Profile: An odd man, David has been investigating the occult since he was a teenager. At first it was innocent fun, dig here and look there, chase a lead for every drop it was worth before moving on. However as he went deeper and deeper into the world he began to find certain truths, not the whole truths or even a quarter of them but that did not stop the gnawing at his conscience. He took to drink easily enough, a coping tool that worked only slightly. His youthful enthusiasm is gone, all David wants now is the truth.

Profile: When Wesley planned that camping trip to the lake with his friends, he never could have imagined that they’d all end up dead. That summer weekend turned into three days of hell for those 15 kids, and the only survivor owes it to them to figure out why they were brutally murdered. Normally chill and timid, Wesley has discarded those ways for a more up front attitude, tending to be brash and confident in the face of adversity. Before all this started, Wesley was going to college for writing, and he plans to document his story for the world.

Wesley’s Bike- This is the Bicycle that Wesley’s owned since he was 16. The light blue Paintjob shows signs of chipping, but besides that the thing is very well kept.

Wesley’s Wallet- The black leather of this wallet contains a picture of him and his friends where the ID would normally be, and a twenty dollar bill slipped inside the pocket.

James’ Bat- The metal baseball bat that belonged to Wesley’s best friend, James. Stained in blood.

Karen’s Backpack- The pink backpack that Karen had asked Wesley to carry before she was killed. Still contains some of the stuff she packed for the trip, including a change of woman’s clothes, two granola bars, a bottle of water, a notebook with ten written pages, and two pens. Still has a lingering scent of vanilla.

Axe (Weapon)- This is a typical fire axe with wooden and padded grip and red blade. One would think that it would be a common sight in junction with firefighting equipment, but the major of Veroia recently banned them due to citizens hacking each other to pieces. Some of the axes survived the purge, but most of them are quite broken and well-used.

Name: Cecelia Garron

Height: 5'6"

Profile: Cecelia comes from a large city not unlike Veroia in size and composition. It would often be filled with many a people. Some travellers, a few businessmen and women wo were on their daily commute, and then there were the lower class. Cecelia was part of the latter. She didn't do very well begging for change, so instead took money from others. To make work easier, she started meddling with some unholy help, which she found roots in Veroia. Seeing no harm in following the origins of her dark help she's been following, Cecelia soon finds that there is harm, when she's taken as a sacrifice for a ritual of the occult followings she herself had been learning about and following. Her last pre-ritual sight is of a large burst of darkness overhead, interrupting the dark ritual.

• Fingerless gloves: worn, yet comfortable gloves Cecelia often wears with her ragged, baggy-looking clothes.
• Dark cloak: Cecelia wears this a lot, especially while thieving at night. It has a hood that covers most of her face without impeding her vision and a mask that comes up to cover her mouth and nose if needed.
• Paper fragments: paper torn from books Cecelia used to learn more about the occult group in which tried to sacrifice her. Not much use for them now...
• Car keys: "I just kinda... Woke up with them"

Name: Ryan O'Malley

Height: 5' 9"

Profile: Doctor O'Malley is a surgeon, a general one that worked in a small, country hospital. The occult and the weird, mysterious things that happened in the world were an interest of his; something that kept him up some nights, reading and researching away to fulfil his innate curiosity. His quiet nature hid the stresses he was under though; work piling up, patients who deteriorated no matter what he did, it all got to him slowly. Then one day he found a spell that would supposedly bless his hands with the ability to heal anything. He attempted the ritual, only for it to go bad, obviously. He was taken over by a demon and he ripped himself apart in his own home. Much, much later he awoke in the Dark City.

Profile: David is probably the last person who should be found in Veroia. He is a fun-loving kid who made lots of friends and played baseball. He was in the Goldilocks zone of schooling, being neither too bad with his studies nor too good, but he has an inclination towards mathematics as well as reading and writing due to his writer father. His family lives in a near-complete American dream, being in the high-middle income, with a baby girl on the way. They don't condone violence in any way in the house, and as such David was never exposed to it except for the inevitable schoolyard incidences he both witnessed and tried to stop on several occasions (shucks, kids!), and as such is completely unprepared when he disappeared into the back of a van and blacked out.
