Name: Khan Primarch
Species: Echani
Age: 14
Gender: Male
Faction: Jedi Order
Rank: Jedi Padawan
Captive? Captive
Appearance:
Khan Primarch has pale white skin and silver eyes, like most if not all Echani, and bears a striking but natural similarity to other Echani teens of his age. In a more distinguishing feature his white hair has been cropped short and put in a Padawan's braid. Khan has bright and inquisitive eyes that are quick to observe but slow in forgetting. He's a little short for his age with a crooked smile when he does smile, and those skilled at reading body-language like most Echani would ordinarily find a cheerful and eager young man with boundless curiosity, a sharp intellect and a slightly snarky sense of humor. To most outsiders however his emotional reactions seem flat and highly-controlled at all times.
Notable Characteristics of Species:
Echani Appearance-Echani of the same sex all look fairly similar to each other in terms of physical appearance, and most have white skin, white hair and silver eyes. The Echani resemblance is strong enough that most non-Echani have difficulty telling individuals of the same sex apart from one another and the Echani themselves mainly rely on body language and emotional and psychological cues to tell one another apart.
Echani culture-revolves heavily around combat and Echani believe that it is one of the truest forms of communication, thus almost all Echani are trained in martial arts throughout their lives from a very young age, and fighting both ritual and non-ritual suffuses their lives at every level. They also heavily study tactics on levels ranging from personal combat to mass warfare and Echani military officers are even erroneously labeled as being capable of 'predicting' the moves of their opponents.
Echani Body-Reading-due to their similar appearances and cultural focus on empathy through combat all Echani are raised to be capable of reading the intent, emotions and identities of others through their body-language, especially in combat which they believe to be the truest and purest form of communication.
Flaws:
Khan is still young and inexperienced, fairly naive and physically somewhat weak and yet to begin reaching his full physical potential. In short his biggest weaknesses are those that spring from his still being somewhat young and lacking both emotional and physical maturity. Being imprisoned has not exactly helped matters emotionally and mentally, though Khan has not yet been broken. As someone raised in the Echani culture he can also be a little too willing to fight at times and solve situations with violence although he would consider it 'negotiating' of a sort.
Skills:
Fast Reflexes and improved agility-Even without The Force to supplement him Khan has faster than normal reflexes for a boy of fourteen and is above average in terms of physical agility. These facts compliment both his basic lightsaber skills and ability with Echani Martial Arts.
Curious intellect- Khan is curious and keenly observational, picking up many concepts quickly and possessed of a certain level of talent for mimicry as well as analysis. Though his cultural background means he's so far used this to further his interest in various fighting arts, his bright mind is a useful tool for any endeavor. In addition his culturally acquired skill of body-reading combined with his knack for analysis and mimicry means he can pick up physical skills with surprising ease and rapidity.
Echani-supplemented Shii-Cho Training- As a someone who's been Jedi Padawan for about a year, Khan has some basic training in the first Form of lightsaber combat and is thus basically familiar with the motions, strike zones and techniques required to use a lightsaber. He has also supplemented this with Echani sword-techniques to create a rough, unorthodox but technically functional lightsaber style, though as he has little real combat experience with the weapon and his skills are still developing he can't yet be called truly proficient with a lightsaber.
Echani Martial Artist-Khan had been training in the Echani martial arts since the early days of his childhood, and has at least joked in the past that he had been fighting even before he learned to talk. He not only was tutored personally by a high-ranking military officer in the form of his mother, but also experienced hand-to-hand combat on a daily basis as a part of his everyday life. As such the unarmed and blade-based martial arts of the Echani come about as naturally to him as breathing and he's considered quite proficient by Echani standards and perhaps something of a prodigy by the intergalactic standards one would use to judge a fourteen year old boy.
Echani Body-Reading-As an Echani raised in the Echani culture, Khan has been trained to read the emotions, intent and identity of others through their body-language to the point where he considers even the subtlest movements of one's body, especially in combat, to be the purest form of communication.
Tactical Knowledge-As someone raised by a high-ranking military officer in a culture that holds combat as borderline sacred, Khan has been tutored in tactics on levels ranging from personal combat to interplanetary warfare and is quite a skilled tactician for his age, at least on a theoretical level.
Strong mental fortitude- Khan has a very strong personal sense of will, though others might say instead that he's just somewhat hardheaded and stubborn at times.
Force capabilities:
Though gifted with a decent amount of potential Khan has only begun to scratch the surface of the force.
Force Speed
Khan can barely speed himself up to be a few fractions of a second faster than he would be without this ability
Telekinesis / Throw
Khan is not yet capable of throwing living beings, and can only lift and throw small objects.
Force Sight
Khan is only just learning to use this ability and has only minimal control over it.
Force Sense
As someone born in a society where the ability to read others and the environemnt was paramount, Khan is fairly good Force Sense this given his age and level of experience, though he has yet to truly hone his potential for the ability.
Precognition
Khan has a decent instinctual usage of precognition, but is not always capable of recognizing it for what it is and often disregards his 'instincts' in favor of sating his curiosity or fighting when it isn't advisable
Mind trick
Khan is currently incapable of using the Mind Trick.
Force Jump
Khan can only extend his jump by a few feet in height and/or length and barely reduce injuries from his falls.
{Jedi} tutaminis (basic)
Khan can barely block basic force attacks with effort and concentration.
Biography:
Khan's mother was a female Echani military officer of rather high rank within the Echani military under the Echani Command. As such she and the rest of his family raised him as appropriate both within Echani culture and as the child of a warrior. That is, he was raised with combat both practical and ritual filling every aspect of his life, from greeting his family in the morning to more formal training throughout the day, mostly in hand-to-hand forms and light, bladed weaponry favored by the Echani. Even when he wasn't being formally trained in physical combat or 'communicating' through ritualized combat, his mother set him to studying tactics on all levels, and it was expected that he would become a fine duelist or soldier and perhaps even a gifted military officer in his own right if he studied well enough despite the matriarchal nature of Echani society.
All of this changed when Khan was around 13 years old and a traveling Jedi Knight first found him and revealed his Force Sensitivity. Specifically, when Khan heard that one of the famous 'Jedi Warriors' was visiting near his home he decided to attack said warrior to take a measure of them and see if they lived up to their near mythical reputation. The Knight in question recognized that Khan was subtly and instinctively using The Force in his little 'mock battle' and was impressed enough to strongly recommend he be taken away for training.
Khan's mother was both overjoyed and somewhat saddened by the news. On the one hand, her youngest son would be taken from her but on the other he had the potential to go on to be a great intergalactic warrior as a Jedi and learn modes of combat few Echani ever got to experience. Not to mention of course, he would get the chance to wield the most impressive of swords: a lightsaber. After careful consideration she consented and Khan's life as a Jedi-to-be began. Over the next year Khan trained fiercely to become the best Jedi he could, though he mainly was fascinated by all things involving combat. Not that that did him very much good when Coruscant was sacked and he was one of the younger 'Jedi' taken captive. Khan has since taken as uncooperative and belligerent an attitude towards his captors as possible as befits a captured warrior, awaiting rescue while learning all he can about his new enemies to better defeat them in the future.
Personality and/or Motivation:
Though he's young and rather malleable Khan is far from a blank slate. He wants to bring honor and respect to his family as a Jedi in the future and in the present learn all that he can about just about everything, having never traveled outside of the Six Sisters before coming to Coruscant, so even the prison ship is sometimes a new and interesting environment. He's both used to and fascinated by combat in all of its' forms, but the culture that raised him to view fighting as normalized also raised him to consider empathy, restraint in battle, control over his own emotions and honor as primary virtues. Khan wants to do the right thing overall and become a strong and honorable knight capable of protecting others, despite his youth, his naivete and his flaws.
Player’s long term goals:
Really I'm interested in seeing where this young, suggestible character will wind up as he's influenced by events over the course of the RP. At the moment he's been raised to very much value being a Lightsider of a sort but there's also been far more emphasis on fighting, strength in combat and violence in his life than in that of most Star Wars teens or children and his naivete and youth combined with that could easily be used to change him depending on how the story develops. While he's more skilled than average in some ways given his age at the moment I'm also interested in seeing how his skill-set develops into something unique over time depending on who he has for teachers and what he experiences. In short I want to take a younger character and see how he slowly grows up in the story and universe we're making together, if possible.
Relations:
Currently Khan sees his fellow Jedi both captive and non as allies and authority figures that his family has entrusted him to and views the Sith and forces that have captured him as enemies who he should resist in any way possible when he gets the chance. He's been told that the way of the Jedi is combat but with restraint and that the Jedi way is honorable, so naturally he defers to that.
