Looks like we hit a slow spot...anybody feel like doing a collab to breathe some life back into the IC? @Frettzo if you were serious about the Ryak thing we could still do that.

Sure man. It's been an active week at the beach, so send me a PM with a short summary on what we spoke of about Ryak as well as a link to a pad.

Well we have come to a slow down at the moment but that doesn't mean we can't band together and keep this together although everything is pretty medium here.

@Blackmist16 we'll tough it out. It just so happens a lot of our peeps are busy getting ready for school/college and I'm in my holidays. If I start working on that collab with Cyclone then we'll have some activity inbound in a few days fo sho xd

Also, just created the Carenthian City States >:)
Similar to the Ancient Greek City States. Largely human, pretty big populations (around 140,000 in total). Will try to get a map up soon, but it's basically that peninsula just west of Dusis.

Tomorrow I will try to post something with Ialu's Zealots. Care for some interaction between them and your new city states?

They already trade with New Garakai and Brightwood, and I'd have them attack the realm of the dead simply because they know that their god hates Thulemiz, but it seems like there are already a ton of forces at work with the undead over there. Probably no need to add another hand to help spin more stuff into the spiderweb plot that's going on over there.

That's a good idea, I'd say

Sure. Given almost no information on the city states, I'm not sure what the collab would involve though.

Escre's not going to be very happy about all this meddling with the process of souls and death.

Funny, I read the post and instantly guessed that Escre would be mad. But then again, he turned a blind eye to necromancy and the trapping/stealing of souls.

Hmm, just thought that an afterlife was rather important. Being a god of spirits, Escre can do something permanent about it, obviously. Though I don't know why he'd be mad, tbh

@Cyclone Populations-wise:

Sarkosh: 20,000
Myanese: 15,000
Caraxa: 25,000
Zafil: 50,000
Nax: 10,000
Smaller cities, villages and towns: 20,000

Nax is a warrior city state, their way of life is concentrated around war and battle (something of a Sparta) while the others are a fair balance. They are all seafaring and most travel between city states happens via sea, and there's a lot of trade. Culturally they're all rather similar, though I have not yet worked out any details. As they are an NPC nation, I'm open to anyone intervening ICly crating/adding to their overall culture or the culture of a particular city state, or even adding city states.

Necromancy was simply some minor screwing around in a major operation. Like a string of 1000-dollar thefts in a multi-million-dollar corporation. Changing how the system itself works, however, is like passing new laws that restrict and phase out parts of that corporation, forcing huge shifts and loss of revenue. It's much more dire, and the perpetrator of said malfeasance, much more a high-profile wrong-doer.

Escre would be disheveled by the new realms because the Spirit already performed a function. It strips away the memories and properties a soul gained in its life, storing them over the course of several lifetimes. Good and evil aren't forgotten, but removed so that the spirit may continue. In the eyes of Escre, spirits themselves are not to be wasted in sizable quantities. Necromancy, to my knowledge, wasn't a permanent blip in the cycle. If the undead is destroyed a second time, the soul continues on. Huge amounts of spirits being stuck in heaven or hell for eternity would be a big disruption in the process, and require a constant manufacture of new spirits to replace the ones forever lost.

@Kho

I imagine he'd be mad because souls are stolen. Prrsumably they go to some hell or to the afterlife forever and canmt be reincarnated; it also bypassed the Astral Home and might even render powers attached to it obsolete. But anyways, that's just my assumption. I should let Lugubrious explain.

He beat me to it.

For the city states, perhaps Zealots attempt to invade and sieze one (or maybe just some land from one) to get a foothold in Orabahk for trading posts and such? Or just to pillage and enslave. Either way, the Zealots have been awfully peaceful and that should maybe change

@Lugubrious Hmm, I remember you saying that new souls would be created with new births in the case of a lack of souls in the Astral Home, so I assumed that souls not returning there would not actually cause any havoc.

I mean, it wasn't my intention for Vowzra to gain the enmity or anger of Escre through this, but if it does, then fair enough. As things stand, the creation of those three planes was necessary for some stuff I discussed with both Cyclone and Frettzo, and Vowzra wouldn't just do it for no reason, and having an afterlife seemed like a legit reason.

@Cyclone Sure, you can invade xP

@Lugubrious And the destruction of the undead does not release the soul. Perhaps weaker necromancers would lose the souls, but those as powerful as the Silent Six and the Great Lich would simply cause the souls to return to them
