You woke up one day on a warm summer day. Perhaps you woke up in your house, or on the streets, or in a forest. You know who you are; you are a vampire. Most of you were born a vampire, either because one or both of your parents were one or cursed to become a creature of a night. You are young, inexperinced with your powers and for some of you, alone with no one to care or help you. Until that one warm summer day, where you were approached by a man in a white suit.
This man knows who you are and even calls you by name. No matter what your interaction with this man he explains why he was looking for you. In your hands is a slip of paper for a place known as the "Scarlet Briar Academy", a school for teenagers and young adults to not only seek an normal education, but a place where they can control and learn more about their powers and the history of vampires.
There are some who would deny this offer and continue to live their lives as it is now. But you are not one of them. Whatever your reasons you chose to attend the academy and see what fate lies in store for you.
Scarlet Briar Academy is a school-based RP centered around vampires. Don't worry too much about actual education, the only ones that really matter are the vampire power classes and club acvities. Scarlet Briar Academy takes place in a remote area in America and is hidden from the world. While the Scarlet Briar Academy has modern technology like cellphones and internet it tightly controls information going into and out of the Academy to ensure that it remains hidden from the outside world.
The purpose of Scarlet Briar Academy is not only teaching and haboring vampires but teaching them how to live in human society. They work with many brilliant minds to help vampires fit into the world so that they don't need to live in fear of prejudice and hate for what they are. Scarlet Briar Academy also wants it's students to interact with each other, make friends, make enemies, and have fun.
Humanity as a whole is unaware of the vampire presence in their world but there are some factions who are willing to both help the vampires, as well as hunt them down. The academy is hidden from those who wish them harm and even those who want to help the vampires do so outside of the academy. While most vampires and humans want nothing more than peace it's going to be hard to get it in this day and age.
Other stuff you need to know:
While it's hard to determine just when vampires first showed up in the world, vampires have been around for a long time, but not in large populations. They're rare enough that humans outnumber them 100 to 1 and the Academy has the largest population of vampires of around 10000, and that's with vampires from all over the world.
Vampires have inherant magical abilities that gives them an edge over humans but it's hard to tap into that magic on your own. Even if you spent many years praticing by yourself higher level vampire magic is something that you must simply learn at an academy. It's way too complicated to try to figure out on your own even if you consider yourself "talented".
Most vampires are born vampires. Only one parent needs to be a vampire for the child to be a vampire, and there really isn't much difference between a vampire who's parents were both vampires or if only one was a vampire. Not that there hasn't been a social stigma attached to it. Dhampyr, "Half-Vampires", have the same strength, weaknesses, and apperances as normal vampires though older and more traditional vampires see them as inferior anyways.
However there are also those who have become vampires thanks to a vampire feeding from them. This is very rare, typically around a 5% chance of happening, and that requires the victem to be almost dead. It's somewhat more possible if a vampire injects their blood into a human, giving them both a 50% chance of turning into a vampire but also a 50% chance of simply dying. They are otherwise just as strong as normal vampires and have the same weakness.
Vampires generally look like normal people during the day. One tale tell sign of who a vampire is is by their teeth; unnaturally sharp and pointed, all the better to drain someone of blood. Trained vampires can make their teeth look more "Normal" but they still look very sharp. When a vampire is using their magic their eyes turn red and begin to glow unaturally.
But a vampire's identity is harder to hide the longer they go without drinking blood. Most vampires can go a few days without drinking blood just fine, about three days at most. But afterwards they'll start suffering withdraws. They become shakey and their skin will begin to flake. Their hair slowly starts to turn thin and white, their eyes become red and bloodshot, their teeth grows longer, and their nails turn into talons. They have a harder time thinking and become more like feral animals than sentient people. A vampire who has gone for a whole month without feeding looks more like a horrific, humanoid monster. They'll need a lot of fresh blood to return to a normal state.

Strengths:
Vampires have much higher physical abilities than normal humans. While humans can train themselves to put up a fight, vampires can also train themselves to increase their strength and agility to be stronger than normal.
Vampires also have an innate ability to use magic. While it takes them a long time to master at least they can use it without as many resitrctions as others.
Vampires are less prone to sickness and infections, as well as healing their injuries. They have a strong immune system that allows them to eat things that would normally make others sick, like blood.
Vampires are also capable of adjusting their vision for different levels of light. This allows them to see "normally" during the day but can also give them nightvision in total darkness.
Vampires are ageless but only if they keep themselves regularlly fed. They stop physically aging at around 30 years old, but magic rituals can be used to make them look younger.
Weaknesses:
Vampires require drinking fresh human blood regularlly. They can drink animal blood but this only slows down the invetitable and won't satisfy the need for human blood. Most vampires can go for three days without drinking, five if they're strong. But for each day they go without drinking blood they turn more and more monsterous and they will go slowly insane and violent overtime.
Direct contact with sunlight weakens them, both physically and magically. While a fed vampire won't be harmed they do become weaker, almost as strong as a normal human (Vampires who bother to train their bodies are a bit stronger, but only about as strong as if they were a human who works out). Vampire magics are weaker and some may not even work in the sun. A vampire who covers up can avoid most of these effects, though some spells still require no sunlight. Being inside buildings or hidden in the shade can help avoid the effects of the sun. But vampires who have gone too long without feeding will die if explosed to the sun, burning to death. Only sunlight is harmful to them, and any other form of light won't be too harmful, though reflection of sunlight is just as bad as being exposed to it directly.
Fire and silver is also particular weaknesses to vampires. While they heal reletively quickly against most other materials, wounds made from fire or silver cannot be healed naturally and require magic. Vampires burn easidly and even an extremely hot surface (Like a stove top) is much more painful to them than for say, a human. Silver in particular can be poisonous if it enters the body but doesn't get out. It could kill a vampire in a matter of minutes if they don't get the silver removed and treated immediately.

Scarlet Briar Academy is a large facility, some would even say that it's more like a city than a school and they wouldn't be wrong. The Scarlet Briar Academy holds a wide variety of shops and markets near it's school that can cater to many customers and have various buildings for recreation or education. The lands around the Scarlet Briar Academy is mostly forest, but there are powerful magical wards meant to keep both the outside world away as well as keep the students inside the academy.
Those who venture too far into the forest will find no path back, as though the forest itself shifts to ensure that anyone who enters never leaves. It's a cursed place that will drive vampires into insanity and indeed those who venture in too deep will find those vampires who have gone feral, as well as other magical monsters. The only landmark a vampire can use to find their way back to the academy is if they find the Misty Lake, a mysterious body of water that, true to it's name, emits a mysterious mist that can't be blown away. While it's hard for vampires to navigate it's the only landmark that special search parties can find and if you are there than they can pick you up. How one finds the Misty Lake from the forest floor is a mystery however. Most vampires have to fly directly to it, as even those who try to venture strait from the academy to the lake on foot are liable to get lost.
Aside from that the Scarlet Briar Academy has various buildings to house students. They have school dormatories, where students will room with up to four other students in a single dorm. Each will get their own small room, as well as a common room with a kitchen as well as a modest sized bathroom. There are three dorm buildings: One for males, another for females, and another that is Co-Ed. Only adult-aged vampires are allowed to have a Co-Ed Dorm. Those with the money can also chose to live in other areas near the Scarlet Briar Academy, from various apartment complexes to even city homes.
The Scarlet Briar Academy offers jobs to it's students for them to earn spending money. The wages are not always consisent and can range from anywhere to hourly pay to large sums, or however else the employer decides to pay anyone who works for them. Most of these jobs are relatively mundane such as helping organize the library or clean the area around the school, but those who earn high marks in class are eligible for more exciting and well paying jobs such as assisting in city projects or working in the forest.
One of the most important structures of the academy however is the Red Fountain. There is a large hall dedicated to the Red Fountain, and various smaller ones scattered throughout the academy. Red Fountains are special fountains that can be used to get a set amount of blood for a vampire to drink from and sustain their thirst. They require special identification cards to use, to prevent wasteful use of the blood. Vampires are only allowed a certain amount of blood per day, which can be tracked on their card, though they can obtain blood by other means throughout the city. The Red Fountains are simply the most convenient .

RP Rules:
1. Luna is the Gm and has the final say in any debate. No arguing or complaining once she comes with a final awnser, and whatever she decides is what is going to happen. If you can't accept that than don't join.
2. Your vampires aren't this RP's vampires. If you have a suggestion you can ask, but that doesn't mean we have to follow it.
3. Talking and debating in the OOC is fine, but if you have problems about what happens in the IC or due to another player, tell the GM's first before you go and pick a fight in the OOC. Being emotional and angry doesn't justify being a jerk.
4. Have fun and relax. While you should always think about your actions, don't sweat the details.
Basic Laws of the Scarlet Briar Academy:
1. You will do no harm to anyone within the Scarlet Briar Academy. Those who are found guilty of any type of physical or sexual assault, theft, or harrassment will be detained and dealt with indefinately.
2. Those who are suspected of any type of crime within the Scarlet Briar Academy will be subjected to monitoring and questioning, and refusal to do so will result in immediate action.
3. You will not reveal the location of the Scarlet Briar Academy or the existance of vampires to anyone outside of the academy in any way, shape, or form. Those who do will be punished severly.
4. Outsiders, such as humans, must be reported immediadietly to proper authorities and avoided at all cost. Do not confront any outsiders without clearance if you are capable of escape.
5. All vampires are required to check into the Academy's Red Fountain Hall to get their regular drink of blood at least once every three days. When doing so you must also have your Identification so that you may check in that you are being properly fed. Failure to do so will result in immedaite action, and repeat offenses will have further consequences.

All vampires have the inherant ability to cast magics, but only the determined ones will even come close to mastering it. When a vampire uses magic, it is linked to their own stamina; those who use multiple or more powerful spells will quickly exhaust and fatigue themselves. Those who train their bodies and magics will use up less energy, and being properly fed of blood will also enable the use of magic. Those who suffer from a thirst of blood will be unable to use their magics.
Vampire magic comes in different types, with the main ones described as the following:
Natural - Natural vampire magic is realted to manipulating exisitng natural objects, or creating them at higher levels. This includes things like water, earth, wind, and even fire. Natural magics have a harder time working with "Proccessed" materials, like wooden furniture or metal, but as one becomes better at natural magics they too can manipulate these things.
Transformation - Transformation magic allows a vampire to change their bodies into different shapes or beings. They can use their magic to do anything from shapeshift into a cat or even into objects like a box or a machine. Higher level users of Transformation magic can turn into more complex things that may not even exist in the real world, as well as partially transform their bodies.
Shadow - Shadow magic utilizes a vampires natural tendency to veer towards darkness, and allow them to interact with them in ways others cannot. They can control shadows like physical objects, shaping them into whatever they need them to be. They can also hide within shadows and make their bodies completely disapear from any sort of detection when in the dark, and higher level Shadow Magic users can teleport between shadows. Sunlight and other forms of light are one of the major weaknesses of shadow magic however. While other lights do not affect shadow objects (But can limit the amount of shadows you can use), sunlight can destory them outright no matter how powerful the vampire.
Illusions - Illusion magic can be used by vampires to hide their true selves from others. They can be used to fool onlookers to sensing things that aren't truly there, or making them unable to sense what really is there. Illusion magic is one of the harder schools of magic for vampires to work with, but those who can could very well manipulate the minds of others once they master it.
Mental - Mental Magic is one of the more simpler, but no less powerful forms of Vampire magic, which allows users only two basic spells: Telepathy and Telekinesis. Mind over matter. Vampires must chose which of the two spells they wish to first master, and once finished they can begin to master the other spell. Telepathy and Telekinesis require their own time to master due to the full abilities each are capable over. Telepathy can be used to not only read minds, but also find memories hidden away in other people's thoughts, even entering their dream world at higher levels. Telekinesis is a much more physical magic, first being not much different than interacting with objects as though you were doing it yourself. But at higher levels telekinesis can be used to move entire buildings, or fling people around with very little difficulty.
Blood - Blood magic is perhaps one of the more useful utility magics a vampire could learn. Blood Magic allows a vampire to use blood for various rituals, such as enchanting objects to healing other vampires. Blood magic also allows a vampire to better utilize blood and learn how to survive without it, and those who Master Blood magic can eventually learn how to overcome their thirst for blood. This magic can also be used to bolster the strength of a vampire, both physically and magically.
