I shall swiftly grab 201.

Alright, posted. The Desert Fox makes his appearance and the assault on the city continues! Here's the Butcher of Ak'Aria again just for reference:

@skepic, well, yogeh and tyok are now right in the middle of your combat area in the city. Wonder if they will survive this hell.

I'm gonna say that the tanks are nuclear, biological, and chemical resistant like many real life battle tanks. Explain thier survival in upcoming posts but I do have a question.. How long will that gas stay active?

And, in the desert, if your forces are going to witness my very soon to be written assault, its gonna be mostly air cavalry. Bring in the tanks shortly after so that'll be fun. If you're overseeing that battle, I can't wait to see what devious schemes that your troops have in store for my newly created captain equivalent.

"God Dammit Wolk you magnificent bastard!! I read your book!" XD

The gas will linger in the suburbs for the next couple of hours, even then there will be pockets of high toxicity in some more contained areas, however precipitation is a contributing factor. currently only the outer suburbs have been gased. The inner city itself is fine.... for now....

I can confirm Kavaye tanks at least are fully NBC protected and the troops do have easy and quick access to NBC suits that can be left on for a day or more just like most, if not all, modern day militarys.

@Isotope

Err, I do sort of have a problem with infantry just having advance protection, full body chem suits just on hand. I'm fine with the tanks being able to button up so to speak in case of an attack, but one of the really deadly points of Agent 437 is that you can't just throw on a gasmask and some gloves and be fine. The stuff seeps through everything and burns organic flesh. The gasmask will just let you watch longer as your body practically melts and burns away in the cloud. If the Empire's presence was already known in the city, then I would understand if the soldiers came prepared, but this a sudden attack in an area that hasn't seen the Empire in a while. However, I can easily understand if both sides took the outskirts gasing as a warning and are now rushing to get more protective chemical gear to the front. Only time will tell......

(oooh, how ominous...) :D

No worries man, this isn't a rushed RP, so take your time.

Skepic you do know that most soldiers today have CBRN on hand as a leftover procedure from the cold war incase of nuclear attack on the front? I easily can see your agent defeating the suits (NBC suits were fairly dynamic in the cold war as each side made better chemical weapons) but they would be on hand for the simple reason that threats from NBC vectors do exist in more ways than just your one chemical.

With that in mind I would have to say better suits would exist on order but are more expensive, for the simple reason that WMD level chemical weapons can wipe out an entire army in five minutes flat.

Yeah that's what I'm sayin. The devastation of the outskirts was do mainly because nobody saw it coming. Nobody even had proper equipment, let alone get it on fast enough before the stuff stuck to them. Thus the forces within the inner city will be scrambling to break those crates open and make sure everyone has some sort of protection now that the Empire is hear to gas everyone. Also, just for fair warning, Agent 437 isn't the only horrible, disgustingly brutal chemical weapon the city will witness. ;)

/also yes, I know soldiers still have their cold war prep gear. I actually got a cousin who drives M1A1s and is always complaining how dust gets in the tanks while in convoys cause they're all from 1985 and non of their seals have been replaced. XD

Nahh, not really. Mostly smaller stuff like gas grenades used by infantry. Due to the lack of artillery or air support, gas attacks would be out of the option.

Also, he kind of has a conscious, sooo he would usually be against it.

Post is finally underway. I was having problems starting it.

Sucks when you know where you want to go with it but just can't get the words flowing.

Anywho, its underway finally.. Gotta make an good impression for the 477th seeing as my unguon force got owned by a single tank, granted many would call him lucky because those hap's are vicious predators.

Hopefully the 477th doesn't get owned by another predator, this "butcher"..

That would be quite impressive if the butcher was able to fly all the way to the city from the desert just to attack their tank. That would be life's subtle way of telling you to get off the planet.
