Notable NPCs:
Johto's resident Pokemon professor. A kindly old man who loves Pokemon.
Professor Elm's timid but organised young assistant. He wants nothing more than to be a Pokemon professor when he grows up, just like his granddad… who also happens to be his boss.
A charismatic businessman who loves Pokemon. Currently is said to be researching why the Pokemon have suddenly gone feral.
Yuu is a fairly handsome boy standing proudly at a height of 6'2", with a weight of 178 pounds. He has a slightly pale complexion, and has the appearance of a rather lanky and slightly frail boy. However, he is rather well built much to most peoples surprise, being caught off guard by a "weak" appearing trainer others can usually assault. He is fairly confident in both body, spirit, and battle which often leaves him in a cheerful mood with a confident bona fide smile.
The boy sports uncombed, messy hair which he doesn't bother to brush, even though he carries around a hairbrush. One of the most notable facets is his naturally tinted lavender hair which sort of runs in the family, mainly from his mothers side with their unusual hair colors. There are a few dark streaks in his hair which came from him dyeing the roots a blackish hue which has slightly faded. Another well known part of his guise is his violet iris' which are rather piercing to say the least. They have a strange semblance, one of which is a mix of bleak anguish and hopeful spirit embedded within.
Although he doesn't actually have a particular taste for fashion, his usual getup features a blue jacket with feather-like tufts, a green tank-top, beige pants, and stylish black shoes (shown wearing). He also has a white jacket with weird ear-like things on the hood, a blue striped pull-over, and blue pants. He also sports a green jacket with a few other dapper clothes on him in his inventory that he can adorn himself with. He also seems to love three different colors the most, and will generally react to such things in a positive way.
Personality:
A confident boy who approaches everything with a upbeat, never say die attitude who keeps moving on forward, undaunted by almost any ordeal or task presented to him. A boy with a serene mind that doesn't mind taking his time to smell the roses, but know when it's time to haul out. He is very assured of his own abilities, to the point where he walks into a battle with a simple genuine smile for his opponent to show he isn't at all disgruntled nor taken back. He also showcases a friendly persona of sorts to others, often those without any sort of tenacity inside them. Yuu will cheerful urge them onwards, no matter what the circumstances are. He states that he wishes to challenge the league to prove himself as the best trainer in Johto, putting emotion into such thought.
He can be considered too bold from time to time as he is extremely stubborn and what others can consider cocky. He never turns tail and run from a challenge presented before him and swears that he will tear it to shreds with his talents. Sometimes this leaves him blinded as he tumbles toward a new challenge, unaware of what is to come until its too late. Even with this setback, he will figure out a way out for anyone with him to get out of a really abhorrent situation, even if it hurts him in the end. If he loses to these challenges, depending on what they are, he will put on a false smile with sheer animosity against himself for messing up, or anger for endangering the lives of others.
However, this is caused from rooted troubles ingrained within his soul, he is troubled by going to sleep from time to time. He shows an almost innate discountenance when around dark times, and a deep-seated fear of one specific pokemon. What he also truly is afraid of the most is losing people and pokemon he sincerely cares for, valuing them above all, and mostly himself. This is in due part to his sister being currently ensnared in an everlasting nightmare along with a few others due to an organize overaggressive pokemon attack. Yuu will not hesitate to inject himself into the episode to dispel any misery the victim is absorbing and will help them endure it by taking it instead. Usually when the situation is dire, he will go to such outrageous plans that mainly end up in him being harmed. Although he will sometimes welcome help in such times, he will make sure no one is defiled before and after the outcome.
History:
"All I can remember are those ten years when it all started... Sister, can you remember what it was like? Walking alongside such wonderful beings only to lose touch with them? You remember, right? It's so strange how it all started, and now..."
"Hey, do you remember-"
Ever since his childhood, Yuu and his older sister have been always interacting with wild pokemon with their parents who were former trainers. They often imagined the whimsical adventures their parents traveled on as they painted livid words. His father is a business man who constantly moves around with his family from region to region do to working alongside myriads of companies. His mother was a former contest star who's name has been lost among the countless stars who participated in such displays. Although they didn't have such a huge connection to their dad, most of their time was spent around their mother who cherished her two children dearly. She was always wild and created fun scenarios which her children and pokemon enjoyed.
Both children have seen and encounter different settings in their life ever since they were born, originally in Johto. They spent most of their younger years there, conversing and playing with children and their families before heading to another region at the age of five and seven in which the two tearfully said their farewells as they departed to another region. The boy recalled that it had to do with something involving the Devon Corporation, or something along the lines. Either way, he lived in a city that held a gym leader who recently replaced Roxxane. The duo attended trainer school to gain concurrent knowledge on what their father and mother had during their own tales they spinned, wishing to complete such an ordeal one day. He was picked by other students for his natural purple hair, however his mother and sister stepped in to help him during such times, bequeathing advice to him. Eventually he got over such a mundane thing and became unaffected by such hollow remarks, and they eventually stopped due to his positive responses.
During his seventh year after his family moved to another region, this time the Unova region, stories of pokemon attacks had been rising upwards. His family who had been surrounded by pokemon their entire life found themselves bemused with the sudden change in their calm behavior turning aggressive and becoming feral. It was almost hard to believe until they saw another human brutally thrashed after their pokemon was killed in front of them. Their children were lucky not to see it, but became terrified and wondered why such a thing could happen. After such a thing happen, they found themselves moving from region to region at a more frequent pace than usual. The two only had each other for this time and made many fleeting friendships that had yet to properly develop in the realm.
Eventually, after a great deal of time flew passed, they found themselves back in Johto, back in a contrasting building in a recognizable environment. Even with the professor living in the area, Yuu couldn't even find a single soul he used to identify, save for a familiar family with a newfound daughter he never saw before. This was a new slate in a way with a familiar palette, and he had to create a new life, especially once his sister embarked on her own journey, leaving him alone. It nibbled and nipped on him for a bit, but he found new friends during this brief amount of time when she left for a year. Even though it was all unfamiliar, fresh, he found his way and integrated himself into the mix, finding happiness amongst the crowds of students attending school. This fortune he was betwixt with was about to disperse into thin air as Misfortune flaunted her dress which made her look like a yellow rose.
"... No, I can't go through with this part of the tale... I just can't... I hurt you, and I'm so sorry... I hope you have the heart to accept my pleas for forgiveness after I return... I crippled you with this blight, so I would understand if you or the others hated me... but I'll never abhor you or the others."
"..."
"... anyways, I should be getting to bed now and stop reminiscting on the past with you as tomorows the big day... I hope you can see me coming back a different and better man after this journey once you've fully recuperated."
"Good night dear sister, I hope to see your dreams come true one day..."
"That's all I honestly wish Yasu."
Quirks/Habits/Other: - Yuu has a tendency to over-prepare for journeys, and often overdoes it when trying to procure items. As a result, he carries around more leftover items than he actually need. However, this can come in use when hanging around with other people. - Yuu isn't one to be taken back by certain situations, and often works to make the best of it, no matter how harsh the impending events are. He isn't one to be driven down into the dirt by a simple setback. - Yuu usually needs little to no sleep to be energized for the day ahead due to an unfortunate encounter. However, when he does need sleep, he will often slumber for hours on end with a slightly pained look on his face. - Yuu doesn't often go to his back up plans at times because they are usually drastic. However, when he does go to such dire actions, he will often fight in place of his pokemon, often being warranted as insane for doing so. - Yuu is considered to be physically fit and quite durable, despite his rather lanky appearance. He can easily hold out in a fight, whether it is between humans or pokemon. The latter has yet to be seen. - Yuu is actually quite afraid of dark types, specifically one that traumitized him and put his sister into an almost never ending nightmarish coma. If ever put face-to-face against said pokemon, he might as just tense up in sheer fear and animosity against the thing. He is very biased against this pokemon. - Yuu is shown to be incredibly loyal to others, and would go to the ends of the earth, er pokerealm for them. He swore an oath not only to win the pokemon league championships for his sister since he sort of got her into this predicament, but promises to find a way to bring her back from her coma. - Yuu is very hard to get riled up, making it hard to spot a mean bone in his body. He can be slightly set off, but only when it's for anothers sake. If pushed to the very brink, he will do whatever he can to make your life hell until satisfied. - Yuu will tap the bottom of his lip when faced with a certain predicament he can't find the answer to or when he demonstrates himself as extremely pressured or nervous. This habit extends over to going to drastic measures when he chooses to wager his life. - Yuu prefers to make direct eye contact with a person to make sure they are not only listening to the conversation, but to measure their confidence. - Yuu doesn't enjoying showing his true nature around others he doesn't know much about and is keen on hiding matters, unless it is very important and must be told at utmost haste. - Yuu is very competitive to say the least and prefers not to back down from any challenge issued to him by a trainer, no matter how worn out he is. Plus, he loves a good battle, however he discretely despises himself when he loses one, even if its against a good friend.

Name: Terra Gender: Female Level: 4 Ability: Sturdy Personality: Adamant Moves: Tackle, Defense Curl, Mud Sport
Theme:
TL;DR: A careful and determined boy who who believes that he is the cause of his sisters unfortunate fate which resulted in her falling into a nightmarish coma after her return to New Bark Town. He now works to defeat the pokemon league for both his sisters sake and his own while waiting for her to finally awaken; puts up a cool facade, but in reality is scared of losing or hurting more people due to any rash or careless actions. He also doubts his abilities as being a trainer from time to time.
Abigail is fairly tall, standing around a solid 5'7". Her natural skin color is usually quite pale compared to most other people. A rather striking feature, that a lot of people find rather attractive. Her feature she likes most, however, is her hair. Her long purple hair is usually tied back into a pony tail, though Cerise likes putting it in a braid whenever she asks her to style it for her for some occasion. Most people tend to notice her bright green eyes at first, however, much to her own chagrin. She hates the color green.
Despite her liking her hair, she doesn't particularly care so much about her appearance. Despite her mom being a bit of a fashionista, she's always taken after her father - an ex Private Investigator. She wears simple, but comfortable and easy to move in black pants.
Personality: Where to start with her personality? If one were to go by first impressions only, they would simply assume that she's a girl who thinks she's ten times better than everyone at everything. She will often state how much she doesn't like other people and do it quite loudly as well. Its the honest truth, to her. She thinks everyone else will slow her down. She doesn't like interacting with other people, even more so when its against her will. So this whole journey thing, is going to be...interesting, for her at least, since she find most other people quite annoying.
Unfortunately, 'friendship' is mostly a foreign concept to her and she had no idea how to even be friendly. Most often, she can only defaults to some sort of insult. Its not intentional, really, but more of a bit of habit than anything.
However, once she finally warms up to someone, they'll find a secret side to her that is surprisingly thoughtful, and a bit on the sweet side. That doesn't mean its any easier for her - in fact, she's quite nervous about being seemingly to be nice to people. Most often, they'll find her a stuttering and blushing mess, especially if said being nice involves some kind of physical contact, like say...a hug.
Think of her as a grumpy Tsundere cat that secretly likes being cuddled with~ xP
History: Abigail is originally from Kalos, growing up in the center of of the country - Lumiose. She was born to a mother who was a rather well known fashion designer, and her father who was a Private Investigator. For a time, she grew up there and was quite happy with her life. Well, happy to her in any case. Her parents, despite being rich didn't want to spoil their daughter so they made her work for almost anything she wanted. So, at an early age she developed a need to be the best at everything she worked at. Working harder yielded better rewards, no?
When she was around the age of six, her father and mother split - though she never understood why exactly. She moved to Johto with her father, and they settled down in the city of costal city of Olivine, where she spent the rest of the years growing up. Her father was a bit less lax on her being spoiled, but by now she had gotten it into her head she had to be the absolute best. Actually, no, she was the best and she wasn't going to let anyone tell her otherwise.
She graduated trainers school at the top of her class a few years later when she was 16. After that, she wasn't quite sure what to do with her life. Sure trainer school was promising and all, but she had never actually considered it as an actual career...but oddly enough, the allure of danger and adventure was just too good, despite the law stating travelling in pairs was necessary. So, she signed up for a license, and set off for Newbark Town.
Quirks/Habits/Other: - Surprisingly, likes eating a lot. Good food is just one way to get on her good side. Where it all goes...people don't know. - She's surprisingly strong for her size. Physical fitness was something her father also drilled into her. She still likes doing a light jog in the mornings, and waking up at the crack of dawn. - Do not mess up her hair. its the only thing she actively takes care of appearance wise. Mess it up, you will die. - has an interest in martial arts, but has never actually tried learning them.
Inventory: - Pokeballs x5 - First-aid kit, for minor scrapes and injuries (x1) - Extra clothes x2 (including pajamas) - Holo-caster, souvenir from Kalos. Works with older and other phones too, but no Hologram will be displayed unless it's communicating with another Holo Caster. - Hair-Care products, and various hair ties - Camping stuff. - Johto Map All stuffed into her shoulder bag, rather unorganized.
Pokemon: Nidoran. Gender: Male Name: Tyrian
Moves: Leer, Peck. Ability: Poison Point Lvl: 6
A highly curious, but overall friendly Nidoran. Often likes to mess with other pokemon, though, which can sometimes end with him getting in over his head.
battle Theme~ xP
TL;DR: A somewhat majorly Arrogant Tsundere, who really doesn't seem to like people, but secretly likes being cuddled with by people she likes. Her color is PURPLE
She has bright red hair, along with blue eyes along with fairly pale skin. She wears a black and white one piece dress that she designed, labeled, and put onto market herself. She takes great pride in at, and you'd probably do well not to insult it. Of course, most people in Kalos know better, but out here in the 'boondocks' like Johto, well...
She wears a matching black cap, along with black stockings and black boots. She wears a belt, though it is purely for fashion and utility purposes.
Personality: At first, Cerise would seem to be a friendly person, if a bit Aloof. She speaks very formally to most people, and is usually quite civil in her tone of voice, even to those she doesn't like - which is usually everyone. She hides her disdain for other people quite well, usually though, unless under extreme pressure or circumstances.
Under her calm and friendly, but aloof exterior...to put bluntly is a spoiled little princess who thinks she's better than everyone. She has no time for the 'common' folk, and she always looks after number one - herself. Arrogant and condescending, she really is not someone most people would want to associate with. As such, she has...well, problems making and keeping so called 'friends'. Because of this, she is quite the actress and can easily fool people into thinking she actually cares. In other words, she's quite the manipulative little girl. If given the chance, she would probably always choose herself over someone else - at least not without a lot of persuasion.
She believes herself to be the best - well, her and her best friend Abigail. The other Kalosian girl is probably the only one she would consider a friend. Her goal for the Journey? Well, unlike Abigail she had no illusions of grandeur for the Pokemon league. Honestly, she simply wanted to see her old friend again. After Abigail moved, the two kept in touch and often met if they could. The Adventure is simply and excuse to see Abigail again - and maybe get away from the pressures of being a country icon at the age of 16.
History: Similar to Abigail, she is the daughter of a rather well known Kalosian Businessman. He handled quite a number of legal affairs for the wealthy in Kalos. The Blanchett's just happened to be one of them. The two kids often played together, but unlike Abigail, Cerise took quite an interest in the Blanchett's fashion. It was when she was around five, that Abigail and her father moved to Johto, though the two kids parents often arranged for them to meet every now and then.
However, while Abigail was busy furthering her trainer abilities, Cerise was busy apprenticing under Abigails mother. She, unlike Abigail seemed to have a natural talent for fashion, and an eye for detail and design. She put it to good use, and by the time she was 15 she had produced her first clothing design, and luckily enough it as a hit with the people of Kalos.
For the already spoiled Cerise, this was only bigger boost to her ego.
Unfortunately, she started to crack a bit under the pressure. Her creativity spiraled and for half a year. she couldn't design anything. It was then, that she got a call from Abigail that she was going to be going on a journey and challenging the Pokemon league. Well, why not go as well?
She boarded the first flight she could book to Johto, and decided to meet up with Abigail in New Bark.
Quirks/Habits/Other: Tends to play with her hair a lot. Especially if she's trying to...eh...'persuade' a man.
Inventory: x5 pokeballs. Her hat Various fashion items. Holo Caster. Map of Johto. A few other miscellaneous items.
Pokemon:
Natu Name: runt Natu Gender: Male
Moves: Leer, Peck, Ally Switch Lvl: 5 Ability: Magic Bounce EXP: 50% to next level
A seemingly somewhat odd, but playful pokemon. He doesn't do much, other than stare at people unless spoken to or interacted with, then he's perfectly nice. Unless that person is cerise. He seems to love messing with her.
TL;DR: A manipulative, spoiled, brat who may or may not end up hurting more than she helps.
Hitting just about five foot ten, Sophia is a fairly tall woman. Her skin has the very faintest hint of a tan. She has a more slender build. She walks with a bit of a graceful bounce to her step, seemingly radiating joy. That joy even shows in her face. From her everlasting smile to her bright blue eyes, Sophia is just happy.
The girl tends to wear her blonde up in a ponytail, usually preferring a simple white scrunchie to keep things together. While she tries to keep herself looking presentable, she tends to gravitate towards safer outfits. Sophia, as of entering New Bark, was wearing a simple beige vest over a white short sleeved blouse with a blue skirt and around her neck was a green bow.
Personality:
There’s a bit of a calm that surrounds Sophia Rhodes, one that seems to follow her wherever she goes. While one might not say that she is the most energetic person around, she is wholeheartedly optimistic and quietly enthusiastic. She is proper and polite to a fault, always attempting her best to please everybody, even complete strangers. It is safe to say that she is rather comfortable in social situations. She just likes people in general. To be honest, it would take QUITE a bit to end up on her bad side. There’s a bit of a nurturing side to Sophia. She just wants to see her friends succeed and is willing to do anything to assist them.
Sophia, along with being rather social, is actually very intelligent and highly analytical, though being as humble as she is, would likely downplay it to a high degree. While being rather well versed in many subjects, is exceptionally drawn to Pokemon. She is utterly fascinated by them and is quite familiar with most of the major findings collected over few decades. It is that very fascination that lead the young lass to leave her home and embark on an adventure across her homeland. More specifically, it was the increase in Pokemon aggression. It was not out of want for the fortune or fame that she seeks the knowledge, rather, t’was simply a burning passion for knowledge.
Ms. Rhodes does not like conflict. Given a chance, she will most likely avoid it or search for another method of solving her problems. She is often taken advantage of for this, but Sophia takes it all in her stride. However, this rather poorly affects the girl’s abilities as a trainer. Logically, she should be able to quickly adapt to and counter a number of strategies. But she cannot seem to bring herself to bring others to danger. If there’s even a risk of a friend getting heart, she likely won’t take it. The well-being of her pokemon take precedent over something like winning anyday. If there is even a slight chance of finding a safer solution, she’ll find it. Due to this, if one were describing Sophia is just three words, they would likely mention kind, humble, and level-headed.
She lives up to these for the most part, but well…
Sophia is unfortunately a bit of a coward. Bravery wasn’t exactly gifted to her. Many things cause her to panic or lose her cool, including, but not limited to, spiders, heights, drowning, clowns, scarecrows, bugs, large bird pokemon, the dark, being alone, etc. And when she panics, Sophia finds herself unable to really do much. Rather than getting super hysterical, she tends to clam up, latching on to the nearest friendly soul and practically letting them drag her to safety. It’s worked for her thus far so...
History:
The young miss Rhodes hails from Blackthorn City, the fourth and last child, along with the only daughter, of the man behind both the largest mining operation Johto has ever seen and a rather ambitious logging operation near Azalea, the former General Arthur Rhodes IV. Growing up, she didn’t want for much, as Mr. Rhodes took great pride in providing for his family. Though he had three sons whom he loved dearly, Sophie took a special place in his heart. Her upbringing included the finest education his money and prestige could find, one that while putting great emphasis on proper etiquette when conducting all facets of daily life, also included a very deep and diverse curriculum of scholarly subjects.
Something that was not exactly covered, however, was Pokemon.
Arthur held a deep hatred for the creatures. It was his belief that the world would be just as fine if not better without them. Sophia, having no other real basis to judge them on, agreed wholeheartedly.
But being the curious lass that she is, she had her questions. And while her father’s answers satisfied her at first, as she grew older, she saw them as nothing more than empty words. So she turned her questions elsewhere. Her tutor. Manami Maki, a priestess of Violet City. The kind elder happily answered the lass’ questions, eventually opening her eyes to the wonders that Pokemon were capable of. She devoured any and all information she could get her hands upon, always wanting more. And eventually, she grew to learn all that Manami could teach her. So she took the next step.
She reached out to Professor Elm, via a letter. She sent them week after week, faithfully, until she finally got a response. She was ecstatic. She and professor continued writing for quite some time, her always set on her quest for knowledge, and he more than happy to share his life’s passion with any who would listen.
How troubling was it for young Sophia, then, when she learned that not even the renowned Elm could shed any light on the seemingly random shift in Pokemon of the region. When she expressed her frustration, the professor joked back that if she were so curious, then perhaps she should go on a journey for herself, to see if perhaps she could find the answer.
She took it to heart, and made perhaps the first impulsive decision of her life.
Without her family’s knowledge, Sophia acquired and fulfilled all prerequisites for her trainer’s license. Then, when the day grew near, she left her family home, leaving but a letter explaining her intentions to travel the land. She left out many of the details that might have made her plans TOO obvious, she just wanted to let them know that she would be fine, not give them a step-by-step guide on how to stop her, before fleeing in the night.
And despite it being a rather long and at times, terrifying, trip, she’s made it as far as New Bark without being caught, so that’s at least something, right?
Quirks/Habits/Other: Cowardly She is rather soft-spoken While she is in decent enough shape, she’s not particularly athletic Careful and considerate Relatively level-headed under stress Rather poor artistic ability Exceptionally neat handwriting Values cleanliness very highly
Inventory: Extra clothing Holo Caster A simple gray backpack Bedroll Basic camping gear Notebooks Various books on Pokemon An assortment of pens, pencils, and brushes
Pokemon: n/a (Yet! :D)
TL;DR: A kind, caring lass chasing the curious case of chaotic creatures.
Gwen’s a small chick. Small bones, small body, small everything. She reaches about 5'3ft if she stretches for it. She sports a small bob cut, longer in front, shorter in back. Her hair is naturally pale, but she's dyed a black strip on the left side of her head, and the lower half towards the rear has all been tar’d up.
Down from that would be her dark blue eyes. Or eye. Left eye, to be precise. Her right eye has a deep ‘X-shaped’ starting from the midpoint between her eyebrow and the eye itself, and ending about at her cheekbone. While the scar is rather old by this point, it still has a bit of a redness to it. Due to a damaged nerve, she is unable to open her right eye. Her vision in that eye is severely damaged anyway, so whatever.
She has a slender frame and thin limbs. If she’s out in public, she’ll usually be seen wearing a simple band-tee. If it’s cold, she’ll even add her pikachu hoodie, but not without mumbled complaints. And she almost always wears some kind of baggy jeans and tennis shoes.
Gwen is an amputee. Her left leg was amputated above the knee. Several deep scars remain from her accident. She uses a rather durable prosthetic to walk/bike/hike. She’s become quite adept at it over the years, and can walk rather naturally with it, though a close observer can still see she favors one leg over the other.
Personality:
Gwen is a strong, fiercely independent woman and a creature of impulse. She does what she wants, when she wants. If you like it, rad. If not? Well, sucks to suck. She despises pity and will gladly say so. She can come across as rather loud and abrasive but…
Well, no, there is no but. She will speak her mind on anything and everything if given the chance. Or even if she has to take the chance by force. She’s really not that picky in that scenario. That being said, she’s not one to actively incite conflict. She just won’t go out of her way to avoid it. Never been a shy kid, that much is for sure. Tyranny, however, pisses her off something fierce. It’s like Authority, something else she’s not fond of, but worse.
Stubborn. About as stubborn as a goddamn mule. With a mouth so filthy that she’d make a sailor blush to boot. Be in a good spirit for Arceus’ sake. She has a bit of a mischievous streak to her, and is likely to make quips about others. The girl likes to laugh. And she likes to make others laugh. So she does what she does. She’s not about to pull punches on someone or avoid something she finds particularly funny. It’s just not in her nature.
Gwen’s not exactly a goody goody. She’s not above lying, cheating, or stealing. Hell, she’d do any of the above just for the hell of it. But when there’s something she wants on the line? She gets it. By any means necessary.
She’s not incredibly quick to trust people, and when when she does, she still keeps them at arm's length. Friends are cool and all, but friends are still people, and people suck.
History:
She fell from the sky, and sank into the sea. Surely she’d have died, were it not for he. Gwen remembers little from her early years. The earliest she can recall is not from her own memory, but from her father, Big Papa Earl King’s own little story. He was the captain aboard a shipping vessel, heading from Sinnoh to Unova. It was a trip he had made countless times before and countless times after. But this one time had different, had been special.
On a day much like any other, Earl went about his duties. It promised to be a dull afternoon, even in spite of the wind picking up.
But the confused murmuring of his crew had stirred him from that delusion. The rowdy crew wasn’t so rowdy. Their lively jabs at each other had vanished. And Earl soon found out why.
“Is that a kid?!”
Somebody yelled, pointing toward the sky. Ridiculous, but Earl searched nonetheless. So imagine his shock when he saw a little girl, she couldn’t be a day over three years old if that, falling. She was going to hit the water and sink like a bunch of bricks. So Earl peeled off his shirt and cap and dove into the water, swimming out to where she would land. As luck would have it, he wasn’t the only with that idea. A member of his crew, a Mr. Garfield, had hit the water right as he did, and the two men quickly broke water.
The little girl did hit the water. Hard. And she did go under. Deep.
But the two men were there, and they quickly retrieved her and swam her back to the ship.
Once safe and dry, the Captain tried to get any kind of information from the girl, but mostly failed. He got her name from her though. Gwyneth, according to a tag inside of her tiny jacket.
Unwilling to just abandon the child, and not wanting to force the child onto any of his men, the Captain took the girl in as one of his own. His wife had passed without leaving him a child. It felt like fate.
And so the girl lived with the Captain. The Captain lived in Unova, more specifically, in Castelia City, and so did the girl.
Life went about as normal as it could have for the two. Gwen in the early years would join the Captain on the boat when he sailed off, but as she grew older, simply stayed by herself at the homestead. It was during one of these times that the little girl had her damned accident.
She was waiting for the train. She had to go somewhere, though that somewhere has been lost to her, as are most details surrounding the accident. But one thing remains true: While Gwyneth Emma King was waiting for a train on a pleasant Friday morning, someone pushed the girl off the platform. Be it accidental or malicious, the fact remains that she had ended up on the tracks with a POWERFUL locomotive sprinting full speed right at her. She had injured her leg on the fall and couldn’t get back up. She crawled from the tracks, trying to get to the platform, to pull herself up, but she wasn’t quick enough.
The train barreled past her.
And rather than taking her ticket, it took her left leg.
The girl lived a life about as normal as one could expect from then on. She lived in a wheelchair for a while, but Earl managed to get a prosthetic built for her, and Gwen gave it her all to learn to walk again. She just didn’t waste her life sitting if she could help it.
Turns out she could.
About her tenth birthday, Earl King went out on his last voyage. The ship hit some rough waters and sunk. Earl didn’t survive. Gwen decided that she would. She lived off what she could for a while, but soon was forced to hit the streets. She lied, cheated, and stole to provide for herself. She would survive. She was homeless and hungry at times, but as she applied her trade, some nights she could afford to live a bit more on the good side of the tracks.
This went on for a while. Months. And then the past came strolling up to her one night.
Mr. Garfield.
He had heard of the terrible tragedy that had befallen his old captain, yet when he asked of the girl, he got no answer. So he went out, searching. And now here he was. He had finally found her. Unwilling to see her just die on the streets, Garfield offered to take her in. She took up his offer in tears.
That’s how she ended up a member of the Garfield homestead. The girl cleaned up, got settled in, and eventually ended up enrolled in the Pokemon Academy.
But now her time has come. Will Gwen have what it takes to conquer the Pokemon League Challenge? Or will she simply fade away into history?

TL;DR:
Small, loud, and proud, the Tiny Thief Gwen takes on the challenge!
Mattie is quite short, about 5'1", and very, very scrawny. Her skin is very pale, though it's not rare to see a faint blush across her cheeks when she's feeling shy or embarrassed, which is often. Her complexion is contrasted by her short, scruffy red hair, which she rarely brushes or cares for. Her fringe flops over her blue eyes, which is good for her because it means she can easily avoid making eye contact with people.
Clothing-wise, she doesn't really care as long as it's comfortable. She doesn't like wearing skirts or anything that reveals too much skin. She often wears worn out jeans, hoodies, t-shirt and boots, preferring to keep to things that are practical rather fashionable.
Due to her lack of femininity, she is often mistaken for a young boy. She doesn't seem to mind this.
Personality: Mattie is something of a stoic. She doesn't express much emotion, either through her facial expressions or her voice, and has a tendency to come across as 'cold' and/or 'rude' at best, and down right creepy at worst. In reality, she's just really, really shy, even to the point of being anthropophobic, and her lack of expressiveness is her way of hiding it. One of the ways to get her to become more open and expressive is by talking to her about a subject she loves like, for example, the occult. Bring up anything supernatural or creepy: she won't. Stop. Talking. This also adds to people being put off by her presence.
Mattie also lacks self-awareness and has a tendency to miss social cues, such as when people want her to be quiet, or politeness, or how close you should be to someone when talking to them. She'll either end up being too far away or too close. There is no happy medium. She also seems a bit intimidated by displays of affection, such as hugging or compliments, and sometimes will come off as rudely dismissing them merely because she would probably freak out if she paid too much attention to them.
Finally, while Mattie may be blind to what others think about her, she does notice other details some people might miss, such as traits about people. What they like, what they dislike, their relationships with others, how they handle situations, and catalogues them away in her mind for later analysis. She's actually naturally curious about people, but because she's afraid to ask questions, she instead takes to observing them, the way some researchers may observe Pokemon. However, this also has furthered her emotional distance from people, and Mattie often has difficulty relating to problems she has not experienced herself. When she does encounter a problem, however: she finds it difficult to handle, and tends to choose escapist methods rather than facing her problems head-on.
History: Mattie's comes from a long line of Psychics who live in Ecruteak City. Every woman in her family along her mother's line has been a psychic. Her mum is a psychic, her aunts are psychics, her grandmother was a psychic, and so on. When Mattie's mother was pregnant, she predicted her child would be a girl, and would continue the family tradition. She was... half-right. Mattie did turn out to be a girl. However, despite constant attempts to awaken young Mattie's powers, the girl never showed any signs of having psychic abilities herself. In fact, psychic Pokemon seemed uncomfortable in the girl's presence, preferring to keep a good amount of distance away from her. Her mother Sylvia was mortified and kept her distance from her child at first, as if Mattie had been born without all her limbs or something equally horrifying, yet Mattie seemed like a perfectly normal, non-psychic child. A little shy and fearful, but normal. Eventually, Sylvia warmed to her daughter, and actually became overly protective and almost smothering of her. Her father Edgar, however, was actually pleased his daughter had no powers. Since marrying Sylvia, he had felt overwhelmed with this psychic household and was happy to have someone 'normal' to talk to.
However, it was soon discovered that Mattie was perhaps not entirely normal as they had once thought. Over the years, the Linder household started attracting a large amount of ghost Pokemon. Sylvia, her sisters and her mother tried to scare them away, but they kept coming back in full force. At first they had no idea what was wrong... until they discovered that Mattie's school had also recieved unexpected visits from ghost Pokemon. It was then they realised that ghost Pokemon were seemingly attracted to Mattie, the way bug Pokemon were attracted to flowers, and they would follow her wherever she went. Mattie didn't seem to mind. In fact, she seemed fairly friendly towards the ghosts. Unfortunately, this had some depressing side-effects on Mattie's social life. The ghosts would either scare away any potentional friends, or Mattie would look crazy when kids saw her talking to thin air. She actually got ignored and even bullied at school, and eventually, her mother decided it was best she was homeschooled instead. She was much happier there, and got to spend more time with her ghost friends.
Unfortunately, as wild Pokemon became more and more violent, many of the ghosts at Mattie's household began to disappear or stop visiting. A couple stayed, but most of them left, and Mattie started to feel lonelier without them. Now, she's old enough to be a Pokemon trainer, and she's going on a journey. Her goal? Find out what happened to all her ghost friends.
Quirks/Habits/Other: - Due to people reporting her tendency to stare, Mattie dislikes making eye contact with people. - Has a vast knowledge of the occult, supernatural and myths. She also incredibly supersticious when it comes to luck and charms. - Attracts ghosts to her and is able to see them, even when normal people cannot. However, she's seen less and less ghosts following her since pokemon became more violent. - A little sensitive to sunlight. - She's not scared of ghosts or the dark. However, she is scared of being alone, as in truly alone. When she had her ghosts with her, she was never alone. Now she's much lonelier now msot of them have gone. - Her theme song would be this:
Inventory: - A large, leather-bound grimoire - Scented candles x6 - An assortment of paper talismans - A piece of chalk - Pokeball x5 - Extra clothes, plus pyjamas - Camping equiptment - A Pokegear - Her housekeys - Cards with conversation openers, provided by her dad. The hand writing is difficult to read.
Pokemon: N/A
TL;DR: A creepily shy girl who tends to attract ghosts and has a love of the occult, on a quest to find her lost ghost friends.
Zeph is 5'6", with short, slightly spiky brown hair and brown eyes. He has a healthy enough complexion, with a sprinkling of pale freckles just above his nose. He also usually has several bandaids on his face due to his tendency to get injured or get into trouble. For clothes, he just wears what's comfortable and/or practical, mostly things he can run around in easily.
Personality: Zeph is full of energy, to the point that he can almost never sit still, at least not without fidgetting. He's always looking forward to his next destination, never stopping to admire the world around and dwell on such things as the past or present. Because of this, he can be rash, and often runs into things without thinking first, which can get him into a lot of trouble. This is not helped by the fact that he has a fiery temper and can often jump to the worst conclusions about others if he tries to speak before he's got all the facts, which is often.
Zeph isn't a bad kid. Far from it, he has a strong sense of justice and love for both Pokemon and humans. But his tendency to rush through life means he doesn't stop to consider or notice the feelings of others, meaning he can innocently insensitive at times. If he took a moment to actually listen to others and show some restraint, he would probably have a lot more friends. However, his impatience and belief that he's not too fast, everyone else is just too slow and they should keep up, has kind of isolated him from others, and he has a tendency to come off as obnoxious.
History: Zeph was born in Kanto, and was the youngest of two sons. His parents were both trainers at the Cerulean City gym, and encouraged both their sons to folow in their footsteps as trainers. In particular, they put a lot of pressure on Zeph's older brother Percy, who, unlike Zeph, was far more laid-back and wise beyond years. When he became a trainer, he chose Squirtle, and travelled around the gyms collecting badges. He even challenged the Elite Four, but failed halfway through. Still, he was regarded as quite an ambitious trainer.
And Zeph was forced to live in his shadow.
Zeph was immature, sensitive and troublemaker. He got angry easily, didn't think before acting or speaking, and often got into fight with other kids. He often felt angry that his parents and everyone else paid so much attention to his older brother, and was determined to outdo him. Of course, a lot of trainers in Kanto knew Percy, and Zeph didn't want people assuming things about him based on his brother. So he decided to go stay with his materal grandparents in Cherrygrove, Johto. He had heard there would be a giveaway of starter Pokemon at Elm's and wanted to make his debut as a trainer in Johto. If his brother had tried to conquer Kanto and failed, then Zeph would go after Johto. And unlike his brother, he would succeed.
Quirks/Habits/Other: - He talks very quickly, and people often have to tell him to repeat himself slowly and more clearly. - When he gets angry, he tends to talk in angry and somewhat adorkable gibberish. And he can get angrily very easily. - He has a tendency to push himself and others to their limits, and has more than once collapsed from exhaustion. - He's a very fast runner. - This is his theme song:

Pokemon: N/A
TL;DR: A loud-mouthed, impatient boy with a serious inferiority complex who desires to outdo his older brother as a trainer.
Name: Nathaniel Archibald Douglas Nickname: Nate Age: 18 Gender: Male
Personality: Nate was a foolhardy and adventurous when he was younger. He often sneaked inside the boat when his father left on one of his many journeys across the sea to research the ocean, its fauna and flora.
Nate was also very curious, a trait he continued to have whilst growing up. He would always mess with his parents equipment. Computers, experimental machines, electrical contraptions that a child had no place to be near to. If they owned it, he would mess with it. That was also what sparked his love for technology and that is why nowadays, he will always carry with him a computer of sorts, something to tinker with while he is bored, watch the news or whatever else comes to his mind.
After his father's death, Nate went through a period of maturity. He thought about a lot of things and those thoughts changed him as a person. Although he still retains his outgoing look for life and still loves the sense of adventure a journey to new places brings, he doesn't trust Pokemon as much as he used to when he was younger and is generally more careful when dealing with them. That doesn't mean that the family's love for water Pokemon hasn't passed on to him, though. He still has a soft spot for those little wet creatures.
History: Pokemon suddenly turning feral and attacking, even injuring people, hit Nate's family hard. His father, an oceanic researcher and avid water Pokemon lover saw his own Pokemon turn on him. In a random fit of range, his Sharpedo attacked and ripped both of his legs to shreds. Eventually, it was put down by his colleagues that came to his rescue but the damage had been done. He died from excessive blood loss on his way to the hospital. That, plus the fact that Nate was a witness to the whole thing didn't help one bit in recovering from the loss of his father and a person he considered his best friend.
Nate wasn't however, the only one that was hit hard by this sudden event. Following the death of her husband, Nate's mother experienced extreme depression and refused to leave the house for two whole years. Nate tried everything in his power to get his mother to start going out again and not waste her life inside the house, saying that father would hate seeing her in that type of condition, had he been alive. Fortunately, she overcame her husband's death and together with her son, decided to move to another region, picking Johto because she was offered a job there as an executive researcher at the newly opened Johto branch of the Devon Corporation. They settled in and resumed their lives.
That was 10 years ago. Now aged 18, Nate feels like he is ready to go out and explore the world of Pokemon and maybe, just maybe, find out the reason why all the Pokemon went feral in the first place. Quirks/Habits/Other:
He is 5'10ft in height and 160 pounds or 72 kg in weight.
Thoroughly enjoys a full, tasty meal albeit who doesn't? Right?
Carvanha and Sharpedo bring him bad memories so he tends to stay away from them as much as possible.
Coming from a family that has deep roots in the ocean, he is a great swimmer.
His hair is pitch black but for a single strip of blue hair that he desperately tries to hide from plain sight.
Has no shame. Don't be surprised if you bump into him and he's semi-naked or... He just doesn't care.
Has a pretty dark sense of humor that not many people get at first.

Name:Blake Winterhawk Age:28 Gender:Male
Personality: At first glance, Blake often comes off as a serious, apathetic kind of guy, much resembling the type of gym he runs. However, a pleasant surprise awaits every trainer that talks to him after their battle. In actuality, he is very sociable and outgoing and doesn't hesitate to criticize young trainers, giving them advice about ways they can utilize to better train their Pokemon.
Blake is an overachiever. He always strives to be the best at everything he does, more so when it comes to breeding and training Pokemon. He will almost never turn down a battle and thrives in extreme environments and situations, mainly due to the experience he has gained from the regular wild excursions he went with his brothers when they were younger.
As for his family, although his father strongly disapproves of him being an Ice-type Pokemon trainer, Blake does not mind it that much. All the more, It gives him extra motivation to prove to his father that Ice-types are truly the best.
History: Blake's father, Joseph, served for 10 whole years as the Gym Leader of Blackthorn after the sudden disappearance of Clair, the gym leader before him. The current head of the Winterhawk Family, Former Gym leader of Blackthorn City Gym and one of the leading people when it comes to Dragon-types, Joseph Winterhawk was and still is, indeed, an accomplished man.
That, however, was not enough to make Blake a fan of Dragon-types for his interest had already been caught by another type, the Ice-type. His childhood, well, if there was one adjective to describe it, that would be adventurous. His two older brothers, James and Bracken were always there for him through good and bad times. When they were little, the three would venture together to the outskirts of the city. They would often sneak inside the Ice Path, exploring it for hours before their father came looking for them, worried that they might have lost their way inside the cave. Their luck didn't last for long though and one day, their fathers' worst fears came true.
The three brothers had gone on their usual little expedition inside Ice Path. Having explored most of the cave near the entrance, they decided to go a little deeper, figuring that if something went wrong, they could always return back by following their footsteps in the snow. Well, they were mistaken. Before they had left for the expedition, Joseph had warned them not to venture too deep inside Ice Path because the wild Steelix that made their home there had entered their breeding period and they were very aggressive towards anyone who they thought invaded their territory. The three brothers ignored their fathers' warning and went deeper and deeper inside the cave, straying away from the main path with every step they took up.
After half an hour or so, they had gone so deep inside the cave that they could no longer find the path back to the entrance. What's more, their footsteps in the snow had been covered with a thin layer of ice, making them indiscernible to the boys novice tracking eyes. That is when the Steelix appeared. Apparently, they had entered one of the nests where the female Steelix would gather and lay their eggs and as a result, the Steelix thought they were there to steal the eggs and tried to protect them. They attacked the boys and would have been almost killed if it wasn't for two brave Jinx that protected them from the danger by driving away the Steelix.
Blake couldn't believe his eyes. He couldn't believe it more so when suddenly out of nowhere, Piloswine and Swinub approached the three lost boys and helped them. They carried them on their backs, guiding them safely back to the main path and to the outside world. When they eventually returned home, their father was infuriated by their carelessness and grounded them for a whole month, actively preventing them from venturing inside the Ice Path by employing the help of some fellow Dragon Tamers who were placed at it's entrance, guarding it.
The spark had already been lit, though, and with the years, Blake developed a love for Ice-type Pokemon that would later shake the very roots of his family's traditions. At age 18, Blake set off on a journey in order to study Ice-type Pokemon. He traveled to every country and region, learning as much as he could about them. Around the time and before he began his journey, the whole thing with the Pokemon going feral and attacking trainers without reason happened and because of it, Blake faced a lot of hardships whilst traveling in the wild.
After traveling through Kalos, Blake decided to return back to his homeland and use the skills he obtained whilst traveling to use. He challenged his own father in a battle for the position of Blackthorn City Gym Leader. His father, after much consideration, agreed to it on one condition, that if Blake lost, he would release all of his Ice-type Pokemon and become a Dragon Tamer under the tutelage of Joseph. Blake agreed.
The ensuing battle was magnificent with Joseph later admitting that it was probably one of the best battles he had ever had, even though he lost. Both trainers and Pokemon fought fiercely, but the overwhelming type advantage Blake's Ice Pokemon had over his father's Dragon-types was too big for Joseph to overcome. As per their agreement, Blake became the new Blackthorn City Gym Leader.
Following Blake's victory over his father, the Blackthorn City Gym closed down for renovations. After five months, it opened up again, this time as an Ice-type gym. The cave behind the Gym is still home to many Dragon-types and Blackthorn, in general, is still considered the holy ground of Dragon-types, but they now have to make room for Ice-types as well. Quirks/Habits/Others
Blake is 6ft tall and weighing just over 200 pounds or 90 kg.
Unknown to him, whenever he gets mad, a bulging vein appears on his forehead.
He has a mild case of germophobia. He never shares anything that has to do with food, drink etc with others. Other than that, he is perfectly fine with whatever your typical germophobe might be afraid of.
Continuing in the footsteps of his father, he also has developed the bad habit of pulling pranks at the trainers who come to his gym in order to challenge him.
Johto's resident Pokemon professor. A kindly old man who loves Pokemon.
Professor Elm's timid but organised young assistant. He wants nothing more than to be a Pokemon professor when he grows up, just like his granddad… who also happens to be his boss.
Name:
Avery Victor Garfield XXVIII
Age:
20
Gender:
Male
Appearance:
What you see is what you get. Avery’s a rather tall guy, standing just shy of six foot nine and is of a very lanky build. A shaggy reddish-brown sea engulfs the guy’s head, occasionally blocking the sight of his calm blue eyes. But it’s not really bothering anything. Live and let live. Besides, he likes feel of his hair on his face. It tickles.
So Avery’s not too much of a stickler on what he wears. He wears a deep cut bluish tee-shirt, with a dark gray zip up hoodie. When it’s warm, sleeves rolled up. When it’s cold, sleeves go down. Keep it simple, stupid. Pale brown pants and a pair of simple black running shoes complete a standard Garfield get-up.
Personality:
Poor Avery. He tries. Bless his little heart, does he try. But somewhere along the way, the boy got viciously beat with the clumsy club. Maybe he’s just not fully comfortable in his giant body, but it translates to his personality. Avery constantly gets tangled up. Physically, mentally, emotionally, so on and so forth. Perpetually in a pickle, but the boy never gives up. The world might be conspiring against him, but he’s never gonna let it get him down. A bona fide optimist if there ever was one. And ironically, confident. Things will always work out, somehow. And they do. For every time Avery whacks his head against a low doorway or ceiling fan, there’s two more times where he’ll sneeze just in time to avoid being hit in the head with a ball, or find money in his pockets despite being flat broke. Something might be against him, but the universe has his back.
But if there’s one thing he’s not, it’s a coward. Avery IS Bravery. Literally, you cannot spell Bravery without ‘avery’. Whether he’s just incredibly stupid, or...well, no that’s probably it, but the lad is always ready to embark into the unknown. All for the sake of knowledge. The boy is curious of just about everything. If something bad happens, well, he’ll deal with it then. Try and try again, or so they say. Things will always work out, somehow.
As far as interaction with people go, Avery’s always up for a chat. Never high-strung, very rarely angry, an accurately described as scatterbrained, he makes for a rather laid-back guy. Maybe too laid-back. Not one for cruel words either, this one. If you don’t have anything nice to say… Oh well. Things will always work out, somehow.
History:
It’s odd, really. The sleepy little town of New Bark’s gotten pretty popular ever since the Professor Elm guy moved in. Then again, a renowned pokemon professor is bound to bring some attention. Throw in the whole license thing and it only makes sense. The Pokemon License. Or whatever it’s called. Avery never really had any interest in it, really. That’s not why he was in New Bark. He was just born into it.
Born late, that is. His parents were getting up there. How he even came to be is a miracle. His mother SHOULDN’T have been able to have a kid. But she did.
Garfields 1, Nature 0.
His father was a sailor, though he retired shortly after Grant was born. Mom...well, she doesn’t talk much about what she did.
But enough about THOSE Garfields. Ours is much younger. And much less...err...certain about life. Enter Avery. A boy with a carefree life, content with spending his days napping under a tree, or fishing in the lake by the town, or napping by his fishing pole by the lake by the town.
In fact, he might even still be doing that to this day were it not for little Gwen. Little Gwen who decided she wanted to take on the Pokemon League Challenge. Avery liked Pokemon, but he never pursued anything after going to the academy. Gwen, however, was gung ho about going on the quest. The Garfields were hesitant about letting Gwen go alone, though, and thus poor Avery got roped into joining her. It’d be good for him, they said. It’d help him learn about the world. Maybe even convince him to do something with his life.
And thus the lucky lazeabout was forced into the journey of a lifetime.
Quirks/Habits/Other: -Disgustingly Optimistic -Disturbingly Brave -Dis...he’s curious. I ran out of D-adjectives. -Avery’s a tornado. Where there is order, the angel of chaos is sent down from above to disrupt it. Wherever the lad goes, a trail of disorganization follows. *Ahem* He’s got no organizational skills. Don’t gaze into his pack. Something might gaze back at you. -Tragically terrible at cooking. But the food ends up LOOKING good. Just uh, don’t taste it. Ever. -Content with sleeping just about anywhere. -Lucky. -Surprising adept at fishing. -Easily lost. Easily losing things. Basically, don’t let him ANYWHERE NEAR THE DAMN MAP. -Often gets lost in thoughts or in a book. -Carries around a small notepad, in which he frequently jots new and interesting facts. SURPRISINGLY neat handwriting and actually legible. -Oblivious to all but the most obvious social cues.
Inventory: *Pokeballs x5 *Notepads x1 *Misc. Pencils/Pens x12 *Pokegear with Map/Phone/Radio x1 *Set of Spare Clothes x3 *Extra-large heavy-duty brown backpack with sleep roll buckled to the top x1 *Repair Kit for Gwen’s Prosthetic Leg *Running Blade

Theme:
TL;DR: Lucky loveable loser with a heart of gold. Loyal big brother and guardian.
His color is Orange because he doesn’t like oranges.
Name: Ciel Duperie
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Appearance:
Tall, pale, and certainly very damn handsome, Ciel Duperie is seen by most as a flawless being among such paltry paupers surrounding him. Standing pridefully at six feet, he stands as quite a tall boy being able to look over the masses. His eyes are a piercing red color which often makes the ladies swoon and a lax smile which melts myriads of hearts around him. Along with that, he sports blonde hair which is groomed and never standing out. Other than that, he stands with a dignified posture, ready for the peasants to grovel at his feet.
Aside from his handsome face, the boy knows how to dress sharply, as he follows all the latest trends in Kalos to keep him looking stylish as always. After all, he needs something to distinguish him from the rabble, starting off with a sleek black jacket. It looks professionally hand crafted, with not a limp string or ripped seam making him appear mature and alluring; it's also comfy and useful to travel in. Next is his pure white shirt with a beautiful design around the collar. He also wears some nice black gloves as he can't afford to get his hands dirty. Finally, he always wears black pants, with shiny black shoes which look almost hand polished every day.
Personality:
"Mademoiselle.~"
Charming, attractive, and witty, Ciel has the cliche properties in a man that every woman seems to want. The boy treats everyone with respect, and keeps an award winning smile on his face as he wishes to keep everyone on his good side. He does, however, expect praise for him just being him as he is very haughty and sees himself as the next great thing in... well, just about anything.
Even with these traits, this rich child is nothing more than manipulative, spoiled brat. His friendly demeanor is to get them on his good side so he can abuse their bond to his advantage. Any way to make a person tick, this arrogant, condescending prick will bend the person until they are, broken and are of no use to him. He will then make sure that they appropriately, erm, "discarded of." Ciel has amassed different ways to dispose of a person, whether it be through no association to lesser, inhumane ways if they persist in trying to blame him. Efficient and cruel are two ways to perfectly describe him once you manage to delve under the mask. Persuasion will not work on him... unless it is by Cerise of course...
It reaches rather frightening degrees once one discovers his inner secrets. He stalks Cerise constantly, usually out of sight while admiring her from a distance. He can become sickly jealous if another person has a crush on her as he will go to such exasperated lengths to defile and crush their dreams before kicking it to the curb. He will not let anything get in between him and her. No purple haired bastards, no vile gang members, and certainly not a gang of trainers. She is his to him, no matter what.
~Optional~
Short Bio:
Born to a fairly affluent family, Ciel was the only child and heir to the Duperie fortune. Funny enough, he was the son of a very well known and kind politician in the region, his mom being, surprise surprise, a chef of a well renowned restaurant in Lumiouse. Why they married each other due to the supposed different class standings? They were one of the few couples who actually loved each other for who they were. Even though they were kind, they struggled to raise their child and resorted to maids when they were not around. Though they did manage to take care of him, he had a hard time maintaining a moral high ground.
Even so, he learned quickly on how to charm people and get into their good standings... before wedging a figurative knife between their spine if they dared question him. He grew up with everything he (kind of) wanted; a group of "friends" willing to back him up, a rich and powerful family, and a, erm, "diverse" set of skills to help him out. What more could he stereotypically need at this point?
Early on when hanging out with his friends, he always spied a beautiful maiden with red hair that he honestly never heard of or saw before. He inquired about who she was, to which they replied in a surprised manner, before teasing him. One of the boys eventually decided to bestow the knowledge onto him - the girl was known as Cerise Fontaine... to which Ciel recalled that her father assisted his father in a few... business endeavors to further his political career.
Ciel admired the girl from a distance, but never mustered up any courage to talk to her, period... he kept watching her astounding beauty... and removing any possible rivals to her b y a n y m e a n s n e c e s a r y .
With the exception of one lucky bitch who grew close to her... so close that tearing that girls head off would break her heart, and he couldn't afford that.
After all, he did have appearances to keep.
Even with his stalking and murderous tendencies, he kept his cool nature around his friends. He even begged his father to get pokemon for him, despite being in school. His family did let him have the pokemon under the custody of his father. The boy was given the big spiel about how pokemon were a big responsibility and should only be allowed to wander the premises and never go outside until he came of age... which he immediately disobeyed. The boy began showcasing his pokemon, all while building up their pride and their affection for him... all to impress Cerise... which failed regardless. He still looked after his pokemon and cared for them... after all, they were of some use to him.
... the years past on as she began her rise to a sort of one shot fame, but he still kept falling for her... killing for her...

Eventually, after one year of graduating from his preppy trainer school, he finally mustered up the courage to try and talk to her... only to discover she had headed to the country side in Johto to see an old friend. Disgusted that she and her friend (who he found out was called Abigail) were among hicks and mostly lesser beings that looked like humans, he opted in his elegance and grace to follow her... alone.
Most of his friends regarded him as a bad ass romantic, while females swooned with jealousy. That poor lucky girl...
She was going to have... a v e r y b a d t i m e.

Pokemon:
Male - Zorua
Female - Roselia
A charismatic businessman who loves Pokemon. Currently is said to be researching why the Pokemon have suddenly gone feral.
Name: Sidney Garland
Age: 20
Gender: Female
Appearance:
Personality: Sidney, well, to put bluntly...well, some would call her a mischievous little rascal who always stick her nose where it doesn't belong. She spends most of her free time looking for the next big story that would probably get her 'famous'. After all, its her dream to be a top investigative journalist/news reporter/best selling novelist.
Her personality hasn't changed much over the years, though she has learned a bit of self restraint since graduating trainer school - Albeit not much.
History: Unova born and raised, Sidney has always been one for adventure and trouble, even as a little kid. Getting into trouble was practically what she was known for in her home town of Castelia. Once, for christmas she got a camera as a present, and she started taking it everywhere with her. During trainer shcool, she'd always take it around with her and get embarrassing photos of her classmates and publish them in the schools newspaper.
After graduating, she landed a job as a reporter and newscaster in Johto. It was for a small station that was currently in trouble of losing a lot of its viewers to a more popular station. She's only been working there a few months, but she's already gained quite a bit of a following in the region - and helped the station recover, at least a little bit.
Not long after, during one of her 'excursions' she ran across a Sableye who was causing a bit of mischief when she was visiting Cerulean city, disproving the 'Sandwich Stealing Ghost' as a legitimate ghost, and becoming quite good friends with the little guy in the process.
Pokemon:
Sableye Name: Ruby
Gender: Female

Name: Alicia Jackson
Age: 25
Gender: Female
Appearance:
Personality: Somewhat serious, Alicia is a very by the books person. She is very orderly and does things in a neat, and orderly fashion. Or at least, she tries to. Ever since Sidney started working with her, she's had a very difficult time keeping the red-head on track during their news program. She has to hand it to her though, instead of being all matter of fact and to the point...people seem to enjoy Sidney's antics, so she goes along with it for the most part.
She can't help but be a bit jealous of the red-head, though she mostly tries to ignore it.
She's by no means a very adventurous person, mostly because she finds pokemon terrifying - especially 'Ruby' or Sidney's 'Cutest little gem eating sneaky ghost thing in the world.' as she calls her. The little guy often sneaks into the set by hiding inside of Sid's hoodie. Dark types, she can handle well enough. But a ghost and dark type? NOPE NOPE NOPE.
Oddly enough, she finds spiders and spider pokemon oddly adorable.
Also has a bit of a temper when pushed a bit too far.
History:
Alicia was born in Johto, and had a fairly normal life growing up. In fact, her history is so mundane, its kind of astonishing. No tragedies, moving away, or even any sort of major conflicts with her friends. Her life, was utterly normal as far as some goes. She went to school, had friends, graduated with decent enough grades - and majored in journalism and eventually got hired at a fairly well known station, whose recent lead reporter quit and went to work for a rival network.
She did her best, but she just wasn't as good as their last guy, but the company couldn't afford to higher anyone else - at least not a well known one that was good.
So they took their chances on adding another co-host, a fiery redhead from Unova that had a glowing recommendation from her school, and even a popular station in Unova she interned at.
She was skeptical at first, even somewhat amazed that such a ridiculous girl who acted like she still hadn't grown out of being a teenager could possibly ever be a good reporter. Well, if the ratings were anything to go by, she wasn't just good, she was great. For the first few weeks, they had a rather strained relationship.
At least, that was until Sidney saved her job.
Since then, the two have been fairly good friends, in the office and out of it. Though, Sid often drags her into trouble sometimes.
Name: Ashton Blanc
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Appearance:
Standing defiantly at five foot nine, Ashton is the epitome of confidence... or was that pride? Regardless, Ashton is very pale in comparison to other people like his sister who has a tanner complexion. While being of a lanky build, he does have an imposing smile which can be used to intimidate opponents as he glares at them with piercing red eyes. His posture (and him) literally scream "Never gonna back down!"
Despite his hair growing long and wilder, Ashton refuses to cut it as he likes the style. Pony tailing and taming his wild jet mane will cause him discomfort and will pique him to no end. On top of that, he is always seen with his two signature items - a pokeball necklace and a sleek black jacket. Along with that he sports a beige shirt and gray pants with red tinges here and there. Finally there comes his running shoes which are unsurprisingly black and red.
Personality:
"Champion? Why, you are already looking at the next one!"
Cocky and ambitious, Ashton sees himself as the next big thing in pokemon battling... even though he is mediocre at it. His brash and overly confident attitude stretches to him being more or less condescending against other trainers, much to his sisters chagrin. When around people who aren't in it for the battling portion, he subtly treats them as lesser to him while portraying himself as a heroic being. This ends with him telling them to let him handle it before failing miserably at the task. Also tries to impress ladies, but has less than satisfactory results...
Losing just at anything isn't something he believes, rather he blames his downfalls on other trainers quite abruptly when things don't go his way. These can resort to insults about how the trainer cheated and undermined the battle, or just calling them plain lucky. Along with that, if he does win, he will act more so like an arrogant jerk who berates the trainer for being a horrible person. This leads to him calling the trainer pathetic before telling them to abandon pokemon battling.
Even with his flaws, he still shows a deep seated worry for pokemon. Rather then ever blaming them for a problem or himself, he will look for another liability within another person. Even with his troubling sentiment, Ashton does care for his pokemon and bonds with them quite easily. The only way to truly anger him is to show true contempt for pokemon, to which he will remorselessly berate the person until they refute their previous statement. Ashton also doesn't like Glenn to a certain degree since he spews toxic things about the creatures in his opinion.
~Optional~
Short Bio:
Ashton was originally born to two pokemon enthusiasts who professionally raised pokemon in their sanctuary. Being the youngest of the two children, he wasn't too different from his sister who was five years older than her since they were both rough, rowdy, and got along with the pokemon well. Most of their life spent was taking care of stray pokemon in Kanto, often taking in stray pokemon. The family of four usually nursed them back to health and letting them decide whether they would want to stay, leave, or be given away to a newbie trainer. Eventually the sanctuary for pokemon became a nightmare when he became seven years old as the pokemon grew surprisingly aggressive. The family was able to tame a few with a huge amount of difficulty, but in the end they ended up closing their doors to all pokemon, seldom letting one in.
Despite this, Ashton and his sister grew up around what pokemon remained while attending school. Ashton was not considered to be the best in battling and was teased by his peers for his poor battling skills. Even with said skills, his sister devoted her time to assisting him before she went off on her own journey with friends. From there on, his skills became stagnant. The battling abilities did not degrade, but he couldn't exactly prove himself to be an excellent battler. Even so, he boasted about how he was going to work his way to the top and become the champion.
For whatever reason it was, no one really knew why he wanted to do this. Whether he was sick of his skills or grew an inferiority complex, one thing was for certain - he was going to try to get the seat of the Champion.
Ashton eventually began his adventure with a couple of other kids, choosing a Poliwag as his partner. Problem is, his battling skills could easily be compared to his navigational skills... and he got lost...
...like, really, really lost.
He somehow managed to end up deviating from his group with another chick who looked like a goth and ended up in Johto. How he managed to do that is still a mystery, but he still began collecting badges from each city he found over the years... of course, he still gets lost in the mean time, but hey he is making progress!... sort of. Four badges in a year is good enough for him, right?

Name: Mayu Ayaka
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Appearance:
Standing at just five foot six, Mayu is what you would consider average in her height. Her skin is eerily pale which contrasts with her dark clothing, making her stand out like a sore thumb. Her blue eyes are rather dull to look at and are always half closed. She also sports and unhappy glare with a frown as she walks, slouching over as if she is trying to hide herself from the world. Along with that, she has dark black hair with some strands partially bleached out.
Mayu doesn't really hold a preference for what she dresses up in as she slaps on dark clothing without caring if it matches or not. What she currently has on is a peculiar looking dress with a skull in the center. It legitimately looks almost remnicent of a Halloween Costume despite being a proper dress with cyan frills. Along with that, she wraps a cyan belt around her dress to keep it from flying away. Along with that she wears dark daisy dukes with black and white socks. Finally comes her shoes which bolster her height to five foot eight while fitting in with the color scheme of the rest of her outfit.
Personality:
"... I... I could just really care less, ya know?"
Mayu was never the apathetic girl she was today, however felt pushed and pressured to the point where she decided to run away from who she originally was. Reborn, Mayu still is a rather intelligent girl, but averts speaking up too much. Despite traveling in a group, she opts to stay away from other members, and only interacts with her pokemon.
The girl can become annoyed at the most minuscule of things, but averts showing her annoyance aside from a twitching eye. When not given her way, a.k.a being left alone, she will burst in annoyance, telling them to back off in the rudest manner before stomping off to cool down. Other than that, don't expect her to be buddy buddy with her acquaintances any time soon. She is just forced to know them.

Short Bio:
Sugar, spice, and everything nice, the Ayaka family gave birth to a supposedly perfect baby girl in Unova. She was everything the family expected her to do - intelligent, beautiful, always walking around with a smile... with a smile... with a smile... She lived the life of a stereotypical popular girl who everyone knew at school, the girl that everyone wanted to be, despite living in a middle class household in Aspertia City. Even so, the girls perceived life with constant smiles and irritating faces even takes its toll on the girl behind closed doors.
Mayu was actually a very unmotivated girl who knew not where she was going and was often scolded and pushed by her parents to go to school. She eventually cracked under the family pressure and began putting up the facade, her silenced anger building up, ready to ruin Mayu. One day at home, her father and mother began bickering over her grades, how they weren't high enough, how she needed to strive to be better than this despite being one of the best.
Then, she exploded under the tyranny of her very own parents.
The girl wasn't seen at school for a couple of days and was reported "sick" by her parents. They weren't lying as the girls mental stability began to break as she was sick of the domestic abuse of her parents which she had to endure every single day. Eventually, someone in her neighborhood became suspicious of the screaming and sobbing they were hearing all night, and called up the authorities. They were shocked to find a batter almost to death, bruised girl being continuously taunted by her mentally unstable parents.
They were apprehended for their inconceivable act and the girl was sheltered by a nearby hospital who helped the girl recover. However, that month of abuse changed her. She cared less about the world each day, often questioning why it was worth it. Eventually when she was expected to be released, she attempted a failed suicide and was commissioned to stay in there for a few months.
Her aunt in Kanto was horrified that their niece was irrefutably broken like this and traveled to Unova to help care for her. The recovery was eventually successful and Mayu's aunt and uncle took custody over her.
Unlike her strict parents, they were lenient with her, and encouraged her to perform her best in school. She only did it for one sole reason - she tolerated them, but did not want her relatives in her life out of fear that she might end up beaten again.
Eventually, she graduated from her trainer school at the age of seventeen, not one of the top students though, but she ranked rather high. Eventually she and this kid got split from the group and they ended up going into Johto and running around...
... for one year.
Still, she didn't care and followed the boy around, wandering without a purpose, apathetically not caring if there was one.

Name: Natalie Faulkner
Age: 30
Gender: Female
Appearance:
Detective Faulkner stands at five foot nine, and while she is of a smaller build, an athletic past has left her with lightly defined muscles. Her long, pale blonde hair is swept back on the top, with the back being kept in a tight braid. Pale’s a pretty accurate word for her. Her skin, despite spending much time outdoors, is close to snow, and even her eyes are more of an icy blue. Freckles crawl from cheek to cheek, crossing her nose. Her forehead and the lower region of her face don’t seem to have that problem.
It’s common to see Natalie opt for a dark field jacket as a top, when on duty. Johto’s streets can get a bit cold. She’ll pair that with black trousers and black leather shoes. On her time, Natalie prefers rocking just a tee-shirt and jeans. Simple works.
Personality: Ever motivated, ever dedicated, ever ambitious, Natalie is a hardworking individual. She always finds a way to stay busy and is the pinnacle of organization. Never one to waste a moment, this detective always seems to be on the move. She manages to solve any issue without straying from the lines too much. A straight-arrow if you will.
She’s a kind, compassionate person, careful, yet elegant with her words. She’s patient with people, never getting frustrated...at least to their face. Painfully aware of how she appears in the eyes of others, Natalie makes sure to always leave a good impression. She’s aiming for the top after all.
Natalie cannot stand to see her fellow officers slack around, or break the rules. It infuriates her to no end. Most of the others are aware of this and know that she means well. Tetsuya, however, seems to deliberately crank things up when she’s around, trying to egg her on to her boiling point. She hasn’t had a meltdown yet, but the guy’s pushing it…
History: Natalie comes from a fairly wealthy family in Sinnoh. She never wanted for anything as a child, having the best schooling available, plenty of friends in the other children, practically every advantage possible. Her parents were rather supportive of the young girl, allowing her to pursue anything that might catch her interest. She managed to excel at most of these, due either to natural talent in some cases or excellent teachers in others.
But Natalie was always fascinated with police in movies and on television. They seemed so very cool to her. From an early age, she decided that she wanted to do that. She wanted to bring criminals to justice, to protect the innocent, to be a paragon of peace.
So after graduating, she joined up with Sinnoh’s force.
It was a disaster.
Natalie quickly discovered that her natural talent didn’t exactly translate well to the streets. Her posh upbringing didn’t exactly win her much favor with the locals. The other officers didn’t exactly like her either, painfully aware of the Faulkner family’s reputation. No matter what she tried to do, she seemed to fail. She, Natalie Faulkner, was not only NOT excelling, she was FAILING.
That would not do.
Rather than quit, Natalie found herself even more motivated. She hadn’t failed before, and she sure wasn’t about to let her dream escape her because she wasn’t good enough. She channeled her frustration, her disappointment, her everything into improving herself. She cleaned up her act, losing the air of superiority that had been with her since her childhood. She befriended some of the other officers, trying to leech as much experience and tips as she could. She tried to learn more about the people she was serving, to hear about their lives. Natalie threw everything she had into changing herself, to become a woman of the people.
It worked.
She found herself being more well received by the locals, the other officers stopped giving her as much shit, and she was wrapping up cases quicker and more efficiently. Even the more cases she received in response to that ended up being solved rather quickly. And always by the books. Her superiors, who once despised her very existence, began to warm up to the girl.
But there would always be the whispers. The Faulkner girl was favored because of her family. She was buying her success. She was a disgrace to the force.
Faulkner let it slide. She didn’t care. Her superiors did, however. They stopped moving her in the ranks, and the girl eventually found herself in a stagnant position. So she requested a transfer. Anywhere as long as it was as far away from the Faulkner name as she could get.
Thus Natalie found herself in Johto where her kind personality and work ethic rapid shot her up the ranks. She became a detective, but she hopes that her success hasn’t ended. She’ll climb her way to the top, one way or another.
She’s considered one of the top four detectives in the Johto region.
Pokemon: Arcanine - M Lapras - F Nidoqueen - F Furret - M
Name: Kutairo Sakirminai
Age: 26
Gender: Male
Appearance:
Coming in at six feet one, Kutairo is always seen standing up proud. Despite his dirty blonde hair which seems to be recklessly going out of control. Due to his job, he has made sure to keep himself in some shape to brawl with a few muscles, but not enough to warrant a six pack. He sports dull, blue eyes that barely gleam unless he has come up with a new plan or dissected knowledge that gives him a better understanding. He also carries a serious demeanor about him and very seldom smiles.
Kutairo is usually seen with a regular blue police standard shirt which he is seen sporting most of his time. He does wear a black tank top underneath just in case the uniform gets torn. It's always seen as crisp and clean, without a slight shed of dirt or dust. Along with that, he makes sure to wear pants that are comfy and flexible, but are permitted in the force. Combined with black shoes which will always be the dirtiest part of his attire and you have Kutairo Sakirminai... sometimes.
He does wear much more lax clothing, but that's when he is off the job.
Personality:
"Hmm, if that was the case..."
The cases Kutairo have attended to have sharpened the man up efficiently. He is not one to joke around too easily and is difficult to provoke to say the least and keeps a cool head under situations. Despite being supposedly Lawful by his peers, Kutairo will leer off into chaos if it benefits completing the task at a safer and better rate. Otherwise he will tend to be orderly and strict, often resulting to scolding others if they deviate. Kutairo takes his job very seriously and will not stand illogical actions that squander time and money. Like mother like son Kutairo is.
Despite this, Kutairo is rather... shy around others. Seen as aloof and cold by others is a lingering fear that won't disperse - being alone. Even while surrounded by other officers and detectives, he still does not manage to feel at home. His intelligence does make up for his lack of social interactions. Devising strategies and seeing a plan are his strengths, along with carrying out the task. He does hold another fear in which letting another die. Kutairo feels responsible for his comrades and civilians, regardless of how reckless or mean they are. He will make sure you don't come home in a body bag.
~Optional~
Short Bio:
Hoenn born Kutairo came from a renown family of detectives, police officers, the works. His own father was the stereotypical strict father with a big heart while his mother was the quiet damsel. Funnily enough, that quiet damsel had a job in the international police force while the father was a stay at home dad who did his part to take care of their two children. It was rough adjusting to the schedules at which the children would see their mom, as they often wished for her to come home. Despite the father being jealous of the children always looking out for their mother, he was satisfied that he was doing the correct thing in raising Kutairo and his sister.
One day, Kutairos mother came home with a report that the case they were dealing with was completed, however said that they were being relocated to a new location - Kalos. It was when Kutairo was seven that he said good bye to Hoenn, and was headed for Kalos.
The family settled in Lumiouse City with the stunning Tower overshadowing the rest of the city. Most of the houses there were a bit more expensive than the rest, however the family managed to scrape by. To make ends meet, however, the children's father had to procure a job at one of the Cafes to help pay for the rent. Sometimes the father could get a little chat in or escort his children to school, but that was about it. Kutairo and his sister saw their parents less and less each time which took a toll on both of them. Kutairo began to grow shyer around other students at his school who would frequently bully him while his sister became a rambunctious tomboy who did not back down from a challenge. Despite their contrasting personality changes, they did understand one thing - they had to grow up fast.
In school, the two differentiated between each other with Kutairo being an ace while his sister was average. Kutairo seldom had a friend to hang around and his sister was spending more time with what she saw as "her crowd." The rift between them grew and grew, before finally Kutairo knew the definition of true loneliness. He tried joining a Kendo Club around town (which was surprising to find) however, struggled to make any friends.
In the end, Kutairo grew up to be a "perfect" child while his sister turned out to be a rabble-rousing punk. At this point, he began his own journey with other trainers, retaining his skill but felt it wasn't right.
At the young age of 18, Kutairo was enlisted to join the International Police due to his superior knowledge and skills. He did hope to see his mother again, but it was a futile attempt that fell flat as time passed on.
The man made new friends in the INP but still retained that sense of dull loneliness, despite being one of the best detectives. Eventually he was assigned to Johto with other INP members, his journey far from over.

Appearance:
Officer Mendez is six foot four and has an athletic build. He has dark skin, short dark hair, and warm dark eyes. He keeps his chin free of pesky stubble the best he can. Mendez keeps his uniform in tip-top shape, always looking as sharp as possible.
As with most of the other officers, Mendez dons the standard blues. He goes with cap and tie, really dressed to impress. Outside of work, he’s more of a tee-shirt and jeans kind of guy.
Personality: Gabriel is about as honest and just as they come. He is an agent of Order, always keeping a calm mind. Chaos just doesn’t suit him well. Things had their places, He wouldn’t be able to deal without it.
Gabriel is a kind, gregarious individual. Being around other people makes him smile. He tends to be rather polite and respectful to anyone he meets.
As one might guess, Mendez follows rules and guidelines very closely. He gets mildly irritated when his fellow officers all go off the rails, but who is he to argue with results? To each his own.
History: Gabriel comes from a rather bureaucratic Johto family. His parents, his brothers, most people have ended up in some sort of government position. Gabriel, growing up, fought against this, hard. He didn't want to be stuck in an office for the rest of his life. He wanted to go out and make a difference, be something much more than that.
But time changed the boy.
As he got older, the bureaucratic lifestyle seemed more and more appealing. It was simpler. He liked that. But part of him still fought against it...thus he came to a sort of compromise. He decided to join the police force, hoping to maybe work out that yearning for adventure that haunted him while building a decent background for eventually running for public office.
He's been on the force for close to fifteen years now. He's been involved in some cases of note, but for the most part, Gabriel is an average officer. He plans on running for office after he retires.

Umeko is about five foot seven, give or take. She’s got a rather average build, not too heavy, yet not too light. Her straight black hair falls down to about her upper back and rests across her brow, right above her big blue eyes. Her skin is ever-so-lightly tanned.
Umeko goes with the standard blue on duty, opting to spice it up only with a tie clip. Off duty, she’s actually more of a blouse and skirt kind of girl.
Personality: Don’t let her innocent look fool you! Umeko is about as feisty as they come! Quick to anger and lacking any sort of filter whatsoever, it’s not surprising that most of the other officers are rather careful when dealing with the volatile chick. Strongly opinionated, Umeko will be the first to voice her opinion on a situation, and likely the first to smash your face in if you disagree. That being said, Umeko is fiercely protective over her fellow officers. She’s the only one allowed to badmouth them. Anyone else...beware.
Umeko is another passionate officer. She wants to see justice dealt, and gets rather emotional if it isn’t. She’s willing to go out of her way to help an innocent, but she tends to hesitate if it means breaking the rules. If it’s a matter of life or death, though, evildoers beware!
History: Officer Minami hails from Mahogany, the daughter of a miner. She got along well with the other children in town, but she always was a bit more on the bossy side. While some children resisted her, it was for naught. She soon had most of the town under her harsh regime which she ruled with an iron fist. She was the Queen here. Her word was law.
After her schooling, Umeko went to work in for a business located in Goldenrod. Her rather abrasive personality ended up losing her that job rather quickly. Such was the fate of a couple other jobs Umeko tried to take. Eventually, however, she signed up to join the police force, where her authoritative personality helped her to bring many a criminal to heel. Who would dare commit a crime when it meant dealing with her? That could be a fate worse than death!
The job made for a nice stepping stone to her ultimate goal.
All shall quake at the thought of the dark one...
All shall fear the name spoken only in whispers...
All shall bend to the iron will of Mad Queen Minami!
Hail!
Pokemon: Growlithe - F Gyarados - M Rhyhorn - F
Name: Tetsuya Nishimura
Age: 32
Gender: Male
Appearance:
Tetsuya is one of the taller members of the force, hitting about six foot two. He’s well built, in rather decent shape despite his terrible smoking and drinking habits. His dark hair is getting a bit shaggy, and some stubble is starting to grow out on his chin a bit. Tetsuya has a pair of intense brown almond shaped eyes. He carries a sort of serious look about him in most cases, always focused on the job at hand.
He prefers nondescript dark suits. Dark gray shirt, black tie, black jackets. Standing out isn’t his business. Though honestly, Tetsuya likely couldn’t care less what he’s wearing. They’re just clothes in the end.
A cigarette usually lulls lazily in the corner of the man’s mouth.
Personality:
Detective Nishimura is a rather aloof individual. He sticks to himself usually, preferring to survey situations from afar before jumping in. When he does engage in some sort of interaction, Tetsuya plays whatever part is appropriate. Excellent at reading people, Tetsuya is a master at saying exactly what someone wants to hear. If a lie will get him closer to the information he needs, he’ll lie.
As an officer, he comes across as rather lazy and disorganized. It seems to be a miracle that he gets anything done, or at least, officially it does. Tetsuya knows the law well. He knows what he can and cannot get away with. He also knows how to hide some of his less than stellar behavior. Despite how he may seem, he really does care for those around him, and the people whose lives he encounters in his cases. He’ll make sure justice gets delivered, laws be damned. More of a logical loose cannon than someone like Zoe who just follows her heart.
History:
Tetsuya comes from a broken home in Goldenrod City. His father and his mother didn’t quite see eye to eye on most things, and their method of trying to salvage their marriage came from having more and more kids. Tetsuya was the first, but he does have a younger brother and sister. Surprisingly, adding more kids to the equation didn’t save shit. So his father left. Which might have been fine, Tetsuya wasn’t a big fan of the man anyway, but the elder Nishimura wasn’t exactly the most stable individual. He stewed on the failed marriage, then one day, came back.
With a gun.
He ended his wife and began looking throughout the house for his children, ready to put them down as well, erase his mistakes, y’know? Tetsuya, upon seeing his father pull up to the house, took his brother and sister and hid. Mr. Nishimura kept looking for the children, but grew increasingly frustrated when he couldn’t find them. When the police eventually arrived on the scene, they found his corpse in the living room, sitting on the couch with his thinking cap sprayed against the ceiling. His wife’s body was lain across the floor before him. The three children were later found in the attic, confused, frightened, what have you.
With no living relatives to speak of, both parents had been only children, the Nishimura kids were sent to an orphanage. Tetsuya’s little brother and infant sister were adopted rather quickly, but Tetsuya never ended up getting picked up.
Obviously a bit troubled, Tetsuya found himself running with a bad crowd. He had many encounters with the law, most of them unpleasant. Honestly, he’d probably be locked up somewhere by now, key thrown away, if it weren’t for Chief Stromberg. After one particularly bad pick up, the Chief pulled the youth aside as he was being processed at the station. The old man gave him the usual spiel about how he was throwing away his life, what was going to happen, the whole shebang. Whatever. Tetsuya had heard it all before. But the Chief changed it up at the end. He told Tetsuya that he saw potential in the kid, potential to do some real good with his life. That he could make a difference. That he was playing for the wrong team.
It struck home with Tetsuya. Even to this day, he’s not entirely sure why, but he cleaned up his act pretty quick after that. No, he didn’t become no boy scout, but he stopped running with the hooligans. And once he became of age, he joined the force, where he quickly rose through the ranks until he became a detective.
Pokemon: Arcanine - M Scizor - M Sneasel - F Weezing - M
Name: Zoe Delaney
Age: 26
Gender: Female
Appearance:
At five foot eleven, Zoe clocks in as the tallest woman on the force, and is quite likely the officer, male or female, in the best shape as well. She has dark skin and often bleaches her hair which she keeps cut short and tight. Her sea green eyes tend to always have a bit of a sparkle to them. She’s often spotted with a grin of some sort.
Zoe favors a more casual uniform. Rather than the standard blues, she prefers something more along the lines of a black ‘Police’ tee-shirt with navy blue pants more fitting for movement. Throw in a pair of black boots and there ya go. While not normally permitted, Zoe’s rank allows for a bit more flexibility.
Personality: Zoe’s pretty fiery. Strong, independent, fierce. She’s incredibly confident in her abilities, nearly to the point of arrogance. She follows her gut. It hasn’t let her down just yet, so why fix something if it ain’t broke?
She operates a bit more...freely than her fellow officers. Rules, regulations, orders...she seems them more as guidelines than anything. She’s a damn fine officer, and she knows it. She gets to the bottom of things by any means necessary. While her methods may cause a bit of a headache for her superiors, she gets results.
She’s actually a pretty nice girl, but she has trouble showing much weakness. This leads to her coming across as a bit more aggressive and competitive than she’d like. She not too empathetic either. She knows how she feels, but stepping into someone else’s emotions? Not her strong point.
History: Zoe comes from a military family on her father’s side and a police family on her Mother’s. She moved around quite a bit as a child, what with her father’s job and all. So growing up, Zoe didn’t have much contact with other kids her age. Sure, there were other military brats from time to time, but with everyone always moving, she found it hard to keep friends. That was alright with her, though. She enjoyed the places she got to see. If loneliness was the price she had to pay for that, well, it was worth it.
The place Zoe’s family was stationed at the longest was this little port in Johto. She actually got a couple years there. Most of the other brats were guys, but that was fine for Zoe. She wanted to prove that she could be as tough as any of ‘em. Tougher even. She became a bit of tomboy during her stay there. It never really left.
Zoe signed with the military the moment she became eligible. She served for a few years, but decided against continuing. Instead she returned to Johto, the closest thing she had to a home, and ended up joining the police force where she quickly climbed the ranks.
She’s currently considered one of the top four detectives in the region and is the youngest of the lot.
Pokemon: Pidgeot - F Persian - F Bellossom - F Arcanine - F
Name: Malcom Wilson
Age: 44
Gender: Male
Appearance:
Malcom stands at about six foot even. With dark hair that's graying rather quickly up top, and years of stress having left winkles upon wrinkles, Malcom shows his age. His dark brown eyes have lost a touch of their color, fading ever so slightly. He's got a strong jaw and keeps the stubble trimmed down on his chin.
On duty, he's wearing the standard blues. He'll unbutton the top button and loosen his tie if he's not on the streets. Even after years in the blasted thing, he still can't get used to being all contained.
Off duty, well, he's likely to be wearing slacks and a standard white button up. Average Malcom doesn't really like to push the envelope, as it were.
Personality: Malcom has always been a bit of a careful guy. He likes to take his time and consider all of his options before taking them. Unfortunately, he tends to overthink things, sometimes outright missing the obvious answer because, well, it was too simple. That doesn’t make him a bad officer by any means, but it has gotten him the nickname “Gramps”. Even Chief Stromberg calls him such despite being nearly twenty years older himself.
He is rather laid back and doesn’t let things get to him. In this business, it couldn’t hurt to hear a joke every once in a while.
Malcom’s a loyal officer, and follows the orders of his superiors rather closely. The book was written for a reason, people. He’s not a mindless machine though, and will not hesitate to take action should an innocent ends up danger.
History: Malcom was born in Saffron City to a couple that both worked for Silph Co. He had an average upbringing in a family that wasn’t really rich, but not poor either. He was an average student, had average athletic ability, and didn’t really seem to have much of an affinity for Pokemon handling. It was pretty much a foregone conclusion that he would end up working for Silph as well once he became of age.
But little average Malcom shocked his family when rather than join Silph after his schooling, he hopped the first train to Goldenrod.
He tried his hand at radio, joining the crew at the Goldenrod station, even hosting a late late night classic music program. He...didn’t quite bring in the ratings. He left the station and eventually signed up with the Johto Police force where he’s been ever since.
He’s not too ambitious about moving further up in the ranks. He’s pretty content with his current situation, and retirement doesn’t look too far off.
Just a couple more years...
Pokemon: Growlithe - F Machop - M
Name: Akio Himura
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Appearance:
Officer Humura stands at five foot ten, and has a rather lanky build. His brown hair is usually tied back in a short ponytail, wouldn’t want any of that messy hair to get in the way of his beautiful brown eyes now, do we? Bah… Akio is of fair skin, which, should one care to know, is rather soft. His hands in particular are rather pillowy.
While being forced to wear the standard blues at work, he does forgo the tie. What’s it really serve, anyway? Off duty, Akio prefers more...noisy clothing. Loud colors, odd styles, one might never suspect him of even being capable of joining the police force.
Personality: That pervert would be Akio, ladies. Try not to swoon too hard. Akio is overly confident in his abilities, his beauty, and his dance moves. He’s a terrible flirt, much to the annoyance of the woman of his department. Akio very well might be an idiot...but he gets his job done. Although he appears to never take anything serious, Akio is a rather efficient officer. He gets his work done rather quickly and on time. He never gets respect though, but if it bothers him, he hasn’t shown it. Akio’s pretty content with being a sort of clown on the force. Ladies liked funny guys, right?
The hopeless romantic doesn’t quite follow ALL of the rules...if they’re a hassle, why bother with it? He’s also rather lenient, more content with handing out warnings than actually taking too much action. Like many on the force, though, Akio wouldn’t hesitate to step in to help an innocent.
Women get top priority, though.
History: Akio is a Johto native, hailing from Violet City. His father was never around in his youth. Apparently his mother had met him one night in a bar, and what followed was a drunken one-night stand the ultimately ended up with him. But Akio’s mother wasn’t distressed by the unexpected baby. Instead, she rose to the occasion, taking on multiple jobs in order to provide the best for her son.
Akio was always a bit of a goofball in class. He never did outgrow it. He had plenty of friends, but he wasn’t exactly a shining pillar of academic success.
He tried a couple of careers after graduation. He tried to be a chef, but couldn’t cook. He tried to be a sailor, but couldn’t swim. He tried to be a doctor, but didn’t have the patience. He tried to be a policeman, but…
