Psychological Analysis
Like most pilots, Lynn is confident. She is completely aware of her ability, and she isn't afraid to show it. She comes off as a bit cocky and somewhat of a show-off, but who doesn't want their five minutes of fame? She has an aggressive attitude when her pride is at stake, usually accepting a challenge to prove her worth. Though it may not seem like it, Lynn is a team player; she pilots the XHMAS/SF and usually fights alone, but she answers the call when back up is needed (albeit with a hell of an entry). She prefers older music, older clothes and likes to play the classic bar game, eight ball pool.
Military Record
Madelynn Serras began her career as an SF pilot when she was twenty-two. She started her service aboard a frigate, which had a hangar carrying a single flight of SF crafts. Her first engagement with the Coalition forces happened five days after being posted to the frigate, an ambush looking to cut the frigate off from its parent fleet. The strike took place within an asteroid field, and the singular flight deployed moments after the coalition SF's were on radar. Her unit, known as Dragon flight and consisting of five SF's, held off the eighteen that were attempting the raid. The point defense systems on the frigate along with Dragon flight's efforts destroyed fourteen of the fighters, the remaining four retreated. Lynn scored two kills.
Months later, Madelynn saw her first real battle. A warzone where frigates fought in squadrons. Cruisers challenging cruisers. Battleships slicing paths through each other's fleets. She saw boarding pods and entire wings of fighters. She saw bombing runs and planetary strikes. It was a true battle. This was known as the Battle for Harrun, a strategically valuable moon orbiting a large blue gas giant. During this battle, Madelynn scored twelve kills and completed fourteen attack runs on smaller Coalition ships. In UEE Navy standards, after ten kills, you're considered an ace; and Madelynn was nothing short of one.
Her most notable action, and the one which landed her a place in the XHMAS/SF project, was the upper atmospheric battle, the Battle of Taizan. This was a battle which took place between a crippled UEE battlegroup, consisting of a carrier, two cruisers and a singular destroyer. The Coalition fleet responsible for the UEE's loss was resupplying at the desert planet Taizan. With heavy losses, the battlegroup formulated a plan. The very instant the battlegroup warped into proximity of Taizan's military resupply station, they opened fire, not taking the moment to find targeting solutions. This sudden strike resulted in the destruction of the Coalition fleet's capital ship and three heavy cruisers, the hard hitters of the fleet. With their presence known, they immediately scrambled their fighters and deployed the remainder of the fleet. Madelynn and the highly successful Dragon flight, along with four other squadrons, met the Coalition fighters head on. As the UEE battlegroup pressed on, the dogfight moved with it. What resulted was a battle in the upper atmosphere of Taizan, creating a floor for the SF's where they wouldn't be able to operate. Having lost two of the five SF's that made up Dragon flight, and an overall sixty-seven percent of the entire fighter wing that deployed, the UEE was beginning to get short on options. What made Madelynn the hero of the battle, was that she flew below the operational floor, into the lower atmosphere of Taizan, her shields protecting her SF from the burn-in. Now diving straight to the surface of the planet with fighter that couldn't maneuver, she saw her target. The suspension cable for the orbital elevator. She shot her last remaining missile at the base of the cable, destabilizing it.
Luckily, Taizan was not a colony, it had no notable resources to sustain one. The orbital elevator fell to Taizan, crashing its fifty kilometer long suspension cable along the planet, and taking the station at the top with it. Madelynn was forced to eject from her useless SF, and parachuted to the surface moments after the elevator went down. With the station destroyed, the Coalition fleet was stunned. The UEE seized the moment and destroyed the fleet, one hundred percent. Madelynn was rescued a day later as a relief fleet arrived at Taizan. She was decorated for her efforts and offered a place in a new project, the development of the first generation XHMAS/SF.
She was transferred to Mars, familiar ground to her since she was just one planet away from her home on Earth. There, she lived on a top secret base, Mogatessu, testing out the earliest prototypes of the new MAS/Fighter hybrid. She spent four years on Mars, and is now being transferred to the 7th MAS brigade, along with the new experimental XHMAS/SF, something she had grown to love.
