[OOC] War of the Multiverse

Welcome everyone, to War of the Multiverse. Now, the big question is how to start off this RPG. Anyone have any ideas?

Yeah, that's sort of what I had in mind. Basically people are in a starting village where they confront both the kinds of enemies they face and what's happening with the conflict.

O_O That's literally what I was thinking of. Well, not exactly Traverse Town.

Boring World Building Info

Some worlds may have been destroyed during the Incubator Wars and there are some factions dedicated to creating artificial worlds to act as refugee camps/temporary towns while they focus on either fixing those worlds or if they can't, build around the world some more to make it a new home.

The town the game's starting in is one of those worlds that ended up being the latter, a world stuck in perpetual wild western.

Well why not Earth? As in the earth where all these characters are supposed to be fictitious/non-existant? It could be our characters arrive through various means in around about the same area as The Incubators when they start harvesting peoples souls.
Although at that point I doubt our characters would be strong enough to fend them off for long so they'd have to retreat with the Incubators hot on their tail. Then we get to the whole bit of them being safe and asking questions about what happened, who each of them are, what to do. ect. :3

Also might be a good idea to drag in that exposition bit from the sign up onto here for future reference.

The Infinity Gems don't work outside their home universe, so probably not.

I often tend to start Multiverse games with Earth with that exact idea in mind. However, I wanted to change it up and make it in medias res. I agree with what you're saying and that in any other situation, I'd do that, but I sort of had the idea of the characters already traveling the Multiverse and starting the RPG a good bit of time in their travels.

While that sounds sweet, it's more like endgame material than early game material.

As with the Incubators themselves...

World Building Info

As stated in the signups, the Incubators aren't exactly packing heat, but rather their supporters. They're either supportive of Kyubey's intent or they're obsessed with making the worlds despair or whatever. The Incubators just accept them as "humans who understand" and travel with them to help make contracts.

I have a starter villain in mind. An original character that'll highlight a bit of the Multiverse's dark secret.

Hmmm possibly a different world? OH! how about we all just meet at Milliways, The restaurant at the end of the universe which includes time and matter, for breakfast and all our characters end up sitting at the same table because why not.
Cue chatting, watching the ending of the universe, food being served and all that usual restaurant stuff. Also meeting Benjamin Franklin. And then the adventure begins!

That'd be probably for a later world. By that point though, the Titans would probably be easy pickings, either by the PCs or some other force (the multiverse isn't static, chances are someone had decided to give it a visit).

We could always leave it to the player on how to get there. Like Shezow chases a bad guy and ends up wherever the team up destination is.

That wild west world Psyga mentioned sounds fun to me. And definitely not just because one of my character's combat forms is a gunslinger.
