Ṭhe Story So Far...

All was calm at Yarvan High Security Prison. That is, until its security, long witstanding the ravages of protests, weak hex attacks and some higher level hexes, finally was breached.

The breach was from inside as well as out; a Hex had broken into the Southeastern portion of the prison while being subtly assisted by someone on the inside who had managed to assume control of a computer terminal to confuse sections of guards running to support the section and stop a half-baked emergency plan to exterminate the entire section; for the integrity of the Southeast section was much worse than initially appeared. A power failure, caused by a surge when the Hex that broke in damaged the wall, resulted in collars for every hex in A section to malfunction.

The hex escapees made it into the Southwest forest, and managed to evade the Police Force and specialized agents hunting for them alike. They have made camp at a house in a nearby neighborhood where police force have given up searching tonight, but tomorrow...

Setting of the Prison

A large, almost fortress like structure, surrounded by turrets, personnel from local and government forces, and ultimately the one of the top prisons in Michagan, although there is one maximum security prison for level “S” hexes elsewhere in a hidden location. This one is designed to accommodate all ranks D-A, with each corner of the prison having a hall (Northwest is “B”, Northeast is “C”, Southeast is “A”, and Southwest is “D”). Naturally, being the place of highest security, the Southeast corner is the most heavily protected, with security being a little more lax going down from B to C to D. No level S Hexes are contained at this prison; however, underground there are solitary cells for the troublemakers.

In the center there is the Command, where all the food is made, orders are processed, staff are located and security is managed. Each section does, however, depend upon each security tower to function. If there is a breakout, sections can “lock down”, which means that the center must be taken for anything to get done, as the center can lock down as well.

Guards consist of roughly 200 members inside and 300, including some turrets, on the outside that are controlled by the Command. Each section has specialised staff, with the Southeast corner having an elite team designed to contain any breakout there.

Basically, it takes an army or a very good spy to make something go wrong.

Roither Stallman

Hex High Security Prison “Yarvan”; Near the Northwest Security Tower in the “B” Hall - 12:00 AM

It was a wonder that Stallman had made it as far as he did at all. Not only gaining entry, but also as an employee; albeit, a rather low end one, as his job consisted of serving food to inmates. Still, he was in, and that allowed him to learn the layout for later on, when he would strike a bitter blow against the government… nothing like having high level Hexes running about the city. But that was for later.

For now, he inserted plates of rather crappy looking substance into holes of cells, currently in the “B” section. Curses were being thrown at him by inmates from all directions. If only I could tell them what I really am… But, of course, that would ruin the entire plan.

He was hoping to access at some point the “C” Northeastern security tower, where he would be able to get into via a set of security vents that he scouted the night before briefly. From there, he could temporarily shut down the security on C cells, which would provide enough distraction to get into the “B” cell tower and cause some real chaos. By then, enough inmates would be able to break free and attack guards that he would be able to open “A” cells at leisure, with “D” coming last - they tended to be the least effective at any rate.

At least, that was the plan. And naturally, plans didn’t always work… he intended to spend at least a few more days exploring and formulating his plans. Perhaps he would be able to get some help? The Command in particular was a problem. He ought to take that out first… but how?

Benson Halther

Local Police Force Headquarters; Coffee Room

Halthar hated his post. Here he was, a man who had taken down some higher level hexes, an agent in the HTS; and there was no action at all. He might be getting paid to sit on his buttocks all day, but there was nothing in that to make him feel like he accomplished anything. The last person to go to the state prison was sent in there three months ago. He stared at his coffee with a blank expression.

He took a sip of coffee, noting that a call had come in from his superior. One of the ‘status updates’, no doubt.

He took the call when he put his cup down. “Yes?”

The voice of his old supervisor came across. He didn’t turn on the hologram display and had no intention to, so he listened to the old guy’s voice. His face looked like it went through a processing plant for dull wrinkly faces, so he definitely didn’t want to scar his boring day with that loathsome expression. He was already scarred for life having met the man in person.

“Agent Halthar, what is your status? Anything on yet? It’s getting close to the season…”

Halthar managed to hold back his sigh. “No sir, no activity so far. Looks like we might have a clean year…”

“You know that isn’t going to happen. Keep on alert, and make sure to take out anyone suspicious. We don’t need a repeat of last year.” His supervisor ended the call.

Halthar put the phone down, allowing his long sigh to come out. Getting close to the season… it was already a month in with nothing going on. For now, all he could hope was that he wasn’t stuck on training recruits duty...

Darkness.... Silence.... This is what has made up her past 6 years since she entered this hell hole. Her wrists and ankles were raw and covered with scars from previous injuries inflicted by the very chains used to bind her down. She was much thinner than she used to be and she looked and played the part, the society gave her, very well; an animal. Occasionally a guard would come in to give her water in a small bowl that was hoisted up by a 30 foot pole. Once the bowl touched her lips, she would devour the water mercilessly. she didn't care to check if it was poisoned or not because if it was; at least she'd finally be able to die and not continue to live in the state she was in. She hated humans as much as she hated living, but still regarded herself by the name her parents gave her for some reason. Her name was Ace....

Apollo was lying on his prison bed waving his hand back and forth through the one beam of sunlight allowed within the room. He would then make light orbs float around him and spin. He was bored, He hadn't been let out out his cell to fight another rouge in a while. "why haven't they let us out" He says to the floating orbs around him since none of the guards are with in the cell to hear him. He was annoyed and kept making the orbs spin around. There was over 20 guards surround his cell which was a room within a larger room. The larger room was almost 2 stories high.

Drex just floated in the sky, looking down at the prison, trying to find a way to get in from above. "If only there weren't so many turrets." The fire wouldn't do anything, and with all the turrets he wouldn't be able to do anything.

He remembered how he was treated when he was in the prison, like absolute crap. He wanted to get them out so they didn't have to suffer through that for any longer...

The silence was disturbed in Ace's cell when 2 guards banged on the steel door to her cell. The heavy door opened and the voice of one of the prison guards hollered, "Hey you filthy dog! you dead yet? 'cause it's feeding time so you better start begging your masters to feed ya!" Even though Ace couldn't see them she knew that the guard that just yelled at her had a cocky smirk on his face, as she heard the other guard snicker. with Ace giving no response the first guard walked up to her and grabbed her by the hair.
"Hey, mutt! you dead or what? come on! beg already!" he yelled letting go of her hair only to punch her strait in the mouth.
now irritated he continued to beat on her face until he tired. Ace could taste iron from the blood that spilled from her nose and mouth. the guard was about to make another blow at Ace's mouth but this time she had enough and was ready this time. before the guard could land the blow, Ace sank her teeth into the guard's hand and bit down hard. she could taste the warm, iron taste of blood again but this time it wasn't of her own, it was the guard's blood she tasted. The guard shrieked in agony and started beating down on Ace again but this time with his baton until Ace got dizzy from blood loss and released the shrieking guard's hand. the 2 guards then rushed out of the room and headed over to the "B" wing.
When finally reaching the B Wing the first guard had calmed down enough to start spiting and cussing at Ace. "Damn brat! if she wasn't an A class i would have killed that little piece of shit!" the first guard yelled.
"it's hard to believe though... such a young kid having so much power at her disposal.... not only that but she was turned in at a young age too... i can see why her parents didn't want her...." the other guard replied.
"yeah well the brat is just another monster that should've been killed a long time ago if you ask me."

He was still there, in the sky. "If I could get someone to get me in there, dressed as a gaurd..." He spoke to himself out loud.

He remembered his old friend, Rodney who was a gaurd in the prison. He had encountered Drex many times before, and did not hurt him. But would Rodney be willing...

"Quatre...par quatre, nous faire une porte~" I chirp as I work, finding that singing to myself made the chipping with the nail slightly less arduous. The design of the wide entryway slowly started to take form in the wall of the complex as I stuffed the ends of pumpkin seeds into the small slits. I knew I didn't have much time before the next round of patrols found me, so the second bit of the plan was unplanned and would probably get messy. That is how pumpkins always get when used as improvised explosives. Thankfully, in this experiment, I was not expected to clean it up.

Breathing the sickly sweet black mist of my breath into my hands, I sigh to myself before bracing to crack the seeds' shells.
"Cinq...par cinq, nous prenons la plongée" I conclude the prayer as I knock the seeds into their shallow holes with the heel of my palm, the mist crackling in time to the breaking seeds which groaned and twisted inside the wall. Trying to grow pumpkins in concrete was a new element to the test, and I was careful to respect this at a safe distance.
---------------
Cobweb cracks shot out from the indents as bolts of emerald vines wore through the compromised stone as Luciel plugged his ears from the noise. On the other side of the wall, what started as a dull groan quickly picked up as hunks of rebar were pushed out into the room, vines coiling at thin air before turning brown and crumbling. The wall heaved and then crumbled, guts from torn up pumpkins spilled out into the room as a few flowers bloomed from the mess. Carefully, Luciel stepped through the mess, putting a hand on the wall to brace themselves as they peered into the room, their eyes adjusting to the light transition. It the alarms weren't going off, yet, it would only be a minute or two, tops, before the aforementioned patrol would notice the ungraceful hole in the side of their prison.

"Hello?" Luciel called, roses springing from his sleeve as a long bladed thorn slid into his hand, his favored weapon concept, rapiers.

(whoops, forgot I'm not doing first-person anymore >_< )

Drex, waiting in the shrubs nearby, saw the strange hex breaking into the prison. Another round of guards were 75 feet away. He didn't want to call out and make noise, but didn't want to let him die. He had to take matters into his own hands.

Apollo felt the rumble and smiled. "finally some action" He said as he stood up off his couch and stood in the square where they tell him to usually stand waiting for the guards.
The guards began running around and said "weapon H is ready for extraction." Then the square below Apollo began to lift him up into a hole in the ceiling. The elevator brought Apollo into the upper level where a chain was attached to his chains and they begin to lead him to a tower overlooking the courtyard. "weapon H is on the move to Location 2, prepare tower for lock down" One of the guards was saying into the communicator.

Drex could feel his hands getting colder, and colder as small ice crystals rapidly turned into sharp, smooth, shards of ice. He sent them floating above his head, and sent three of them at lightning speed into three of the guards necks. They spattered as blood came pouring out of their throats.

Luciel cautiously stepped around the mess, their attire being less than ideal for trodding through sloppy uneasy footing. Beginning to have doubts about the placement of the hole, he had little time to consider a revision before the stomps of the inevitable guards turned his attention behind himself.
His first few swipes missed, one of the guards catching the tip with the handle of their knight stick, snapping the thorn in two. He had little time to react before being siezed by the guards. The first one dropped his knightstick to grab Luciel's arms, swiftly pinning his wrists behind his back with one hand while trying to put him in a sort of headlock from behind. "Get her legs!" He shouted while three of the guards who drew their weapons collapsed in a pool of viscera from the inside assailant.
Luciel used what little reach he could manage to pull his legs up and drive his heels into the gut of the second to last guard, sending him sprawling into the rocky sludge. The hex groaned and squirmed, barely able to udder a sound through the guard's gradually tightening grip, attempting to choke Luciel out. Lifting Luciel the rest of the way off his feet to accent his determination, he would have received a nasty headbutt to the face if it weren't for the convenient visored helmets which were standard issue.

Ace heard everything from the collapsing wall to the fighting around her, everything was so sudden and overwhelming. Though weak from the earlier beating and confused, Ace mumbled, "W-what's going on?! who's there?!" It was the first time she spoke in 3 years. After a bit she mumbled, "hey! tell me what's going on...!" Ace swung her head around, with what remaining strength she had left, trying to shake off the tightly bound blind fold covering her eyes so she could see what was happening; but to no avail, the blind fold was too tightly tied for Ace to shake off.

Hex High Security Prison “Yarvan”; Near "Command" - 4:00 PM

Stallman was just about to go off duty when the alarms went off.

Guards ran in all directions, with orders over the loudspeakers: "Attention! Security Breach! All divisions deploy, Command is going on lockdown; Southeast is compromised! All teams, isolate perimeter!"

Running into the command lobby, where guard officers, cameras and a growing crowd of general staff were already located, he asked one of the stationed agents what was going on.

"Hex attack. From what I hear, are organized. We're getting most of the personnel in here and out of A hall. If we can't lock it down in five minutes, we're gassing it."

Stallman thanked the agent but was secretly dismayed. Gassing? Kill off everyone in A hall? That's not going to do at all...

He moved in the direction of the control room. With people going in and out frantically, he had no trouble getting in.

He looked around. Monitors everywhere, status reports coming in... chaotic. And there was one computer without anyone sitting there... Now's the chance.

Sitting down at the booth, he got a feed of hexes attacking the southeast wall and security system failure messages. A box was ready to be pressed. No doubt it was the one to gas the section...

Stallman closed the prompt and sent a feed to the Southeast Control Tower. "There's an attack on the west side! Anyone you can get, send there now. There's a level S on the way, repeat, a level S!"

He grinned when a few of the security guard squads in a matter of minutes looked around in confusion before heading into the wrong direction. Maybe, just maybe, the breach would succeed. Just then, he felt a hand on his shoulder and a slightly angry voice behind him.

"What are you doing on my terminal?"

Local Police Force Headquarters; Coffee Room

Halthar got yet another message. Sighing, he took the call. "What is it now?"

"We have a security breach at Yarvan. All agents are being called in. Get your ass off that chair and get moving!"

Almost spilling his coffee, Halthar got up and signalled to the Police Force sergeant sitting at the nearby table.

"Problem at Yarvan, have a squad follow me."

On that note, he checked his gun as he went into his car, and drove off in the direction of Yarvan.

Apollo soon arrived at the main tower. The guards brought him to the top of the tower where they strapped him in. "Prepare the mirrors." said the head guard. The other guards began to hit switches making mirrors come out around the tower and reflect light straight to Apollo. Apollo began to absorb the sunlight and the harness he was in turned so he was facing the wing that the break in was in. "keep an eye on that bridge, it's the only way they can get to the rest of the prison. If you see anyone who isn't a soldier open fire."

{{gurl ain't waitin to be saved she saves herself! XD}}

Being surrounded by the sounds of alarms, gun fire, explosions, and yelling over whelmed and confused Ace driving her to nearly insanity. These sense of being overwhelmed caused her body to acted on its own. Fire engulfed Ace's body, burning the blind fold along with anything and everything in the room that wasn't quick enough to flee or protect themselves.the heat of the flames melted the circuits in the shock collar tied around her neck and though her body was completely swallowed in fire she did not burn. Ace was acting on complete instinct like a senseless beast.

Just as his vision began to blur, the whoosh of a backdraft accented the billowing flames that washed around the two. The guard's grip gave as he broke composure, screaming and stumbling a few steps before slipping and bashing his face in on a hunk of concrete. Leaving the man to burn, Luciel coughed, holding himself up on the wall. Looking over his shoulder at the inferno, he lifted a hand to shield his eyes, hoping the Hex was collected enough to see that he wasn't a threat. "Are you okay?" He joked, trying to get a view of the outside to check for potentially more guards.
His clothes were singed around the hems and lace, writhing as though they were alive and with a mind of their own. Softly, a black mist washed out from the damaged sections which crumpled and fell off, letting the new growth repair his attire and restore its brilliance. "I am sorry I vahz not as fast I could haf been" he apologized in a calming tone, trying to talk Ace down from her state as he immediately recognized her as a Hex.

Ace was breathing heavily letting out a few occasional roars, growls, and screams. She thrashed about wildly trying to break free of her chains and run away as fast as she could. The role of being an animal that was set by society is something she played well. Ace's attention snapped to Luciel; she glared at him with a dead look in her eyes that was of intense fear and horror for a moment, that quickly turned to that in which expressed no life and was that of an empty shell. The fire died down slightly as her eyes watered up and she started to cry as Ace murmured quietly, "I....can....see...I...don't....want...to...die..." then collapsed, face down, from exhaustion. the fire surrounding Ace then died down completely leaving an few small, stay flames scattered about throughout the room.

He took a hesitant step back as Ace stalked her cell, unsure if he'd broken into a good enough cell since the girl seemed quite damaged. It couldn't be helped, "Associating yourself vith animals vill eventually lower you to their level..." Luciel muttered in his rough English, not caring to suppress his accent while talking to himself...aaaand because the only person in the room worth talking to had collapsed.
"Ouf...what a mess" Luciel sighed, quickly scooping her up in his arms. Off in the distance of the complex, alarms were blaring. It was an oversight, the events being a formidable distraction from what he had expected. Hesitantly, he took a few steps around the room as if forgetting what he was doing before shaking his head.

Old ghosts, new tomb.

And now the hard part, scrambling security and an expanse of open ground ripe for being gunned down in. Luciel had a faint hope that his unseen assistant was still around, although this did nothing to shake the feeling that his plan had been woefully flawed from the beginning. It had, after all, relied on whomever he broke out to be able to help him escape, as well.
Panic began to set in as he slowly came to terms with just how trapped they were.
Luciel shifted her weight to feel at the small pouches of seeds in his pockets. It wasn't often that he overexerted himself to the point of exhaustion, but the thought of summoning a small forest for cover seemed like a feat which could bring it to question. Cover wasn't worth a dime if he couldn't use it, and having to carry someone at the same time?

Apollo waited for anyone to come out on the bridge. He was getting impatient. Over the com, they hear a guard say "One Hex has broken into the facility. He is still in the cell with Hex in that cell." The head guard in the room picked up the com and said " All units evac cell block." He then looked at Apollo said "seal up the entrance when the guards are clear." Apollo nodded and began to charge up some sunlight to seal the entrance to the cell block.

"Hey!" Drex called out to the pink haired figure who seemed to be a hex. "Run towards me!" Layer after layer of compacted ice was put over the figures head. "this is your last chance. Run! Now!"
