Nope. I don't play a character, I play EVERYTHING.

To me, the concept of a GM who plays a character is a bit perplexing, as it contradicts my personal concept of what a GM does. I am not a player, and my choices aren't supposed to run this story. To interject my own character into the group would limit my capability to be objective, as well as potentially taking agency away from the players.

Instead, I run all other characters. For all intents and purposes, the universe is my character.

Well now that you have said that I have a question. If one of us fights with a character that none of us are controlling, then do we decide how the fight goes or ?

The same as if it were a fight with any other character, except that I count as the other controller. Usually, I will make statements as to what happens, but if you disagree you can tell me in the OOC, and argue your case.

I want to make an introduction for Barto, but before I interact with other characters, I need to know how Barto should react to them.
Is what they are doing illegal? And is it illegal because they are fighting? Because of the property damage? Are there laws against that?
I want to go paladin meets judge dread with this order, thus I want to have a set of laws that read like scripture.

If you could write a few ideals and rules for Aegis that I can base the scripture on?

Overseer Council rules:

- No fighting between members of the Overseer Council or their agents. Any member of the Council who attempts to make a grab for power will be met with the full force of the Children of Light.

- No fighting in Main Street, or any of the more populated areas. Technically speaking, explosive fights are prohibited everywhere, but outside of the central areas it's hardly ever enforced.

- No interfering with the Overseers. This is subject to immediate death.

- No mimes.

- No rituals of Class IV or higher, as these usually lead to either the Apocalypse or at least localized destruction. And, of course, such things are bad for business.

On the whole, there is relatively little 'Order' in Aegis. The semblance of Order is kept in Main Street and the Central Markets, because it's good for business. But the farther you get from the middle the less ordered it becomes. Imagine what would happen if the government were replaced with the Mafia. Or rather, several Mafia families in an uncomfortable stalemate, in a council that chooses who gets screwed over the most.

Their word is law, their will is reality. You have freedom of speech, but their decisions are absolute.
Amen.

The house of the Overseer Council shall stand united. Any member who threatens it's instability shall meet full retribution.

There shall be no conflict beneath the gaze of the Overseer Council. Any offenders shall meet retribution of equal measure.

There shall be no conflict with the Overseer Council. Obstructions of the Overseers shall meet permanent retribution.

Performing acts of miming is terribly offensive to the faith and thus the Overseer Council. Any offenders shall meet banishment.

Any Invocation of class 4 or higher not sanctified by the Overseer Council is in direct conflict with the Overseer Council.

Their word is law, their will is reality. You have freedom of speech, but their decisions are absolute.
Amen.

@akje

A construct of his mind is a fully functional being - to all intents and purposes it is seperate from his being. If he imagines it to have it's own intelligence, then it does have it's own intelligence. As such, it has it's own memory and thought pattern. They are not merely golems formed by his will, but rather manipulations of reality itself.

Effects caused by the construct - such as fire, or the destruction of an object - do not disappear once the construct appears. Even if the fire on the torch was a Construct, it simply served as a trigger for a perfectly natural fire on other objects, meaning that these effects are not reliant on James.

Of course, this is based on my own interpretation of the power, and I would ask that Arowne make it known if I am incorrect in answering any of these questions.

actually, I completely agree with the concept of the constructs, since as soon as the delusion ends they would vanish anyways. So basically while his mind has the delusion up, he can make the things real, correct?

Yep. And they act as real in every way, until the delusion ends or James is made unconscious.

Well, good luck with knocking him out. But the delusion ending can vary in the amount of time it takes. Sometimes his delusions last only a few minutes, and sometimes they last for the whole day. and sometimes another delusion will start while one is already going on, so he'll end up having multiple delusions going at once(which is a pain in the ass, by the way)

Again, I'm fine with it.

Although, as always, you're not allowed to recreate all of reality with your power. Your delusion may not have omnipotence, or world-shattering powers. They can be more powerful than the power norm for this setting, as they are uncontrolled, but not Superman.

I know. It's not like he can control it anyways. I'll have it hurt him more than help him. A lot of the things he sees would drive any normal person insane.
