“Oh woah!” David said happily skipping down the aisle. “A bus, I love buses!” He shouted. “I used to ride them all the time ……till I got banned from them.”
David was slowly making his way to the back of the vehicle but his legs were forced to a halt. His large eyes began to shine once they set upon the beautiful angel who was not but two feet away from him.
“Hey pretty lady.” David said approaching Fin. “What kinda manure was used to grow you because you are a total flower.”
Her eyes stayed stuck out the window, until she ears a familiar male voice. He couldn't decide if it was talking to her or not, but as soon as she caught to male form in the corner of her eye she knew he was talking to her. She slowly tuned her head to face him, er ocean blue eyes tracing his facial features- she thought they were that of a younger boy's.
She smoked slightly at his different approach to a pick-up line and crossed her arms ontop of her bent knees then laid her chin on her forarm softly. "David, I believe it is, right?" She said with he thick northern accent. She figured he was harmless enough, minus the random sprang about virgins and werewolves back at the boat. That made her cringe a little. "I'm Fin."
"Fin......Fiiiiiin." David titled his head at her like a confused baby. "I don't see any."
Fin raised an eyebrow at him- he was an interesting character to say the least.
"Fin is my name- it is short for Finley. I don't have fins, if that's what you are looking for," she said gently to him. For some reason she wanted to be nice to him. He was sweet after all, calling her pretty an go in her a weird complement- so she would treat him nicely.
“Now that’s a real interesting name, much more interesting then Hickeru and Joe.” He snorted. “And yep I’m David.” He went through the motions introducing the frozen tiger as Mister Stripes and of course the katana around his waist.
“Yeah Junior is my sword he’s all swish swish stab.”
David crashed down on the seat beside her. "Anyway the ladies back home think I'm totally cool, they are always like David why are you with the cow when you can get the milk for free."
He turned to his sword.
"No, no....I'm pretty sure that's the line that people say to get dates." David said to his sword, he was silent for a moment before turning back to Fin. "Junior thinks I mixed up my pick up line."
Fin listened to him then softly let a giggle from her pink lips. Something about the naive boy made her like listening to him speak. When he seemed to talk to his sword she raised an eyebrow- did he really think it talked back? She stopped herself- maybe it did I mean we are in a bus wit a frozen tiger David named Mr. Stripes. She laughed softly at the weird situation she was in.
She looked back up to meet his gaze as he said what his sword had told him. She nodded silently, "I think Junior is right," she said wiih a small smirk pulling at the corner of her lips.
“Aw.” He frowned. “Darn….wonder if that’s why the ladies back home used to throw rocks at me.” David yawned. “So much for all our plans together, I thought we were gonna do that things that parents do…..what is it? Marriage it’s a type of cake.”
David shook his head. "Sooooo you excited for camp?"
Fin smirked aoftly as she listened to him speak. He was the cutest thing she'd we seen- in a strange confused child type of way. She noticed his frown and yawn, but raised an eyebrow as it was completely erased with excitement. "Camp?" She said, a little confused as to what he meant, "You mean the school? Yeah, I'm excited to learn more about these powers I posses," she said softly and leaned back against the seat slowly.
David smiled "Oh yeah right the powers and stuff." He was silent. "Wait what powers, people here have powers?"
Fin turned to face him in her seat, her knees now bunched in between them. She nodded her head, "Gifts, powers.." She shrugged and held out her palm. She focused an a single little blue flame lot from the middle of her pale hand. "We're all gifted. In many different ways. We're traveling here to learn how to master them." She focused and the flame curled into a circling ball of yellow and orange fire before she closed her hand around it and the fire died.
David’s eyes widened at the beautiful flames she made, he liked moving things like fire or TV….he really liked TV more because it didn’t hurt as much as fire did but fire was still cool!
"Aw man that's really awesome!" He held out his hand attempting to mimic her.
Fin giggled softly watching him trying to mimic her. "What's your gift or gifts?" She asked gently as she laid her chin back on her bent knees once again. She yawned softly and smirked, she was very tired.
"I don't know." David said simply. "I'm good at picking up stuff.....and breaking stuff, ya wanna see?" He asked eagerly
Finley laughed softly, "No, no. Let's not break things." She said softly as she sat still facing him with her knees bent and pulled up against her chest. "Who told you this was camp?" She asked in curiosity about his situation. Surely he wouldn't be able to take care of himself back in the real world. He had to have someone to assist him, surely, we thought quietly to herself.
But her question went unanswered and the only thing David responded was snores.
Finley looked back out the window and turned ball to face the back of he seat in front of her before her own sleep overtook her body.
