"Am I the only one who's glad to leave this maze of mirrors?" asked Shiranui.

"I'm glad." Liam stated.

[Flood]

"Other than the annoying Noibat, I quite liked that cave. It was pretty." Ryan said with Oberon shaking his head. Fuma meanwhile was looking back at the cave with a sense of longing. he missed the mirrors.

Shiranui nodded, admitting the cave was pretty. "Okay then, according to my guide, the gym leader here uses Fighting-type Pokémon and the tower to the north is the best place for us to learn about Mega Evolution," he explained.

Liam remembered. He called Kirlia back out. He pulled the Dawn Stone and put it next to Kirlia, triggering an evolution.
"Gallade, the Blade Pokemon, and an evolved form of Kirlia. Because it can sense what its foe is thinking, its attacks burst out first, fast, and fierce. A master of courtesy and swordsmanship, it fights using extending swords on its elbows." Liam pulled out the Mega Stone. It was fixed into a belt that Liam fastened onto the Pokemon. "Now, we're ready for the gym." Liam said as he recalled Gallade.

[Flood]

Liam's use of the Dawn Stone reminded Ryan that he also had a Dawn Stone with which to evolve Oberon. He pulled it out of his bag and tossed the Stone to Oberon. "Catch." He called out as Oberon fumbled to grab it out of the air. The evolution triggered and Oberon was now a Gallade.
Ryan looked at Oberon and smiled. "Perhaps I should've named you Gallahad. Oberon no longer seems fitting considering you're not a fairy anymore."
"Do whatever you please. My name means little in battle. What's more important is that my trainer is still one of the weakest Psychic's I've ever met. Keep training with those cards." Oberon commanded. Ryan sighed.
"I could've sworn I was the trainer." He muttered as he began walking again.

Liam entered the Pokemon Center. He sent Anubis to Prof Oak so he could use Noibat. He then took his pokemon to Joy.

Shiranui was concerned for Ryan and Oberon as he left his Pokémon with Nurse Joy. "Oberon may have just evolved, but hopefully being a Gallade will make him more courteous towards Ryan," he mused.

[Flood]

Ryan took his Pokemon to be healed as well and he turned to Liam and Shiranui. "What do you guys think? Should we head to the tower first or the gym? I say we head to the tower so we can have an advantage."

"Well, me and Shiranui have had mega evolution for a while, but we still don't know much about its origin." Liam said. "Mr, Fuji did not say much on that topic, he just gave us the info needed to activate it. Maybe that would be a good idea." Joy overheard part of the conversation, spsecficly the part about the gym. She mentioned the gym has been closed for a couple days, because her last challenger went overboard with the move dig and turned the arena into swiss cheese. "The gym would be re open tomorrow." Joy informed them.

"In that case, let's head for the tower," Shiranui suggested, understanding the use of Dig as an evasion tactic.

[Flood]

Ryan nodded and retrieved his Pokemon. He walked out of the Pokemon Center and headed towards the tower.

Shiranui retrieved his Pokémon as well and made his way to the Tower of Mastery, curious about where Mega Evolution came from.

Liam retrieved his Pokemon as well. The trio arrived at the tower of Mastery. There stood a man with Korina, who called the heroes over, saying "These are the guys I was telling you about grandpa."

[Flood]

Ryan's eyebrows raised as he noticed the Gym Leader Korrina and what appeared to be her grandpa in front of the tower. "Have we met?" He asked just as his mind flashed back to the Battle Chateau. He shivered and rubbed his arms. "Never mind. I just remembered you. And other things."

"I'm Shiranui Tsukiko of Ecruteak City and these are my friends Liam and Ryan," Shiranui introduced, "We're here to learn about Mega Evolution."

Karina's grandfather told them story of long ago. A man and his Lucario found two stones. The reaction of these two stones was that of mega evolution.

[Flood]

Ryan listened to the story and politely applauded at the end. "You're a very good story teller." He complimented and even Oberon bowed his head in acknowledgement of the man's skill. Fuma meanwhile had fallen asleep.

Shiranui applauded as well.

As did Liam. He noticed Shiranui and Liam had Mega Stones and was impressed. He noticed Ryan had a pin to hold one, but didn't have a mega stone. He told Ryan he would battle him, one Pokemon each. If he won, he would get a Mega Stone.
