Arus looked around quickly for his horsing finding it some distance away from the combat making its way towards the city. Following Holliland's command he sprinted to the horse giving it a whistle it had been trained to recognize. It turned around and let him jump onto it and immediately took off back to the city gates. If it was as he presumed the mages were up to something powerful. It would certainly need to be impressive to deal with this many risen and what ever that monster on the hill was. Arus reined in his horse at the front of the gates and turned around to see what was going to happen, if worse came to worse they would need to hold them here.

"No..." I whispered to myself as soon as I realize what hit me. I then turn towards my allies on the wall, and state "If you're attacking the esper, be careful... it counters magic with doom," I didn't dare attack the thing again, as, not only did my spells not do a dang thing, but I wasn't entirely up to see what else this thing had in store for me. "Just... please... tell me that you have at least one phoenix down ready," I then tell them, not wanting to die here due to the dark esper. No, instead, I focused on the risen who were attacking a severely wounded stranger who was trying to enter the gate on one of those horse things. I knew my time here was almost up, but that doesn't mean I can let someone else die to these things... I'll take out as many of them as I can before my time's up. I fire off all of my fire spells at the risen that have surrounded him, and look off to my left to see Erion riding a dragon that became that other stranger, the not-quite-Viera from earlier. They appeared to be retreating back to the city, as it seems the revitalized undead were a little too much for them... and just as well as they seemed to be fighting harder since the dark esper appeared. Things weren't looking good for me, and this doom just won't get out of my mind, I can't seem to forget it no matter how much I try, and it just eats away at whatever courage I had, knowing that I don't have much longer... knowing that my time is almost up. Of course, I still put on a brave face to everyone else, mainly because I didn't want this effecting their mental state, as well.

Erion holded on to his chocobo, who was also holding on, shaking but still alright. He then saw Robert shooting fire at the dark esper, which didn't seem to do much, before seeing the spell being casted towards him. He frowned. It didn't seem to have done anything, but that is what was worrying him. He waited for the group to get back to the city, hoping to at least get there in one pieces. At the time they would be back, he would dismount the dragon, before moving back, shaking a bit.
"So many risen... and that dark esper..." he says, worried a lot right now. After his chocobo dismounted, he started moving towards the walls.
"What is the plan now! I hope someone has some kind of very power spell against those things, Kupo!." he says before then getting his chocobo to move around between wounded people and using choco cure, hoping that it would help the wounded from their injuries.

As soon as they reached the city, Gabranth thanked the ones who came to rescue him. He moved off and asked the nearest soldiers, "Who is in charge here?" If that one didn't answer, he would ask as many as he needed. If he did, he would seek out that person and ask about how many troops and what supplies they have.

Fields of Dorter

It didn't take long for the warriors to reach the city, now finding themselves at the walls as they prepared for their last defense. As the guardsmen rounded, they could see that they had put some distance between the Risen and themselves- though their assailants were approaching fast. As formations were resumed in preparations for what could very well be a final defense, something seemed odd... The air around them resembled that of a desert, free from any form of moisture and blistering hot. Though highly uncomfortable and near unbearable, the native guardsman seemed somewhat relieved. If one asked, the only reply they could get from their allies would be, "Just watch."

Sure enough, not long after they had reached the walls; a massive crack resounded from within the city. Those who looked up to the top of the defensive structure would see a massive torrent of flame arc into the sky, parting clouds as it flew out of sight. For a moment, a odd stillness set over the land... Then- without any prior warning- a bellow roar would echo across the fields. All at once the ground began to tremble and quake. Those who had their eyes on the Dark Esper would see it divert it's attention from the city to the ground beneath it, an eerie screech utterly drowned out by the disembodied bellowing. It was then that the ground began to split- seemingly of it's own accord- branching all about and under the Risen who continued their mindless charge. At first, the fiery desecration merely seemed cosmetic in nature, not seeming to hamper the undead in any manner as they continued their charge.

That was until something seemed to fall from the sky, slamming into the ground with such force that the split lines on the ground seemed to erupt in fiery magma. The wave of volcanic fluids washed over a great portion of the Risen, dropping their numbers down to just a few stragglers. As the assailants turned to face the fallen figure, a might roar could be heard once more- the form of a great horned beast appearing from the ashes and dust that had once cloaked it's presence. Rearing it's head back with outstretched arms, the beast could be seen coating itself in flames, swiping it's massive claws through the few Risen that remained. Then it's attention turned to the Dark Esper. Thoughs with superior vision would be able to see the beast change it's demeanor. Once a mindless fury had now been directed solely upon the black creature, the bellowing subsiding to an onimous growl. At once, the creature leapt at the Dark Esper, claws out to it's side as it prepared to pounce upon it's prey. Yet the Dark Esper seemed unphased, merely standing it's ground as the fiery creature drew closer.

It was then that an pale green light began to eminate from the newly summoned creature, still set to collide with it's victim. What had merely taken a few minutes to devastate the legion before them had began to fade away, turning to nothing but whisps and steam as it disappeared completely. The Dark Esper stood for a moment, it's vision returning to the city. The odd silence that now presided over the recent battlefield lingered for quiet some time, not a soul daring to speak. In time, the black creature turned it's back on the city, seeming to head back in the direction of the woods. All at once, the silence was broken by the cheering and shouts of the few warriors that had remained -the ground forces that once accompanied our heroes now at half mass. The torn and mangled bodies of both the undead and fellow soldiers now littered the ground once more, a mix of sorrow and excitement settling over the crowd as the realization slowly settled upon them.

@Cyrania

As the Taguel reverted back to her normal state, she might've been surprised that very few were paying her any mind. One might expect those not accustomed to seeing dragons to be alarmed or frightened, but the crowd was more focused on the remnants of chaos before them. It was then that she noticed the familiar form of the Viera from before, her arm coated in a red hue that stained her clothes- though it was unclear if it was her own or others. Yet, Cedwic could not be seen... An ominous feeling arose in the woman.

@Evanist

As his steed leapt from the dragon's back, Erion couldn't help but assist those around him. In his attempts to cure the wounded, he would see all manner of injuries sustained by his fellow combatants. It slowly set in on him, that not all of these people could be healed by his cure. Some had sustained near fatal injuries and where hardly able to stand, some had been dragged here by their comrades... All the horrors of war in just a few short minutes... These were truly dark times.

[@Eklipse]

As the myrmidon settled in amongst the crowd of wounded and broken men about him, he couldn't help but feel that whatever morale they had garnered had been lost. For the town to lose half of it's ground defenses, this was sure to be a heavy blow. But one other thing stood out to him. The ornately armored knight from before was not among their ranks. Try as he might, Holliander could not be seen. As the crowd began to disperse, seeing the wounded ushered to the barracks and the others slowly acclimate to the lack of combat; Arus couldn't help but feel that this was a losing battle... And time was growning short

@Crimson Raven

As the heavily armored man leapt off the dragon's back, he would find himself in a mixture of seasoned and novice warriors- all of which had sustained one form of wound or another. Some barely clung to life, some would obviously lose limbs, and other seemed completely broken- even if their bodies where in better condition than the others. As he began to ask around for the commander of the forces, many would point him back to the fort. There was one that actually stopped and spoke to him.

"Sir, Holliander led the ground forces... Though he did not return with us. Now we answer to Vernire, he runs the entire fortification- or rather, what's left of it." Gabranth could tell the soldier was trying to speak as calmly as he could, but sorrow lined his voice.

@Lugia

Right before the Nu Mou's very eyes, he would see the torrent of flame leap from Robin's tome into that of the summoner's.

"King of Flames, bear down upon thine enemies. Through fire and flames, unleash thy rage upon them, Ifrit!" The summoner spoke aloud, his voice garnering an unnatural echo as his hand lifted from his tome, now overwhelming flames rocketing into the sky. As the display of fiery might before them played out, Robert couldn't help but feel amazed, though shortly reminded of his condition as a sudden throng of pain rocketed through his body. The spell that had effected him made itself known, only increasing his fear. For a moment, Robin and the Summoner stood in silence before turning their attention to Robert. Calmly the Summoner looked off to the side to one of the priests nearby.

"Prepare a Re-Raise spell. We don't want him gone for long." With a nod, the Nu Mou male approached, his form adnored by a white robe as he carried a long wooden staff by his side. Shortly after, he'd begin uttering a prayer, closing his eyes and bow his head as he uttered his chant. The green robed man turned back to the black mage as he spoke, almost seeming apologetic, "I pray it works..."

"What is he talking about?" the one called Robin spoke up, turning between Robert and the summoner.

"Follow me," the green robed made his way past Robert, heading towards the stairwell some distance behind the small group. Pausing for a moment- as if unsure- Robin followed shortly after, patting Robert on the shoulder for just a moment before continuing.

The chaos of battle is over. The stillness of death lingers. The severity of this world's crisis slowly sets in.

I didn't really have much time to respond to everything that happened, however, I did know that it would probably be for the best if I stayed here, at least until I know I'm not going to die from that horrible doom spell. "I'll catch up to you guys when I'm not about to die, okay!?" I try to shout as the duo leaves. I then recalled a pat on the shoulder from that stranger, as if he was praising me for something... yet... I didn't do anything really worth any sort of praise. Sure, I killed a few zombies, but so did practically everyone else, and sure, I tried attacking that dark esper, but look where that got me, I could have died back there, so in retrospect, it was a dumb idea, and I really should have let the professionals handle it. I would have said something to the white mage, but he seemed focused on his spell, and said spell was about to save my life, so, I decided against it mainly so I don't break his focus. With nothing else to do, I took out a small chunk of meat from my bag, and used fire magic to try to cook it. Once I was absolutely certain that the effects of the Doom spell have vanished, I headed off to where Robin and the summoner went, though, I do end up wondering what in Ivalice they needed me for. I was just a novice mage, and I'm sure they had plenty of other, more experienced magi out there who would be much better suited to whatever discussion they were having in there be it them planning a strategy, or simply wondering who's going to get how many potions for this or that.

Jo-Anne

Seeing her new friend from earlier in such a state, the Taguel ran over to her and exclaimed, "Livia, what happened to you? Are you wounded? Where's Cedwic?" Then Jo-Anne reached for one of her vulenaries and offered it to the Veira. "Here's for any injuries you may have. Is Cedwic... no, he can't be. Please say he isn't dead." Then the Ylissean looked around and saw all the other dead and wounded and thought of the commander's command to stay in formation while the two strangers were by themselves and what was finally unleashed after they had left the battlefield. Then Jo-Anne knelt down with tears streaming down and silently, solemnly said, "Livia, is all this death and suffering my fault?"

Erion looked all around, frowning as he continued to move around with his chocobo, trying to heal people, seeing many deaths around him.
"If only.... if only they could have survived... Dang Risen..." he says, frowning as he looked around the place.
"And that freaken Dark Esper... Kupo! It made everything worse!." he adds, before moving around more, using choco heal here and there. He then moved around, before hearing Jo-Anne, who was crying from all the death. She might be really sad right now, but for Erion, it was more like anger that was filling him up. A deep anger against those creatures that caused so many deaths. He looked at Boco before getting down from him.
"No... all this suffering isen't your fault Kupo... We tried to save as many people we could, but it's all because of the Risen that we have lost good people here." he says, obviously holding his anger against those things.
"I am sorry for your lost... I... just hope we will end up being able to beat those monsters off once and for all soon." he then says, Boco then sitting down, resting his legs after all that fighting that had happened.

Arus sighed in relief as the Risen hordes were decimated and the dark creature on the hill turned away. It seemed they had won. But looking around him it seemed like there was no victory here, it looked more like one more day of avoiding the inevitable. He looked around for the holy knight to give him his thanks, but surprisingly was unable to find him. After a few moments of searching he overheard a soilder say that they now answered to Vernire rather than Holliander. Arus turned back jumping on his horse and riding outside the gate angrily. Those risen scum shouldn't have been able to kill him even with that evil creature on the hill and he wouldn't have gotten caught up in the lava explosion. Surely, surely he was just wounded and had been left behind. Arus didn't know why he felt such an attachment to the holy knight, after all they had only just met and death wasn't new to Arus. At least something of the holy knight must remain right? At least that's what Arus thought as he attempted to ride back outside and search for any trace of the knight.

As the spell was cast over the Nu Mou, he'd feel a sudden surge of life within him as the dread of death all but evaporated. The spell that the White Mage had cast seemed to nullify the dreaded effects of the Dark Esper's counter attack, allowing the Black Mage to breath easily. After his impromptu meal, Robert left the wall and began following the steps of the Summoner and Robin. Though not entirely sure where they were, he could see a crowd of people gathering in the what appeared to be the city's center. As the mage stepped forward, he could see a wooden platform in front of those who had gathered here. Sure enough, the two humans from before stood upon the platform, their eyes focused on the crowd as the soft echo of murmurs and whispers rung in Robert's ear. However, his attention would be quickly drawn to the figure between the two of them, a regal form of a man- visibly older those flanking him- dawning armor that seemed blacker than night and a massive blade who's tip rested softly upon the wood. Robert didn't really know why, but he felt an ominous presence from the man.

@Cyrania@Evanist

"This one is fine... But Cedwic," Livia would turn her attention from the Taguel to the field behind them, her eyes seeming fixed on a certain point. It was then that an unfamliar voice called out behind the duo, causing both the Taguel and Viera to turn towards it's origin. It was a creature much like Cedwic, though unique in his own right. He was followed closely by a feathered creature, much like the swordsman from before that seemed to lead the guard. Still, Erion's words were comforting, causing Livia to smile softly.

"Cedwic was kind. Foolish, but kind. He knew war would claim man, but showed no fear... Even at his end," The Viera reached a hand up as she stroked her cheek, attempting to wipe away the obvious tracks from unseen tears. Though she seemed to show no sign of grief, it's obvious today's event's were taking it's toll.

All at once the troops around the trio began to make their way into the city. All at once, Livia seemed to gain her composure with a heavy sigh, "We must go. Vernire will want to speak about what has happened." With that, Livia began to make her way towards the gate, motioning for Jo-Anne and Erion to follow. Once they made it to the center of Dorter, they would see an assembly before a stage, with three figures atop it. Jo-Anne would recognize Robin, but the others remained uknown to anyone... However, the dark armored man in the center seemed to attract alot of stares from the Taguel's companions.

@Eklispe

Try as the warrior might, he could not find any sign of Holliander. Though he clung to hope that the swordsman might still be alive, the scattered bodies of both the undead and the living were all the greeted him upon the field. Or at least, up until he crested the hill. Once he had made it to the top of the mound, he could clearly see the helmet of knight at the edge of the woods. If he took a moment to scan the ground, he could see what looked like bird's feet leading further into the woods.

Having traveled through this thicket before with his caravan, Arus would probably think that this familiar sight was nothing strange... But though everything looked the same, the air about him felt wrong. It was as if the very nature of the beast that stood before them had violated and desecrated this place, causing it to seem foreign and hostile.

@Evanist@Cyrania@Lugia

As the murmur of the crowds grew louder, a sudden loud thud could be heard from the stage. If one looked, they could see the tip of the blade buried into the wood. All at once, the area fell silent.

"Dorter no longer offers the protection we need," the armored man spoke, his voice seeming to boom and echo with supernatural strength. Though his presence was overwhelming, the ominous aura about him seemed to fade into an air of authority. This made demanded respect, even those who stood behind him seemed to notice this, "It is time we make for Zaland. The fortified walls will make it much easier to mount a defense, despite our loses." All at once, the voices in the crowd seem to raise up. This news obvious disquieted most that stood within this assembly.

"What about our homes?! It's been little over a season, and you'd have us pack up on a trek further south!" A voice called out from the crowd, though the source would remain hidden in the crowd.

"We all have had trying times," the Summoner spoke, holding up a hand as the dark armored man turned his attention to the one with the green cloak and strange orange horn, "Even now we mourn the loss of those who did not survive this latest onslaught. But a castle's walls would offer better protection, better-"

"Getting rid of the fools that rushed our men to their deaths would be better," The same voice shouted, causing a few others to shout our in affirmation.

It was now that the blue robed figure -Robin- stepped forward, "No one is to blame for this, aside from Grima. The wicked 'Beast', as you all call him, is the source of this violence and chaos. If he had never came here-"

"You mean if you never had sent him here!" This time, the voice was familiar to some. Seem Va'gaji was speaking his mind, "We know about your involvement! You couldn't handle him so you-"

A sudden crackling cut the Bangaa off before he could finish his speech. Upon the stage, a massive blade seemed to rocket out of the ground, cleaving the earth and the stage just behind the dark armored man, who seemed unphased. This blade was cloaked in an ominous shadow- Robert able to tell this was a strong form of darker magic. All at once, silence fell over the crowd once more.

"They died alongside us! They fought beside my brother, Holliander, and saw the end of several of those vile creatures! I will not have useless hate mongering within my walls. If you do not like those who I place my trust in, you can see yourself out of the city," And with that, the blade would recede back into the earth, it's eerie presence no longer felt. No objections this time, though the Summoner and Robin exchanged worried glances, "Now prepare your things. We leave in two days time. Bring only what you need to survive the trip, and nothing more!"

Jo-Anne

As the crowd was dismissed, Jo-Anne wrestled with herself whether she should have done something different that day. "Was there a better way to tell Va'gaji about Grima? Should I not have tried to help those strange people? Come on now, it was the Risen who caused the death, like that moogle on the bird said. Va'gaji would probably have misconstructed anything I said, he has a short fuse from a war he seeks an explanation for. I need to do something to clear my head, too much has happened today"

So the Taguel rushed to catch up with Viera. "Hey, Viera wait up." Then Viera stopped, turned, and wordlessly waited for Jo-Anne. Then the Taguel asked her, " I know this is a bad time to ask this and I'm sorry but, when would be a good time to meet up with your sisters?"

Arus's eyes light up as he saw the helmet, at last some trace of the knight. He glanced at the obvious tracks leading into the woods. Could those be of Holliander's chocobo? Was he chasing after that dark creature that had somehow made the risen more powerful and then remained unaffected by that insanely powerful spell? His horse neighed and pranced clearly nervous just being in the same area.

He looked back at the city reluctantly, realistically speaking, he should grab the helmet and ride back to the city in order to organize a search party and then find him. But after that it might be too late, and he couldn't even guarantee that he could gather enough people to come with him. After all Arus was part of the group that would no doubt be viewed as having brought this trouble in the first place and, as he had already seen, the locals so far dealt with at least some dislike towards them.

He grabbed the helmet and tapped his horse with his heels causing it to begin riding into the forest, albeit somewhat reluctantly. If Holliander was out there, or worse fighting that evil creature, he had to help in any way he could. Arus drew his sword as he followed the tracks, expecting the worst.

Erion breath deeply before moving towards where Robert was at a distance. All that talk that the town folks were having, all the hatred to those that supposedly caused the group to rush outside... It wasen't his fault there were people that were stuck outside and he wanted to help them... maybe he should have just stayed back. He breath deeply, hearing what was being said, as well as the dark blade that caused everyone to stay silent. He stopped in his tracks, looking towards the man. Leave this place towards a more dependable position would be a good idea. He moved towards Robert, before Boco nudged him. He turned around, looking at his ride, who seemed a bit tired right now.
"Gonna bring you to the stables soon Boco." he says. He then moves to where Robert was and breath deeply.
"Dang Risen... I can't believe all the death that happened." he says frowning, shaking his head a bit and looking at his mount.
"Robert, I need to bring Boco to the stable for now, he is a bit too tired now." he says, turning around.
"See you soon." he then says, moving away and going towards the stables. With all that happened lately, he felt like Boco needed a bit of rest maybe. He then though about the other mounts that didn't have anyone to ride them anymore. He wasen't going to replace Boco, but it might be good idea to have another mount to use when Boco was too tired... and he might learn a trick or 2.

Erion walked up to me, basically just to tell me that he was heading off to the stables, and the new guy, the strange-armored man spoke of leaving this place, of heading to Zaland... and for everyone to follow him. He probably wanted to take the usual path to get there, however, there were a couple of areas along the way that, even before this outbreak were dangerous, and monster-filled. I had to speak up, I had to say something about this... but I couldn't. No matter how much I tried, I couldn't string together the correct words for this until I managed to say "Stay away from the beaten path," nobody probably heard me, and those who did were probably going to laugh at me, but what I said was true... the zombies liked staying on said path, occasionally stopping by some monster-infested area or another, and there were at least two of those between here and Zaland, them being the Araguay Woods, and Zeirchele Falls, and even then, who's to say there's anything left for us once we get to Zaland, now, I was a wanderer, so I was actually planning to leave, myself, but I didn't want the entire town to leave as well. I needed at least a few places I could buy supplies, stay for a while without the fear that a zombie's going to find me, and possibly even meet other wanderers who could join us... none have done that, yet, but I would still try every time I found a town that was still intact. That being said, what of whatever few civilians that still had little to no combat training? They wouldn't survive for very long out there, I was only lucky on my first few adventures... and on my first one, there wasn't even an outbreak of these things.

@Cyrania

The Viera paused for a moment, seeming slightly conflicted as Jo-Anne spoke. Livia gave a heavy sigh as she put on a subtle smile, "This one is going to meet with her sisters shortly. They must be told of the towns plans. We have kept separated ourselves for to maintain our way of living, but we cannot hope to survive on our own... There are too little of us left." As she spoke, Jo-Anne could tell she was somewhat saddened by her own remarks, but the remorse slowly changed to curiosity.

"What of your own kin? You have strange powers, some that this one has never seen before. Is everyone of your clan capable of this feat?" As she asked her question, she'd motion for the Taguel to follow, both of them heading towards the gates of the city. Normally there would be guards stationed here, however almost no one was present. Almost everyone in town was busy gathering their belongings and readying carts for their treks... Others were preparing to stay here, refusing to follow the rest of the towns populous. It's obvious the divide was coming, but for now Taguel was being led into the forest to meet the Livia's clan.

@Evanist

As the moogle led his mount to the stables, he couldn't help but notice the activity of the city. After the assembly, the towns-people seemed to spring to life, though seeming more desperate than ever, families darting back and forth between houses and carts, shop owners raiding their own stalls for potions and other useful items. This chaos would continue all the way to the stables, oddly the only calm place as the mounts seemed oblivious to the hustle and bustle. Erion had no problem leading Boco to his own stall, Erion could see that the human from earlier was no where to be seen. It seemed odd, but nothing seemed too out of place... However, that Wyvern from earlier was no longer there, yet the multicolored chocobos in the stables from before still were scratching around their pin.

@Lugia

Despite his attempt to warn the people about him, no one seemed to pay the Black Mage any mind. As he stood in the now emptying square, Robert could see all manner of people scurrying about in preparation for the approaching travels. Nothing seemed to really catch Robert's eyes, the trio on the stage had left for the headquarters located further into the town.

@Crimson Raven

As Gabranth waited patiently inside this interior room, having been escorted to the 'HQ' by the same soldier that had been speaking on the situation at hand. There wasn't much in the room to speak of, merely a long table with multiple chairs, a few candles, maps, and other tomes and texts scattered about. It seemed this was where the leaders of this town planned their actions, several pins and knives posted around the map seeming to mark several locations. Off in a corner was the woman who he had first seen upon waking up, her clothes dirtied and torn slightly- though the woman herself seemed no worse for wear. It was obvious she was uncomfortable here, making it a point to not make eye contact with the armored warrior as she sat in silence.

The silence didn't last long however, a sudden slamming of an outter door causing the woman to practically leap out of her chair to attention. Heavy footsteps could be heard outside the room to where they both sat, steadily approaching the door before it was slammed open. In the doorway stood a man similarly armored to Gabranth, though the metal plates were of a darker hue. In fact, it was odd... It was almost as if the metal seemed to absorb all light around it and cause it to fade into darkness. The visage on the pale elder warriors face was that of anger, marching forward towards Gabranth as he held a bright green jewel within his grasp.

"Who are you?" his voice seemed to demand an answer.

Forest around Dorter

The forest seemed to grow more twisted and thicker around Arus, making even the open forest a claustrophobic experience. Yet as he steeled his will, he'd eventually come to the opposite edge, a large hill looming over the area around it- atop it sat a rather small church. The tracks from the chocobo definitely led towards the stone structure, Arus following without delay. Despite the unfamiliar symbols, it was clear that this was a holy place- the odd welcoming presence a stark contrast to the ominous feeling just outside it's walls. Sure enough, there was Holliander's chocobo, actually tied to a stone statue. However, the elderly knight was no where to be seen.

Arus looked at the place perplexed. What was a small church like this doing out here? It was clearly maintained by someone given that it wasn't in total disorder. More importantly, what was Holliander doing here? Arus dismounted and tied his horse next to the chocobo and cautiously moved towards the church. The ominous feeling that he had felt in the forest seemed to melt away here, but it still wasn't enough to complete relax him. He pushed open the door and slowly stepped inside, "Holliander?!" Arus shouted awaiting a response.

"There isn't really a clan of us," The Taguel said as she followed the Viera. "My grandmother was the only one left of the Taguel after her warren was massacred. But then she married grandfather and the race continued through my father, Yarne."

"And what was your grandfather then?" Livia asked.

"A human, or as you call them a hume." Jo-Anne responded. "They had fought together in Chrom and Robin's army and fallen in love. Anyways, then through some bizarre circumstance, my father was transported back in time to prevent Grima's conquering of our world along with other children of the army's soldiers including Chrom's daughter, Lucinda, and Nah, my future mother and a hybrid human/manakete, a long-lived race that could change into dragons. They fell in love and got married, having six of us and settling down after Grima seemed to have been defeated for good."

"And all of you can change into either state?" the Viera asked as they left the gates behind.

"Well, yes and no," was the Taguel's response. "You see, all of us are capable of doing it, but to varying degrees. Tartane and I are right at home in our Taguel forms, but feel bloated and stretched in Manakete form. Zuko and Shannon are magnificent in Manakete form, but are almost laughable in Taguel form. Then there's Alastair and Dana who can just barely use either form. Alastair takes it well though, he's the strongest of the family and will often fight for us when kids call us names, even though we're older than him and the name-callers were older than him."

Jo-Anne laughed a bit at the memory of one of those fights. Then she hung her head. "But Dana, she's the most magically inclined and would willingly act as our healer when needed. Yet, she always acted like either she wished she could truly transform as well or that she despised us for being non-human and wished to have pure human blood. I've never been really sure of her and always felt bad for not being able to trust a sister."

Nobody seemed to pay any attention to me, and while I'd normally be just fine with that, this time, it could end in their death. I briefly considered not following the trio to their HQ, and simply let whatever happens happen, but I decided against it, simply due to the fact that I wasn't going to let people die due to this... and if I did, it wouldn't be their fault, it would be mine for not actually telling them. I headed towards the HQ, and after knocking on the wooden door, signs that this used to be a residence rather than anything else, I was let in, and once inside, I notice just how crowded this place was. "Um... sorry to interrupt, but, well... look, I just need to tell you something real quick, the zombies, er, the new zombies seem to like taking the pathways from city to city, and seem to take a pit stop in the more monster-infested areas. I'm just letting you know that it might be better if we gave the beaten path a wide berth, and if we tried to avoid the Araguay Woods, and Zeirchele Falls... that is, if you're still intent on heading to Zaland," not even awaiting a response from them after that, I simply left, closing the door behind me, and making sure that it doesn't slam behind me, after all, I didn't want to be rude to these people, even if I was probably going to leave them behind, soon. I then came up with another idea, one where the fighters would surround the civilians from all sides, but I figured they were going to employ something like that, or already knew, this was probably not their first time acting as an escort service. I then looked around for anyone I knew, and unfortunately, couldn't find anyone, so I simply waited at the eastern wall, pretty much ready to head off, myself.

Erion looked around the stable, seeing that the wyvern was no longer there. He sighed and looked around, feeling a bit more alone in there. Where the heck was the human that helped him last time... did he actually get to ride that wyvern and was up in the sky now... or was it more... gruesome... He shakes his head before starting to investigate the stable a bit more, and then looking at the chocobo's all around. Then the red one caught his eye. He started to move towards it's pen, careful.
"There there... I won't hurt you..." he says before opening the pen big enough to make him enter it, and closing it behind him. He then move towards the bird and started to slowly groom it, trying to calm it down. Maybe it will let him ride it. Boco did need some rest right now, and he needed probably to get some work to do in town to help out. Another chocobo to use while his friend was resting would be great, he just hoped that it would not attack him or get mad. He was close enough to the door to move out of the pen and move away if things did go haywire. If the beast didn't want him to ride him but still wanted to be groomed, he could continue that for a bit.

Gabranth took off his helmet, set it aside, and studied the inside of the room. It was simple and efficient, and somehow...familiar. He felt like he had been in rooms like this many times. At the sound of the door opening, Gabranth got up and faced the warrior. "If you want my name, I know it not." He replied, "However, you can call me Gabranth. My turn, who are you?" He asked the figure.
