Marvel 2099 iCheck

The concept of the future 2099 universe in Marvel Comics has always intrigued me, and as a kid I collected every issue of the original Spiderman 2099 run as well as several issues of 2099 Unlimited that featured Hulk 2099, but also some issues of Punisher 2099 and Ghost Rider 2099. At some point after the year 2000, Marvel tried to capture what was once something of a successful new universe with Daredevil and others getting 2099 make-overs. Recently during the Secret Wars crossover event that's reshaping the MU, an Avengers 2099 finally happened with some weird form of Spiderman 2099 as the antagonist and CEO of Alchemax. It consisted of a jacked up female Capt. America, Hercules, a blue skinned Sub Mariner, a winged Hawkeye [no there was no bow or arrows that I could see] a ridiculously teched out Black Widow, and a wilder looking Ironman.

Basically in this RP, if it makes it to an OOC and IC, it's a new Marvel universe 74 years in the future. Spiderman 2099 is the only remaining cannon character since he's pretty much the best 2099 has got so far. At this point, IDK if we'll be the product of Alcehmax trying to make it's own heroes, or just a team that comes together to fight big corporations like Alchemax.

I'm not gonna bother with a CS model yet, this is clearly just an interest check and to see what kinda characters/players we might get for this. I was thinking of either Ghost Rider or Cyclops myself and using one of the Tron Marvel variant covers for reference.

So, who wants to save the future?

Definitely interested! If we are using cannon Marvel characters, then I'd love to use a retooled version of Ghost as a hero. If not, maybe a futuristic War-Machine or Colossus.

^^^Sweet. Glad to see some people into the concept. And I'm happy to see the characters mentioned aren't exactly Avengers A listers. I actually think I've got an idea for the concept now....

In an attempt to take down Spiderman, Alchemax begins manufacturing it's own superhumans based on superheroes from the 20th and early 21st centuries. In an effort to aid the Spiderman of 2099, who's now gone missing, heroes began to rise to take the fight to Alchemax and their Big Brother way of ruling the once great city of Nueva York [formerly NYC]. Who could've imagined the outcasts and even powerless heroes that stepped up to fight for the citizens stuck in the downtown street level division of the city.

Just to be clear, the rich and powerful live on the higher floors of more glamorous buildings and skyscrapers. The lower class live closer to the bottom with the middle class of course being stuck in the middle. There are flying cars. And in place of a police force is the privatized Public Eye law enforcement who have cameras everywhere they can have them. The Public Eye for me was always something similar to Judge Dredd, flying bikes, ridiculous amounts of weaponry and gear, and the authority to get away with murder.

I know there's no CS format yet, but I wanted to get my ideas down while I had a few spare moments.

Thor 2099:

Nano-Skin: An exo-layer of nano-skin that was grafted over ___ body. This nano-skin is self repairing and increases ___'s durability. The nano-skin also amplifies ___'s bioelectricity in order to produce a shield over Thor's body that provides a first layer of defense before the actual nano-skin.

Anti-Gravity Belt: Thor's belt produces a gravity altering field around his body enabling him the illusion of flight. Furthermore, this field can extend to anything he touches allowing Thor to lift objects above his head that he normally wouldn't be able to.

Jet Boots: Thor's boots contain both fast burn thrusters for quick movements and long range propulsion thrusters to assist in flight.

Mjolnir: A manufactured hammer, Thor's Mjolnir contains it's own gravity altering field enabling it to appear heavier or lighter depending on what Thor desires. This also allows Thor to keep up the myth of only he being able to lift the hammer as the gravity field communicates directly with his gloves and if it's not in contact with him increases to ridiculous levels so that next to no one can pick it up. This gravity field is contained within the hammer thus it doesn't crush whatever it's sitting on top of. The hammer is also capable of stimulating the atoms in the air to unleash strikes of electricity and even super heat for bolts of plasma.

Tanngrisnir and Tanngnjóstr: Tanngrisnir and Tanngnjóstr are two orbs that circle around Thor. These orbs can be released into the atmosphere and stimulate it to create localized weather conditions such as thunderstorms, tornados, hail, fog etc.

Yeah I haven't actually taken any CS applications just yet. Been working on my truck the last couple days so I just wanted to toss an iCheck at everyone and see if enough people could get invested in the idea. I'm finishing my rear breaks this evening then I'll get a CS model typed up and an OOC and decide on who'll I'll rework myself.
