@MelonHead So does that mean my close range attack missed? Itsuki was down on the floor and past Judgement already with her attack.

If I was melon, I'd just power through with his own attack and accept the damage.

EDIT: You know how there was a little "thigh gap" craze where women's thighs aren't supposed to touch as part of some attractive related thing? Well, Listia having a thigh gap may cost her life if it allows his sword easy access. Take that, unrealistic beauty standards!

My character interrupted that attack, his sword strike was conducted as your character was falling to the ground.

Judgement swings, Itsuki jumps high enough into the air to avoid a sword strike at mid-height, she falls at the normal speed of a human falling (there isn't much you can do to adjust how quickly you can fall in this circumstance) Judgement being superhuman is holding a piece of metal that weighs a minute amount to him, and can easily draw his blade back to threaten Itsuki before she even hits the ground, which is what happened.

You'll have to decide what to do about the immediate threat before you can launch your ground attack, because you haven't hit the ground unmolested yet.

I'm having trouble actually visualising Khan's attack, surely he doesn't mean to bring his sword up between your character's legs? That would be insanely easy to avoid at this level, you only have to turn your body sideways.

This is why I avoid jumping in the air, unless you're character has a Smash Brothers double jump or you can fly.

Personally I'd use a certain foot implement to radically change direction, but that's up to DJ The Magnificent.

Turning her body sideways while running that fast would make her topple to the ground and roll in an impromtu cartwheel.

Mmhmm, you always were a fan of impossible last second rocket-boot dodges.

You should probably assume that she has experience with her own running speed, though in this one case some acrobatics might be useful.

Your not allowed to think about physics in the Arena! :K

Also the mons pubis is actually the starting point which is right above where you might be now thinking. I meant to kick melon in the booty before, but he mistook it for something else entirely so that meaning has sort of become canon.

Well I'd alike to think I'm used to my running speed and that maneuver would probably end up with me injuring myself in some way. Still I'm not super acrobatic anyway.

You know I've never thought of rocket boots until now, but that seems hella useful. Most I've had was a tail or something.

Your character in the techno fight with the Clockwork Man had a jet-pack variant, she used it to dodge bullets.

Just remember that for all intents and purposes we should assume her running speed is as familiar to her as ours is to the best human acrobats and parkour practitioners, her reflexes would also be similarly formidable. I can think of many ways she could move out the way of that strike, especially with the aid of her shield, hell you could just parry with your sword if you really needed to, and then let your momentum carry you forward to strike anyway.

I imagine digging a high heel into the ground to try and spin herself, but the heel would break and the character also remembers it's hard to fight in high heels anyways and falls and breaks her neck. What other foot implements are there?

Wouldn't the starting point be from the very bottom? I guess the mons pubis doesn't count as part of the bottom of the groin? Either way that doesn't change much at all.

Or I could do my suicide charge and take us both out! Mwahahaha!

That first one was referring to DJ's situation. :K

No but it's less gruesome to picture.

I'd prefer a sheet actually at least mention the capabilities of a character, rather than us just assuming they have them because reasons. After all having high speed movement does not always translate to being able to maneuver as well, for example The Flash actually does not possess heightened reflexes or gymnastics. He's just has super speed.

Less gruesome? But I thought the mons pubis was so low she'd split in half anyways.

It does say in the sheet that she has near instantaneous reaction speeds.

In regards to things you have to take for granted, well frankly it's impossible for the character to exist with that ability without certain physical abilities. Her body would have to be adapted for moving at that speed, in regards to bone density and muscle tone. The same way that Judgement has to have incredibly strong bones, to support huge weights. You just can't have the ability without these factors existing, it would be like saying you have to state a human has eye-balls when they can see.

The mons pubis is basically the fleshy bit below your belly button and above your groin from what I vaguely remember.

A normal human reaction speed is already 150 milliseconds (for males anyway, with some being as quick as 100ms). Which one might consider to already be near instantaneous. Once you get to milliseconds the only thing faster than that is the speed of light....and that seems outrageous considering this is only supposed to be a powered sword fight. As you'd visually seem to have clairvoyance.

I actually missed that the first time around, else I'd have asked to change that. To late now.

Reacting fast and actually moving your body are two different factors though, it's rare anyone actually factors in reaction speed to anything they seem to do in Arena anyway, as they visualise a scene as they're reading it completely calm watching everything unfold. I expect most fights in Arena should logically end with 'Bob was caught by surprise, he didn't react fast enough, GG'

Exactly. Someone could pull a gun on me as I'm walking down the street. Visually I could take in him doing that as it happens, but that doesn't mean I could actually react fast enough to do something about it. In her case, even if you take her off guard by pulling a gun on her, near instantaneous reactions would allow her to still be able to react, even if her brain processing the image wouldn't be that much greater than mine.

For characters reacting super duper fast like in DBZ where they hit each other in flashes, I assume some sort of time dilation is going on where everything they are doing appears to be normal speed to them but not to every else.
