I'm cool with either.

Well you can follow Tadia if you want, and that gives us something to do rather than butting into Rubys fun, I can run away before she answers my question :P

You sure about the Sergeant rank? It doesn't quite jive with his personality.

Edit: But it's up to you. Just that it's a bit of a leadership role and all.

Edit: Also, PLX-2 is a little too new-tech, maybe an old school Republic PLX-1? Those were known to take down AT-ST's with a well placed shot -- lots of power. Either that or the good ole Rebel HH-15, which was harder to aim and required a better touch to get it right.

Solid point, i'll tone him down a rank and replace the PLX-2 to an old school PLX-1.

Sounds good, approved.

Anyway, as to the ration of NCO's to 'cannon fodder' the real cannon fodder are the redshirts that aren't played by players. And they are the bulk of the unit.

But I think it makes sense that Vannin, Beskad and Corde are all fireteam leaders, maybe with one of them wearing an assistant squad leader cap because Sekula is a squad leader but also playing platoon sergeant for the Lieutenant.

This is a wartime organization, they are making do with people handling more than one job at times because they are short on experienced people. So it doesn't conform to peacetime levels (or the sort of full up TO&E of the OEF/OIF experience) but rather to a more ad hoc situation like WWII, Korea and Vietnam where there was sometimes a scramble to find NCO's and officers to do all the jobs.

Just FWIW, don't get too bent out of shape around rank. In situations like this, rank doesn't represent much more than your experience and your pay. The chain of command is all that matters. NCOIC, OIC, and whatever team-leader positions come up -- those are the marks of authority, and 'sergeant' or 'corporal' is really just a detail.

TLDR -- don't sweat rank in your character sheet, it's not a big deal in practice.

Exactly. Especially in a situation of wartime attrition and an expanding Rebel Alliance. Also bear in mind that the Alliance is often looking to cadre new units with experienced people, so getting promoted might be a good way to get yanked out of a unit in the name of bringing experienced people into new organizations.

Probably not so much of an issue with the Uslam Liberators, but there's a lot of autonomy, I'd think, for platoon leaders to give stripes up to corporal without worrying about having to justify it to higher command anyway.

Especially when you consider that the Rebel Alliance isn't really getting paid anyway. So that doesn't even come into it.

I'm gonna make some food and then do a briefing post to lay out the mission with Byron. Remember he's totally NPC so if you want to handle any post-briefing chatter on your own, that's fine by me.

Sounds good. I'm through the administrivia of getting hired and have another week before I start this new job (senior employment consultant-- I help people with disabilities get hired primarily by networking with HR and managers and try to help said folk retain their jobs) and I hope to have my established RP's running smoothly by that time.

And then I can pray for enough free time to do this, which is why I set up co-GMs. I should be fine, I worked fucked up hours in a hotel and still did RPs. This job involves weekends off, which I find to be a total luxury.

Should I write a post pointing out the Betuu would be a terrible addition to the Slogga group? He does have the insignia of the Rebellion painted right on him.

EDIT: Decided to do it anyway.
