Spencer's driving was horrendous, and she found herself making sure to check on the younger members of their party while simultaneously glaring daggers at the back of the hyper-active driver's head. If looks could kill, she could have probably killed Spencer a thousand times over. That was, until Cash brought out a porn mag.
"Whats the matter dear? Are you disappointed that i am giving this magazine more attention then you"
“Don't hold your breath on that one, you'll die of asphyxiation. Like one of those turkeys looking up into the rain. Be a damn embarrassing sight for you, I'd almost feel bad.” She retorted to his comment, hopping out of the jeep when it finally came to a stop at the camp and stretched her muscles. She didn't feel the need to try to yank the porn mag away from the youngest member of their group, the vagabond named Punch they had recently picked up and had been taking care of. If the magazine, no matter how inappropriate, motivated the child to read, it would be better than denying him it. It would be an important skill to have if they could manage to get their world back from the monsters that had been created. She held out hope for it, anyway.
“Don't make lewd insinuations towards the females of our group,” She pointed at Cash, then rounded on Spencer.
“Your driving is quite possibly the worst I've ever seen, I'm done letting you chance our lives. Ved will take over next time, no discussion.” She didn't wait for a reply from either of the men before walking over to Yuki, and looking down at the girl.
“Yuki, mind taking a look at the jeep? Make sure nothing is broken?” Her voice was less harsh with Yuki than it was with the men. Being one of the few people there with any sort of mechanic experience, save perhaps Ved, made Yuki an integral part of making sure things ran smoothly and that their group didn't suffer horrific deaths because of a faulty break – which was now a very likely possibility, considering the way Spencer had been driving.
She ran her fingers through her raven-black hair, and glanced about the camp while waiting for Yuki to reply. There were so many things to take care of – so many things to check – that it seemed staggering. They had, or rather she had, set traps around the camp to alert them if anything was coming. Simple traps, fishing line with bits of metal attached that she had strung up between trees. If any of them were broken or displaced, they'd know that something – or someone – had been in the area recently. Precaution was everything, now that even the simplest of insects could chomp their body's in half with a single snip of their mandibles. Then there was food preparation. Her stomach rumbled, but she ignored it for now.
