Hey guys! We're almost a full house, I think. Only Hatter's left to complete her character. I hope ya'll don't mind the slowness of the OC thread. This is the first time one of my more fleshed out RP's (as opposed to the generic like, fantasy, steampunk, fandom, etc.) has gotten enough attention to be pushed into the IC, and the first time I'm GM'ing one with such a stringent plot. Usually I gravitate towards the looseness of Sandboxish rps (which I may very well go ahead and make soon). Either way, I hope you guys don't mind if things get a little bumpy or slow at times :)

As long as we're moving forward I'll be good with any pace. I'm gonna go ahead and work on a post for Andrew and Wade now.

I've actually seen far more of the more "fleshed out" ideas actually succeed than I've seen of the "sandbox" type roleplays. They are harder to get off the ground, but once they are, they fly like an eagle ;)

CS is actually done. I finished it at school. Sadly, I didn't realize this and left my laptop at school like I usually do. I'll post it tomorrow :)

This just in and completely off-topic! I'm now obsessed with Shadow of the Colossus and need to find a way to play it. Also, its OST is gorgeous.

Kou Otani did the soundtrack to Shadow of the Colossus and is also known for doing the very pretty soundtrack to the anime Haibane Renmei if you're looking for even more of his work.

Wow, this is very ironic. Before I had checked this thread again, I had just found out about Shadow of the Colossus and was watching an awesome boss play through for it. I wanted to get it, but I just purchased KH 2.5, and, even used if its a used copy, I think I could use the money more conservatively. So unfortunately, no Shadow of the Colossus for me right now :(

I have a similar problem! I don't own a playstation of any kind, so I'm debating between buying one used or buying the game and messing with emulators until my eyes fall out. Yay!

Not gonna lie, messing with emulators sounds like a pain in the ass. But I'm not majorly tech savvy, so I wouldn't know! I would just go for the used Playstation. Colossus totally looked worth it, and for its age, its got some very pretty graphics. A few of the fights look very Legend of Zelda, and I think Twilight Princess may have actually drawn some inspiration from Colossus, but I can't be sure. As it was, a battle from Skyward Sword looked suspiciously similar to Colossus too, but it could also just be a coincidence. Either way, Colossus minimal plot also seemed super interesting. And horses. Any game where you can ride a faithful steed gets me.

On my side, there's also the fact that me and the sis wanna get a PS4...but, at present, we're both poor ass, jobless college kids, and we just don't feel right asking the 'rents for the money for it.

Ugh why does investing in your interests cost money? D:

Emulators can be a pain. Although there are a lot of more user-friendly emulators out there now than there was.

The horse mechanic is actually really really cool! Agro (the horse) is, oddly enough, the most realistically-rigged horse I've ever seen in a game. He moves exactly like a real horse, instead of just being a set of legs and a cylinder floating above them. He also acts like a real horse in that he can pull to one side or another, act on his own, and he doesn't follow every single command you give him. It's so in-depth!

As for the emulators, I figure it's worth a try anyway. If it doesn't work I can just find a used PS3.

@drewccapp I'm so incompetent I'm pretty sure I'd have trouble with the user friendly ones too :'(

@Obscene Symphony
He really is! I was surprised when I saw just how fluently he moved. They also gave his mane a very nice ripple effect...its kind of got this papery look to it that makes it look like flowing horse hair as opposed to stiff strands of straw billowing in the wind. But I had no idea he had some autonomy. I was watching a playthrough, wherein Wanderer was using his bow and arrow, and the horse was moving around, and I couldn't fathom what controls they must have implemented to allow the player to control both horse and character at the same time. But, now I know!

And good luck with the emulators. Hopefully you get through with it!

So, I'm eager to get into the swing of the plot, but we're still waiting on @The Mad Hatter. I'll wait out a little longer, but I may have to end up moving on. I don't mind big gaps, but I don't want the gaps to get to the point that the rp ends up dying.

Fair enough... I'm curious how our characters are going to interact with each other.
