GM Announcement

Due to RL issues of extreme illness and personal pain in the ass issues from unmentioned sources, I'm going to sideline Khan until farther notice by jumping him and Navi into the Cells.

In addition, since Navi is free is there anyone would like a nudge or interaction with said Droid? I can easily direct him that direction, I merely need to know who's willing.

GM Announcement

Greetings, players.

As you may have noticed, aftermath hasn’t had the same progression lately that it used to have. The reasons are many. Some have had RL issues and others have had issues with their muses. But the biggest issues have been at the roots within Aftermath. There’s not been nearly enough hope for the captives. The rescuers never got anywhere. The GMs take the fault for that, for it is we who did them injustice.

Along with several other flaws of annoyingly stubborn nature, we’ve resolved that there is only one solution that doesn’t take annoying tweaking that nobody likes. We’ve tried forcing the RP to fix it. That didn’t work. The solution is to do another reboot.

Aftermath I had The Hâsk. There was no way to escape, no rescue and obviously no hope. Of course, this trapped players in the same situation forever.
Aftermath II had the Kaggath and the Memory. Escape was planned, but never worked out. They also were both ships, something which limited options for escape and creativity for it as you would haven’t any clear place to go once you left it.
Aftermath III will have Styne IV. Not a ship. A moon. All factions will be present there and on the same timeline, though they may also venture elsewhere.

In Aftermath II, players who chose the rescuers were encouraged to go at a much slower rate which gradually killed off their sense of purpose despite it being predetermined that they were to rescue the prisoners. That goal was a mistake since it relied on setting their timeline back by three days and created much more harm than good due to players speed differences in posting. This time, they will have a much more ambitious goal and independent of the prisoners, allowing them to line up with the present day much easier. Their primary goal is to kill Darth Nyiss.

The actual details of this would be up to the players working with the GMs, enabling them not to start off with nothing but not make their task a simple walk in the park.

Timestamps and time itself in the rp will be more fast and loose, allowing individuals to play out the effect of torture more effectively and evolve their stories a bit more easier. This would also prevent Jedi prisoners from being unaffected by their experiences, have the freedom of being creative in their character’s experiences not directly tied to a Player sith (aka make some up that would help develop their character into the direction they desire), and even draw closer to the other players’ characters in much shorter time.

We would also like to state that we are in early stages of planning the reboot at this time, and thus these previews may be subject to change before release.

It will take a while to finish the planning. So if you have any suggestions for major additions/changes, don’t hesitate to come with them. It's generally easier to change major things early. Aftermath II will not be closed immediately, if anyone still wants to post they are welcome to, however GM oversight will be dropping off fairly significantly.

If you have any questions, feel free to pm or ask them over the OoC.

The last, and most important thing to address is our appreciation. Without players who stick around the way you have, we wouldn’t have had Aftermath. So we cannot thank you all enough. We hope that you will all return when we unveil Aftermath III. As someone once stated: Third time’s a charm and with an ever growing dedicated group we’ve had so far, we hope it will be the best one yet.
