Hello, and thanks for taking the time to read this! Here's a thing I've had on my mind for a while.
Post-apocalyptic and related stuff always had my interest. Problem is that I don't like zombies and other fantasy stuff much, and I prefer a focus on the human interaction, the rebuilding of society, and all that drama without the walkers popping in every now and again. (As opposed to bandits).
So what happens is that over the last year, we've been having a massive, global epidemic of some disease that killed the vast majority of the human population. Over the course of that year, people fled to safety. Some were resistant, some survived, more died alone. Over the course of that year, most bodies rotted, burned or were disposed of. Science looked for a cure. But time ran out as society slowly evaporated, and man's numbers dwindled to a measley 350 million worldwide.
It's been a while since those who survived bugged out. The disease has went, somehow. Cities are overgrowing, but on the short-term there has been little change to our atmosphere, flora and fauna. People's stocks are slowly running out, and some are coming out to look for more food, more water, more medical supplies, more weapons, or eachother. Anarchy and chaos consume the world, and rebuilding seems like a gargantuan task when nobody seems to have any good intentions whatsoever.
---
So, that's what I cooked up so far. It's 2AM as I write this, so all questions that come up should be asked. But before this post-apocalypse(or cataclysm, as Shoryu made clear), and pre-rebuild wandering RP starts, I have one for you. It should set the tone of collective storytelling I envision, which means that if I leave that the rest can continue.
So the question I have is...Where will this take place? I've had Central Europe/Russia, Scandinavia, or South Africa on my mind. What about you?
