I changed my mind on the duo thing. So I made a paraplegic Iron Man instead.
Name: Sasha Belov
Age: 31
Gender: Male
Nationality: Russian
Power: Sasha is a just a normal guy in a super suit. His bionic suit, controlled by his thoughts via neurotransmitters, allows him to walk despite being a paraplegic. His suit enhances his strength, speed, and allows him flight.
Physical Description: Sasha is a very large, muscular man. He's 6'7" when standing, has pale skin and dirty blonde hair that is kept in a neat
buzz cut. His eyes are a gray-ish blue. Sasha has several tattoos, one being the simplified bird seen in
this picture. When out hero-ing, he wears a
getup that covers almost all of his skin, ensuring that no one would know which parts of him are real or fake.
Personality: Sasha's a pretty harmless guy, despite what you may think. Sure, he'll drop a baddie in a second, but he's not the 'eat bullets for breakfast and drink testosterone' type of guy. Level headed, intelligent, hard working, sometimes a bit of a goof. Sasha has several soft spots, mostly those for kids and animals. And the occasional woman. He's a notorious flirt, and he doesn't let the fact that he's stuck in a wheelchair 50% of the time get in the way of that.
Skills: He has no powers, but Sasha is a whiz kid when it comes to machines. Computers, engines, microchips, motors, you name it. He's invented a few weapons using this hobby of his. Most of his better designs he sells to the government, but there are a few that he keeps just for him.
He can speak several different languages, most of the European. These include Russian, English, Spanish, some French, and a little German.
History:Sasha grew up in Kazan, Russia. His mother had been a drug addict, and overdosed when Sasha was 5. He was left to be raised by his father, who fell into depression after the loss of his wife. The man was an alcoholic, and a violent one at that. After Sasha's mother had died, his father had essentially lost interest in being a father. He would often invite his equally drunken friends over to watch soccer games, drink, and play poker while Sasha hid in his room and pretended not to exist. Sasha wanted to get out of the house as soon as he could, and joining the military seemed like the best option. However, Sasha had something of an authority issue when he was younger. His father's abuse had turned him into a rebellious punk.
After six years of service, Sasha slowly lost some of that punk kid attitude. He liked the military well enough, until around 23 years of age, when he unknowingly became the victim of a biological warfare experiment. He was accidentally exposed to a man-made disease that was engineered to attack the spinal cord of its victims, rendering them paralyzed. When this breach was discovered, the company that created the disease quickly swept it under the rug, sending people to quickly remove Sasha and hold him for observation.
Sasha had no idea what had happened to him, but when he slowly began to loose function of his limbs, he began to put the pieces together. He slowly became paralyzed as he was reduced to nothing more than a human lab experiment. It wasn't until American forces caught wind of this bioweapon and threatened to wage war against Russia if they didn't put an end to the project. Agents were sent in to ensure that the weapon was, indeed, rid of, when they came across Sasha in his holding cell.
They extracted him and brought him back to the states to study the disease he was infected with, to see if there was a way to reverse it just in case it were to ever be made again. They were, unfortunately, unsuccessful.
But while no medical cure was available, Sasha was able to use his mind, the only thing he had left, to create a new way to function. He got together with a freelance engineer who was able to help him create a complex machine that would replace his spine. He required surgery to have it put in place, but for the first time in almost two years, he was able to use his limbs again.
Sort of.
He only regained control of his arms. But using the same technology that went into his spinal augmentation, he was able to recreate the nerves in his legs. In order for it to work, he must wear an external brace, which is now built into his suit. Sasha and his partner have since been using their collective genius to sell designs for new machines to medical companies and even the government. He's careful, however, to not let anyone else find out about his own enhancements.
Sasha got into the hero business when he found out that the same company that created the disease that paralyzed him was moving into the States to continue their work under the guise of a medical research corporation. He first suited up to expose their evil ways, and that opened a door to a whole new purpose for him.
Sasha has been running around the city fighting crime for about two years now, although he's made a point to not make a big name for himself. He stays out of the limelight to avoid anyone finding out his identity. When he's not patrolling the city, he trades his bionic suit for a wheelchair.
