Age: 48.
Appearance: Vinny stands at 5 feet and 11 inches with an athletic build, albeit hindered to some extent by his growing age. His hair is natural black which is visibly graying and his eyes are a semi-vibrant shade of hazel. He takes great pride in his beard and is religious with grooming, maintaining and styling it, but often just brushes his hair back if not tying it back all-together. He typically wears some variation of suit with a necktie most of the time.
Personality: Vinny is, in the simplest description, the product of hardship. He is a driven, no-nonsense, 'ends justify the means' kind of man with a realistic, almost pessimistic view on the world. He enjoys doing good where possible but often criticizes himself heavily for it afterwards. He values family, moments of relaxation provided he can be convinced to take one, and gardening - although he'll never admit that last one.
History: Vinny was born in northern Italy to an Italian mother and an English magus father, although he moved to England with his family whilst he was still an infant. His father, the head of the Chamberlain family at the time, went to Italy for 18 months in his studies of the families specialist albeit mostly inefficient magic, kinetic magic, where he met his to-be wife and later fathered Vinny.
The Chamberlain family were originally a family of wind mages of lesser standing in the magic association. In an attempt to increase the influence of their family and 'make them great', grandfather Chamberlain began researching mostly unexplored sub-elements of wind magic in an attempt to research and flesh a specialist stream of magic shortly before the outbreak of the first world war. He originally began with lightning magic but stumbled onto another aspect of wind magic - kinetic forces. He began researching and developing a stream of magic that focuses entirely on using kinetic forces, which study has stayed in the family since. The magic association initially took interest in the idea of kinetic magic although lost interest with the lengthy time required to produce an, at eye value, inefficient form of magic compared to some of the competitors.
Vinny was raised as the heir and only child of the Chamberlain family and was gradually given the magics family crest throughout his childhood. He trained rigorously to learn the fundamentals of magic before he was taught kinetic magic at the earliest possible stage in order to raise him into his studies and what's already been learned. His father and his grandfather had learned how to create kinetic barriers and minor eruptions of kinetic force although only within 5 feet of the caster with a relative point to cast from, which was fairly inefficient, and there was no practical way to practice this magic at this point.
A teenage Vinny was watching late-night kung fu movies when he had an epiphany - kinetic magic can only cast barriers and eruptions within 5 feet, right? What if it was used to enhance melee combat? The barriers could block all sorts of things, and the eruptions could enhance movement and strikes. His research, with the approval of his father, radically changed - he divided his focuses between magic and martial arts as opposed to a full focus on magic in order to learn and eventually create a unique style intended for use with kinetic magic.
Shortly after Vinny came of age, now complete with the magic crest, a powerplay began within the magic association. Many magus within the mages' association grew tired of great time and minimal results from the Chamberlain families research, and a family of more influence decided that they had become obsolete. After 12 years of powerplaying where Vinny fought vigorously for his family, the mages' association decreed that the research data was to be seized and given to the powerplaying family to continue. Knowing that the Chamberlain family would be effectively outcasted, alongside having a great passion for the new take on magic he was developing, a now 31-year-old Vinny took his family, alongside the knowledge they had accumulated, and fled to Italy. The Chamberlain family were soon known as the "bastards of the mages' association".
In a daring maneuver that took place in his late 30's, after completing his research into martial arts and further developing kinetic magic, Vinny returned to England with the intention of infiltrating clocktower to access the library. Now having created a new martial arts system consisting of strikes and light grapples where the magic is used to en chance and buff performance rather than a new means of offense all together, and having researched and expanded kinetic magic to allow for medium-range casting of kinetic barriers, he broke into clocktower in the dead of night and raided the libraries for anything that could help him not only make the Chamberlain family great - the dream of the family for 3 generations - but to restore their status outright. Vinny learned of the holy grail war and of the omnipotent wish granting device, the Holy Grail.
Regardless of the Holy Grail War being heavily criticized by magus, Vinny sought it out. He learned Japanese and moved to Japan, seeking out any and all signs of the wars existence and a method of entry. After years of effort, now at the concerning age of 48 and without an heir for the family, a three-piece command seal found its way onto the top of his left forearm.

Magecraft: The Chamberlain family specializes in kinetic magic, a magic focusing on the kinetic forces sub-element of wind magic. The magic itself is still in development. The magic crest in Vinny's possession permits for use of kinetic barriers and eruptions of kinetic force within 5 feet - the only practical use of this is casting it from himself to enhance melee combat. The barriers trend to act as shields for impacts, and the eruptions of energy to either enchance the power of a strike or movement in a grapple, or to enhance speed.
Vinny has researched medium-range use of the same two spells through kinetic magic, although a more formal casting is required as they are not present in the crest. This is generally used for buffing or defending another.

Non-Magecraft Related Skills: Vinny is a gifted martial artist with experience in various disciplines; he created, based off splicing together various aspects of different martial arts, a unique martial art designed around strikes and light grapples with the intention of being used with kinetic magic. He's also a talented gardener with a passion for Italian cooking using natural, home-grown ingredients, but he'll never admit it.
