[OOC] Deep Ground Online (Hiatus)

Ah, fresh meat. WELCOME!

Let me bring you up to speed. These past few (IC) days have been rather eventful thanks to the recent opening of the Ebony Strykers, the Black Guild, which has been disbanded for some time. Moon rider, the King (Technically Queen, but all Guild Leaders are referred to as Kings) of the Ebon Strykers has opened her doors to new membership. People flooded in fast, but with some issues: Recently a player has been going around in the various Deep Ground guilds and stealing powerful items and artifacts, though she hasn't yet hit the Black Guild. Additionally, there is a unorganized faction (made by yours truly) known as the Sweepers who have allied themselves to the Ebon Strikers. The Sweepers are vigilante players who have taken it upon themselves to deal with outlaws and bandits within Deep Ground, and aren't officially a guild or affiliated with any until now.

Recently, those of the Ebony Strykers just defeated a Level 5 Dissolution Boss, as well as worked together to clean the streets of the black city of the outlaw squatters. We will soon be moving things on to different events that will hopefully involve everyone, whether they want to or not.

Same case with the preceding posts, heard there was a need of RPers, and I managed to dig up my old CS. Not sure if I would apply as a Green King (If that's even possible in this iteration of the RP), and also due to my late arrival. But yeah, I'll read up on what's been happening as of late.

Well that's because I liberated myself, I tore my master to pieces with my bare hands and became free. I'm not going into service for you, I follow Windel for the time being.

History: Nao didn't have much special in her life she had a boring life where each and every day she would do normal boring things and be like everyone else, but then her life changed when she made a friend that was a gamer, her friend introduced her to video games and almost over night she became a gamer her self she was bumming her friend's videogame console till she got her own.

And when she got her own she was gaming like a manic with almost no end till she ended up passing out on her bed or the floor, like a regular gamer she was pre-ordering games and getting supplies to help her play video games, and in a madder of time she became a regular gamer and turning to a hardcore gamer, she started changing to other consoles and using a computer to play video games.

The second Nao turned 18 enough she got an easy job to make easy money over the phone, and got a little shipping container as a house with electricity and heat over the internet, she soon set up all of her gaming consoles and became a young hikikomori gamer outside of her parent's house, she worked over the phone in her little home and always bought take out and would either go and get it or she would have it delivered to her shipping container home.

When she heard about D.G.O she heard mixed news about it, the game actually had a couple gamers die playing it for hours on end and even die in gaming cafes playing it for almost days, Nao was a little hesitant to play it but soon it was added to her almost ceiling stack of games that she would play, and when she started gaming D.G.O was her main game that she would play and no other games haven't been played by her for days.

Personality: Nao is an easygoing person for a hikikomori, she doesn't mind having to go a long way to do something for someone as long as it's worth it in the end, Nao can be kinda selfish from time to time and is willing to call others out on their bull shit.

The Japanese girl is pretty open for someone who plays online mostly, she can be very talkative at moments but knows when it's the right time to talk and when to shut her mouth, Nao hates people who blames others for their own faults, she hates having to look after people who don't know what they are doing, but shes willing to aid other people who are strong or brave.

@Spriggs27 Character's got to be highschool age (13-18), Deep Ground is for teens only. Take that into consideration and edit her history accordingly and she's good. Also for your Body Armor feat, do you mean she takes 20% less damage, or does her armor actually hurt her more?

Was thinking along the lines of an ex-hacker who is now semi-voluntarily employed to counter-hack. Semi-voluntary, because it was to do this or be imprisoned(?).

Basically, find the sources of hacking, and trace it back to the original user(s), to allow those who are hacking to be caught.

Personality: Nonchalant, confident, and observant are all words synonymous with Shiro's satirical personality. Always the one to see the cup half full, even when he's drinking from said cup. The boy takes pride in giving out advice like he gives out EXP boosts. Being a soft-spoken and kind fellow, he always finds his own little niche in communities, and gradually becomes a more prominent. This isn't to say that he's a controlling person, he just wants a few aces up his sleeve in case things go awry. Shiro is a natural at making small talk, and always manages to throw in enough humor and seriousness to retain his listener's attention, but casts the latter whenever needed. Whenever his eye patch is brought up in conversation, he happily obliges in giving whomever it may concern the whole rundown, and even offers to show them his scars if they're daring enough.

In game, Shiro, or Paper Moon as he goes by, practically remains the same as his IRL self. Really, he even has the galls to have his actual face modeled onto his character, and sports a hood for concealment at most. His satirical demeanor is a bit more evident in the world of DGO, but he still remains decisively steadfast in his role.

History: Not everybody has an eventful origin. Some people just go through life straddling a perfectly lacking any peaks or dips. More than just a few experience this curse of inescapable monotony, and hopelessly wish for a sudden climax to make an appearance. Why, yes, this form of lifestyle is ultimately boring.

Luckily, Shiro was never a member of this populace. He did end up barfing on his father during his infancy. Now that was an exhilarating excursion. But instead of condemning himself to a life of normalcy, the young Shiro, born to a factory foreman and a housewife, took reality by the reins and plotted himself a course for adventure. Or, at least, to form his own little posse of kids his age and best all of the neighborhood bullies. Which they succeeded in, definitely something to note.

And then somewhere in the midst of his junior high endeavors, he found himself in a car accident. The boy didn't get banged up to bad, excluding the shard of glass that found itself lodged into his left eye, but his therapy didn't last too long. Around this time Shiro had long picked up gaming as a hobby, which was the main reason why he was attending the academy he enrolled in.

As for how he found himself in the middle echelons of the Sweepers, well, that's a whole entire dubbocle in itself. Shiro was never one to break or infringe upon the system. He's quite an ethical person, and believes that all is fair in love and war. Yet he ended up befriending those who were of a more shady moral character, and soon enough found himself within the ranks of an unofficial, yet acknowledgedly evident group within the community of DGO. At the moment, Shiro has taken on the role of a Sweeper, but is considered on the higher end of the spectrum considering how much of a say he has. He's actually quite friendly with a few Erasers, and remains in good ties with them considering his amiable behavior. The kid still maintains his policy of getting to know his target before shooting it.

Avatar Abilities:
Keen Eyes: Can easily discern targets through mist or any substance that isn't completely solid, other examples being ash, heavy snowfall, or cracks in infrastructure. Other players are registered as thermal signatures when the ability is active, but how clearly and lucidly they show up depends on their range. Keen Eyes is only effective up to 80 meters, and practically becomes useless beyond that point.

Under The Moon's Shadow: During nighttime, Paper Moon is able to active an ability that increases his mobility through darker areas by 15%. This doesn't damper the sound of his footsteps in any way, in all actuality, it makes them more rapid and audible. Usually used when he wants to quickly close the gap between a lone unknowing individual and himself.

Fairy Blue: An ability that affects Shiro's bullets, imbuing them with a phantasmic cerulean coating of flames. The rounds' trajectory is barely changed, and they have an additional flame effect on top of the already heft bullet payload, which equates to roughly an additional 10%. Of course, this ability makes his shots more visible, which for an assassin is generally a bad thing. Because of this, it is usually employed as a last stand or ditch effort ability, and tends to get Shiro out of some pretty hectic situations.

Avatar Feats:

Assassination: Sneak attacks do double damage. Not applicable if already in combat.

But what about dat eye doe?
Even though IG Shiro's character lacks an eye patch, the left eye is more of a cosmetic than anything. Since his disabled eye is unable to make a retinal connection with DGO, thus he has the same visual perspective IG as he does IRL. At first it limited his combat effectiveness, but he's managed to work out the kinks and hone himself to the hindrance. On the bright side, he doesn't have to waste the time closing his right eye to aim down the scope.

Suppressors:
He fancies them, albeit they add a bullet speed reduction, his Fairy Blue ability is surprisingly cooperative with them, and doesn't burn off the muzzle attachment.
