yeah- level of mutation/whatever is up to you. they would not themselves be an Immortal though, one of Dagon's five chief lieutenants. They'd likely be a Perfecti, even if a quite powerful one.

You're also, of course, welcome to RP as one of the Immortals as well.

I plan on making a disgusting faction that won't help much. Perhaps a mafia.


Ha. Awesome. Varyon would be a good place for a mafia, or some other nation that's been conquered.

As to religion, would you prefer the order follows a pantheon of gods, or did you have something specific in mind in-regards to religion? I assume there was one before Dagon, and that's likely what the order would believe in.

Edit: They might not even have a religion, acting more like the Knights of Solamnia (Dragonlance) who followed a strict oath and measure encouraging honor and typical knightly stuff. Which i do like the sound of.

Their religion/philosophy is completely up to you, and feel free to make up a transnational world religion that was common in Aldebaran pre-Dagon. I just would rather not have pseudo-Christian crusaders, is all. All other details are totally your call, feel flesh out the world as you see fit!

I don't think you need to go that far to explain her not being mutated, but if you want your character to be the daughter of an Immortal and some powerful earth spirit, that's fine. I'd rather we leave the exact nature of said earth spirit somewhat vague and avoid the name Gaia, since obviously that's a mythical divinity in the real world.

Yea. Gaia's spawn usually are a bit overpowered. Thor kills a snake large enough to wrap itself around the world. I could make it more of a Pagan God, than any RL Parallel like Gaia. The Pagans have thousands of gods, mostly un-named and simply just, existing. Is there any sort of Paganism? Like the pseudo-Christinity?

My other post was unclear. what I meant to say is that I'd like to avoid real-world mythological divinities, just like I asked Lone Wanderer not to use a pseudo-Christianity type religion. Feel free to make up religions, demons, gods, spirits, that are worshiped across Geryon.

Heroes of the Grim Reaches


A mercenary band, led by Bjorn the Tall, that journeys from Kingdom to Kingdom to engage Dagon IV's minions. Often, they travel to the areas that need help the most, but that are beyond the reach of conventional means. They are known as the Heroes of the Grim Reaches, as they are based on the ever moving frontiers of Dagon IV's Empire. It is said that they work closely with the Scarred King, although this is something their leader will often deny, even to himself.


Name: Bjorn the Tall, of [player-state]. Sometimes simply referred to as, "The Barbarian".

Nationality: [player-state] - Preferably one that is resisting, or succumbing.

Occupation: Veteran warrior, former [player-state] captain.

Religion: The Gods are a lie, they are of no use to us in these dark times!

Appearance: Bjorn the Tall is named as such, because of his gigantic stature. Standing easily at seven and a half feet tall, he is considered a mountain among men and a freak of nature in equal measure. His muscular torso almost resembles an upside down triangle, and gives support to two tree-log thick arms. His flesh is pale, and bears not only several scars, but also blue body paints depicting various "Celtic" symbols.

His hair is kept shaven, with the exception of jet-black pony tail that hangs as low as his waist from the rear of his head. It is bound in position by several decorative silver bands.

Bjorn's face gives the impression of once being handsome, but is now marred and ruined by what appears to be a lifetime of brawling. His nose is crooked, and almost zigzags down his nose. His left eye appears smaller than his right, owing to a fractured cheek bone sustained some years ago. His teeth are all mostly silver, with the originals long lost to a life lived in violence.

Bjorn wears little armour, preferring the flexibility of leather leggings and the refreshing wind on his bare chest.

Personality: Bjorn is slow of wit, but strong of heart. He has little patience for philosophy or deep debate, and prefers actions over words. He is brave beyond measure, but is also overconfident. He's empathetic to the suffering of the countless masses, and sees it as his purpose in life to save them or to die a glorious death in trying.

Biography: Bjorn was born to two human parents, both of whom were around five and a half feet tall. Imagine their surprise then, and indeed, his mother's horror during labour, when this hulking giant came storming into the world.

A large child, Bjorn had to be separated from his younger peers to prevent any accidental injuries (or deaths) that may have occurred from him getting too over excited in a game of "tag". This put a few funny ideas in Bjorn's head as he grew up, always being separated, always told to mind his strength. He realised he was different, he was bigger, stronger than everyone else. They all feared him, and it felt good.

Following his father into the blacksmithing trade did not dull the giant's lust to embrace an inner calling to put his superior strength and stature to the test. He promptly abandoned the family business, and threw his lot in with a local Lord's men-at-arms.

Not surprisingly, Bjorn soared through the ranks, having proved himself a terrifying adversary but a loyal soldier. It wasn't long before he was appointed the rank of Captain, and took charge of his very own regiment, known as the Battle Boar Berserkers. He filled his ranks with blood-crazed individuals, who cared little for a volley of arrows, but who cared much for being the first to collide with the enemy.

Dagon IV's invasion of [Player State] saw Bjorn's regiment enter several engagements with the legions of Aldebaran. Each time, Bjorn and his men retreated with the rest of the kingdom's army, even though the Battle Boars had left a carpet of dead in their wake. Each time, Bjorn lost more battle brothers, and eventually, both his regiment and the army at large were exhausted.

Refusing to give up the fight, and feeling that Dagon IV's unholy crusade was a blight on the world, Bjorn took to the wilderness to raise his own band of mercenaries that would fight the menace from the shadows. It was at this time that he was tracked down by the Scarred King, who provided Bjorn with both the Blade of Liberty, a silver Great Sword, and the funds he needed to wage his guerilla war.

Equipment: Blade of Liverty - Silver Great Sword (enchanted, but not known), gifted to him by The Scarred King.

Skills: Skilled sword fighter, famed commander, brute strength.

Motivation: Wants to see Dagon IV destroyed, but is driven to this more by ideals of glory than the moral implications.

Name: Anya Sorrowsong

Nationality: [player-state] - Preferably one that has succumbed.

Occupation: Ranger, former slave tracker.

Religion: The Gods are a lie, they are of no use to us in these dark times!

Appearance: Anya is tall for a human woman, coming in at six feet. Her build is athletic, but her toned arms and wrists tell of someone who is used to pulling bow-strings.

Her brown, shoulder-length hair almost fully covers a strong, frowning face. Dead amber eyes, set delicately within their sockets, have a way of tearing through an individual's confidence. Scar tissue reaching from just under her left eye, running towards the tip of the nose and ending above her right eye gives one the impression that at some point she was on the receiving end of a near-fatal blow.

Usually, Anya wears her ranger garb; a motley collection of blacks, browns and greens. A heavy hood protects her from the rain, and a yellow bandanna obscures the lower half of her face.

Personality: Anya comes across as somewhat emotionless, and very cold. However, if one would pay attention to her body language, and her word usage, sometimes she'll betray a seething guilt and a raging sorrow buried deep behind her otherwise unfeeling exterior.

Typically she is very patient, preferring caution over reckless violence.

She dislikes the sight of children, of any gender or race.

Biography: Anya is thirty three years old, and for thirty years of her life, she was raised and then recruited as a Slaver Tracker in [player-state]. Her life was one of horror, though not for her, but for those slaves who sought to escape Dagon's clutches, and whom she was required to track down and kill.

Easily the best Slave Tracker of her generation, Anya's skills were relocated around Dagon's expanding Empire, time and time again, to help train new Slave Trackers and to deal with existing problems. Her notoriety grew, as did her power and wealth.

She lived as a sort of celebrity in Dagon's ranks, and ended up upsetting several of the Emperor's minions who felt that a mortal woman's place in the world belonged on the sacrificial alter.

And so, one night after returning from tracking a herd of escaped slaves, she was ambushed by several masked assassins. She fought well, but was ultimately over powered and imprisoned. Her assassins reported her as dead, killed by the very slaves she sought to kill, but in secret, she was tortured into near insanity.

One result of this torture, was the birth of her child whose father was indeed one of the many torture masters. The labour almost killed her already weakened body, but as she finally squeezed the infant into the world, one of her tormentors instantly crushed it with a hammer. The whole experience was a horror that Anya will never overcome in her living days.

This misery lasted another year, until Bjorn the Tall mounted a raid on the building - which was in fact, the Castle of Brackmere - with his mercenary band. The barbarian warrior, who stormed into the torture chamber and dismembered the torturers with his huge gleaming Great Sword, freed all of the castle's prisoners.

Several joined the barbarian, and took up arms to assist him in bringing Brackmere to ruin. Anya however, was broken of both mind and body, and was found by Bjorn laying in some soiled rags. He picked her up, and despite her weak protests, hurried her away to safety.

It took many weeks and Bjorn's best battlefield physicians to nurse Anya back to some form of health, but she remained somewhat unthankful, and forever distant. Nevertheless, she became possessed with an insatiable blood-lust for the lives of Dagon's legionnaires and his puppets. She would vanish from Bjorn's camp for several days, only to return with an empty quiver and a belt full of scalps.

Bjorn was impressed by Anya's mysterious combat prowess - uncommon for a woman - and recruited her into his ranks permanently.

She has fought by his side ever since, although her Slave Tracking past remains hidden from him and the rest of the group.

Equipment: Yew Longbow, Steel-Tipped arrows, Bloodfang Venom, Steel Short Sword.

Skills: Marksman, can move almost unseen in forest environments, can track man and beast.

Motivation: Will stop at nothing to destroy Dagan's Empire, and to repent for the sins of her past life.

I'll probably make some inconsistancies here, considering I am making a girl so close to Lore. But, I hope you like it anyway.

Name: Jane Thornthree (discarded her father's sername in exchange for her current one)

Nationality: Aldebaran

Occupation: Resistance Fighter.

Religion: Cult of Dagon (former). Death (Current)

Appearance: Jane is of an considerable height and fairly stocky build, appearing strong without overly muscular or unattractive. She is most commonly picked out of a crowd by her green, shoulder length hair and hetrochromia eyes, one silver and the other a deep blood red - that eye she covers with her hair, most of the time. That, and her large breasts, make it hard to blend in with the crowd, so she is rarely, if ever, on covert missions.

Being the daughter of an Immortal, she does have physical mutations beyond the wild colouring of her hair and eyes, albiet rather slim and not too difficult to hide. Her teeth have all grown into curved fangs, and her nails are more akin to talons when she lets them grow out instead of cutting them. However, aside from this, and when in a proper silk dress rather than the battle-ready clothing she usually wears, Jane is a very pretty girl, and has little problem wooing the menfolk, as long as she doesn't smile too widely.

Personality: Jane posesses a strong set of morals, born from the lessons of her childhood, even if those lessons caused the opersite effect than where intended. She has no problem killing whoever threatens her appears affiliated with the Cult of Dagon, and is barely phased by the most grotesque abomination that she has to fight. However, an innocent life is held in extremely high regard with her, and she will do anything to protect it, which can lead her into situations of great trouble, but these do not dampen her spirit in the slightest.

Her greatest goal drives her, and fuels her when all else has gone. Even if her very will to live left her, she would still drive forward for the single-minded perpose. It is this indomitrable emotion that allows Jane her strength to push forward, against all physical and mental injuries, but it also makes her rather cold. Jane does not make friends easily, and only if she thinks someone could help her in her crusade. Attachments are forged slowly, and kept weak, even if they do co-inside with the driving force at her core.

When she actually gets down to talking, Jane keeps her lips closed, and moves them the bare minimal needed to enunciate her words properly. This helps her avoid revealing her teeth, and makes sure people are slightly less disposed to try stab her in the head as soon as she appears. Furthermore, she is in no way above using her female beauty, and even the exotic looks she possesses, to twist males and sometimes even females to her desires. These people are usually ones that are not exactly innocent, but to much effort to turn into a proper threat.

Biography: Jane was born when one of Dagon IV's Immortals taking fancy to a woman he met. Or, just stealing her and impregnating her with the seed. Either way, she was born, with one eye a deep red, and the other a green, akin to the trees of the Deep Forests. She lacked any notable physical mutations, because her mother was not simply a woman, and was rather a Nature Godess who had taken physical form, and passed on part of her powers to the baby. Unbeknown, Jane's Father thought that the girl would grow them as she got older, and so decided to raise her. However, he could not spend the time needed to raise a baby, and decded he needed to find someone to look after her. The very next day, a man appeared with the perfect abilities required to look after a little child. It strained credulity to believe that him - for most midwives and nannies where women - being here was just coincidence, but looking a gift horse in the mouth was for fools. The man introduced himself as 'Sean Kabal' and over the next few years, demonstrated an eerie comfort with this meta-human baby.

As Jane grew to become coherent of her surroundings, she was taught in the ways of war - mostly by Sean, who seemed to possess an ever growing list of proficiences as the situation demanded - and those of the Cult of Dagon, indoctrined young in a hope of total obidience to the cause, while the training would make her the ultimate soldier. However, while Jane took the the fighting with gusto and flaunted her titanic strength, she seemed less interested in the Cult of Dagon, and more interested in making a lovely little flower bed where she spent most of the time she was meant to be learning. These beautiful, vibrant colours undermined the ominous atmosphere of the rest of the area, but the Immortal persisted, feeling she would be a perfect addition to their ranks when she was properly trained.

Years passed, and aside from the fact that Jane grew talons - which she kept clipped - and fangs in place of teeth, there was no sight of Mutation, which made her father less and less thrilled with the inital idea of keeping her around, espeically when she was slow to pick up Dagon's teachings. All the while, her 'nanny' taught secret lessons about being a respectable woman with dignity and honor. These led her to save an innocent slave when he was being beaten to death for no reason she could see. That stunt got her in trouble, and when it came to her father's knowledge, she was locked inside her room and was not allowed out, nor was anyone allowed in. Two guards where stationed at the door to ensure this, while her father and the rest of the Immortals began to persue a different path of thought. She was prime stock for sacrificing, so maybe that would be a much better usage of this stubborn woman than any attempt to 'educate' her.

Jane, however, sulked in her room. Thinking nothing more of it than being in trouble, she was shocked to see Sean sitting on her bed when she turned around from pacing the room. He told her what her father was planning, and even though she tried to deny it, her eyes spoke a different tale. She had seen what he was capable of, and doubted the bond meant anything to him. Sean then pitched the idea of escape, which Jane reluctantly agreed to, but saw no way out. There was only one door, and it was guarded. Going out that way would bring more people running, and breaking their way out would not be viable. Fortunately, as always, Sean had a solution. He walked over to a nearby bookcase and, claiming that all these places had secret passageways, pulled the third book on the top shelf, causing the bookshelf itself to sink into the ground, revealing a tunnel.

Jane knew that book did no such thing, since it was her favoirate romance/action and had taken it from the shelf to read many times. But, ignoring such inconsistances became the norm rather quickly if one wanted to keep their sanity around Sean, so she thanked him and moved to leave. However, she was given something he referred to as 'The Leaf' before leaving, and told that once outside, she would know what to do with it. Jane took The Leaf - which was an actual leaf - and followed the passageway until it let out into a forest, dense and with little light. She knew it was far from where she started, since Jane was quite the explorer and never found a forest like this. She felt strange, standing in the forest, but also more powerful than she had ever felt. But, she was caught off guard when The Leaf suddenly wrapped itself around her entire body in a very tight, black matieral, and refused to come off. It was so hard to breathe in it, and so after some frantic stripping and clawing at her clothes, Jane passed out from the lack of oxygen, still clad in The Leaf.

Several hours later, she woke to find that it had changed into a set of trousers, and a shirt, which must have been the reason why she managed to wake up. The forest had changed around her while she was unconcious, and in the distance a strange stone was visible. Jane hated the whole lack of control, but put that to one side and decided to deal with her clothing later. She moved towards the stone, and saw that a sword was jutting out of the top. Curioisty overwhelmed her, and she yanked it from it's resting place, holding it up to what light there was. The sword's body was pristine, but she remained slightly wary of it's ability in the battlefield. The Leaf, however, spawned a scabbard to put it in, and so Jane slid it in and spent the next few hours glaring at her clothing, and occasionally making it change form - one form caught her off guard, and made her feel peculiar, so she decided to be more careful after that - until finally she got it down. With that, she set off to find a way out of the forest. All the things she had repressed, or simply refused to see came back to her, and with every step, she gained clarity into her mission. What felt like the very reason she was born. She needed to kill Dagon, and all those who served him, to free this land from the grip of them. This included her father, not that that was much of a problem. But, first, before all that could happen, she really needed to get out of the forest and find out where she was.

Equipment:
Graph Eizen: Graph Eizen is Jane's Longsword, and her staple weapon against most of her enemies. She found it in a rock, while lost among one of the forests of Geryon. Initally skeptical of a random sword in a random stone, she took it anyway because it was the only thing that could protect her, and she needed something with a sharp edge. The first time she encountered those who would do her harm, her skeptisism was drowned in their blood, as it hacked though flesh and bone with a fine edge, in a way that Jane thought was more the blade's doing than her own. Since then, Jane has taken it into many battles, except where there are enemies requiring....more.

Terra Firma: This giant hunk of iron in the shape of a sword is Jane's Anti-Abomination Weapon. She got it from a blacksmith that lived on a large mountian, who made the weapon as proof of his abilities, in a wager to see who could make the weapon mostly likely to kill a theoretical Dragon. As tall as an avarage man, and equally as wide, few can stand up to the awesome power brought to bear by this monstrosity, with it's great weight doing as much to bisect things as the cutting edge. Jane can only use this weapon thanks to her heritage, and even then the effectiveness is questionable, which is the main reason she only uses it on large, slow creatures that would not be able to dodge effectively.

The Leaf: Thought to be a leaf from the Greatest Tree To Ever Exist - hence the name - The Leaf can, in Jane's posession, change it's form from clothing to armour at the woman's request. There are few clothes it can not turn into, from skin-tight bodysuit that shines in the sun, to a glamorious silk dress and even - Jane's most preferred form - a set of armour. Each change takes several seconds to be finished, and it can sometimes overlap things that are already present, which is why Jane prefers to not utalize the changing, and be stripped off all but The Leaf when she does.

Skills: Being the Daughter of an Immortal and a Earth Goddess, Jane's abilities are phenomenal. Her physical prowess is many times above the best of humans, and her physical endurance allows her to operate at her peak for nearly an entire day before becoming exhausted. Jane's body is also stronger than the avarage human, but by a lesser degree, and can still be hurt by standarad means. But, she has an accelerated healing that is only enhanced when in contact with nature. This allows her to recover from anything that is not an immidiately fatal blow within seconds, at the cost of physical exertion. Jane's internal system is also extremely sturdy, allowing her to flush out the most potent posions within minutes, and preventing a great host of illnesses.

On top of her natural skills, there is also the skills she has developped over her life-time, she has become very skilled at swordsmanship and can hold her own against multiple targets, and even tear through an entire host of human enemies, or a lesser number of the supernatural adveseries. Her final skill, one that she keeps a secret to everyone, is the ability to surpress the progression of time at the cost of erroding her Soul into nothing. Once activated, this technique can not be stopped by Jane, and will kill her. To this end, she is saving it for a very special situation.

Motivation: To kill Dagon IV, and his Immortals. Most importantly, her father. And also find out who the bloody hell Sean was.
