Legends, stories scattered through time. Mankind has grown quite fond of recounting the exploits of heroes and villains, forgetting so easily that we are remnants, byproducts, of a forgotten past. Man, born from dust, was strong, wise, and resourceful. But he was born into an unforgiving world. An inevitable darkness, creatures of destruction. The creatures of Grimm set their sights on man and all of his creations. These forces clashed and it seemed the darkness was intent on returning man’s brief existence to the void. However, even the smallest spark of hope is enough to ignite change and in time, man’s passion, resourcefulness and ingenuity led them to the tools that would help even the odds. This power was appropriately named, “dust”. Nature’s wrath in hand, man lit their way through the darkness and in the shadow’s absence, came strength, civilization, and most importantly, life. Even the most brilliant lights eventually flicker and die. And when they are gone… darkness will return. So, you may prepare your guardians… Build your monuments to a so-called free world, but take heed… There will be no victory in strength.

Hello and welcome to Beacon. My name is Glynda Goodwitch. You are among a privileged few who have received the honor of being selected to attend this prestigious academy! Our world is experiencing an incredible time of peace, and as future Huntsmen and Huntresses, it is your duty to uphold it. Buried amidst the crowd, an extremely young looking girl fights to reach the exit
"Get out of my way, stupid giants."
she mutters angrily, diving between a much larger students legs to reach the door before rolling to her feet on the other side. Kanika pushes her brightly died hair back out of face, adjusting her armor and wiping dust from her small shoulders. the tiny huntress looks back into the crowd, scanning for familiar faces and finding none
"I wish those guys had agreed to come to Vale with me,"
she complains internally, slumping back against one of the main doors, her rather unique aquatic outfit and technicolor hair making the dark-skinned girl quite visible in spite of her statue. As the crowd empties into the hall, Kanika silently examines the other students, aqua eyes studying their armor and weapons quite closely.
Wonder who I'm going to end up teamed with?"
she ponders, occasionally seeing a person of interest, be it a weapon or odd feature that catches her eye

Ranulf Edom ;; Location - Gardens of Beacon Academy

That speech...was surprisingly short and concise, something Ranulf was pretty content about. He hadn't been impressed with long-winded and sugary speeches at the age of five, and he wasn't even more impressed at the age of seventeen. As the other students drained out of the speech area, Ranulf waited a few more minutes, allowing the crowd to simmer down before he exited. He didn't have a real destination in mind;; He had wanted to unpack and familiarize himself with the dorms, but there were no announcements concerning such things, and he was in no real hurry to find them in the first place. It seemed as if they were supposed to familiarize themselves with the Academy itself, first, which he had no troubles with at all. Exploration could be fun...especially if you ran into an enemy along the way.

It was one of the reasons why he enjoyed RPG games. If only, in life, you could run into a group of Goblins while walking down the road. By now, the crowd had simmered away from the Assembly Hall, and Ranulf approached the large wooden doors that blocked him from the outside courtyard. With a minor flick of the finger, the doors were opened widely, and Ranulf walked through the gap, hands resting in his pockets. Dark orange eyes gazed around, honing in on the large, statued fountain a ways away, before Ranulf sighed and began heading in a random direction.

"I guess I'll walk 'till I drop." He grumbled. He really wanted to release the stress of the day by doing some 'light' training, but with no room to do it, he could only do...well, nothing. His walking unwittingly took him to the Beacon Gardens, and as he walked passed the different roses and tulips, he paused at the crystal-blue pond. A cool breeze was floating through the air, and a half grin began to form on his face, showing slightly elongated canines. "I might be able to get in some light training, after all..." This was a pretty calming and solitary place, after all. Taking a quick break to take off his scarf and sit it on a nearby bench, Ranulf unshouldered his dark black and crimson backpack, letting it fall to the same bench with a loud, metallic 'thump'.

The boy began stretching, eyes closing as he felt his drawn bones pop into place. "Ah..."

Pax Ianthe

The speech wasn't too bad, but Pax was still dozing on and off during the whole thing. He had only heard tidbits like 'Privileged few,' 'Upholding duty,' 'Honing skills' and 'Wasted energy,' Something Pax had heard before, perhaps too much. He liked that the speech, it wasn't too time wasting and irrelevant. After the speech he didn't really have a plan to go anywhere, he just waited a bit until the scuttling students have thinned out, noting a student screaming something about giants to which Pax lightly laughed to himself about.

After the herd thinned out, Pax began walking where his legs could take him. Pax was kinda shocked at the immense grandeur of the Academy, Not as big the pictures huh he said, whistling at the building. Letting his legs take the reins again, green met his eyes and the smell of pastures plastered his nose. His legs had led him to the garden, it was pretty large. He glanced at a crimson headed girl- boy, doing something. With a sigh, he shrugs it off and gets himself comfortable under the shade of a tree. Resting his eyes again, he was slowly dozing off, watching the leaves rustle and fall.

NORSUN

Nor rushed to get out of the auditorium as soon as the speech had finished, the press of bodies causing his anxiety to skyrocket the entire time, assuming this may be what drowning felt like to everyone else , unsure if his shortness of breath came from the unfimiliar situation, or just the humidity of,the mask he wore now, the rather uncomfortable accessory a seemingly long term piece of his wardrobe for the time being. He'd have to fiddle with it some, see if he couldn't get a better ventilation system going. Regardless he was still thankful for the item, unusual fashion choices seemed to be the norm for the eccentric who chose this life. He could probably get by without too much fuss.

He shifted the immense mace like weapon that was latched to his back to a more comfortable position, looking around a bit cluelessly at the surrounding area trying to get his bearings of the place. With a frustrated sigh that sounded much closer to a growl through the the mask, he shuffled through his belongings before pulling out a rather faded looking pamphlet, something his father had found gathering dust in the compound. It was basically a guide to Beacon, a small map on the back giving the layout of the of the school to any would be visitors. He quickly noted, however , that much like anything else that didn't pertain to salvage operations, the pamphlet seemed rather outdated, probably some debris from an employer from god knows how long ago. Evidence to the fact being that the arrival point was on the docks of the school by boat, an entrance to the school that hadn't been used in nearing a decade, and the fact that there were only 5 buildings in display. Frustrated, Nor flung the offending piece of paper in the air with little care, trying to figure out what they were supposed to be doing for now, stumbling as a decked out, pint sized mash of colors nearly knocked his legs from under him.

Turner Miyahata

After the speech from Professor Ozpin, Turner decided to follow the main group of students flooding out of the auditorium. He was here, finally here. Turner was going to become a hunter, he'd get to help people and destroy the Grimm. Turner walked out of the Auditorium and decided he should get some fresh air. Still pondering, Turner took Kaminari Inazuma and carried it around one-handed in it's sword mode, also revealing his symbol on his back which was covered by the sword. Could he do it? Would he actually make it through Beacon? Would he be good enough? Things he would have to make sure he was. He had to become good enough, he had to do it. It's all Turner has wanted to do since he joined Signal, and now he's at Beacon!

Still stuck for something to do, Turner carried on wondering the school grounds until he saw a statue near the front entrance of the school. It was an immense looking statue which had two hunters one top of a rock, the seemingly male one holding a sword up high with a beowolf beneath the rock. Was this a homage to the first hunters? Maybe. Still it looked really cool, and Turner seemed to be staring at it for ages. This could have inspired many students before him in doubting times, but either way, today was the first steps to reaching the title of Hunter.

During the short entrance ceremony that the first years had been tasked to attend, Honey Lawson pushed her way through the masses, trying to get as close as possible to the man that had been her idol for many years now.

Ah, ohmagawd ozpinistotallyrightinfrontofmeeee! she squealed in her head. Her pink eyes were wide as they stared at the man with total endearment and wonder. It was an absolute treat for Honey to have finally been accepted into Beacon, as she was one step closer to-- Wait... it is too soon to make such assumptions. First, I need to get him to notice me, by becoming an amazing Huntress. she told herself in her head. Standing in the front row and totally beaming as Ozpin made his speech, Honey probably looked like a total psycho fangirl; even more so when she waved and swooned as she caught his eye.

Oh, Headmaster Ozpin... I wont let anything get in the way of our love! Not even our age difference can keep us apart, I wont let it! Honey thought in her head, eyes trailing him as he left the stage and vanished behind it. Her left hand came up to her chest as her right hand extended out in longing. For now, I will bide my time... but soon, love will take hold and then we'll become a-- Wait, calm down Honey, you're getting too excited. Breathe... turn... exit.

Sighing as she calmed down, Honey would start to hum softly to herself as she left along with the other students, not waiting around and wanting to get a good look at the school before nightfall. As she made her way towards the school's entrance, far away she noticed someone who looked familiar. An old woman with long golden hair that was laced with gray, was standing along with some others, looking around as if searching for someone. Honey casually walked over to them, not being able to get a good look at the woman's face until she was within a few meters. "Oh, Marigold! It's you. You're late, you know." she said, smiling as she stepped over to the head maid for the Lawson household. Figures that she was surrounded by a half dozen or so others who were moving carts with suitcases and small crates. She was supposed to be transporting Honey's things to Beacon. Looking at how much stuff there was, she frowned. "You guys didn't have to bring so much stuff... I only needed one suitcase, maybe two? And one crate of ammo would have been fine as I can get some from home when I need to." she said, a slight tone of annoyance in her voice. Things were always like this. Leave it to the maids to go overboard.

"For one Miss Lawson, we are on time, you just came early--"

"Just, Honey... please." she interrupted, which got her a glare. "Ah...sorry?"

"As I was saying Miss Honey, your parents instructed us to gather these for you, to make sure you have everything you need. They don't want you to break from your studies to make frequent trips to come back home."

"Is that what they told you to tell me, or are they just glad to be rid of me?" she asked, her tone now becoming sad as she looked away from the woman. There was a long silence, and her question wasn't answered. After a moment, she shrugged and smiled again, though it didn't reach her eyes. "Figures. Well, I appreciate all your hard work." she said, her happy tone already back. Her maid wasn't fooled by the facade, and she shook her head, reaching out and taking Honey's hands in her own. Honey gazed down at them, the soft and warm feel of them were unlike how her parents hands had felt. They were always callous and cold from spending long hours slaving over machinery. Another long moment passed and the other maids began moving again as if knowing the two needed some time alone.

The older woman took a while to speak, as if she was thinking of what to say. "Honey... I know how things must seem right now. Things are getting more and more complicated... they're busy people, you know--"

"It's not just right now, Marigold. This has... been going on for years. I always tried so hard to just... make them want me again. It's why I--"

"They want what's best for you."

"It's not the same!" she said, her voice raising only slightly as she tried to pull away from the woman, though her hands were held tightly. "Honey, please try to understand..." the maid said desperately. Tearing her gaze from the woman, Honey sighed and shook her head, her long braids swaying slightly and tapping against her thighs. "Where is my weapon?" she asked, looking at the few crates that were not yet moved. "Which crate is it?"

Slowly her hands would be released and Honey would take two very large steps away from the woman. Watching as Marigold looked through a few cases, stopping at a big one and pointing to it. "There." she said, her voice still carrying a bit of sadness. Honey walked over and took Seraphine out of the crate, swinging the familiar mace around before attaching it to her belt on the left side. Turning away from her maid, Honey rubbed her arms, as if a sudden chill had come over her. "Take care of yourself Marigold." she said waving at the woman once from over her shoulder. As she began to aimlessly walk the grounds of the school, she thought about her parents... about why they had never given her the time of day...

And she wondered why they ever bothered keeping a child they didn't want.

Ranulf Edom
Gardens of Beacon
Tagged;; Pax Ianthe

The stretching finished, Ranulf inhaled, closing his eyes for a moment, and feeling his Aura within his body. As he did so, a spike of crimson energy began to blast around his body, before fading away. Slowly exhaling from the quick Aura exercise, the crimson-haired teenager smirked to himself, cracking his neck to the side. That purple-haired child...or was it a teenager? Whatever, his name was Pax, and he had decided to sleep under a tree nearby. It wasn't a concern. Walking into the soft, comfortable grass of the garden's courtyard, Ranulf began to work through the basic movements of his self-created fighting style. Seemingly faced against an invisible opponent, the boy brought his fists up under his chin, in a guard reminiscent to that of televised boxers. In front of him, in his mind's eye, a man appeared. He was around the same height of Ranulf, with a grizzled face, and a dark gray afro and handle-bar mustache.

"Old man...time to get your ass whooped." Old Man Sensei had always said to imagine someone you wanted to beat, when training...so that's what he would do. He still couldn't beat the Old Man, but at least he could try. Jumping slightly on the toes of his feet, Ranulf darted forward through the grassy clearing, his right arm abruptly blurring through the air, slamming into the imagined mid-secction of the Old-Man. As the Old-Man easily blocked the punch, Ranulf swayed to the side, twisting on his heels and blurring three wind-quick, yet powerful jabs towards the man's unguarded face, before ducking down and blasting back up in a dynamic upper-cut. As it was barely blocked, the boy continued to press on in his powerful offense, never letting up. To outside viewers, it made for a pretty scary scene. With each punch Ranulf sent to his invisible enemy, the wind whistled from the force, and you could actually see the air warping around each thrown fist. The shadow-boxing's tempo increased until it was a maelstorm of weaving, swaying, and blurring, dynamite punches.

Honey and Turner

In collaboration with @Shadowcatcher

Turner sat on a bench near the statue he observed, spinning his weapon in its axe form around with his hands, his fingers intricately weaving over the handle. Right now, there was nothing to do but roam and he was kind of bored at the moment. He didn't really notice anything until he saw a spritely-looking girl with silver hair and a LOT of boxes. Well, social activity IS a thing people do. Turner turned his weapon back into its sword mode and sheathed it onto his back as he walked over to her. "Hi there." He said, introducing himself.

After catching up with her other maids and offering to carry some of the stuff they had brought her, Honey was trying to balance a few crates of powered dust in her arms as she walked. From the corner of her eye she saw someone approaching her and she glanced at the person, assuming they would just walk by, and so she said nothing. Then she noticed they--or he, had stopped and said hello. Huffing and adjusting her grip on some of the crates, she stopped walking and turned to him. "Hey there... uh, do you need something?" she asked, wondering why he had approached her. She glanced behind him to see her maids gradually getting farther away. Cursing in her head, she wanted to follow them, as she didn't know where to put her things, and apparently, they did. At the same time, Honey didn't want to be rude and leave the guy hanging, so with a smile, she stayed.

"Well, no not really." Turner began. This girl seemed all right so far, but it looked like she needed a hand with those boxes, wait, crates? Ah they were things anyhow. "Just seeing if you needed any help with those, that's all." He offered, he really didn't want to be wondering around aimlessly again so he might as well help someone.

Honey's pink eyes studied his face for a moment, and then her smile got bigger. "Aww how nice of you! Here." she said, stepping forward and giving him all the crates, taking only the top one after doing so. Stepping around him, she started walking after her maids. "Follow me." she would say before jogging away to catch up with her maids.

Turner held his arms out but didnt expect pretty much all of the crates she was carrying. Okay bar one, but still. "Hey! Wait up!" He said after chuckling a little. Guess training kind of starts now. Carrying large weights while running counted right? Turner jogged, a little slower than the girl because of the boxes, but he managed to catch up with her in the end. After slowing down to walk by her, he quickly propped the boxes up to a comfortable carrying position. "So, uhhh, I didn't get your name?" He asked.

As they both slowed to a walk, a pair of her maids came and took the crates from them, taking them into a large room. Turning to the guy who had helped her, she held out her hand. "Geez, where are my manners? My name's Honey Lawson."

Turner held her hand and shook it respectively. "Turner Miyahata, nice to meet you Honey." He said with a smile. After shaking her hand, he stuck his hands into the pockets of his jeans. "Soooo, what brings you to Beacon? Here to slay monsters and be a hero?" He asked, half-jokingly on the last part. "Yeah, something like that. she said, peeking her head in the room and waving goodbye to her maids. Afterwards, she started walking again, looking for Turner to follow her. "Though there's another reason I wanted to go to this academy... but that one is more..." she blushed as she thought of Ozpin. "Personal I guess." she finished, hardly able to hold back the giggle that nearly escaped.

Turner nodded up and down slowly, not really getting the last reason but, hmm, must be a girl thing. "Fair enough I suppose." Turner said as he walked up to follow Honey again. "Well, I guess my reasons are kind of similar, I guess." He began. "You know when you want to do something really cool with your life and it can help people too?" Turner asked, rhetorically. "Well, I guess you could say being a Hunter falls under that." Turner explained, deciding to be truthful about his reasoning.

"That's as good a reason as any I suppose. But honestly... I never worried about my reason. I just figured doing it was good enough." As they walked back outside, Honey saw a statue in the distance and her eyes widened. "Oooh cool!" she said excitedly, running over to it.

Turner shook his head as Honey began to run off again. Turner kind of saw here as a little kid with her personality, hyper-active. All. The. Time. Turner thought it was kind of cute in a way though and decided to walk over instead of running like her. "It is pretty cool isn't it?" He commented as he finally reached the statue he noticed earlier. Hopping up and down as she circled it, she was grinning like an idiot as she admired the thing. "It's totally awesome! I wonder who these people are... like, if they are the first Hunter and Huntress or something." she said, stopping her circles and standing at the front of it.

Turner shrugged his shoulders as he folded his arms. "Could be." He commented. Taking a closer look, the outfit and weapons did kind of seem from a time long ago, so maybe they were part of the very first Hunters and Huntresses. "Hmm. I guess we will never know." He said with another shrug. Honey nodded, shrugging also as she stepped closer, reaching her hand out and touching the smooth stone that made the arm of the Grimm below the two figures. She was silent for a long moment, but suddenly threw her hands up and squealed in excitement. "I wonder if I'll get to be a statue some day tooooo!" Looking over her shoulder at Turner, she smiled at him. "Wouldn't that just be the best. Thing... EVER!?" she asked him. Before he got a chance to say anything, Honey would continue talking.

"Oooh I wonder what pose I should make!" she said, bringing a hand up to her chin and stroking an imaginary beard. With her other hand she removed Seraphine from her belt and proceeded to make cool poses in front of the statue, occasionally asking for Turner's opinion, only to change the pose before he got a chance to utter a word.

Turner just stared in absolute bewilderment. This girl was either just possessed by a 6-year old or borderline mentally insane. Either way would be cool. "Me and you have very different priorities." He commented jokingly, chuckling at her cool poses and how rapidly they would change. "Isn't there a place we need to go for the night? We haven't been given rooms or anything yet." He asked, seeing whether or not she was actually paying attention, proving his theory of being possessed by a 6-year old.

"Meh, I wouldn't care where we slept, so long as its no place cold." she said, not ceasing in her poses. She seemingly had an unlimited amount of them. "Though, when I had a peek into that room before where my maids were, there seemed to be a lot of other suitcases in there. Maybe that's where the first years will be, until they get rooms for us-- Oooh, what about this one?" she asked. The pose was rather silly, as she was trying to balance Seraphine on a raised foot while her hands were crossed over her chest. "Too professional?"

Turner looked left and right really quickly to see if anyone was watching, then looked back at Honey with her pose. "Too professional? No. Going to be a famous pose seen and copied by all. Again, probably not." He said, trying not to sound like he was saying "Bwahaha, that's a really silly pose." Grabbing her weapon and strapping it back to her belt, Honey would sigh as she couldn't think of any good poses at the moment. "I'll come up with something another time." she said, stepping back over to Turner. She smiled at him then looked around them, wondering what to do now. "I wonder what everyone is doing..." she said in a curious tone. "What should we do?" she added, looking to him for an answer.

Turner looked up to the sky, it was beginning to get dark. "I think its' time we get to the place we sleep." He said to Honey, then looking back to her. "Where ever that is." Turner added. He looked around but saw no where in particular that could be the sleeping quarters. "Uhm, WHERE do you think that is?" He asked Honey, really hoping she hadn't ran off again.

"I dunno, but I'm hungry. Lets go find something to eat first before I munch on my own arm. Someone will probably tell us eventually if we get caught roaming around." she said, crossing her arms behind her back and skipping ahead of him.

Well then, guess she's got to go eat then. It was then when Turner's own stomach rumbled as he realized he hasn't eaten since he got off the blimp. Turner jogged after her. "Hey wait up! I need to eat too!" He called out to her.

Moss Arma

Moss walked out of the Beacon auditorium, cracking a small grin. He legitimately thought the first speech was somewhat funny, particularly the "time of peace" part. "Heh," he laughed quietly to himself. "I wonder if she ever saw the old town? It wasn't peaceful back there at all!" Grimm attacks were relatively common occurrences back where he lived, so peace was considered a fairly distant ideal for both Moss and the people that had lived there. But still, the lighthearted atmosphere of the school was incredibly comfortable. Energized by the air, Moss decided to explore the grounds, greeting just about everyone he came across.

Eventually making his way into the garden, Moss saw a red-haired student in the open, grassy courtyard suddenly get into a stance. Though a bit confused as to what he was going to do, Moss decided to keep his distance and see what happens. After he saw the first few swings in the air, Moss suddenly realized what the teen was doing. "Ah wait, this is..." Though he usually saw people shadowboxing back at home, this was the first time he'd seen those movements and speed. He kind of wanted to spar against him, not only because he wondered if he speed could match his speed, but because he wanted to see how good it would feel to be hit by one of those. Forgetting how riled up he was, Moss walked right up to his fellow student and asked, "Hi, could I try fighting with you?"

Snapping awake with face full of sweat, the light had dimmed and began to sheathe itself behind the tall building of the Academy. The air had begun to cool itself at the night, shifting his eyes again he noticed that the redhead was approached by another guy asking for something which Pax couldn't quite hear. Shrugging it off and with a lengthy yawn and long stretch, his bones ebbed and cracked. As he was doing this his stomach had began to rumble, and he remembered on his walk that a student mentioned that there would be food somewhere but he couldn't quite recall. Is it time to sleep, or eat. I forgot.

Finally getting up from his ass, he approached the dynamic duo, and with a 'heh' he says, "Yo Redhead and Greenhead, I think we have to go and eat or sleep or something, I don't know." with a shrug, he continues "I am gonna go look for a student who might know. You can follow and help if you ever so please." After his somewhat lengthy speech he had begun walking back inside the academy, not looking back as it didn't really bother him if they helped or not.

After a cumbersome journey, well according to Pax anyway, he had stumbled upon what looked to be a lesbian couple with one white headed girl who was slightly ahead and the other blue headed. Stopping both of them in their tracks, he did a slight mock bow "Beautiful girls, can you please lead me to where we'll eat or sleep?" he asked with a courteous voice "Apologies for breaking up your lovers coup, your longing tryst, your faithful- ah, sorry I digress. I will need assistance to finding the eating or sleeping quarters."

As the pint sized warrior examined the rest of the students leaving the auditorium, she saw a few particularly inteesting figures; a hyperactive girl with silver hair, and redheaded boy who appeared to be shadow boxing, and one purple haired youth who seemed to be taking advantage of the afternoon sun for a quick nap. suddenly, her bright eyes lock onto the dark haired young man whom she had nearly toppled during her escape from the confines of the crowd. something was oddly familiar about him, but she couldn't quite place it.

Approaching cautiously, Kanika stares at the subject of her interest, examining his build, posture, and equipment.
"Athletic build, predatory stance. Wetsuit and a rebreather. Why is he wearing it on land, though?"
The girl abandons all caution, walking up to him and examining the students visible features.
"Not Uli, too thin to be related to the turtle. Tyson, maybe? nah, wrong hair color"
staring intently at the mask, something clicks
"Zal? couldn't be, I'd never find one of his clan clear out here... Or would I?"
"Hey, wetsuit, you from Vacuo?"
Kanika loudly inquires, drawing some measure of attention from other students nearby.

Ranulf Edom
Hallways of Beacon
Tagged;; Pax, Turner, Honey, Moss

As he was still in the mentality of shadow-boxing his damnable sensei, an unknown figure entered his area of attack, asking something inaudible. Ranulf half-noticed the boy, and figuring that it was his brain throwing in another shadow-figure, he twisted on his feet, swaying to the side to weave Old Man's hook, while, at the same time, bending to the side and lashing out with a powerful, streamlined half-roundhouse that would have slammed boot-first into the boy's jaw...before he came to his senses, and saw that it was an...armless young man simply stasring at him with what Ranulf felt was a gleeful feeling. Slowly lowering his feet, Ranulf breathed out, allowing his Aura to dissipate within his body, from how it was constantly spiking due to his active and combat-ready mind. "Wha-" He began to ask the boy gruffly, annoyed at the interruption, until he noticed two things.

One, the sun was beginning to go down, and his stomach was beginning to heavily, heavily growl. And two, the purple haired boy from the ship...Pax Ianthe, if he could remember correctly, came over from his nap, saying something about eating and sleeping. The eating part took his attention instantly, and as another growl from his stomach began to make itself known, Ranulf shrugged, grunting once in agreement, before wiping a bead of sweat from his forehead. Picking up his tattered, dark crimson scarf, along with his abnormally heavy backpack, the boy roughly wrapped the scarf around his neck before twisting the backpack onto his broad shoulders. After a glance towards the green-haired guy whom he subconsciously named 'Moss Head', Ranulf stared for a second, mentally wondering what the kid wanted, before turning around and following after Ianthe, hands in his pockets. As he walked, he spoke up, his deep, rather rough tone holding an ounce of wryness. "You can ask me whatever you asked me before, whenever we eat. I get pissed when I'm hungry." He's usually pissed a lot more than that, but that didn't matter right now. With that, he continued after Ianthe.

When they approached the two 'lesbians', whom he noted to be, in fact, one female and one feminine-looking male, Ranulf merely crossed his arms over his chest, watching with focused, dark orange eyes. His stomach growled once more, and other than a tint of red dusting his cheeks - which was immediately dissipated - he didn't acknowledge his hunger. However, the low, almost silent tapping of his finger against bicep betrayed his subtle impatience.

Tyrian "Iris" Irisia

Beacon thus far has been a feast to Iris’s teal colored eyes. The place, as expected was beautiful as in person as the pictures. She didn’t have a hard time finding the auditorium especially since she did her research, like she always does. It was crowded and full of familiar faces, and a few one’s that she made sure to avoid, those people were a thing of the past. Losing herself in the sea of people was easy, her short stature always helped with blending in.

Once Glynda Goodwitch stood in front of the crowd the people automatically stood in line. It was like she commanded attention. Iris admired her as an aspiring Huntress, and as a woman seeking power. It was envious. Her speech was short and concise, but effective, and the following was the same. She expected as much from the two adults. She did her research Professor Ozpin was considered to be wise beyond what other see, and one should simply accept that he saw far beyond the scope of normal people, in essence a wizard if not downright odd. She had her doubts about him since Iris did not know anything about him outside of what other people say, but she had a good feeling.

Iris waited for everyone to get out of the hall. There was no need to rush out of there as they were going to stay in the hall that night anyway. She had nothing important to do until tomorrow, her luggage was already tucked away in a locker designated to the students. A few students had the same idea, stay in the hall and wait until further notice, she figured she’s use this time to gather information. She only needed to pretend dumb, and cute to get the boys talking, but of course, they knew nothing. They told her information that she had already found out by herself, research always paid off.

With nothing to do Iris decided to wander around Beacon. If nothing else she was starting to get hungry, she’ll grab food along the way, she’ll take the long way around to the Dining Halls. The gardens, as expected were beautiful. They were filled with students in uniforms, returning students no doubt, and of course the new students. Hmm too early to call them students, who knows who will actually be good enough to be a student here. Then another thought occurred to her. There was a chance some of these people were going to be her teammates. She paused and looked around most were okay, nervous and anxious which was normal. A small group stood out though. They were loud. The words immediately escaped her mouth “Loud and annoying idiots somehow I knew they were gonna be here”

She had to abruptly stop in her skipping in order to keep from trampling over the boy who came to stand directly in her skipping path. Pouting as she had to stop, Honey turned and looked behind her to see Turner managing to catch up. Placing a hand on her hip, she looked back towards the purple haired guy that stopped them. Raising her brow and wondering what it was he wanted.

"Beautiful girls, can you please lead me to where we'll eat or sleep?" he asked with a courteous voice "Apologies for breaking up your lovers coup, your longing tryst, your faithful- ah, sorry I digress. I will need assistance to finding the eating or sleeping quarters."
Purple Haired Guy

A smile on Honey's face formed as listened to what he had said. Beautiful girls? As in plural. As in he totally thought Turner was a girl. A light laugh escaped her before she turned to Turner. "I'm sorry, that's not funny." Glancing to the side as a guy with red hair approached them, likely accompanying the other one, she spoke again. "Well ah, you're very... polite." she said, feeling happy at the compliment of being beautiful. "Not sure how you came up with the idea of us being lovers, but that's not important. We were actually on our way to find something to eat too." She was momentarily distracted as she noticed a bit of her hair was starting to fly loose from her braid, pouting, for a moment, she just ignored it. "As for the sleeping quarters, I think we'll be staying as a whole in some big room. I saw one filled with suitcases and stuff a while ago. I'll probably head there when its time to sleep." She paused after a moment and looked at the two boys. Oh! I always forget to introduce myself. I'm Honey Lawson. Who're you guys?" she asked to the both of them. Though she wanted to let the boys answer, Honey couldn't stay still for very much longer, and figured everyone could walk and talk at the same time. Stepping around the purple haired boy, she started to walk off, back towards the main entrance of the school, looking over her shoulder and gesturing for the others to follow her if they wanted.

NORSUN and KANIKA

Nor sighed, unable to make heads or tails of the place, the students seeming to have shotgunned across the academy, many seeming ready and eager to mingle with their hitherto unknown classmates. He felt a rather odd sensation, as though someone were watching him, a familiar effect, and swirled his head around to find the source of discomfort. His eyes narrowed as he saw no one seemingly paying to much attention, before a voice from below alerted him to his new observer.

Nor looked down...and then further down, spotting the rather diminutive blur that seemed to have taken an interest in him for the moment, cocking an eyebrow as he wondered if someone had brought their little sister to see them off. He'd have brought Jacqueline along if he'd known he could. "Can't say I've ever had the chance to get to Vacuo, Rainbow Brite," he said as he stepped back, voice sounding rather odd as it reverberated in the mask. He began looking around to find who she might belong to, "though I hear the fishing's not to bad."

He sighed as his stomach let loose a rumble, reminding him of the hardly appetizing snacks the airship ride had offered. He'd rather be trying to find the cafeteria than dealing with someone's wayward sibling, but his conscious wouldn't let him just leave her here, massaging his temple as he resigned himself to his fate, "You have someone looking for ya, like a sister or something around here," he asked, continuing his hunt to find someone to unload her on

The brightly colored student grins mischeviously
"I got seperated from my big brother,
she says innocently,
"A bit taller than you, really wide shoulders."
The girl adds, describing one of her friends from Vacuo, an expression of false concern on her face. Suddenly, she shifts to Nor's sright, jumping up and setting one elbow on his shoulder, somehow bracing herself against the boys side to mimic leaning against him.
"Just fucking with ya, I'm actually a student. No offense, though, happens a lot.
she chuckles slightly, still balanced against his shoulder
"The fishing is great, especially on the eastern coast."
Kanika drops down from his shoulder, once again stepping on front of him, a besumed grin upon her face.
"My dad takes me out on a boat sometimes, and one of my friends is a pearl diver, so I've also done some spear fishing."
still staring intently at his mask, she continues
"Speaking of friends, you're not related to a kid by the name of Zal Mano, are you? white hair, white skin, blood red eyes?
something clicks in her mind
"You wouldn't happen to be a faunus, would you?"
The bright haired student whispers intrusively, cocking one eyebrow as his stomach growls
"My name's Kanika, by the way. If you're hungry, then we can walk and talk. I think we were supposed to meet in the ballroom for some sort of fancy dinner before bed."

Nor dusted off his shoulder once she got down and gave her an exasperated look, although it lost its impact somewhat as only his eyes could be seen. He shook his head at the rapid fire of questions, Kanika seeming to barely breathe before the next, much less wait for a response. He unconsciously picked at the edges of mask as he processed her questions answering the last one first as he walked off, "Name's Nor, can't say I've heard of a Zal," he continued, pausing to think for a moment before going on, " Though the name Mano sounds familiar, I think I heard one of my uncles mentioning the name, " he finally finished .

He stayed quiet for a few moments before speaking again, "As for the faunus bit, I should think it's rather apparent, unless you were looking for a tail back there or some such, tell me was it the ears or the awesome tan that gave it away," he said somewhat sarcastically, turning his head back just enough to stare at her with one eye. "That's not gonna be a problem is it?"

Turner kept jogging after Honey, she moves fast and then some until she abruptly came to a halt, making him skid to slow down and stop too. Then he leant over to see who exactly was in front of Honey, turning out to be a purple haired student. Asking them about where the food was and he swore he said they were together and something else... Well, fortunately, Honey corrected them and introduced herself, then skipping off again. "Hi there, I'm Turne-" Turner paused for a moment. What the purple hair dude said finally calculated in his head. "Wait do you think I'm a chick?" He asked, raising an eyebrow. Oh. My. God. Turner swore he was going to get a haircut if this was true.

Moss stood calmly as the wind from the full, powerful kick rustled Moss's hair as the boot suddenly stopped just an inch from his face. Though impressed by how precise and fast the movements were, the close shave set off fantasies in his head. Moss calmed his breath, which was speeding up from his daydreams, and couldn't help but break into a somewhat lewd smile. Heated up by the view of that beautiful kick heading towards him, he quietly whispered to himself, "A~ah, I really want to get nailed by him at least once..." Suddenly realizing how inappropriate that sounded, he blushed profusely and cleared his mind of those thoughts. "Not like that!" he thought to himself, not seeming to notice that wanting to be punched multiple times was the weirder part of what he said.

Moss let out a confused "Eh?" as he looked around, trying to figure out where the other two had suddenly gone to. Had they left while he was out of it? He racked his brains to try and figure out where the others had gone, but abandoned his thoughts when his stomach growled. "Oh, right. It's about time to eat!" Having no idea where the students went to eat, he figured that someone would redirect him if he ran around long enough. As Moss began to run off to nowhere in particular, he realized that he'd forgotten to ask the fire-haired guy for his name because of how excited he was. Ah well. He'd ask for it whenever they met again.

As he jogged around campus, Moss heard something about "loud, annoying idiots". Usually called that by people who knew him, Moss instinctively looked towards the source: a short, purple haired girl. Thinking that it was the other person, he immediately ran up to her and said, "Hi, again!" Realizing that it was not at all, in fact, the guy from before--the clothes were completely different--he immediately shifted gears. "Oh wait, nevermind! You looked like someone I saw before. My name's Moss. What's yours?"

Tyrian "Iris" Irisia

@Sagittarius Iris didn’t want to associate herself with those people. Before she could be spotted and dragged into something, she decided to leave the small group alone, making sure to avoid further eye contact with any other groups of people. Instead, she focused her eyes onto the beautiful scenery. Beacon was an old school, renovations have been made over time to incorporate the constantly advancing technology, but somehow they still retain the Gothic appearance.

From behind her she could hear the sound of footsteps jogging towards him, they were light, but somehow metallic. It was odd, he was kind of odd too. Before she could say something Iris watched him intently with her teal colored eyes. and looked him over with a blank face. He had a pale yellow green hair it reminded him green apples. He was very young looking, but somehow tired. Obviously he was lost and some of his friends either left him or he doesn't have friends, she reminded him of her when she was younger.

Poor guy. He's kind of sad looking she thought. For some reason he reminded him of a puppy. Not wanting to have a kick the dog moment she decided to be nice, well polite enough. "Hello Moss. It's not much a bother really. It could have happened to anyone, in this case it just happened to you. Make sure to pay attention better next time." She made sure not to give out her name. Innocent as he looked she did not want to have him following her around. "Anyway, I'll be going now. Have a nice day." She smiled, forced, and fake, but genuine looking enough.

NORSUN andKANIKA

Kanika begins walking behind Nor.
"The teeth, actually. my friend Zal has them, He tried the mask thing once himself, which sort of tipped me off."

Nor's eyes narrowed at her comment, making conscious effort to keep his hand from checking his mask, although it was becoming increasingly obvious this wasn't Kanika's first time meeting a Faunus.

The bright haired youth said, following the grumpy teen towards the ballroom.
"You remind me of him in other ways, too, he's a bit of a grump like you are. Oh, and a lot of my friends are Faunus, so it's no big deal."
She chatters on, going off into a tangent about her friends from Vacuo.
"Then there was this one time Uli said he saw some sort of huge Grimm under the village, turned out it was just a really creepy rock."
the student says, "Anyways, when do you think we get to start fighting?" she asks as they pass a mural of a huntsman fighting a King Taijitu.

Nor simply nodded along as they walked, a rumbling sigh issuing at the grumpy comment, but let it go, happy to stay silent. It was clear she didn't expect him to answer at this point, seeming to talk to herself more than anything else. That was fine, he'd never been the chatty sort and he figured her...bombastic attitude might dissuade others from approaching, leaving him to his thoughts

"Ooh, haven't seen one of those before."
she whispers, eying the illustration of the snake grimm.
"Kind of looks like the Kuna we get in the water near the village my friends live in."
the girl adds, examining the beasts fangs within the illustration.
"Teeth aren't quite as nasty, though. Those bastards got fangs the size of, well, me."
Kanika concludes, tracing the serpent on the tapestry with one finger before continuing on.
"So, not from Vacuo. Vale, then?"

Nor had walked a few feet before he even realized his little technicolored trail on a tangent bound tirade had finally stopped talking, apparently finally wanting his input in what had so far been a monolouge, taking a moment to catalogue her questions before turning around to face her as fired off answers in rapid fire, ticking each question of on a finger, " I'm not grumpy, I'm thinking. I don't know when we fight, though common sense says it's not gonna be tonight as its to late," he paused here, giving her a wary look, "unless someone tries to start one."

The mention of marine Grimm peaked his interest, happy to have acommon topic, "Haven't seen a Kuna in a while, they prefer the more tropical waters so they don't show up much here, but I swear there's a Leviathan, judging by the holes in a few of the ships we've checked," he told, surprised she had gotten him off on a tangent, "and I've been in Vale for as long as I can remember, up on the North docks."

He chuckled, "I think that covers everything, but as a bonus, I'm also a Ares and like late night dives in case your wondering," he finished, a teasing tone evident in the last comment, turning his head as noise behind him caught his attention. He could hear the sounds of socializing from the Ballroom as they approached, looking over his shoulder to see it quickly approaching.

"Not likely a leviathan, those things used to capsize atlesian carriers, if there was one around here a harbor team would have been dispatched to deal with it. Might be an overgrown lamprey, they're known for going through armor plating to get to people.
she explains, locking her aqua eyes with the masked boys frosty blue.

Nor glared at her as she tried to correct his evaluation, " I know a lamprey bite when I see one, but I some how doubt a lamprey of any size is chewing up a quarter of the port side on a level 3 Dust transporter,"he said in a tone of voice one uses when there restraining themselves, "especially not for the money the Schnee spend on the damn things." Just the thought of dealing with that company left a slimy feeling, but the money that came from recovering a shipment dust was too good,to pass, no matter what company claimed it. Although there'd been a rather unfortunate loss of a cargo container, which funnily enough coincided with a drop in dusts costs the clan had.

"True enough, at least around this region. Zal told me something about their migration once, he said lampreys prefer the western sea to the east because of all the old pre-war wrecks. he's seen that kind of damage done by lamprey's, showed me a picture once."
the girls responds, determination in her eyes
"Course if it was a leviathan, you'd know it by the scraping, not just holes in the hull. they like to get handsy with their prey, even the little ones."

Nor gained a smug look in his eye as he heard her reply, "True enough, but I think we got lucky this time," he said before pausing, seeming to rethink his words,"well as lucky as catching one in a feeding frenzy can be considered, but we think it's in the early stages, still trying to eat through its larval stages," his tone seem to shift into a more relaxed feel, "We only took the haul a few weeks ago, so we're trying to find out if it's still in the area before we send a report in, though I think dad was working on that when I left."

If it's in a frenzy, you've got about 3 months until it migrates to open waters. are there any boneyards in this region? because that's whre it'll be headed."
the girl finishes. sudenly, a powerful rumbling emits from her stomach
"Right, dinner. food is good."
With that, she rapidly departs for the ballroom, forgetting to check if Nor iss still in her wake.

He followed after, nodding thoughtfully to himself as he trailed behind. He was sure his Clan had already thought to check, but wouldn't hurt to pass the idea along. But that could wait, he could feel hunger starting to call
