I'll pick your 'Skull Servant' and 'Lady in Wight'." Moros came quite close to frowning, quite an unfortunate turn of events, but in the end it merely delayed the inevitable. Dutifully he returned the two card into the deck and activated the shuffler function on his duel disk. "Now then, I'll just Summon another monster, 'Superheavy Samurai Swordsman'," Alexander declared as a large red monster wielding a katana appeared, also changing from attacking to defending like 'Blue Brawler' did, its DEF registering as 1800. "Like 'Blue Brawler', my 'Swordsman' can change to Defense Position as well," Alexander explained. "Now, time for my Battle Phase. 'Susanowo', destroy that face-down monster," Alexander commanded, and 'Susanowo' launched another wave of energy from its blade, flying towards the Set monster. "I'm sure this effect will seem familiar," Moros called out as a turtle wearing a massive pyramid on its back briefly shimmered and then was destroyed. "Its effect lets me Special Summon a Zombie-monster with 2000 or less DEF from my deck, and I choose 'Wightprince'." Another card ejected itself from the deck and Moros quickly Summoned it to the field in Defense Position. Soon his king would be restored to his rightful glory. "Alrighty then," Alexander said. He wasn't too worried about it. After all, he currently had field advantage with three monsters, while his opponent only had two, and one with low stats at that. "With that, I don't have much left to do but end my turn here." Turn 10: Moros / 5000 : Alexander / 8000 Moros drew his next card, disappointed at the outcome. Not what he needed right now, but the longer he could keep Alexander's monsters at bay, the better. "I'll Set one Monster and end my turn," he said once again, finshing rather quickly. Turn 11: Moros / 5000 : Alexander / 8000 Alexander drew his next card, and was dismayed that it wouldn't be very useful right now. Plus, none of his monsters were capable of attacking except 'Susanowo', and he'd get nowhere if he only kept destroying face-down monsters. In fact, if any of them were those 'Skull Servants', it'd probably only make things worse. Probably best to not attack for a while. "I'll end my turn at that," Alexander said. Turn 12: Moros / 5000 : Alexander / 8000 Moros drew his next card with indifference; well at least it would speed the game up a little. "I'll play the Spell card 'Dark World Dealings', each player draws 1 card then discards one card," he explained as he drew another card. Nothing he could use again so he reluctantly discarded the spell card 'Where Arf Thou?', "I'll Set one more Monster and leave it to you again." Moros finished completing yet another uneventful turn. Alexander drew his card, and was now forced to pick which of his cards to give up. In the end, he got rid of his 'Superheavy Samurai Scales' and moved on. Turn 13: Moros / 5000 : Alexander / 8000 Alexander drew his next card, and found that it also didn't seem to be very helpful at the moment. Still, it may prove useful later on. Now he had to again deal with the issue of whether or not to attack. If he attacked, he would have less monsters on the field to worry about. However, the one he most had to worry about was his 'King', which thrived on those monsters being in the grave. He gave it a moment, then said, "I'll end my turn." All he needed was one card to end it. Turn 14: Moros / 5000 : Alexander / 8000 Moros drew another card surprised by his foes tactics. Normally his opponent would just blindly smash through his monsters sending all of his 'Skull Servants" to the grave. Then it was a simple matter of summoning a monster with 14000 ATK and crushing them. It seemed that tournament level players were something different altogether. Luckily, his next card allowed him to give his 'King' enough of a boost to accomplish something. It was risky doing this because it would allow his opponent a chance to respond, but he needed to do something or else Alexander would surely draw something that would change the tides of this battle. Somewhat reluctantly Moros called out, "I play the Spell card:: 'Foolish Burial'. Its effect allows me to send one monster from the deck to the graveyard." If Alexander wouldn't send his monsters to the graveyard Moros would be forced to do it himself. Another cackling prince was sent to the graveyard, "As you already know when he is sent to the graveyard, I can send 1 'Skull Servant' and 1 'Lady in Wight' from my deck to the graveyard. The two monsters were quickly ejected to the graveyard. "Now I normal Summon 'The King of Skull Servants!" The robed skeleton once again appeared upon the field this time the bodies beneath it raising its ATK to an impressive 6000. "Now I'll play the spell card 'Opti-Camouflage Armour' which can only be equipped to a Level 1 monster, but it allows the monster to attack my opponent directly. Now 'King of Skull Servants', attack his Life Points directly," Moros called out and his signature ball of darkness was hurled past Alexander's monsters directly at him. He hated to use his trump card without having it be a royal flush but he couldn't just let Alexander keep drawing card. If he had let the duel contiune at the pace it was going his foe would simply draw a card that would allow him victory sooner than Moros did. Alexander had not been expecting that, and he knew he had to act quickly. "I activate the effect of 'Construction Train Signal Red'!" Alexander quickly said as a red train suddenly appeared on the field, the dark orb then changing its trajectory to the train and striking it, but the train stayed on the field. "When an opponent's monster declares an attack, I can Special Summon this card from my hand, and change the attack target to it. In addition, 'Construction Train Signal Red' won't get destroyed by that battle." He was glad that the attack was stopped, but unless he could prevail, he'd lose in the next few turns. "With that i have no choice but to end my turn." Moros stated and waited to see Alexander's response. Exactly the type of response he had feared. If he could've waited for just a few more key cards, even that train wouldn't have been able to stop him. Turn 15: Moros / 5000 : Alexander / 8000 Alexander drew his next card, now wishing he hadn't gotten rid of 'Scales', but what's done was done. Now that he thought about it, however, he did see a way to get out of his terrible situation and perhaps even win. However, what he was about to do was very risky, and had no guarantee for success. Still, if he did nothing, he was going to lose anyway. All he needed to do way play his cards correctly. "I'll switch my 'Superheavy Samurai Swordsman' to Attack Position," Alexander said, the robot changing from defense to offense. "Now, I'll enter the Battle Phase and attack your 'King of the Skull Servants' with my 'Superheavy Samurai Swordsman'," Alexander stated, the robot jumping into the air for a downward strike. However, the 'King' merely raised his hand and blasted 'Samurai' to pieces. Alexander grimaced as he took a huge chunk of damage from the attack. Moros tilted his head curiously in response to Alexander's strange attack. Surely Alexander had to have had an ulterior motive for making such an attack, as before this he had displayed an impressive battle sense before now. In that attack, though, the path to victory was wide open now. "Thanks to 'Superheavy Samurai Swordsman's' effect, when a 'Superheavy Samurai' monster battles another monster, after damage calculation, the ATK and DEF of the monster it battled..." pausing for effect. "Becomes 0," holding up his thumb and forefinger together to make an "O." Moros's smile remained, but it was one of those disappointed smiles, the ones that didn't quite reach the eyes. With his 'King' at 0 ATK and 'Susanawo' at 5000 DEF, the duel was finished now. Of course, Alexander could refrain from attacking, but Moros had no reason to expect such foolish mercy in such an important event, and it was doubtful another turn would have helped him anyway. "Now for the finishing blow. 'Susanowo', destroy that 'King of the Skull Servants'!" Alexander commanded, and Susanowo obliged, the robot firing yet another wave of energy from his blade to strike down the undead king. Moros sighed as his Life Points dropped to 0. A disappointing outcome to his first duel, but not unexpected. After all, this was his first major event and his opponent had just displayed use of an extra deck than Moros did not even understand. He reluctantly closed his duel disk and watched as half of the life force the King had was drained out of him. The robed skeleton's robes lost some of thier color turning more of a dull gray and his bones took on a wearied damaged look. "Thanks for the Duel," Moros said brightly. He may have lost, but now he had a better idea of what to expect. His stomach was rumbling at him to get some more food than the little he had gotten before the duel. He eagerly turned back to the table and grabbed some food before what remained of breakfast was cleared off. It was amazing that a duel that seemed like it must have taken an hour had actually taken more like 15 minutes. "Anytime," Alexander replied. It was certainly an exciting Duel, and Alexander hoped to have one like that again. For now, though, it was time to take a break from Dueling. Perhaps he could have some more food from the table. Turning off his Duel Disk, he headed over to the tables to grab some more breakfast before it was too late.

The Khan's boredom grew. He had been practicing against simulations too long, and the tournament didn't have the pop he wanted. Too many confident and collected duelists. Where was the emotion he had once seen in the dueling community. Nowhere to be found... "Tiger King?" He said glancing at his duel monster friend sitting next to him at the blackjack table. "Yes sir?" Tiger King replied "What did I do wrong? These duelists don't seem to realize what's at stake here?" "Maybe you should get the ones you think are the best fits for the sacred cards in here?" "Too many..." The Khan said taking another sip of his drink. "We will bring them all here and whoever shows up... Well we will have to talk with them and decide who they fit." "Are we really to decide though sir? I mean after all it is ritual the monster itself picks it's vessel." The Khan interjected "Silence T.K. we have to narrow down the odds. The experience could traumatize the weak ones." The Tiger King nodded silently "I shall command the others to come forth to the throne room." He then stood and began to exit the Casino Room "Oh and T.K., tell the one named Kenta he needs to see me. ASAP." The Khan said continuing to duel against an A.I. "Of course Khan" Tiger King then exited confidently leaving the Khan listening to the music playing. He then exited swiftly and entered the great hall. And swiftly moved behind Kenta. And put his hand on the boy's shoulder. "You are requested in the Casino Room immediately. The Khan would like to have a word." After answering the boy questions and telling him where to go Tiger King walked back into the library pulled a red book out of place slightly and spoke. "Those that can hear this are needed to be in the Throne Room in 2 hours. You are not to be late." He then shoved the book back into place and continued his daily business. Hopefully the speakers installed in the duel disks had not been damaged.

"Hm?" Alice looked down to her Duel Disk, which was making a loud and obnoxious static noise. "Well that's certainly odd..." She brought the wrist that her Disk was attached to close to her face and started to press some buttons. "Uhh... Ehh... God, I remember when all they had was buttons to control the Life Points..." She rolled her eyes and started to turn it off. "Alice, I wouldn't consider turning your Duel Disk off... What if this is an important announcement from The Khan?" Michael, Lightsworn Lord advised. Alice sighed. "Michael, please, if it was this important, I'd be able to hear it. Jeez, isn't there, like, a mute button...?" Alice found the setting and turned off the sound, effectively turning off the annoying static. "I didn't mute you, did I?" Michael shook his head. "Probably not." Up ahead, Korbin was recieving the message from Tiger King loud and clear. "What could they possibly want us in the throne room for?" He sipped on a lemonade he had bought and stood up, Cyber Twin Dragon following behind. Alice caught sight of him and waved. "Korbin, hey! Where you going?" Korbin shrugged. "To the throne room," he responded. "Didn't you get the message?" Alice shook her head, and Korbin walked past her, handing her his lemonade. "Well, I'll be finding out whatever this message is about. Probably get some duels in, as well. And hey, try the lemonade. It's pretty good." Alice scoffed and stomped her feet. "Korbin, wait a second!" He had already turned a corner, out of sight. Alice sighed and looked at the cup of lemonade in her hand and slumped her shoulders, continuing her exploration of Regno Ricco, sipping lemonade along the way.

Wandering here and there, Kenta and Heraklinos hadn't had much luck...Whether it was because they were already dueling someone or some made-up excuse. All that walking around made him tired and he stopped to catch his breath for a moment, sitting down on a nearby chair. "We're not doing so well, Kiddo." the gladiator said as he stood in front of his owner, Kenta nodded in response...There must be someone who's free to duel, they just needed to look even further. As he tried to think of his next course of action the boy suddenly felt a pressure on his shoulders, a part of him was glad, thinking that it was finally someone who wanted to duel him. The other half was scared, with the boy thinking he had done something he shouldn't have, even though he and his monster both knew that they did nothing. When he looked up, he found himself in the presence of an imposing elderly man clad in armor, despite his age he looked like he could destroy obstacles with ease. The boy soon realized that he was in the presence of the king! And not just any king, it was the king of the fire fists, Tiger King they call him. Kenta and Heraklinos bowed their heads in his presence as the King told him that the Khan wanted a word with him....And there he was thinking that they were in the clear...As the warrior gave him the directions to the Khan's room, he left the two with thoughts of fear and dread, especially Kenta. "Do we...go, Hera? Kenta asked with a scared look on his face. His monster nodded, telling him that it must be important if it was the Khan that asked for him, reassuring him as well that if anything were to go awry, he'd have him to back him up. The boy's psyche becoming a little less clouded, he and his monster went into the direction that Tiger King had pointed to earlier. When they were there, the Khan was sitting at the blackjack table and even though the boy was still unsure if this was the right thing or not, he approached him, his monster following suit and staying near him. "Ah, you...Y-You want see me?" Kenta said, pointing at himself.

Rin
Rin nodded towards Lyall in response before walking off, satisfied with her victory over her opponent. As she went off, however, her stomach growled again. Right. She needed to eat. Doomfire looked at her in slight bemusement as she quickly moved to go and grab a meal from the monsters who were serving food, opting to follow behind to make sure it didn't lose her place. As Rin walked off, however, she heard a voice projected from her Duel Disk. Ignoring it for the moment, she went off to go grab herself a meal, at which point she heard a group of 3 or 4 duelists talking about the announcement to go to the throne room in a few hours. Was that what the voice was about? Shrugging, she continued on her way to grab a bowl of rice and some baked fish. The tournament was important and all, but filling her empty stomach definitely took priority over that.
Kamui
Kamui sighed as he turned to Bureido, who was standing tall right beside him. The tournament had immediately devolved into something quite chaotic, but he had managed to stay to the side and not get noticed. Somehow. Even with a giant samurai robot next to him. It was definitely kind of strange, but that didn't bother him much. Finishing up the rest of his lunch and handing off the empty plates to one of the staffing monsters, Kamui got up from his seat and walked around aimlessly. Was his appearance here due to pulling the card and not being invited the issue here? After all, there were a lot of duelists that he knew well of floating around- it definitely felt like he was the odd one out. Maybe they didn't see him as a threat? As he continued musing to himself, Kamui accidentally bumped into a girl wandering around with a monster who smelled faintly of sweets. Shaking his head and moving out of his pseudo-trancelike state, Kamui looked to the girl and apologized. "Sorry 'bout that. Wasn't looking where I was going." he said, letting out a little laugh before moving out of the girl's way. As he did so, however, he noticed the speaker he had taken out of his duel disk begin to react. Taking it out, Kamui brought the item closer to his ear and listened in as the Khan directed everyone to go to the throne room in two hours' time. That didn't seem too bad. Not at all, not at all.

Press had been taking a break, looking over his deck again for anything he might have missed. Satisfied, he placed his deck back into his Duel Disk and resumed looking for opponents to beat. He spotted someone eating some more of the breakfast foods provided and asked, "Hey, you up for a Duel?" Alexander turned his attention from his food to see Press asking him for a Duel. "Oh, the Cyborg Duelist," Alexander said after swallowing. "Later, I swear. This food's just too good." "I got time," Press responded. It was then that the announcement came in. "Those that can hear this are needed to be in the Throne Room in 2 hours. You are not to be late." Press stared at Alexander's Duel Disk, where the announcement came from, and eventually said, "Well, guess we'd better get going." Alexander, finishing off the last of the food on his plate, simply nodded. Together, they headed off towards the throne room for whatever reason it was that required their presence.

Moros's ears perked up at the sound of a gathering, that seemed exciting, maybe they would all do some party event or something together. No matter what Moros was eager to find somebody else to duel so he quickly gobbled up what food remained on his plate and ran over to the throne room, feeling prepared for anything. Then he promptly ran into some guy who had had just bumped into another girl. Seizing this chance Moros quickly took a step back and flung his arm out dramitically pointing at random person, "I Challenge you to a DUEL!" he said loudly and waited for his foe's response. Nothing was to be gained by hiding scared because he could only lose one more match, HE HAD TO BE COURAGOUS.

The two were so determined and already envisioning what would happen should they win, but their reverie of winning was broken as a young man had bumped into both of them. Miwa uttered a sincere apology, even if she was sure she hadn't done anything, while her companion did want to scold the boy for not looking she had reminded herself to be more civilized this time...The boy apologized and let out a hearty laugh before going on his way, Miwa could only stare at him as he walked away. "What an odd person..." She muttered to herself. In the distance she could hear someone challenging another individual to a duel. Puddingcess leaned on her owner's shoulders and said, "This could be our chance to witness a duel! Let's go post-haste, Mistress!" Nodding to the monster, she ran into the direction where she heard the loud voice which was coincidentally the same as where the boy who bumped her went.

As soon as she entered, she saw a friendly-looking young man, plastered with a smile on his face pointing to the boy she saw earlier.

Moros waved his hand in front of the person's unresponsive face. Well that was no good, he couldn't just stand here awkwardly, now he was all fired up for a duel. He dramatically spun in a circle looking for a foe and located... that Miwa girl. "Since he won't duel me you will have to take his place!" he once again shouted out no doubt drawing attention to what would no doubt be his quick defeat, oh well if he lost he could still probally stick around and watch other people fight. Maybe he could learn a thing or two from the expierience.

At first there was nothing but dead silence in the air...It felt like they were all frozen in time or something. Her eyes darting back and forth, Miwa could sense a heavy awkwardness in the atmosphere, her monster whispered to her that they leave ASAP and she couldn't agree more. As they were about to leave, the boy who was pointing spun around in a dramatic fashion and proclaimed that he wanted to duel her, much to the girl's shock. "Huh? M-Me?! B...B-But I'm a terrible duelist! Miwa said with her hands shaking nonstop, seizing the opportunity to get in the action, Puddingcess floated daintily in front of the boy and with a confident grin on her face said; "We accept your challenge! Mistress, no more hiding in the shadows. It's time we have our very own duel."

Having no choice but to fight, Miwa got out her Duel Disk and with uneasiness, she said, "R-Ready when you...you are!"
