Glad to have you! With regards to the other players I don't know about what gender they are playing, I've only received one CS, a 15 year old female. I'd like to balance this as much as possible so in the event it is imbalanced I'll be playing as the guide who will be there to balance the team gender wise, and will challenge them in an emotional level.

Yes, we are going to be playing as the Failure team. And your character would be fine. The thing with the Failure team, as @babbysama mentioned in the ICheck once the Failure team are just comprised of normal people, they commit crimes, mistakes, flawed, etc. the only reason they are called Failures was because they pale in comparison to the Elites. I'd have to see the CS itself, but like I said conceptually they seem okay.

Yes! Life does happen, it's fine you are here now. It depends on the character, how old are they? If they're not too old it shoudn't be a problem, I'd allow the exception and would still work with the story. One of the key aspects of the Failure team is that they were special cases, the group filled with exceptions to the rule. I would have revealed it in the story, but the true origin of this group was so that members of organization who ran it wanted their children to survive as well even though they normally wouldn't.

You can have a guide like character, which someone actually did when I ran a 1x1 of this. Would that work for you?

Ok, well in this case, I'm going to nerf down the annoying-ness of the character. I think I'll be playing a male, but I may take a little while to create an app, so if it ends up you have too many males, just hit me up and I'll quickly change the gender of the character.

BTW i didn't really get to mention it, but prior to getting frozen our characters lived in the 21st century,
I didn't really think it would be necessary to know what year our character's get frozen since it would be in the past, and since time wise we're reverting to zero. One of the things that our characters will be doing is deciding to start up a method to count the passing of days.

In my defense, a laser powerful enough to punch a hole through a sheet of metal and can be handheld is already in existence, and, the main constraint, power supply, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lithium%E2%80%93air_battery is being overcome incredibly quickly. I mean, if we have functional cryonics, I must imagine that we would be able to make a functional handheld laser pistol. (or rifle) And if the cryonics is done through nanotech, can I also have a nanocolony that can act as a first aid medic kit? I'm making my character to be military, so it would make sense that she would have this stuff and know how to use it.

@Kieran That's good to hear. I don't want to rush you. Feel free to make your character to the best of your abilities, and cater them to your desires.

@Sypherkhode822Be that as it may. This is not going to be that kind of RP. While I labeled this story as a Scifi that's only because of the premise, and the tech used to preserve them, and some other things which ill reveal in the future. This is going to be a realistic Survival RP wherein technology is going to be reset to zero, and limited to what our characters can make.

Also just a head's up, there will be no weapons such as handguns or rifles. If you have some sort of equipment that requires modern tech and maintenance to use then it won't pass.

@Sypherkhode822 Hmm I think that's fair, but they should be manually loaded otherwise it just wouldn't make sense. ;)

I'm currently working to update the Settings of the story so that you guys can know what to expect. For now though earth basically resembles that of the Devonian era.

As for our team, which I'll reveal the name once we're ready to start, they'll be landing on an island full tall mushroom infested trees, a lot of reptiles, and some very deadly crustaceans, but no mammals though so that's good. The island itself is quite nice though, there's disappearing beaches, caves filled with who knows what, the occasional landslides, rivers with fast and deadly waters, and dark skies full of thunder and lightning.

For the Skills section yeah? Depending on what you called your skill it the answer may be different, but in general it would go as follows.
For "Applications" how do you the writer, and hwo would your character use that skill in surviving, what are the benefits of having someone like that around, why is this person useful?
The "Thoughts On" would be a first person kind of perspective, what does your character think about this kind of skill? it'll answer quetsions about your character such as "Do they think it's useful? Do they like it?"
Depending on the character, and the skill, and it's origins the "thoughts on" part would be vary.
For example, if a character who comes from a political background and you wrote "Governmental and Political Infrastructure Knowledge" as their skill the Application would be for learning how to manage discussions, writing documents, rebuilding the government, and laws, etc. Their thought on it however would change depending on the type of person they are. If say the person hated his family, who gave him all this first hand experience then they would think of it as a useless skill, something they wished wasn't a part of them, a reflection of a family life that abused him. On the other hand if the person actually treasured his family then he may think it's useful, he may appreciate it, they may think it's a gift that he thanks his family for.
If it's still a little unclear or if you're having troubles that is fine. I would gladly help you build your character and clear some things up to the best of my abilities.

Yes! we are still very much OPEN and would remain that way until one of two things happen, (1) We get a complete set of seven characters, or (2) after a few days of advertising and such and no one is applying any more I will move forward with the number of people currently accepted.

BTW! I should mention this now, but for the personal effects. No guns or any sort of weaponry allowed. The exception to these are personal memorabilia or objects that mean something to the character whilst having being a weapon, such a butterfly knife from your dad, or something.
