It is said that one should not look to their betters and see themselves in their seat. It is said that commoners are nothing but lowly pigs in human clothes by those of stronger blood lines. And it is also said that the world is filled with people of ambition as well. As the Kiryuin Family expands it's holdings across the world more and more young people and old families are being swallowed by their grip. Cultures, nations, and entire people are slowly becoming a part of their new system. Some people resist to varying successes. Some people want to continue on with their lives and do their best to move on in the system created by the new powerful family. However as it is said a disease takes weeks to get rid of...and some never fully go away. The story of a young group of adolescent kids of little prestige make their way to the city of Kyushu, A prototype of the city known as Honoji where the famous Satsuki Kiryuin now rules with an iron fist for her mother, with the intent of taking it over...by using it's own system against it. These teenagers were assigned by a man called Director Kenta Sanshiro, a former president of a school called Berlin High from deep in Germany that was taken over by the Kiryuin about two years ago. In an attempt to regain a foothold and force out the Kiryuin Company these children have an assigned goal: Take the city's Goku uniforms and turn the city over to to Kenta. These kids were assigned to this for various reasons and some different than others. Each may have their own reason to take out the Kiryuin family or maybe it's just all a game to them? Regardless as these children make their way to the city under the control of the nephew of Ragyo Kiryuin, Nero Kiryuin the famed son of a distant relative of the infamous business woman, and with their journey to the city coming to an end...a whole new one starts...for better or worse.

Rules are important! Obey them pigs in human clothes!

1. Kamui uniforms won't be available for use to us in this roleplay. I may consider changing this late game in the roleplay but due to the rarity of the uniforms and their powers I don't like giving such powerful items away. For more info see the lines at the bottom of the FAQ to see how we'll be starting in regards to uniforms.
2. Your character will need a specific set of weaknesses not just some personality junk actual physical downsides. Range/Tactics/Physical capabilities. Your character should have a good rounded set of strengths and weaknesses.
3. This is not a low casual roleplay. I expect at least a paragraph and a half per post and a character sheet with some depth put into it. If there is some plot point you don't want included then add fluff or tell me about it.
4. As GM I reserve the right to deny your character if I don't like it. Likewise I have the final word in what happens in this roleplay. Like Satsuki Kiryuin I have no time for pigs in human clothing who think they're better than the system. That being said I am not some evil despot. I will compromise with you. You can argue but how successful you will be in doing so will vary.
5. If you join this roleplay or show interest please tell me if you drop out or lose interest. Resulting in not doing so will result in a barring from any of my future roleplays. I have an extreme distaste for any people who lack the simple courtesy of saying "I'm out sorry'

Just curious, but why is there a need for characters to be perfectly balanced out? It's not like this is a PvP roleplay.

To prevent characters from gaining an unfair advantage over other characters and become more dominate. In other words to prevent someone from being the defacto 'strongest dude'. My guy is build as a 'melee tank' sort of dude for example. The trade off being he is garbage at range. Someone else can cover that. In my opinion it is not very fun to be in a roleplay where I can say 'Oh just send it ____ because (s)he can just take out the problem like that'. It creates a better experience for everyone so that they can work together to cover each others faults. Besides in the case someone does end up in a PVP situation for one reason or another in roleplay by their own wish or story it prevents one character from just steam rolling the other...unless their opponent is within their weak point in which case can't do much about that.

My second reason is to prevent the players from doing this too serious NPC enemies. What's the point in fighting a 'boss' character when the character just whams the guy in the face and the 'encounter' is over. I prefer fairly even to intense fights.

I'm just saying that balance isn't going to matter all that much in the long run. The moment Uniforms are introduced, whichever characters happen to have the most potential are going to immediately become stronger than all of the others. Trying to balance out all of the uniform abilities (2-Star and above) would be silly, since they aren't all created equal in the first place.

EDIT: You can still have intense fights if characters aren't on equal footing, and just because somebody's slightly stronger than another character, that doesn't mean that the weaker character is useless. Diverse skill and mindsets are a thing, too~

The uniforms themselves will be a big power boost of course that's not what I'm trying to do. Think of Ryuko's fight against the elite four for example. Gamagori had great defense and attack but lacked the foresight to think of anything other than brute force would be used on him. Imuta had intelligence and technological skills plus his stealth system that greatly helped him but at the end of the day his lack actual power attacks and weapons forced him to surrender. Uzu failed to properly defeat Matoi despite have an overwhelming knowledge of the general area and his arrogance cost him. And Nonon's arrogance cost her greatly and she didn't finish off Matoi quick enough. Of course her Kamui kept her in the game the entire time the point being that each of their flaws were what cost them even with their abilities. The point in balancing their character is to give other enemies a legitimate chance at defeating them. They don't need to be to the point spot on and can be slightly lopsided but I don't want a characters who can hold their own in all ranges perfectly without having a lack of something in there. What's the point of being a close range specialist if you can hold your own just as well in far range? What's the point in having a strategic genius who can adapt to anything and use some incredible power to just flatten out the enemies.

The short version being this: I want balanced characters that struggle early on but progress to higher tiers later but keep an actual tangible weakness that could do them in if they aren't careful. I honestly don't see what's wrong with that. I'm not asking for characters who are just incredibly weak what I'm asking for is to have something they don't have a safety net for so that I can use that against them and make their character struggle so they aren't so uber juggernaut. If you look at my character you can see I am holding myself to my own rules. My guy has nothing to do but turtle up and try to muscle closer once you start pelting him at long range. Keep that range up until he eventually breaks down and you win. Get in close and your going to get clobbered. Goku uniforms will greatly improve his abilities to keep on taking it and or hit harder just like it will for the rest of the characters.

I would have liked a more detailed history (events that shaped her into who she is, experiences, etc) but I'll let it pass. May I ask how you intend to make Occult research into a goku uniform later however? Unless you're going the Uzu route and going for a more technical based suit for analysis but that doesn't seem to fit your character as well.

Occult Research-spec Goku Uniform, obviously.

I will probably expand her history as things progress, if that's allowed.

I mean what does it do exactly? What capabilities will the uniform grant the one who wears it once you hit two stars then expand it into three? My guy will be using increased speed, maneuverability, and allow him to hit harder and faster at two stars then allow him to use an ability called 'shadow boxing' which lets him preform multiple moves at once. With your given activity I don't know exactly how that would translate into abilities.

I'll allow history expanding in roleplay due to the nature of your character.

Character Sheet:
Name: Kageta Usui (Oboro)
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Appearance: A 5'8" guy, he has a lean, but slightly muscular build, he has short, straight, neat black hair, and dark brown irides and he'd wear his school uniform buttoned up as to avoid snagging. At night he wears a blank grey mask when outside with no expression other than two slitted eyes, he also wears a different school uniform, poorly dyed black, with patches of grey and white being evident.

Star Ranking/Goku Uniform: No star

Strengths:
-Can make himself move silently.
-Quick reaction time and reflexes for a 0 star at least, he'd still get beat by 1 stars after a while.
-Perceptive and observant, can notice things that others failed to.

Weaknesses:
-He can't take too much hits.
-He doesn't have much offensive options at range short of throwing things.
-His own hits aren't very powerful unless he sneaks up and hits a vital spot.

Favorite Activity: Parkour

Personality: In the morning, he's usually seen smiling. He is somewhat cocky but he never underestimates anything. He jokes, though the level of humor varies, his academic performance isn't great, but it isn't failing either, as he either just passes, or gets above average. He is known as the extremely average "that guy." At night, though, he dons his featureless mask and climbs the roofs, he doesn't do much but stays there, enjoying the company of the moonlit sky, though he occasionally stalks passers-by with no other reason than to amuse himself. He won't speak with anyone he doesn't trust at night.

Biography/history: Kageta was born to Kazeto and Mizuha of the Oboro ninja clan, native to Hokkaidō, like many other ninja clans they have been around since Feudal Japan and prospered due to the numerous jobs offered by numerous clients. Like the other clans, they kept their secret and guised themselves as a simple fast-food business on an inconspicuous side of town. They had a dojo deep within the forest, where they trained recruits and acted as a base of operations for giving out missions. Here was where Kazeto trained his son in ninjitsu. It was peaceful for a time.

Though when the Kiryuin family rose to power, they knew of the hidden clans, and commanded that all ninja be grafted into their private, secret army, or be killed. The Oboro clan, among others refused this and as a result, were largely slaughtered, overpowered by their strange uniforms. There were others who fled, but many were still killed, their mistake was that they fled to another part of Japan. The last remaining Oboros fled the country and settled in Germany. Here was where Kageta spent more time with parkour than ninjitsu

Here Kageta was enrolled in Berlin Academy. Though, it wasn't long before the Kiryuin family extended their grasp overseas and took Berlin academy. Kageta's parents were finally found and slain, though, fortunately, his father had already fabricated a fake identity for Kageta and both his parents never revealed Kageta's existence, ensuring his survival

After a few years, the president of Berlin Academy assigned a few students, he volunteered himself, unable to speak of his true motives, thankfully the president was amicable enough to let him. His reason is all for vengeance, but also so that perhaps no one might fall to the Kiryuin family again.

Weapons:
*Kunai, only on him at night.
*Large swiss army tool, on him at all times.
*Telescoping baton, on him at all times, unless confiscated.
Items:
*Smoke bombs, only on him at night.

EDIT: Edited his dad's name.

It'd be a bonus to do so if you already have them in mind but aren't needed. I didn't want to force someone to come up with their star upgrades immediately but the activity/club you will be a part of should dictate what it does to some extent or another.

Edit: The reason I'm asking Tatsua for hers is because the ghost club seems a bit abnormal when it comes to ability and I'm unsure about what it could do.

Well my character will be a member of the Archery club so no prizes for guessing her combat style/weapon of choice. Her first star upgrade will basically revolve around increasing her mobility and movement speed, rather than attack speed. Primarily her costume 'change' will allow her to run across/up walls and ceilings.

One Stars generally just get an increase in their abilities as it is I believe two stars is when things start to get funky so to speak. For an archer I'd think accuracy and precision would take more over agility. Speed definitely is valid of course as well.

For two stars I'd personally go with something that would either let me shoot better, give me elemental effects or more physical types of punch or versatility, shoot more arrows at a time, the ability to shoot with more accuracy with some sort of scope that goes over the eye and or the ability to shoot from different surfaces. Really however that's just me if you want to build your character that way so be it I just don't think it would be as effective as it could be as you'd need to deal with sliding on the walls and unsteady areas and being quick rather than hitting the target effectively. Unless your going for arrow spam.

Well, it's still hypothetical at the moment. One major weakness is a loss of accuracy at close range, so I needed to give them the ability to maintain distance more effectively. For 2 star I was considering either a 'hawkeye' type effect or arrows with 'special' properties, such as drilling shots.

Just give her the ability to shoot and hit anything in her line of sight, from an infinite distance away. That's a good way to have a giggle sniping the enemy from literally miles away.

EDIT: Oh, and, Suzu's eventual Goku Uniform specializes in improving her mental abilities. It's very much a technical uniform, lacking much in the way of direct offence.
