Dorisma turned at the loud crackling sound of something moving very fast and then a loud boom. She faced a group of three goblins and her companions already engaged in time to see what appeared to be the leader attack the small kobold and deal a grievous wound. Furiously she charged forward leaping over the kobold and inserting herself between him and his opponent while savagely swinging her leg from left to right clipping one of the goblins and slamming solidly into the boss man. She grinned excitedly as she felt a familiar berserker rage fill her body and she embraced the strength that came from it empowering her strike. Dorisma also attempted to roar at them but for some reason the air caught in her throat and she simply ended up coughing, however she quickly recovered and adopted a defensive stance in front of the Robert. She wasn't going to let another friend die, even if it was a new made one.

---[Enemy's turn: minor goblins]---

The goblin on the left starts running right towards me, as if he was ignoring Dorisma, and her defensive stance, and the goblin on the right was following him. I tried to evade the goblin's dagger, but my chest wound got in the way, again. I closed my eyes so I wouldn't see the incoming attack, and the sound of a dagger being driven through flesh and cloth quickly filled my ears, however, I wasn't hurt somehow. I open my eyes to see the first goblin passed out in front of me, with the female goblin behind him, and holding a dagger decorated with blood, probably goblin blood given what I just witnessed. "Who are you? Why did you save me like that?" I ask the surviving goblin, who answers "My name...? I'd rather not say, but I will answer your second question. I didn't want to see the first example of a heroic monster die so soon, and, well, you were the reason I took this class in the first place. I wanted to be able to hold my own against the humans," I simply nod at that, unsure of how to react at this time.

---[My turn]---

Given my recent second chance at life, I decided to cast a restorative spell on myself. Thankfully, the wound wasn't TOO serious, and I felt much better, and much more ready to fight after that. "That was close," I comment, looking at the battlefield. There were now five of us, and only one of the enemy. Of course, that other goblin looked like he'd survive, well, if someone healed him, and I certainly wasn't going to do that. With my renewed strength, and health, I almost felt like attacking, and yet, I felt as though something was arbitrarily stopping me from doing so, as if something in my mind was saying 'No, you've already taken your action, you have to wait for your next turn', why was that? I looked down trying to think of why, exactly I couldn't attack yet, and notice something off about the grass. An entire chunk of it was grey for whatever reason, and I was certain that wasn't normal. Heck, I've seen grass before, and it was usually either yellow, or green, and this grass was neither.

And how for something completely different.
Somewhere in the multiverse, conflict was brooding.
Breeding perhaps, in the process of being bread.
Or any other form of delicious carbohydrates.
Regardless, the dialogue recorded in the fabric of space and time, the inner secrets of reality itself:
"Hey there, that's my stick. you Can't steal my stick from me." Said the Grey Wizard, who seemed to be arguing with another wizard.
"My stick is what I do, you have to find your own stick and use that as a literary device and comic relief."

Speaking of sticks, and other long wooden objects, R'Lyeh's spear was being swung at the most prominent goblin at the moment, using the length of the polearm to keep himself beyond reach hopefully. TO which, would hopefully discourage the would be thief given that his cronies were either bleeding out or have betrayed him. Although bosses like this tend to have potions and whatnot hidden up their sleeves, or perhaps a suppository, given their stick-up-the-rear air right now. Is this entire post going to be about sticks? Well if it was, it would be highly appropriate, because a post can be a stick in the ground. Although if one was a stick in the mud about it...

"Sorry about that My good Goblin sir, however it was a necessary evil and hopefully deter you from further antagonizing us. And while for the record I do not in any form condone killing intelligent beings, in the event I, err... We inadvertently and indirectly cause you death by massive physical trauma, I would like to at least know the name to which I can label your cadaver if I submit my samples to the Aug'Toor. Oh and possibly an medical conditions you would like to mention and studied?"

Ah yes, R'lyeh ever the dispassionate scientist. Not sure which was more scary: an angry ogre or a curious S'Augwin.

As Deravan saw that the goblin had been hurting Robert a lot, and Robert healed himself, he moved to strike again, only to see 1 of the gobling backstabbing her team mate. Guess it was to be expected with how she talked when she met them. He then quickly jumped up and then striked the goblin, hitting once with his dagger right at his shoulder, and then a second time on the side with his sword. The goblin stumbled back from the hits a bit, before Deravan attempted to give a loud dark grumble, but failed miserably when he coughed hard instead, as if he accidentally swallowed fur. He then breath deeply as he gets ready to the next attack. He wished he could just attack the guy again quickly, but something was stopping him from doing so. What he would ask? He did not know... but a old man voice kept telling him that now was not the time to do that. Seriously though.... where did that voice come from. He breath deeply.

Dorisma turned to the side ready to swipe the goblin charging Robert out of the air but the small female one got there first killing the creature. Apparantly the female goblin had heard of their exploits. Dorisma turned back to face the one with the shiny weapon grinning savagely as the goblin ineffectively stabbed her with his dagger, the weapon uselessly clanging against her recently acquired amour. She responded with brutal force still feeling the blood-lust in her veins. Dorisma's arms moved rapidly pounding into the goblin again and again the poor creature unable to escape the onslaught of blows. Her arms were growing tired from the exertion and she rested them briefly while dropping back attempting to stay in front of both Robert and the new Goblin ally to protect them, even though the brief surge of energy had exhausted her. She would've liked to stand in front of everyone but the fishman and troll would have to fair for themselves. Besides the Kobold's healing magic could no doubt recover whatever damage they sustained from the Goblin.

The goblin who was once our enemy tried to attack the boss, however, he seemed to know exactly what she was doing, and dodged the attack. I then tried my luck with my rapier, but, just like last time, he dodged as if it was nothing. "Y-you're not going to beat me so easily. I won't just give up and die here. Ack, the pain..." the boss goblin says as I notice the other goblin seems to have dragged himself away from the battlefield for some reason. I then take some of that weird, rotting, grey grass and tie some of it around my blade, wondering just what kind of effect it might have on something a little more biologically complex than a plant. I then add, as I apply the grass to the blade, "You just don't get it yet, do you? There are five of us, and only one of you. You're practically dead, as well. You know, on your last legs, about to fall over, and all of that," he doesn't seem so much as a little bit shaken by my speech, and I shrug. Well, I tried. I guess we won't have to spare his life, huh? I think to myself as I wait for everyone else to attack in order to see what this stuff actually does.

"This would be a most excellent time to mention I have healing capabilities. As any student of the biological arts should in order to restore and mend slightly erroneous cuts."

"The Name's Muddyfoot fishman, you better tell your friend to lay off or else I'll cut you.

"Well now that is in no way proper behavior. Foul mouth creature, I will not attend to your wounds until your regard us as not your enemies. Oh and perhaps help us find some pesky humans? I will even throw in some healing for your friend there who is bleeding rather profusely. I'd imagine by the amount of blood loss he has sustained he is on the cusp of requiring medical attention. Stable, but rather vulnerable to an outright coup-de-gras which I am certain either of my friends can deliver."

The exchange was comical, as if R'Lyeh found this an appropriate time to make commentaries on his abilities. Offering to heal the enemy as a bargaining chip.

"I never liked him anyways."

"Well, that is no way to talk of your allies."

"He can rot for all I care."

Another firm smack with the shaft of his spear quickly swung in there between replies.

"Well then, I suppose you can lie with him."

For a researcher, he was getting the hang of this quite well.

Deravan looked at the goblin, which was at its last straw, and dodging everything, as if he were to go all or nothing now. He had been hurt hard by that ogre. He dodged Robert's strikes and then R'lyeh striked him, but it didn't do that much damage. He then attempted to attack also, only to have the gobling dodge both his dagger and his sword, quickly moving, scared. Just then Deravan then gave in a deep and dark voice.
"Give up... your life is forfeit. You shall die here you foul soul. You are against 5 people and your alone, hopeless, without any help. You lost..." he then says in his dark and deep voice, giving a deep chill in the goblin's back, the thing now not only being desperate, but scared and intimidated by the group. This was not going as well as he hoped, that was for sure. Deravan knew what he would do next, but not now... he would see what would happen afterwards.

Dorisma grunted as she felt her strength begin to return and charged forward once again attempting to pummel the Goblin creature into submission. Unfortunately unlike her last barrage of attacks the fellow somehow managed to dodge all of her attacks weaving through them seemingly effortlessly, it was like trying to hit a fish with legs, in fact the Goblin managed to maneuver her into missing and landing a solid punch into a tree stinging her arm. She pondered internally why she didn't just grab the Goblin and how the dratted creature was able to dodge attacks from all sides. Just what was this guy on anyway?

The allied goblin tried another attack, but apparently the boss goblin saw this attack coming, and he jumped over it, as if it was nothing. I then attacked him from behind, and managed to do just that, with the weird dissolving as soon as it hits, well, any sort of liquid, apparently. The boss goblin seemed not only critically wounded, but also very sick. What in the world did I do to him? Was it the grass? Either way, some of the skin near the area where I stabbed him seemed to be greying, until it was completely grey, and then it started to fall off, as if it was dead skin. "He's, no, he's rotting away! What the heck WAS that grass!?" I end up shouting in surprise. This weird grass... I've never seen anything like it, and for it to do something like this, there had to be some pretty dark magic at work, but from where? Necromancers usually worked their horrid (and bad smelling) magic on animals, the smallest being rats, never plants. What necromancer would be desperate enough to use his powers on patches of grass, yet powerful enough to afflict it with such a debilitating disease? No matter which way I looked at it, there didn't seem to be any answers as to how this came into existence, even if it was helping us, I was certainly more wary of the grass I almost stepped in a couple times by now during the fight. What's worse is that the patch seemed to grow in size during our fight, somehow.

As the boss goblin dodged more and more the attacks, Deravan had just enough of all this. He quickly rushed forwards and jumped in the air, before attacking with his dagger, before the goblin dodges, but not the second strike that Deravan was going to do, actually hitting the goblin on the chest with his sword, making him fall down on his knees, rotting. Just then, for whatever reason, the sound of someone yelling 'finish him' could be heard in Deravan's head, as he then took his sword in his hand, and jumped in the air, sword going downwards, as it pierces through the gobling skull and chest in a bloody rotting mess, before Deravan pulled his sword out and then chop the goblin's head off, blood spilling all over the floor from the now more then dead goblin, who was rotting on the floor into nothing. Deravan breath deeply, before looking at his sword and then using the bottom of his clothing to clean off the blade.
"He is now dead..." he says, looking down at the rotten corpse.
"It was about time... lets see what he had..." he says.

Trey soared through the air, keeping an eye on the forest below. He hadn't seen any villages in the past week - none that were still intact, anyway. All he'd been finding so far were piles of rubble, none of which were fit to live in. With the humans seeking out villages and destroying them, they were starting to become hard to find. He didn't expect to find one anytime soon.

He'd been flying for a while now, and his wings were starting to ache. He swooped down, perching in one of the trees below him. He would need to rest for a little while before he kept moving. He took out his staff, just in case he attracted unwanted attention from below, not that it was useful for much. It might make a decent melee weapon if someone happened to get too close, but that was it. Trying to cast spells with it would probably just light it on fire.

He looked nothing like he did before his village was destroyed. He had bags under his eyes because of how little sleep he got, he was covered in dirt and mud, and his robes were ripped and torn. All of the magic-enhancing enchantment on his robes had worn off at this point. The orb that used to be at the tip of his staff was missing, and it was now covered in mold. He only held on to these things because they were all he had left from home, and also because he didn't have anything better.

He noticed some movement out of the corner of his eye. He looked over to see a camp that had been set up nearby. He couldn't see any humans, but there was definitely something bad going on there. The moment he looked over, he saw a goblin get decapitated. He didn't see what happened before that, so for all he knew that could have been self-defense. He was still wary of this group, though, and for a good reason. He tried to move a little bit closer without being spotted. If these guys turned out to be a gang of murderous psychopaths, he was prepared to fly away from there as fast as possible.

Dorisma smiled in a satisfied manner as the goblin finally went down. Her face turned to one of shock as she watched his body quickly dissolve into little more than goop that rapidly sank into the ground luckily leaving behind his cloak, dagger, and a single silver coin. Dorisma checked her coin purse and could've sworn it was a coin lighter, no matter she would just take this one. She pocketed the coin but stopped when she felt a shadow pass overhead, a large shadow. Glancing upwards she caught a glismp of what she could've sworn was an Aves, one of those strange flying eagles, another race that were oft times subject to human atack, "Come on down!" Dorsima called out unsure whether she would get a response or not. Hopefully the creature would come over and chat, after all, you couldn't do genocide with only 5 poeple. But it was certainly a good start.

"Well, that was exciting. Now then, Perhaps if all goes well, I can harvest some of this strange flora and send back samples. It appears the plant contains traces of necromantic energies causing the acceleration of necrosis upon an injured body..." R'Lyeh, ever the scholar, focusing in on the greater learning here as he completely zoned out in the melee to examine the effects. What's more was that in such a time, after suitably concluding the effects of the grass from the rapid degeneration of the goblin prior to the decapitation, he had also noticed the overhead avian species which seemed to be observing them as well.

"Oh hello there, a strange specimen, I have only heard about your kind... Caiwas, we call you... Come you must let me have a closer look." R'lyeh beckoned towards the Ave, "Today has been very productive so far."

Our ally, the goblin ally, anyways, pretty much instantly ran off to the loot, and took the dagger and the cloak, replacing her old equipment before I even had a chance to ask who wanted it. My attention quickly turned from scolding her to noticing the falcon looking creature with the staff in its beak looking down at us. R'lyeh seemed to have a name for the thing, but I didn't even know what it was. I then whisper "What is that? Some human cursed by a witch, or something? Can it even do magic? It is holding a staff," to R'lyeh, hoping that the creature, like most birds, had a rather poor sense of hearing. That being said, however, birds, those of prey especially, had amazing vision, so, it could have read my honestly non-existent lips, and somehow figured out what I was saying from there. Everyone else seemed to be calling to the bird, so, I eventually shouted "Hey! We're friends here! Um, if you saw that whole goblin thing, they were thieves, they were trying to kill us and take our valuables! Heck, this goblin used to be with them, she can tell you the whole story!" I then remember our new ally with the cloak and dagger, and turn back towards her, and finally ask "What's your name, anyways? You seemed kinda embarrassed about it earlier," she then looks around, as if someone else would say her name so she wouldn't have to, but, upon realizing that wouldn't happen, she mumbles "Backstabs-her-friends," I then take a few steps away from her, remembering that goblins usually had some sort of oracle decide their names. I then walk to where I could see both Backstabs and the bird, keeping an eye on both of them, just in case.

Deravan just listened to what was being said, and when the goblin said her name, he stayed back also, and breath deeply.
"I hope that does not mean your gonna do the same with us..." he then says, before looking up at the bird guy, and smiles a bit.
"Sorry if you witnessed that fight. We just woke up and got attacked." he says calmly, before looking at the goblin who took the dagger. He breath deeply.
"I am gonna need a new dagger also... probably that the black smith has the metal ready." he then says. He leans on a tree behind him, and then looked at his sword which was slightly bloody. For once he had striken well and true with his blade, but it still had to get some work on it. He would probably see about selling it for a couple of coppers after he gets his new dagger, or even maybe use it as a throwing weapon in the next fight. Imagine the face of the guy as a sword is thrown right at his face.... That would be priceless.

The group insisted that they were friendly. According to them, the goblin was a thief who tried to raid their camp, and what they did was self-defense. Trey put his staff away and flew down to the ground, landing next to the group. He was still cautious, but if they wanted to attack they probably would have done it already.

"It seems like you're telling the truth." He said. "My name's Trey, by the way. I might stick with you for a while, if that's alright."
He then waited for a response from the group. They all seemed like they could hold their own in a fight. If he was lucky, they might even be able to stand up against the humans.

"Well, I'm certainly not opposed to Trey joining... whatever he is," I say to the rest of my group, making sure that Trey heard it. I then gesture for him to fly down here, and add "Also, I think it might be in our best interest to head back to the blacksmith. Wait, where was that town, again?" I look around this clearing, and somehow notice several footprints miraculously preserved, at least preserved enough for us to follow them. "Ah, never mind, I think I found out where it is," I then say to the others as I follow the footprints back, not paying attention to anything that may be of importance, but still making sure that the rest of my group, backstabs included, was following me back to the town. Thanks to how direct the footprints were, it didn't take too long for me to find the town again, and the blacksmith not too long afterwards. "Oh, it's you. Your stuff's ready," the smith points out, though, something about the way he said it made me think he wasn't too thrilled to see us, let alone see us so early in the morning. He lays out all of our equipment, and I immediately take my rapier, leaving the spear tip and the dagger for the rest of the group, or, at least, those who needed weapons. "Thank you, good sir," I then say to the smith. I then look back at my old sword, but couldn't find any new information that might tell me who it belonged to. I wouldn't sell it, no matter how much they offered. This wasn't even my sword to sell, and I'm certain whoever this is has living family who might want to know that their relative died in a battle somewhere. It might not be the best news for them, but it's better than just leaving them in the dark about said relative.

Deravan smiled slightly to Trey, and breath deeply.
"Welcome Trey.... names Deravan." he then says, before seeing Robert head off. He then falllowed Rovert, who actually found his way back to the town. When they arrived, he walked to the forge with Robert, seeing the equipment were finally ready. He walked and then took the dagger, inspecting it and smiling. He then looked at his rusty sword, and sighed slightly. Well... it did help him once, but now he knew it would be better if he used daggers instead of using that sword.
"This is gonna be much better then what I had before..." he says calmly, inspecting the dagger. It was rather solid, so it was better then the dang sword that he had that felt like it could break apart. He knew what he would do with that sword soon, unless he could sell it... but who would want a rusty blade like that anyway?

"I'm not quite sure about the goblinoid, but... The Caiwas... Its presence with our group is most welcome indeed, this will give me ample time to study its physiology up close. Oh so many things to examine and report about, I should probably draw us up a schedule to make sure we..." Yes, R'Lyeh ever the researcher. It may have been slightly off-putting for someone just joining the adventuring party to be seen as some sort of specimen to most likely conduct painful and excruciating experiments upon. But that was the norm for the S'Augwin, a new discovery was to be studied ad nauseum.

Some time later, with much hobbling and probably an observational note to observe the flora they pass along the way back to the town. R'Lyeh had managed to remove the current spearhead he had and replaced the metal point newly forged after some tricky fitting. Polearm design was an educational activity taught to every S'Augwin as they where the best weapons to use effectively on land and sea. The Aerodynamics in the water made it difficult to swing a sword, but thrusting and piercings actions would be less affected.

"Okay then, where do we go from here? I cannot return to Aug'Toor until I have recovered my tablets, they'd pull my funding if I did."
