I just like the difference in their powers coming together. Since they are both criminally minded for the most part and could get along together reasonable. Even if she couldn't melt through the concrete, she would be brought in for her powers but if that didn't work out I'm sure she could use the money seeing as she escaped from a Asylum.

Edit: How long has she been out of the Asylum?

I don't peg your character as the type to hit girls. Maybe hit on them but not punch them or the like. So a little confrontation might be good.
