This is a story about a high school, friendship, and a ghost busting club.
It's a story about rivalries. A story about mystery, and the great unknown. But it starts… like this.
You are a student. A high school student, to be specific, at Edison High. A somewhat normal, boring high school in the sleepy town of Sandalwood. And to be even MORE specific, you’re in eleventh grade. A junior.
It’s September, and you’ve been back at school for about two weeks now. Maybe you’ve been at this school for your whole life. Maybe you’re a recent transfer. Maybe you’re the classic, all American jock, or maybe you’re the nerdiest kid on the math team. It really doesn’t matter: regardless, your high school career is about to get shaken up.
And it’s all because of a flyer.
What’s that, you say? Explain? Well, why don’t you read the flyer, and see for yourself?
Hey, Edison High student! We want YOU for the ghostbusting club!
Sick and tired of your ordinary high school life? Want a little something to spice things up? Well, look no further, because an exciting new club is coming to Edison High— the ghostbusting club!
If you haven’t stopped reading by now, then surely you know of our town’s colorful history, full of murders, curses and suicides. That’s right: Sandalwood is a hotspot of supernatural activity! Have you ever heard the clanging of chains outside your door at night? Stumbled upon a cursed object?
Maybe you have, maybe you haven’t. It doesn’t matter! If you’re interested in taking advantage of our town’s rich supernatural history, and want to make the best of your high school career, then all you’ve got to do is fill out the form at the bottom of this flyer. Then, come to our first club meeting after school in the biology classroom!
Hope to see you there!!
--Angie Anderson, club president and founder
SO WHAT IS THIS?
Hi! I’m Bunny, and this is an RP I’d like to start up!
The concept is pretty simple: a slice-of-life and horror fusion RP, with friendship, romance, drama and rivalries highly encouraged. Basically, you’ll play as a student at Edison High, a boring and incredibly normal high school in Sandalwood, the sleepy little town that just so happens to be a hotspot for supernatural activity.
Maybe you see the flyer and decide that you’ll give the club a shot. Maybe you join on a dare. Maybe you’re recruited by the enthusiastic club president, Angie Anderson. No matter what the reason is, you join the ghostbusting club. You might know the other kids who join the club, but only by reputation. After all, there’s an awful lot of people in your school. Far too many to keep track of.
Considering that this is going to be mainly revolving around the club, their relationships with one another, and the “missions” that the club president comes up with each week (with a few overarching plot arcs that I’m currently working on), I’d like us to focus pretty heavily on character growth and development. I’d like interesting, original characters that are clearly different from one another, with equally interesting flaws in spades— the sorts of characters that seem like real people. So make your characters interesting, but don’t go too overboard.
So what do you guys think? I think it could be pretty fun, although it probably needs to be hashed out a little more. It’s also probably going to end up a high-casual/low-to-mid-advanced RP.
But anyway-- thoughts? Ultimately, I'd like this to be an enjoyable RP, with just enough drama to make things interesting, and lots of friendship, romance (if you want), and rivalries! It would be nice if we RP-ers could be friends too, and have a good time in the OOC.
I also have a character sheet template ready~!! ^^
A quick note: regardless of the whole 'hunting-down-supernatural-thingies' thing we've got going on, I'd much prefer it if your character was a mostly normal human being!
And for an example of a character, the club president’s CS should be up pretty soon. I’m still working on it~!
So, uh... anyone interested? :D
(This has actually already been posted in the general section, but here it is again since let's be real: not too many people actually check the general interest check section~!)
