I was just wondering if it was something that I would have Ialu teach to his group. Right now I think he'll just teach humans to make and use spears, hunt, and have ceremonial duels.

Sure, but my point was that something like ten years ago they were still naked cavemen. There was no huge timeskip and it was never stated that they learned it on their own. But I rest my case. Is there any complex emotion (pleasure, pride, envy, and so on) Escre can feel? Like, if Kraken showed up and said Escre was a worthless piece of divine crap, would Escre even be offended?

Only if he started wrecking things that Escre cared about. Escre can feel emotions emanating or given from others but isn't good at having its own.

Even the most twitchy of people/animals/what have you, get caught off guard.

Not when your number-one feature is excellent vision, and when you've got superhuman speed and agility. The were designed to be more like ghosts than people or animals.

Still, a few of the slowest and dullest probably have been killed, yeah. The species grows stronger for their loss.

I'd like to read a post about one of the best Outsiders being caught off guard by a bunch of Dyun/Cimex and having all of his escape routes blocked off. The shame and frustration in the last few lines of that post would be delicious xD
