Where are the true heros, the real good guys?

Sorry it just seems too often I see people who call themselves heros while committing acts of brutality that are often more excessive in violence than the villains.

I think it's because playing a Superman-esque character is quite boring, since it doesn't entail character development and creative battle scenes. There's only a certain amount of ways to knock someone out without becoming brutal or lethal.

if it's any condolence, i personally think that Gordon is a monster since he could not use his powers, but he still does. Also Gordon himself has enough self-loathing that i may make him jump off the slippery slope into villaindom later.

My character's not really a hero, he's just doing it because he feels he needs to in order to satiate his bloodlust.
