Since the dawn of time, there has always been a struggle between the forces of light and darkness. The eternal combat is ever present, defining even the very material of existence itself and allowing it to "be." Since the theoretical Big Bang, it has never stopped. The give and take of energy between the two give possibility to motion, to order... to consciousness. Neither side can ever be allowed to be completely destroyed for what then would be left? Only the void...

Ten years have passed since the last time humans and vampires could ever be spoken of as friends, and even then the relationship had been tenuous. The mercy shown to the immortal races had only proven to have been a mistake, for as soon as the blood drinkers had grown strong enough in number and power, they proved once again their true nature and reached greedily for world domination. Millions of people and thousands of vampires died. They would never again be trusted.

Now, in modern times, vampires were blatantly hunted. Extermination of their curse on humankind would still take years, but at least now, no one would shelter them any longer. Once feared and renowned oldbloods were on the same menu as their progeny. Uprisings were dealt with with cold, hard force, using advanced technology, weapons, and machines. Vampires could not be allowed to create armies or gather into bloodthirsty warbands any longer. Research was actively being conducted to create a biological weapon against vampires and to potentially reverse the curse, but none so far had been successful. Most human cities were safe during the day and patrolled at night, but other parts of the country were known to be extremely dangerous, especially at night. humans were generally armed and wary nowadays, so feeding wasn't easy. Hunger caused many vampires to take suicidal risks. It was only a matter of time before the swarming mass of human population swallowed the last remnants of immortal blood.

---

It was broad daylight in the middle of summer when a man with long black hair rode in on a motorcycle to Oklahoma City. He wore a long leather jacket, jeans, boots, and a faded t-shirt with the words "In God we trust" on the front. He looked Latino, or maybe half Asian because of his hair, and he was fit and broad shouldered like a military boy. The bike had a few guns, nothing expensive, and a locked black metal case.

The city had been the site of a great battle less than a year ago, where ranks of vampires had been decimated by the heroic and increasingly popular Purge and a few other 'sidekick' organizations. Word had it that this was now a prime recruiting ground for the human resistance, the perfect place for a stake out. As much as Mithias hated it, it was time to play theater.

A coat of natural-tone color painted his skin to be more human, and dark contact lenses kept his flashy irises out of sight. Morning was the preferred time for travel, so nothing seemed out of the ordinary. No police pulled him over to check his tags as he pulled up to the church meeting place. He parked his bike with a look at the surrounding humans that informed them of the consequences of stealing his shit. The few outside gave him a welcoming nod. Today was the day of a scheduled, semi-secret mass meeting, according to a flyer he had gotten a hold of only several days ago. Mithias approached the church and noted the Purge symbol spray painted on the side of the building.

For an immortal, it felt as if no time had passed at all, yet, the world was almost unrecognizable. The only constant was the fact that no matter what happened to it, the world would always be a strange place to a vampire. The comforts of the past would never again be known to them. War and trauma were their only familiar friends.

His vampire forces had been scattered over the years. Bedivere hadn't showed up since Kilo Point. Mohowauuk was nowhere to be seen, nor was Magnus. The human, Martin, was reportedly dead much to Mithias' regret. The fledgling Ashilyn had also vanished, but a few of her progeny were still among the more powerful fledglings yet clinging to sovereignty. The only being Mithias had been able to keep in tough with was Hank, and he would be the only one that would know of Mithias' ridiculous and semi-desperate plan.

Approaching the entrance, his disguise intact, the vampire encounters two large doormen who non-nonchalantly step in his way. "Hail brother." They say.

"Hail brother." The vampire replies, his small silver cross apparent over his shirt.

The two pad him down for weapons, then wave him by. Mithias got in. he really didn't need weapons anyway. Now it was time to learn first hand what in hell these humans were smoking. By posing as a potential recruit, modern makeup hiding his skin's true color, Mithias would be able to see what went on underground that kept the Purge supplied with soldiers.

He went inside, the aura of the church doing nothing to him, thankfully. Images of Jesus and the divine hero Kaminokage adorned the back wall. A set of stairs spiraled downward into a large, lighted atrium. The ceiling arched up in back to an open window, where the sunlight streamed down dramatically to the center stage. People were gathered around. priest swung an incense burner around the stage and another occasionally flicked the audience with water. Mithias would make sure to stay out of his reach. An orator stopped up, beginning an inspiring sermon, if you could call it that, which incited many unified "Amen's" from the gathering.

"Who among you has not sinned? Who among you has not suffered? All who give their life in worship shall be forgiven! It it God who has plagued you with the vampires. You must believe in him! God will grant you the strength... Show your worth and fight!" On he went. men, women, and even the young looked up and cheered, lifting their hands, partaking in the ritual. Yet of course some where more reluctant. The sermon seemed to be harsh, demanding, cut and dry, and certainly terrifying to a vampire.

Throughout the spectacle, Mithias kept a watchful eye. Something was mesmerizing these humans, yet he did not see any drugs being passed out. No needles, no gas, no pills being passed around. Was it sheer inspiration that was making them so insane? Simple fanaticism? Not even in the days of the Templar did Mithias see such universally extreme self sacrifice. Mithias couldn't detect anything by air, yet it was like they all had a chip in their heads. he pulled up his hood and stood in a row of men in the back.

Then the surprise came. A vampire, weak and wounded, was brought in, tied to a post that was erected on the stage. The speaker went on about the devil and his children and pressed a cross against the poor bastard, letting all behold the dramatic burn. He was spat on, cursed, forced to endure the sunlight, and people one after another came up to the stage to burn him with their holy icons. They'd burn him alive, right here, this day.

"...you must begin your training now. To turn your back is to accept death and eternal hell. His grand holiness, the Pope himself, will come to bless you..."

Now that was an interesting piece of information. This "Pope" must have been a very important leader.

Out of the corner of his eye, Mithias caught a man trying to leave. Two bouncers in shiny shoulderplates got in his way and pointed him back inside. Certainly that wasn't the wise way out. Mithias could probably blur past them, but he didn't have his answers yet. he needed to know where this goddamned leader was.

As the vampire suffered, Mithias narrowed his eyes. He was going to have to watch him die.

Tony

Tony seen just about everything, Humans fighting over stupid shit, vampires fighting for power, an apocalyptic like war, humans and vampires fighting side by side, and now a nationwide manhunt for anything that even resembled a supernatural being. What he thought he would never see is a vampire be scared of humans, That vampire he saw on the stage... Had the same look those Marines had when he was in recovery after the Airport massacre. Only the vampire knew what was going on, we didn't. That didn't change how Tony felt about the situation.

Tony stood and watched the execution, he had seen many things within his time... But nothing quite like this. He half wanted to go on that stage and flash his military intelligence badge with his .38 special drawn. He would prefer the Beretta but there was no smuggling that one in. But he knew in this state there was nothing he could do, Only add to the body count.

Tony had gotten word from Hank that they needed to meet, Hank implied a fight may take place. Tony could fight, though he had limits. This time the limit was six bullets against an army. Someone tried to leave, That didn't really work. Hank was still nowhere in sight, what was that asshole doing that he was desperate enough for his help? Sure Tony could fly, But Hank knew plenty of people who could fight. Then again how many could he trust that survived the war?

Tony attempted to sneak his way into one of the back rooms well the execution was taking place. Not only to avoid having to watch, he needed to know what was going on with Hank. One way or another Tony was going to know what was going on.

Tony worked his way into the basement with his .38 drawn. He eventually found a long hallway with doors lining both sides, and one solid door at the end of the hallway. Tony sighed. "Yes Moore, go into the room that is likely the cultist torture room, Sounds fun right?"

Hank

Hank had his own agenda in this war, Yes he hated vampires, But he knew how much humans liked to... Manipulate things. He just tried to do the right by his books, That normally meant killing the worst of both sides. He finally got some information on Purge, enough that he needed to do something. Step one, learn what kind numbers they had, Hank knew it was a lot so onto step two. Who is the snake head? And if they were to fall who would take his place?

Hank made his way to the meeting place, he could feel all the warm bodies inside. He was hoping one was Moore, He wasn't the best of fighters but he was brave enough to help Hank with anything. And the only person Hank could trust that he was able to make contact with. Then he heard them. "Freeze!"

Hank turned around slowly, it was easy to tell he was a vampire, Hank was bad at hiding it. He saw two guards, Both armed with Semi-automatic rifles. Though they were dressed strange. They wore heavy neck braces like that on a bomb squad uniform, though they were wearing light armor. Hank was pretty sure he was smelling silver bullets in their guns too. He would guess hunters, Though the armor is amateur, and the gear is too expensive. Hired guns it seems, Or cultist. Either way in experienced.

Hank smiled. "You're doing it wrong." He began to charge, then he stopped. Pain started to fill his head, his ears felt like they were going to burst. Hank recognized what was going on, he has a similar setup on his RV years before. He attempted to use it when fighting Mithias for the first time. Frequency transmitter, though the one hank had was much larger and took time to warm up. This just kicked in, Hank remembered the basic concept, the transmitter would transmit a frequency so low only vampires (And in some cases dogs and wolves) could hear it. then once on the set frequency the volume would spike causing severe brain damage. The noise stopped but by this point Hank was down, he was only awake long enough to see a third guard with a hand held version of the device.

Hank woke up sometime later, maybe hours maybe minutes, he wasn't sure. What he was sure of was the bodies were still close, and he was in a room with three humans and a lot of blades that he was pretty sure were silver. "Wakey wakey sleepy head." The closest said to him well probing his head with a stick.

Hank glared. "You touch me with that stick again I will take it, and stab you with it." The man just looked at Hank, then poked him in the face with the stick. "Oops." he said. Hank was about to reply when he started to smell it, Burning flesh. Not human though.

Hank was pissed now. "You let me out now I promise it will be only me you have to deal with, and I will make your deaths fast. If you don't my allies will come in through that door over there..." Hank pointed his head at the door And they will let me go so I can, and will kill everyone I see very violently." The man laughed at Hank. "You and what army Dracula? Because we have one, And we plan to use it to kill each and every one of you fuckers."

A thud came from the door, Then another, then another. The other two guys grabbed their guns and took aim, The one talking to hank looked confused. "What the hell?"

A young man burst through the front door with his badge showing and a personal defense revolver drawn. "U.S. Naval Intelligence! Drop your weapons and surrender now!" Hank sighed looking at Tony. "You are a special kind of stupid aren't ya?" Tony just stood their for a moment, soon realizing he was out numbered and outgunned. "...Well dammit."

37th Floor, Yamada Building, Kyoto, Japan

Adam stared out the black tinted windows and down below the streets that flooded with humans going about their daily business, none-the-wiser about their impeding fate. Adam smirked gleefully as he tossed a baseball between his hands and returned his focus to the board meeting that was taking place at the conference table behind him, which was populated by Asian men in their late fifties all wearing business suits. – Putting Adam’s shirt and jeans combo out of place.

Adam waltzed over to the table and sat in his executive chair and resting his feet on the table top, still passing the ball to himself – much to the annoyance of the members of the board.

“My apologies, please continue.” Adam said, naïve of any wrong doing. The chairman then stood up, report in hand, clearing his throat to press on from where he had left off.

“Y-yes… now, as we know, thanks to much of Mr. O’Neal’s efforts, we are now the major supplier of every state hospital around the world, helping to save lives and money for the less fortunate, while at the same time increasing our profits by 62% this year alone.”

There was a mandatory clapping session directed towards Adam, who before he could give some kind of ‘I couldn’t do it alone’ speech, which would have been a lie, the office room phone rang and was put on loudspeaker.

“Mr. O’Neal, your ten o’clock his here.” A female voice announced, her voice sterile and devoid of emotion.
“Please, send him up.” Adam called as he looked at the chairman with what passed for apologising eyes.

They all knew what it mean and without question they collected their papers and left the room. One or two muttering some homophobic phrase under their breath which Adam could hear perfectly as if it had been spoken directly to him. But he simply smiled, mostly because normally on a Friday there would be some truth to the remark, but not today, he was far too busy with other matters.

Pushing past the men was a much younger man – perhaps nineteen or so. The type that would run a small bakery r something on a city street. However this human was far more than he seemed. Adam placed his left hand on his face, wishing that Jamie could conceal his excitement just by a tiny bit. But before he could look back up, Jamie had tackled Adam with an overzealous hug which almost knocked him out of his seat. Adam just sighed.

“I got it.” Jamie whispered into Adam’s right ear, leaving his neck purposely exposed.

Oh god, how much he wanted to sink his protruding fangs into that perfect neck. The desire became so intense that Adam’s eyes glazed over. He was defiantly just using Jamie, but that didn’t mean that he couldn’t have a bit of fun with him.

But he stopped.

Adam’s eyes returned to normal and place his hand on Jamie’s chest, pushing him away to talking distance. Jamie gave a disappointed expression. – Had he gone too far? But Adam reassured him with a smile.

“So you got it?” Adam asked. Jamie’s eyes widened with shock, he had completely forgotten the reason he was here in the first place and rushed to the end of the table, taking out his tablet. Pressing a few keys and swiping across the screen – causing a 3d projection of the globe to display in the centre of the table. The diagram showed various coloured lines that dashed across the ocean and into ports all across the world.

“So these are Purge’s main shipping lines, correct?”

“Yes, I have even sent you with the specifications of the style containers they use.”

“It looks as if my plans are finally coming together, within forty-eight hours the building of my utopia will begin.”
Adam stood up and grabbed Jamie from behind in a loving embrace.

“I want you to stay with me for the next few days, I can’t imagine what would happen if you are caught in the chaos. And for your hard work, it looks like you’ll be on top tonight.”

An Alarm Sounded inside the Project Freelancer Facility. a voice came over the loud speakers. 'All Agents report to hangar for briefing. Thats Agents, Florida, Carolina, Washington and York to Hangar for Mission Briefing' Katya sat on her bed staring at her helmet. It had been 2 years since the fall of her former employer SOLDIER had dissolved and become more or less nothing. She had managed to keep up with a few of the Task Force members from SOLDIER, most had gone their separate ways and gone into other Lines of work. Some now worked with the Purge, Some became Contract Killers but two of the Organisations best 3 Operatives were snatched up by Project Freelancer. Freelancer had began as a simple armour Company just after the Purge had won the war. However after realising the potential behind their armour project the Director decided that it was best to become a sort military Military. he had intended it to keep the vampires at bay however after his wife was killed by a Purge member for being classed a threat, he vowed to Destroy everything about the purge. Katya stood up and made her way out of her room. on her way out she grabbed her katana, that stood sheathed leaning on her desk.

“Sir, is this wise? I mean, what if you’re captured? This is a violation to the treaty.”

“Relax, I just want to see this prototype power armour they are producing.”

“Well at least let me go through the extraction plan.”

“There won’t be a need for an extraction plan. I will slip in then out again. – Just watch me.”
The radio then cut off.

Respirator breathing filled the elevator shaft as Director Baxter abseiled down by his feet at a constant speed, his visor scanning the shaft for any entry points. In his helmet ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ by Guns and Roses was playing. After a few floors he found what he was looking for. Pressing his mask the doors wined open and Baxter swung himself through them, disconnecting from the rope as he did so, striking a pose. A small round of applause came from his radio, clearly his operator was impressed.

Down the hall way were two guards and Baxter quickly entered the utility cupboard before they spotted him, he looked around for anything that he could use. His attention stumbled upon a cardboard box and he pondered for a moment.

‘Don’t be silly that’ll never work’ He said to himself as he left the room, pulling out both of his pistols and firing shock darts into the guards’ necks, only rendering them unconscious. He then floated down the hall to check for any oncoming guards. When the coast was clear he then searched for some access point and placed a small device onto it.

But then the alarms began to sound.

“Urr... Command. About the extraction plan?”

On her way down to breifing Katya witnessed 2 guards slump to the ground as though they had been shot. she quickly put her helmet on and readied her weapon. she ran over to the 2 guards. Thank god. they still had a pulse. she readied her weapon again. someone or something had to have attacked them. she checked her motion sensor. there was one small red dot on it but it wasnt moving. she hit the communicator button on the side of her helmet. "Florida, Wash. get your asses down to corridor 1A near the hangar. we have a Level 6 Security breach. 2 guards are unconsious." she said into her communicator."Alright Shit head. i know your around here so why dont you come out and Fight."

Baxter come round the corner with his hands above his head, clenched.
“Now that is no way for a fine lady such as yourself to be speaking now. How about I take you to Al’ Fonso’s and we have a meal together?” Baxter’s voice masked through his VOX speaker.

‘How we doing with that extraction?’ He muttered into the radio, cutting off his external comms.

‘Working on it sir.’ Command replied.

Baxter begun walking towards Katya, accessing her armour and combat abilities. His movements were calm and precise, he was no stranger to this kind of situation before and he was weighing up several possible escape routes.

"As you wish..."

Baxter released his hands and down dropped a small silver canister that began to spray out a sparkling mist. - Silver Nitrate. Within seconds the entire corridor was filled with the smoke and Baxter ran back towards the open elevator doors, pressing the button. The issue was that any electronic device in tactical helmets were rendered useless making tracking with them near impossible and so he had to judge the drop distance of the elevator.

With a leap of faith he jumped, grabbing hold of one of the cables and began to be lifted up by it.

Soon after Baxter ascended a few floors the elevator suddenly stopped prematurely. His visor was still disrupted by the silver nitrate and so he had to do things the old fashioned way. Opening his satchel he planted a blob of plastic explosive on the door nearby and detonated it. He leapt through the small hole, nearly falling back down the shaft and stumbled to his feet.

"Next time I'll take the stairs." He said but as he turned round he realised that he was in the barracks level of the facility.

"Ah crap."

Baxter took the punch to the face and used the momentum to break free from Wash's grips of his coat, sliding round whilst drawing his pistol and pointing it at him.

"God damn that hurt." He yelled. "But sadly you've just lost."

"I'm just the maintenance guy. You have a leak." Baxter remarked as he jumped to his left, firing at the nearby water pipe bursting it with an electro-dart, causing the water on the floor to have a charge to it.

Nevada Desert
The sun scorched the sands below it, not a single gust of wind blew. All was quiet until a full mobilized army tore through it. – Gunships ripped across the skies accompanied by dropships carrying mech units harnessed to their back cargo sections. Under them racing at full speed was a series of battle tanks and armoured troop transports.

“Attention all forces, Class-D Wolf pack has been detected. Full lethal force has been authorised.” A dispatcher sounded across all open channels.

The HIVE military force stopped outside a small cave entrance. The dropships deployed their mechs and troops go into position.
Commander Knight stepped out of his own transport and admired the efficacy of his men. While he was disheartened that they weren’t hunting vamps, a Class-D Werewolf Pack couldn’t go unnoticed.

Loaded with what looked like a flare gun, Knight aimed it at the entrance of the cave.
“Everyone get ready. The party’s about to start.” Knight called over the radio.
Once all the troops raised their weapons, Knight fired into the cave with the flare. But once it entered the chasm it exploded with glittering silver. It didn’t take long for the rumbling to begin.

Soon a hoard of werewolves, howling in pain rushed through the entrance. They were quickly met with a volley of ballistic fire and small arms fire. The bodies quickly piled up.

After five minutes of continuous fire there were no signs of hostile fire – well that’s what they believed anyway. But they were gravely mistaken.
The ground began to rip and tare. Soon a gigantic white beast rose, picking up tanks and throwing them at the gunships that attempted to intercept it. One of them was struck by the oncoming debris and crashed into a cluster of men.

But still the men held their resolve. Knight moved into a more offensive position, unleashing a silver nitrate flare into the beast, the resulting explosion caused the particles to scatter around him, leaving his advance sensors useless, however with a target this size they weren’t needed. The silver dazed the titan-wolf as they had been referred to by HIVE soldiers and stopped its unusually rapid healing ability.
“Fire the rail rifle!” Knight ordered.

“Yes sir!” A voice called over the radio and a blue men crouched down onto all fours and a rifle extension began to slide out and charge.

“Firing in 3…2…1… RAIL AWAY!” The pilot shouted as an ear shattering blast filled the area and a condensed energy blast shot a twenty inch hole in the titan-wolf’s chest.

It took some time for the forces to reconsolidate but after accessing their losses compared to that of the enemies, it was fair to say that today was a victory.

Project Freelancer Facility

Baxter stood up, watching that he didn't touch the water and ran towards the stair case.

"Sir, this just in. Knight and his team encountered a Titan-Wolf and neutralised it." The operator spoke, meaning that his devices were starting to work again. And while he was happy about the other mission's success, he had to get out of here.

Baxter ran up the stairs and into what would be the lobby.

Florida heard the alert, though he was a distance from where it was called. He grabbed his helmet and his sidearm, His rifle was still back at his Barracks. He could hear the commotion over the comm-links, Things were bad, really bad. Who ever this guy was, he knew was he was doing.

Florida waited in the lobby with his M4A1 in hands, He saw Baxter come up the stairs only to meet Florida. "Well well well. You come into my base, attack my team, and you thought you could just walk out of here?" He chambered his rifle. "You're dead wrong mate. Dead fucking wrong." He took aim with his rifle and unloaded the high capacity magazine at Baxter forcing him into cover.

Florida stopped shooting. "I'll give you two options, Come out now and I wont kill ya, Come out later I will be forced to beat the shit out of you and then maybe kill you." He fired another burst from the rifle behind his own cover. "Decide soon mate."

as the Silver Nitrate finally cleared up from the corridor, Katya turned he comms back on. "anyone got a Visual on that Fucker." she said following the route that he had taken out of that corridor. climbing out of the elevator shaft she noticed that Wash was lying unconscious in a pool of electrified water. the electricity was coming from the same type of dart she had earlier pulled from the guards necks. she took aim at the art and fired causing it to overload and cease to work.
