Monsters - once considered one's fantasy of imagination, turns out to be bone-touchingly real! Several years ago, the world learned that harpies, centaurs, catgirls, and all manners of fabulous creatures are not merely fiction but in fact flesh and blood— not to mention scale, feather, horn, and fang. Thanks to a series of laws, monsters now live alongside us humans in society, or at least try to.
There are several laws that keep people and monsters alike on good terms, but two are to be most noted:
1). A human cannot harm a monster.
2). A monster cannot harm a human.
However, what happens when people and/or monsters happen to break the law? Or any other law for that matter? And what happens if these guys happen to have supernatural powers and cause not only the disturbance of peace throughout the area but also the ENTIRE WORLD? Then swipe away the police force, or even the military, because there is only Squad that can deal with such threats.
The Human-Monster Superhero Squad!
Comprised of both super-powered heroes and monsters, with their main headquarters in Tokyo, Japan, these protectors are the only ones able to combat and defeat supervillian crime and protect the Earth from threats of all shapes and sizes in a legal fashion!
Now YOU get to pick to be a monster and/or a human and take the fight to them! Are you ready to battle?
Rules are like in any regular RP ever:
1). No godmodding - Godmodding is when a character features god-like abilities, such as invincibility or mind control, or other unrealistic powers that don't fit with lore. It's also considered godmodding to refuse death in fights or ignore role-players in scenarios in which said role-players are attempting to attack you. Nobody's good at everything; try and keep yourself in check.
HOWEVER, permission is granted for a person to god-mod, IF ONLY THE PLAYER OF SAID OPPONENT HAS BEEN INACTIVE FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME WITHOUT NOTIFYING ME OR ANYONE ELSE (otherwise, wait until they return or talk with them how to go about the battle). With that power in a depending situation, your character is allowed to escape, but NOT TO KILL THE OPPONENT. Only if the player is banned from the RP, then can you consider killing the opponent.
2). No metagaming - Metagaming is where a player's character makes use of knowledge that the player is aware of but that the character is not meant to be aware of.
3). No Autohit/walk/etc - Autohitting is when a player performs an action without giving the affected players a chance to respond. For example, running up to somebody and saying *Stabs in the heart* then running off would be autohitting. Auto also applies to non-combative actions to which another player might have a reaction. Saying, *The black knight slips past the guards and into the castle,* while white knights are guarding the entrance to the white knight's castle would be autowalking on the premise that, in all likelihood, those knights would stop you before you got past them. This can easily be fixed with a simple rewording. Add "tries to" or "attempts to" to clarify that your character intends to perform said action, but his success depends on the responses of those around him.
4). No powerplaying - Powerplaying occurs when a player operates someone else's character without the other player's consent. The most blatant example of this would be a player writing, "Your character falls off the cliff when he walks up to it." As you can see, you take active control of what the other character does. Not only is this not fair to the other player, but it's also discouraged because often players will misconstrue the behaviors and personalities of characters they didn't design. Powerplaying goes into more subtle situations, however. Saying, "Sally charges Jack so fast that he wouldn't be able to react enough to avoid it," can also be considered a violation of this rule since Sally's player has controlled Jack's abilities, possibly in a way that doesn't accurately represent his character. The appropriate way to word Sally's attack would be, "Sally charges Jack so fast that it's unlikely he could totally dodge it without equally inhuman speed." This leaves it up to Jack's player whether or not Jack is actually capable of avoiding Sally.
A non-example: *Rex walks up to Jewel and moves to plant a kiss on her. Rex's rich, masculine musk overcomes Jewel so powerfully that she has no control over herself and kisses back.*
5). No mary-sues - Basically, don't make your character perfect.
6). As a Superhero that is part of the Human-Monster Superhero Squad, you must keep in mind with the laws, most particularly in the ones in the into. Like Monster Musume, a human character cannot harm a monster character or the other way around (if one does get caught, he/she will be put as a criminal). But a human harming another human or a monster harming a monster is fine.
Supervillains are villains so they get to do whatever they want. :P
7). The GM's word is law, meaning Lmpkio's word is law! To those who have severely failed to follow one of the guidelines, each are given two warnings. If you happen to do it again the 3rd time, then you're banned from this RP. However, if one accidentally makes a small hiccup in their post, please kindly remind them to change their post to the appropriate change. Warnings are given out for those who have severely broken the rules (heck, I've even done that to some of my rules back in the early days).
8). Please try to post at least 1 or 2 good paragraphs in each post. Of course, more is always highly appreciated.
9). If you have any questions regarding the RP or any complaints, feel free to ask me via PM.
10). The list above can be changed at anytime, but I will publicly announce so in the OCC if I decide to do so.
11). And most importantly... HAVE FUN!
(Secret recommendation: Try to keep the RP in a lighter tone like in Monster Musume and Marvel, and try to keep the darkness balance in check.)
