Name: Lithe
Element: Lithium
Age: 21
Gender: Male
Appearance:
Powers: Lithe was blessed with the ability to swap between the form of Energy and Matter by a process very similar to nuclear fusion. Although he can change to a form of Energy, it is most practical of him to turn into electricity as he can travel extremely fast and still manage to damage an opponent, which he has many of. By a process explained by a Quantum super position he is also able to have sentient thought in the form of Energy. If anyone understands why then kudo's to you. It's also his greatest weakness, since energy can be grounded and all though it won't destroy the Energy that he manifests, it would take more than his lifetime to escape unscathed. This can be caused by grounding a rubber insulated wire on both ends, or just burying something he is... ahhh... electrifying. Lithium has highly reactive properties and since Lithe is lithium in all but Flesh and Blood, he is subject to the weakness of Water. He can swim, but he will become weakened and fatigued until he exits the water. He is also very reactive to all sorts of poisoning. His final ability is to make short bursts of electricity, similar to lightning, explode from his hands. Though a miniature process similar to this he is able to negate any Magnetic Waves around him. This is especially effective against other Elements such as Chrome. He is also immune to electrocution but that's a given.
Weapons: While his counterpart Chrome prefers melee combat, Lithe prefers to attack from a distance. He has two weapons. One is a handgun that shoot's heavy and massive 13mm bullets with a whopping case length of 40mm. While this is incredibly powerful it is also very limited in range. His second weapon is an Assault Rifle that shoots small 6.5mm bullets for the gun size. It is called a Heckler And Koch G36 and has a unique property that suits Lithe very well. It is fit with a small delay, just enough time for Lithe to turn into electricity and mount the bullet itself. This is useful for travel and, yes, electrocuting victims. The downside is that if he lingers too long in the bullet, he is suspect to heavy damage
Backstory:
Gray hair, that was the first thing that Lithe's parents noticed. Gray hair and eyes tinted brown so slightly that they looked yellow. That was important for all the wrong reasons to his parents. Lithe was born in Germany to a Polish father and a German mother and was originally named John. When he came out looking so different from everyone else's baby, his parents were distressed to say the least. He wasn't treated like a kid should have been treated when he lived in Germany. He was not abused but ignored by his parents and they held a resentment to him that would've broke any other kid that was in Lithe's place. It almost did anyway. When Lithe was four years old he discovered that he could stick his finger in an electrical socket and not get hurt, it led him to believe that he was superior to his parents because when he inquired they claimed that it was unusual and scary that he could do it. That superior feeling was short lived. On his fifth birthday he was sent to a detention camp for "Unusual Children".
Lithe's childhood after that was disturbing. He was shipped over sea's to the USA shortly after he was taken, but that was all that he knew about where he went. When he matured he would soon come to realize why he came to be here, and that lied in his parent's resentment. He also would come to learn that his powers were much more than just living through the electrical shock of a socket.
He spent his day's training to become a soldier in a 'Simulated' combat area against soldiers that were much larger than the five year old in the simulation, and though he was also being trained more than being beaten, it hurt all the same. He suffered many broken bones and learned his place very quickly, although he still held superiority in his personality slightly. He continued almost everyday for three years with the same procedure, being beaten by some men that he came to outright hate, eating, sleeping, rinse and repeat. Although he retained little memory of life before the Detention Camp, he loathed being taken away from it. It was only on his third year that he squeezed even the slightest drop of enjoyment out of the camp. He was prepared for his daily beating when he felt a new power surge through him. He held his hand up and saw it sparking, and he freaked. He touched the metal bar behind him and in a flash of light disappeared, only to reappear at the metal bar at the opposite side of the stadium. He looked around and he felt excitement as he superiority complex came up with thousands of reasons, not one of them that was bad, that he appeared there. He began exploiting his skill to beat the soldiers, and by the time he was nine, he won every battle he was placed in. He appeared to have a case of short-lived enjoyment because he learned that a man he fought was killed in their combat. He was not distressed by this in the slightest because of his years of abuse and loathing, but his superiors in the United States military were for they were training him to become a super soldier to fight in the army. They did not want someone ruthless to fight for them, but they created a monster that could not be tamed. He was sent to a facility somewhere hidden in Nevada for research on the phenomena that was giving people superpowers powers in the year 2019.
James represented Ununseptium in the congress of elements, and he was being used not only to research the Human Elements, but also to research the element itself. His abilities were not observable but presumably had to do with nuclear alteration making him the first human to rate a Class 7 danger to humanity (Based on a system of Felonies). This inspired the scientists and researchers to make a chart for the power scale of elements. It was called the Laros, named after the scientist who made it. The Laros scale was mostly measured in MegaLaros meaning 1,000,000 Laros. A Laros was worth roughly 117,000 dollars wasted away by damage the Element would be able to potentially cause before being subdued . A human life was valued at 7.4 million dollars. James was measured in 18 MegaLaros. Lithe was measured in 986 MegaLaros, or, almost a GigaLaros.
When Lithe arrived at the Reasearch facility he found it much more inviting that the Detention Camp. He would come to enjoy the time spent at the Facility too. He was assigned a cell, and to his surprise, he found it was made of rubber completely to leave no room for him to slip out. He felt rather hurt that he would be expected to escape, for he came to find pleasure in the Combat 'Simulation' he would beat the soldiers in and as a nine year old, thought it was the coolest thing ever. He had a very general routine that still included training, but this time, in using his element to fight other elements. He also spent time doing tests for research and though they were potentially he painful he believed it was for the greater good. He came to find a friend in the Element James also, but they were allowed very little time together. He did this for almost five years before he developed his final power. He was able to create electricity itself and stop magnets all around him. This pleased him greatly, it did not please the research facility itself. He spent three more years, living most of his live, in the facility before the facility was raided and burnt down by activists believing it was a child abuse center.
This displeased Lithe, and he was further distressed to find that the Element that was called James had already left without him. Lithe was now a young adult however, and though the USA had warped his mind he still had dreams of girls and jobs he wanted to pursue. The one thing that really stood out to him however was the job of being a Hit-Man, or in simpler terms, a bounty hunter. It was what he spent most of his life training to become. A few day's post his eighteenth birthday he bought a handgun and began to pursue his career. We'll just say that he was very good at it. He finally changed his name to Lithe, to accommodate the fact that he was the element Lithium.
He started off very slow, and he struggled financially even though he did not live in a house. That changed very quickly. He did a job for a rich entrepreneur and word quickly spread of his skill. He began to gain jobs, and with that he gained interest from the Government. They, it turns out, did not remember him because they had cut funding on the Element research years before, which confused Lithe as to why he was still in the facility at that time. All though he didn't have any tangles with the law, he was sure to cover his tracks. He became known as Black Lightning, and with his money he gained he bought a silk mask and custom fitted Assault Rifle. He would use these items a lot.
There was one job however, that started his career as a Mercenary against other elements, that he failed. He was instructed to kill Chrome. When he failed he was angered greatly, and made it his job to become a mercenary, free of pay, to kill that wretched Element. Some time early in the year 2031 a homeless hitch hiker was confused to find this excerpt that belonged to Lithe.
I focused my rifle on his head, but it was difficult to have a clear shot due to his clumsy walk. This man was very peculiar indeed. I was not told why he was wanted, but I was told that he was dangerous and would potentially fightback should I fail to kill him promptly. I brushed it off, no one was as strong as I. I was wrong, I was distressed to discover yet another super powered man as my first bullet bounced off the mans hood. I frowned and got ready to transfer over to him by way of bullet when he pulled off his hood and began to immediately search the sky for who ever shot at him. This was not just any element, this was a man made of metal. I quickly shot down and a fight ensued. He got a few good hits on me, I got some hits on him. It was very distressing to see that I was being beaten. Finally, I hit him full force with a blast of electricity in the ribs, melting off large chunks of his body. I was too slow though, and I was hit right in the head with the blunt of a heavy metal sword. It was painful. I woke up alone, the street apparently in fallout from our battle. It was almost comical to me as the fight did not seem that large. I promise to who ever the hell you were, you'll pay for hurting my pride!
