[IC] Yugioh: The King's Shadow

Adam checked his pulse and said “that’s better…nice work Cora, I think you stopped the worst. I should have stopped him…my drain wasn’t something a human could have handled…if you hadn’t stepped in it would have been too late” he looked to the others and said “his okay guys, just too much of a drain all at once.” He moved to Yugi when the young man groaned and turned his head. He opened his eyes as the sounds of his friends voices and said weakly “what…happened…”

Serena looked at Yami and saw his face. “Is something wrong? Did you sense something?”

[Jazz]

Cora heard his words, uncurling herself from her position. She had her arms wrapped around her. She realized that this man knew her name and yet she didn't know his at all. "How do you know my name? Have we met before?" She asks warily.

Joey released a breath of relief that he didn't realize he was ever holding his breath as did Tristen. "Thank goodness! You scared us dude!" Tristen exclaims with worry. Seto sighs a breath of relief as well, knocking on the screen to have the driver keep driving.

Yami blinked a few times before shaking his head to clear the fog within. "I don't know. It was strange, a feeling I never felt before. I am alright." He reassures.

Yugi turned his head as Adam smiled at her. “I’m Adam. I’m a friend. And I saw you during the fight…I was the knight. The Twin Hearted Knight…”

Serena stopped him and said “call Seto. Check in with Yugi…”

With the slight tilt of her head, Cora was putting the dots together when it clicked. "I see. How did it happen? How did you go from being a duel monster spirit to having a physical form?" Cora asks.

When stopped, Yami sighed as he pulled out his phone. Instead he called Yugi.

Adam sighed and moved back saying “that’s…a very long and complicated story…and I really shouldn’t tell it without Serena being here…” yugi tried to sit up, shaking as he did. Then his phone went off and yugi picked up saying “Yami?” His voice was still weak and he was barely awake as it was.

[Jazz]

Cora nodded, understanding. She looked out the window, thinking. Wondering what she should do.

"Yugi? You alright?" Yami asks, wondering why he sounded so tired. He wondered if something happened which was the possible source of the feeling he felt.

Yugi tried to get back onto the seat and said “I’m…not sure yet…I tried to help Adam…and things…” he swayed again and his phone dropped as he fell forward.

[Jazz]

Joey reacted as he caught Yugi as he fell forward. "Hey there, be careful Yug'."

"Yugi? Yugi? Are you alright?" Yami asks as Tristen picks up Yugi's phone and answers. "Hey Yami. Yugi's a bit disoriented right now. He'll be fine once he rests."

Yami sighs with some relief and nods. "I understand. Please keep me informed when you can."

"We will. Later." They both hang up.

Serena was on her phone and said “Adam sent a text…yugi tried to help him recover but pulled all the energy he had. Almost stopped his heart…lucky Cora jumped in and kept yugi stable till Adam stopped the drain…” she looked at Yami and said “he is in good hands. The others have him…”

Yugi leaned on Joey and said “sorry…so dizzy…it’s warm in here…”

[Jazz]

Yami let out a huge sigh. "To think he got some of his habits from me. We are like brothers alright...." feeling relief and some slight frustration.

"We'll be there soon." Seto informs them. "Sorry no need to be sorry
Just don't make us freak out like that. EVER..." Joey specifies.

Serena smiled and said “shall we get going? Or do you want to go check on Yugi…”

Yugi said “I didn’t mean to…I just…” he zoned again and Adam moved to check his temp. “His warm. Might be his body in shock”

[Jazz]

Yami shakes his head. "No. As you said he is in good hands. We should get going."

Joey and Tristen kept close to Yugi. The limo slowed to a stop upon reaching their destination. Yugi picked up Yugi in his arms. Tristen willing to give Adam a helping hand should he need it. As everyone filtered out, it was Cora who was the last to come out of the car, hands in her pockets as she kept herself a bit of a distance. Wary and nervous.

Serena smiled and said “okay, where do you want to go first? You know the city better then I do”

Yugi leaned on joeys chest and muttered “are we…back…” Duke walked to Cora and said “don’t worry, everything will be alright. Let’s get Yugi inside then we can fill you in on all of this…sound good?”

[Jazz]

"I may the city better than you but is there anywhere you have seen or heard of that you would like to visit?" Yami asked her. He then wonders for a moment before having an idea. "Well. Now that I think on it, there is an amusement park in town."

Joey got Yugi inside and to the main room. He looks to Tristen and Adam. "Hey Adam? Is there a spare room when can let Yugi rest?"

Cora looks toward Duke when he offered to catch her up on what's been happening. "Alright." Giving a weak smile.

Serena smiled and said “let’s go check that out. It sounds fun”

Adam nodded and said “he can rest in Serena’s room, top of the stairs. Her room is better vented”

Duke walked in with Cora and said “let’s find the siblings…”

Yami nods as takes her hand and leading her to the amusement park. "It maybe getting dark but it won't close till late." Yami informs Serena. He hoped for a peaceful this time.

Cora follows Duke to find the Ishtars. Joey took Yugi to the Serena's room. He lays Yugi down in the bed, taking off his duel disk and shoes before covering him up and leaving the room and heading back to the main room.

When the siblings were found, Marik looks up to see Duke and Cora. "Hey. Everything okay?" He asks.

Tristen looks to Adam. "You need rest too, man. Where is your room?"

Serena smiled as they walked and said “Yami…do you know what happened in the past? To me?”

Adam waved his hand and said “I’m fine…I should help with research…” he was still shaking and pale, high having helped part way but not completely.

Duke said “we need to catch Cora up with all of this…think you can hel0?”

[Jazz]

The question bought a saddened look to Yami's face as he shook his head. "That, I do not know. When I was rediscovering my memories there was no sight or word of you. If there was, I did not see it." He admits to Serena.

Tristen gave Adam a disapproved look, knowing it was bullcrap. "And I'm the pharaoh of Egypt. "If everyone gets to rest up, so are you. So, where's your room?" He asks again.

"Oh! Sure. How far back are we going here?" Marik asked knowing it could technically go further.

Serena nodded and said “I don’t know either…which is strange…but it seems it must have been bad. But it’s in the past right? We are both here now”

Adam sighed and said “hey you never know you could have been…look at the rest of this crew. It’s upstairs and down the right but I’m really fine. I should help explain things to Cora and figure out what the heck happened at the club…” he moved and ran right into a chair behind him and he lowered his head, his leg having hit hard.

Duke blinked and said “that’s…a good point. Crap, not sure how far back to go with all of this…”

What Serena said made Yami feel alittle better conveying it with a small smile and a nod as he gave a comforting squeeze of her hand. "Indeed. That is true."

Tristen put his hands on his hips and shook his head as he watched Adam run into a chair. It would have been entertaining if Adam wasn't already not doing so good. He goes to help Adam and help take him to his room. "You alright?"

Cora looks between the two men and sighs. "How about what going on right now? How I'm able to see deities and why the duel I was with Yugi actually hurt?" She asks them almost sounding like she was a little desperate but that most likely coming from being tired and scared.

Marik noticed her change of character and could relate. He nods and explains what was basically going on. The god Apep trying to come out of his prison and cloak The world in darkness. And some gods and goddesses are taking a stand with the help of their chosen blessed. "As for the duel that were apart of with Yugi, it was known as a Shadow Duel. Instead of it just being lifepoints, it is also attacking the spirit."

Cora had sat down as Marik explained what she requested of them. It was quite the information to take in and process. "So just to get myself on straight. Most if not all gods and goddesses are real and Duel Monster has a dark twist to it...."

Marik blink a few times. He realized that is was definitely alot to take on. But for Cora to process that's was a start. "Correct."

Cora nods, messing with her fingers nervously. She didn't know what else to say.
