Suki smiled as they -or at least te one introduced himself as Separ- had accepted her into their little team of what might appear to be ragtags or misfits. However, while on the outside, she might no show anything out of the ordinary, Se was warring an internal strife against herself.

Why are you associating with strangers? Maybe a bit of company is nice every once in awhile. You don't know who they are. They weren't out for my blood. Kelvin's touch was gentle. There has been similar tricks done, you nearly died twice because of it. ...........

She was pulled from her doubts when she noticed more unfamiliar faces join the table. First and foremost, was the armored man. Why was a paladin here, of all places?! Was she found so soon?!

Panicking slightly, she glanced over at the other newcomers. A rather small person, and...was that woman glowing? For some odd reason, Suki found the other woman reminded her of the night sky.

However, her main problem was still the paladin. Looking around for an excuse to leave, her eyes fell upon the somewhat covered half-elf, sitting in the corner. The opposite corner. "We're still in need of companions, right? I'll go over there and ask." Without waiting for a response, she had already left her table.

Along the way, she casually lifted her hood over her head, the overhang casting the rest of her face in darkness. Stopping as she reached the half-elf, she gestured at one o the empty seats. "May I?"

For the second time that day, he was about to lower his scarf to take a swig of the sweet smelling wine when he was interrupted. Looking up from his melancholia, he stared into the darkness of a hood, for a moment he was about to fall back in his chair from how frightening the dark figure looked but when he observed ir again, he saw that it was a rather curvaceous woman, though she didn't distract him from the object of his brooding and to a lesser extant interest. "thake a seath if'n you wanth." Vis was dropped his scarf only slightly to get a swig of the delicious, purply-red wine, only exposing his mouth as he brought the bottle to his parched lips.

Suki nodded at the given permission from the half-elf, before sitting down across from him. Watching as he only shifted the scarf slightly to drink, Suki couldn't help but to feel more....at ease. It didn't feel like she was the only one who had secrets, or a reason to hide.

Tilting her head ever so slightly to the left, she couldn't help but to speak. "How many people have commented on your lisp?" As per most people, the first thing that would be a topic started when faced with this half-elf, would be that unusual lisp he had. It sounded almost like something didn't work, or was delayed, with the muscles around his mouth.

At least, that's what that one priest had sounded like when she had slashed at his jaw, before decapitating him. She could be wrong, but nonetheless, it was still different.

As Separ continued to talk to his new female comrade, a man clad in thick armor approached both of them and asked if he could take a seat. "Sure, there's plenty of room for one more," said Separ as he happilly pulled out the chair next to him for the man to sit at. "My name is Separ, what's yours, and what brings you here? Oh and also this is, wait what was your na-" Before Separ could get a word in the girl hurriedly told him she was going to go and ask people about becoming our companions or something. Actually that's not a bad idea. Separ grinned as he realized he had not talked to this man before, which meant there was still a chance he would not get rejected. Besides, he looked ready to fight, especially with all that armor he had on. "Say, would you like to travel and become explorers with me and my brand new friends. You certainly look like a powerful fellow after all. So what do you say, friend?"

Vis gripped the neck of the bottle tight and his knuckles went white, 'what's with people and my lisp?!' he thought to himself before taking another swig to calm his nerves. "three, with you bring tha third." he took another long draw from his bottle and felt the passivizing rush I got from well rounded fluid, "whath ith it thath you wanth from me?" he asked bluntly, slipping the drink forward to her and pulling his scarf back over his mouth, putting his hands behind his head to tighten it up. His eyes flicked back to the lazy eyed mystic and then to the hooded girl in front of him. "How about you take off your hood?"

Furnace happily accepted the bowl.
To his surprise the food was already warm. Cautiously he put the stew to lips and imediately he was assaulted by a storm of new flavors.

This was without a shadow of a doubt his new definition of 'food'.
Whatever the stale goop was he had been given all these years, it could no longer do justice to the word.

Rapidly he wolfed the soup down as he followed the conversations around the table. This figure was boasting to his steel friend about how many friends he had aquired, and how he was planning to make more.

He must be a powerfull entity to hold so many pacts at once.

Alula kept in her own corner of the bar, silently observing the patrons around her. This was all rather new to her, or at least she thought it felt new. Several times while sitting a barmaid would walk over to her and ask if she needed anything. Alula would turn them away, flustered, every time. What did that even mean? Was this woman implying that something was wrong with her? No, this certainly couldn't be the case. Alula understood the barmaid. She muttered softly. "Always the maiden and never the man. Working hard to make her place. One day to bark the orders."

Her hazy eyes looked over, watching as the half-elf and then the Paladin tried to haggle with the barkeep for food and drink. She could tell the man was lying. Everything in his keeping was extremely overpriced, aimed at the drunk and the desperate. All the man cared for was material wealth. Eventually the paladin received food for the small man and the half-elf carried away as bottle of wine. Alula found herself liking the paladin more and more, his kindness for others was strangely relaxing.

Alula watched with a strange transfixion as the half elf took a seat, away from the others. There was something odd about the bottle he had, something that reminded her of something. Her head was swimming, and the voices only seemed to be getting louder and louder as she tried to figure out what was causing such a strong sense of nostalgia. A gentle voice spoke above the rest.

"You appear to be staring at the half-elf, and he is staring back. You are making him uncomfortable."

Alula hadn't realized she had been looking at him for so long, and with such pained expression. She quickly tore her eyes away from the half-elf and the bottle. And immediately the voices ceased. That was strange. But what was stranger was who next approached the half-elf, another girl. But something was extremely different about this girl, the voices agreed. Alula allowed herself to give into the temptation of looking back over at the table, but wished she hadn't she felt extremely flustered for some reason, tugging her hat back over her eyes and facing away from the half-elfs table.

"You and the girl are quite different. You coverup for shame, and she undresses for survival."

"A woman raised in a world of hate and dark, now depends on humans for survival. Her hunger is carnivorous."

"She should have some of this food."
Furnace set the thuroughly emptied bowl in front of him with a loud thud.
Curiously he looked at Alula, failing to make eye contact.
"Do you not enjoy the light?" he inquired after her hiding.

Carver patted the gnome on the back as he devoured the meal. He saw that the woman had gone to sit with the half-elf; a troubling alliance, possibly, but not one that seemed to pose an immediate danger.

The strong-looking man has asked him a question, he realized. The offer was a tempting one - he was already traveling, and friends were good to have, especially when one was as poor as he was. "I'd be glad to travel with you, friend." He extended an armored hand. "My name is Sir Carver. A pleasure to make your aquaintance." Although...

He coughed slightly. "However, I feel honor-bound to see to the well-being of my new friends," he said, gesturing to the gnome and to the corner, where the strange girl sat. "Perhaps you could propose them the same question, and we may all go off together? I'm not sure I could leave either in the same state I found them."

Kelvin

"Petroleum, iron filings, sulfur, fresh paper...and something else... You smell interesting."

Kelvin’s eyes widened slightly, and a small grin stretched across his lips. Interesting. “I like this one.” Kelvin slowly uprighted the stool and slid back onto it, settling to examine this being. He barely acknowledged when the cloaked woman moved away, excusing herself to ask around. It was possible she would have more luck, if for the wrong reasons. Yet... Separ had introduced them both, yet she had still avoided giving a name. He stroked his beard, considering. Strange. He turned his attention back to the gnome as food was brought, and watched the being down it in fascination.

“Forty three seconds.” Kelvin whispered to himself softly as the gnome slammed the bowl down. Behind him, Separ had already requesitioned the knight into their group. Curver, cover, something like that. He hadn’t been paying to much attention to the last part. However, as far as the gnome went...

“I don’t mind spending time with this one.” Kelvin turned on the stool and jerked a thumb towards the gnome. “Separ’s in charge as far as I am concerned though.” A thought occured, and Kelvin eagerly swung down his backpack, pulling out a long, stiff tube about as long as his forearm. The fuse was curled up and tied with a bit of string to make it compact. He held it out in front of the gnome, careful to keep it out of reach. “What do you make of this then?”

Suki smiled lightly as she heard the rather expected response. As a matter of fact, she was expecting a number larger than three. Of course, this half-elf seemed rather anti-social, if this was how he normally talked, questioning what one wanted from him. Deciding to actually do as she had said, and ask for companions, she answered "It isn't anything really to difficualt. Just join up with 'him'-' here, she stopped talking to casually point towards the one she knew as Separ. "- on his idea of an adventure."

Noticing the rather blunt action of sliding the bottle of alcohol towards her, she looked at it with a mixture of curiosity and suspicion, before daintily reaching out and grabbing in. Taking a whiff, and enjoying the aroma of the drink, she had just poured a little bit of it in her mouth when the half-elf ask her to take off the hood. Nearly choking on the drink in surprise, she coughed several times, before finally settling down.

"You have your reason to stay covered up, I have mine." Although rather roundabout, her answer was a definite negative in regards to his question.

Vis shrugged the retrieved his bottle of wine from the other side of the table, taking a long slow draw from it and feeling the liquid being drawn down his throat and ending with a warming splash in his stomach. "Tho be ith.." he slurred slightly before regaining control, "I'll think abouth ith." slowly Vis rose from the chair on unsteady feet and recorked the bottle of booze, putting it in it's rightful place, his bag. He began to make his way to the door but suddenly, his foot caught on a chair leg and he went down like a tree, slamming into the flower with a dense crash, though luckily the bottle of wine was unbroken. He looked up from the floor to see what he tripped on but all he saw was stars and a pointy hat, usually a few sips of wine didn't make him this tipsy.

Alula was not sure what had happened, but she was currently on the ground. Only moments ago she had gotten out of her seat, with the intent of walking over to the paladin and thanking him for escorting her to the bar and then leaving. She had cooled down enough to feel like it was time for her to leave town, she had had enough of strangers and confusion for the day. And once it came nightfall she knew she needed to be away from others. But she never made it to the table where he was sitting

Because now she was on the floor. Someone the two of them, with their uncertain steps, collided. It would have been easy to knock Alula off her feet, she already has enough trouble walking with her limp. As soon as the half-elf and Alula collided it was as if someone sent embers through her veins, it burned. Under normal circumstances someone would probably get up and apologize for being so careless.

But Alula was not a normal circumstance.

With a growl Alula leapt to her feet, all traces of sluggishness and cripples gone, and pointed her staff dangerously close to Vis. She hat remained on the floor, her white hair brightly glowing and matching her illuminated eyes. The dislocated and warped voice again spoke through Alula in a threatening and hostile tone.

"HOW DARE YOU HARM HER!"

She raised her staff above her head, as if ready to strike the half-elf with it, but she suddenly stopped when a voice spoke to her.

"The man means her no danger, it was an accident."

As if a light switch had been hit, Alula stopped glowing. Her expression looked shocked and scared. She dropped her staff to the floor with a heavy clunk, and reached up to pull down the brim of her hat, only to realize it wasn't there. She instead covered her eyes with her hands, not sure how to react.

Vis did not know how to react, so he remained petrified on the floor, staring up in abject horror as the drunkness quickly vacated his body to leave abject soberness. He did not expect such a violent reaction from her, and her staff could have crushed him with ease, esspecially with her new found vigor. But when she started to slow down, his mind went from fear to sympathy, she too had something to hide and noe she didn't have her means to hide it. He looked around on the floor for it but the hat seemed to have vanished, so he slowly brought himself from the floor and with a hesitant, reluctant hand, untied the scarf from around his face, revealing the large gash down it's side that was hidden for so long, exposing all his teeth and even some jaw bone. Vis draped the scarf over her head in a way that it acted like a hood that she could draw over her eyes if she needed to.

Everyone in the tavern looked over as the oracle raged. But after Vis took off his scarf, most looked away. Those that kept looking either gave a disgusted look or throw up. One brave soul felt the need to say something, it was the barkeep, "Hey, what did I say about you causing trouble in my tavern, cover your disgusting mess of a face up or get out."

Carver was up from the table and across the inn almost immediately. He saw the elf remove his scarf, revealing the disfigured face within - but to Carver, he had revealed something else; a character of fairness unsuited to his features. He had shown compassion, in his actions - this was a good man.

Then the barkeep opened his mouth, and Carver clenched a fist. A liar, a cheat, a cruel man who spat in the face of kindness. Trying to muster all the gentleness he could in that moment, he put a hand, gingerly, on the girl's shoulders. "You don't have to be afraid," he whispered. "Nobody here will harm you."

That done, he retreated his hand and turned to the bar. "You cheat," he said, slowly, steadily, his voice gaining power with every word. "You lie. You prey on the innocent, the drunk, the vulnerable. You spit in the face of an honorable man. You are arrogant, greedy, and cruel, and you know not the love of the sun." He was shouting now, and he rested a both fists on the bar. "My name is Sir Carver. I am a Paladin of the Sun, and I bring these charges before you. What say you in your defense?"

Alula had stayed with her hands over her eyes for a few moments, not noticing as the half-elf stood up. She had far too busy panicking about what had just happened, what she could have done. She felt like hyperventilating and running, but her body was frozen. She could feel the entire bar staring at her, and she felt the need to fall back to the floor and hide. What happened next surprised her. She expected the man to run away, many had before, but instead she felt something being placed over her head. It wasn't her hat, but a piece of cloth. He was helping her hide her face. She again felt a lose for words at his kindness.

She uttered a soft and slurred "Thank...you." From under the cloth.

More gentle touches, this time from the man in the armor. She winced, bracing herself for the burn that she knew was coming, but she never felt the pain. That was new. Even his words held a kindness that was foreign to Alula. She could hear the paladin calling the barkeep out on his actions, but his words felt far away and faded.

Watching as the half-elf had stumbled into the female that reminded her of the night, the sudden escalation into what could only be said to be a possession occurred. Suki had no other words to describe the phenomenon. However, it seems that it disappeared just as quickly as it had appeared, and the woman was left standing there in embarrassment.

Raising an eyebrow at the half-elf taking off the scarf, only to smile subconsciously at the kind act of making a makeshift hood for the other woman.

Making her way over, she undid the clasps on her cloak, before slipping it off, revealing her body accented by her dress to the tavern. Taking the cloak, she slipped it over the half-elf, making sure the hood covered his face, just as it had for herself. "It seems your reasons are far more important than mine for the moment." Quietly whispering these words to the half-elf alone, she sighed, before muttering "I'll fix this." yo the others in the 'adventure group', before slowly walking towards the barkeeper, drawing just about every male gaze towards her.

Reaching the keeper, she smiled, before leaning forward, hands held behind her back, subtlety pushing out her chest. "Is it alright for you to let this incident slip by~?" Whispering such words with a seductive tone, she winked.

The barkeep stared straight back at Carver and spat in his face, "Yeah, and now I've spit in the face of a dishonorable man, this is my tavern, and I prefer it to be a relaxing place for my customers so they won't be disturbed and if you can't tell by their faces, his is pretty disturbing." The barkeep gestured to all of his customers, "They don't want to see THAT, and if you think you can disrespect and insult me in my place of business, then you thought wrong, you, your disfigured friend, the little one that you brought in, and the starry chick, can get thefuck out of my establishment!"

-Edit since I got ninja'd : "And you," He shouted at the necromancer, "If you think that flashing your breasts are going to keep your friends in my bar, then you can get out too!"

Separ

"Carver, huh? That's a nice name you got there. Is that your real name or do you just carve your enemies with one slice?" Separ asked, laughing at his own joke. "But seriously, I'm glad I could persuade you to join the team, and I will happily ask your comrades as well. After all the more the merrier, right?" As he said this Separ quickly stood up and looked at both the childlike gnome and the girl who's body was practically covered by robes. Kelvin seemed to be talking to the gnome though so it probably wasn't a good idea to interrupt them for now, or at least to Separ it wasn't.

Separ instead made his way over to the girl only to watch a man with a scarf over his face bump into her which in turn caused both of them to hit the ground. Separ watched as her hat fell off flying under an occupied table. Separ quickly talked with the men so he could get them to move out of the way. The men at the table complained as they were drunk, but relunctantly obliged in the end. After obtaining the hat Separ moved towards the girl, and to his surprise heard her scream. "HOW DARE YOU HARM HER!" The girl then raised her staff before dropping it to the ground, probably figuring it best to not go through with her actions. This stunned Separ, but he ultimately feeled like she had a reason for saying it, after all Carver had not wanted to leave her alone. Perhaps she was under a lot of stress, or maybe something traumatic had happened to her? Either way, this girl seemed nice and merciful, she as Separ expected, was most likely a good person. He quickly walked over only to see the man put his scarf over her face, an act which may not have seemed so great, had the man not been disfigured. Separ actually became frightened of him due to his disfiguration for a moment, not because he was disfigured, but rather because he reminded Separ of the undead. Either way Separ wished he could have him join the team, though Separ did berate himself for being scared of the man, surely this guy must have put up with other people thinking the same thing before. Separ did not want to be just another person that would laugh, point, or be disgusted by something so trivial. You fool, he's alive, you have nothing to worry about. Separ paused for a moment unsure of himself, but finally pressed onwards just as the other attractive girl put her cloak over him. Carver then got in a fight with the bartender and the same girl tried to seduce the man into calming down only it didn't seem to work very well. Tapping the girl on the shoulder Separ handed her the hat. "Here you go, Miss, now if you'll excuse me."

Enough was enough, this bartender had gone to far trying to kick someone out because of there looks. Walking up to the bartender Separ pulled out 10 gold pieces, and holding out his hand, grabbed the bartender's right hand with his free hand and plopped it right in the man's palm. "Use this money," Separ's words turned into that of yelling as he threw a wild punch filled with ferocity at the bartender's head. "TO PAY FOR YOUR HOSPITAL BILLS!!!"
