"I hope to see you again, din. Take care." Agatha spoke as she prepared to go through the door. She was hoping that she had a few minutes to prepare for the fight. She slowly walked into the next room to meet her foe....
Even under the hood the "man's" surprise was evident. However if Meruin though that a single word spell was strong enough to affect him she was mistaken. "Return" he said plainly and the fireball turned back into mere words that whooshed past him harmlessly. Or so he thought, but he had miscalculated the strength of the spell and the words 'fire' were now burnt into his cloak. He looked at the lettering in slight disgust, he'd been overconfident. "I congratulate you on drawing first blood so to speak, but don't count on doing it again." The man said, with a slight hint of anger beneath his otherwise calm voice. The runes beneath his feet lit up with sudden rage glowing crimson red and the hands dancing in the air finished the runes they were weaving. Erupt. At the same the ground around Meruin in a large circle bubbled briefly, then enormous plumes of lava rose into the air all around her. She was trapped inside a cage of lava, and the lava that had shot into the air was now coming down on her head. Even now the ground beneath her was slowly heating up as unseen magma came closer, it seemed she was in quite the hot situation.
Chen smirked and flopped into one of the seats at the bar. "Do you have anything against serving minors? Because I would love a shot of whiskey or two." He put on his most charming grin and slapped a 20 dollar bill onto the table.
Kieran stared at the fairy as it patted his nose and opened the door. He was furious Enjoy being human... Take your time...
"you think i could ever enjoy this" he growled "six hundred of your years I spent trapped in this shell, enslaved, forced to watch my love suffer and fade away. denied any chance of vengeance by time. even now the binds of my enslavement still burn within me. what could i ever-" his teeth clenched as he forced him self to quiet and go through the door to face whatever was on the other side. He stopped when he realized he was in some sort of arena, looking around to find one of the students from earlier standing across from him.
Flare finally gave a sigh of relief. After all, that exhausted him mentally and emotionally the enough to make him give up. Then, he noticed the bartender brunette come. After she spoke, he returned his attention to the televisions with the other exams. He started to float, like if he was sitting into a chair, and move Undefined Fate around him. Don't live as a savior from another time... live as a savior that wishes only to live because he does..., he thought about the words. He shook his head and kept playing with Undefined Fate, yet with a scorn face. ... Who said I want to be or I'm capable to be a savior? That's something Cruz is more fit, not me. He'll save everyone., Flare kept thinking. Although, in his head, many thoughts about the same sentence were being juggled around.
@TheHangedMan Aleksandra felt as though blocking the kick was the first major victory she had throughout this who fight but the fact that she couldn't push it back posed a whole new problem since this meant that she wouldn't be able to knock it off balance but that was a problem for later as it currently wanted to smash her into paste with its fist. Before the fist connected with her Aleksanda switched out her rock elemental magic for her lightning element which boosted her speed and dodged out of the way of the fist though had got her arm clipped by the crashing fist though that didn't phase her much. Aleksandra turned and collected her flames and electricity while winding up a punch and aimed it towards the titan's hand in an attempt to at least damage it.
Apollo had seen enough. He knew a little but of the way he thought from those two moves, he layed down the pencil and stretched. He then looked at Mr.Han. His way of thinking was very unique, most unlike the others. He stood up from his chair and looked out into space. Thinking of somethings. He then looked back at Mr.Han.
"Well this was refreshing, I give up Mr.Han I've seen enough of your ability. You have a very specific way of thinking Mr.Han, I like that. Hopefully you are my teacher for one of my classes, I would enjoy that..." Apollo said as he sighed. He grabbed the door to exit the room and looked back at Mr.Han. "I hope we at least get to have one fight, at the end of the year at least, right now I'm not strong enough." Apollo walked out of the infirmary, with Ascalon in hand. He had to find a way to put this away somewhere or at least put something around it.
He sat down in the nearest seat with Ascalon next to him.
Man nodded at Apollo's refusal to continue. The game had been over, so that was expected. Despite this, he felt no pleasure from winning, as the game had been such a simple one. Man responded to Apollo's question with a simplistic solution, "During your free periods, you can always come by for chess. Don't worry if I have a class that period, it can't be a problem. I always enjoy helping people get stronger, or more intelligent. You are, after all, very promising." With that, he let Apollo leave, and sat alone in the chair.
I should go to my classroom and make sure the janitor didn't let the monsters escape again. I hate coming back to a bloody mess. Man waited a minute, stood, and opened the door. It didn't open to the room Apollo was in, though, but instead his classroom. It was a large gymnasium, with hard wood floor, and ropes hanging from the ceiling. There was a hallway that could be seen through metal doors on the opposite side from when Man stood. The door that closed behind him, which had been wood, was metal on the gymnasium side. A tad bit of magic and it didn't matter which door you used. Man opened the door that had led to the infirmary, and found himself in a large room with monsters piled up along the wall, in cages. They were all sleeping soundly, and the room was spotless. Man sighed in relief, before walking out the door, looking around his gymnasium expectantly.
Apollo sighed. There was not much going on currently. As he saw it, almost more than half the students were done. Only a couple more left and this "Exam" would be over with. Apollo stood up from his chair and began to walk around the area. He looked at Ascalon. He wanted to know how he would hide the sword. He began to concentrate on looking for a scabbard for it when it happened. The Sword's tip began to glow and at thr same time, the light spread across the sword. In a split second a scabbard appeared with the symbol of Gabriel.
Apollo sighed. Of course it was that easy. He hunged the sword on his back. He then looked around for everyone else, scanning their abilities by reading their Auras.
Meruin grimaced at the sudden influx of heat. The fact that he had been able to block the spell directed towards him was hardly a surprise, but it was still disappointing. She was a bit pleased that she'd managed to hurt him, however - it also proved that in the grand scheme of things, she could. As the plates of lava rose around her, Meruin acted quickly. Drawing runes of protection on her arms using her own blood, Meruin barreled through the falling molten earth, using her arms to shield her. She hissed slightly as she felt a bit of heat bite into her feet, and looked down to see her boots melted.
She jumped up and murmered a levitating spell, all the while drawing more runes on her arms. Eventually, her arms looked like the rolled up page of a book, and glowed like a torch. Meruin was also steadily losing more blood, evidenced by the rapid dripping of it into the ground below.
Meruin pointed a hand towards her opponent once more, the runes glowing on her more intensely.
Fire
Once again, a ball of fire shot towards the hooded man, but this time, its size and the intensity of its heat were almost tripled. The ball of heat coming towards him was nothing compared to earlier, as the ground beneath it turned black and cracked from dryness.
The void Kieran stood in connected to a starry pathway, before being bathed in blinding light. As the light
subsided, the shape of an old colliseum manifested, and Kieran stood on one side. On the other end, stood Sol. At it's very center sat a large, hulking skeleton, that held a radiant shield that shone like the sun in its right hand. He looked at Kieran with empty sockets, and nodded.
"And now, your opponent has arrived, Mr. Windblade." His hollow, echoing baritone was audible from both sides of the stone arena, despite his mouth not moving once. "The rules are quite simple: first to die, first to surrender, first to pass out, loses. You each have a time limit of twenty minutes to score a victory, and should you fail to do so, this fight will be recorded as a loss for both of you, before even entering the school."
The Skeleton clunked towards a rising throne at the side of the arena, and settled there accompanied by the sound of clanking bones. Rising from the dirt, rotting bones chattered and clanked, mimicking the roaring din of an excited crowd.
"Now, if there are no more questions: BEGIN"
Right above the Skeleton's shoulder, a small flash of light erupted. As the light died down, Fo the fairy settled on top of the Skeletons shoulder, before leaning on its head, looking relaxed. She whispered something to it, though what she said was drowned out by the roar of the lively undead crowd.
The void shaped and bent, connecting the darkness the held Agatha and Azrael. From the dark, countless, large, obsidian spires and columns rose, their purple hue glinting malevolently in the darkness. As the columns rose, Agatha and Azrael rose with them, until the pillars they stood on took them eight meters into the air.
Far below, where they once stood, the wailing sounds of tortured souls echoed. The the depths were dark and murky, with a little bit of concentration, one could make out the dark, grasping hands that tried relentlessly to scale the pillars. Their eyes shone with red tints in the darkness, and interposed with the pained moans was unrepentant and incessant laughter.
In between Azrael and Agatha floated a hooded figure, coated in the same darkness that damned the abyss beneath them. In its right hand, it held an hourglass, in its left hand, a telescope. From a the darkness of its hood, its voice came, chilling and merciless.
Fight . . . Death, Forfeit, Blackout, Victory. Fall . . . he gestured to the pit below. Both . . . Lost. He turned the hour glass, and the purple sand began sliding down, filling the bottom. 108 000* grains of sand . . . Both . . . Lose *30 minutes
The Silver Titan moaned in pain as Aleksandra's fist smashed into its hand, and quickly withdrew it. Its rage subsiding, it was slowly backing away from Aleksandra, judging her, its eyes not betraying its thoughts. In the meantime, the Golden Titan seemed to have realized that it would get nothing done if it simply stood there, and began striding towards Aleksandra, its fist raised up menacingly.
The bartender gave Ryan a scrutinizing glare, before leaning back and nodding. "I'll serve alcohol, but you're not getting anything above five percent," she declared, her tone making it apparent that there was no room to argue. "Maybe nexy year, Mr. Ryan."
The lady closed her eyes and gripped her palm closed, before flicking it open, palm facing upwards. A wide glass of foaming yellow drink sprung out from it at the same time. With a flourish, she slid it towards Ryan from across the table. "Beer for the young'un," she said, turning towards Agni. "And you?"
Seeing the look on Agni's face, Ms. Bartender flicked her hand again, and this time, a bottle of wine appeared in her hand. She skipped towards him with a thin wineglass in hand, and once she was in front of him, poured the contents of the bottle and offered it to Agni. "Listen, don't think too hard on what the Tenants - those are the beings living in the Labryinth, if you're unaware - tell you. They mean well, but they're lessons are often hard to digest by students. Don't stress out over it, but don't dismiss them either. They were your proctors for a reason."
Chen shrugged and began sipping at his alcohol. Beggars can't be choosers after all. He turned towards the tv that was showing Agatha and Azrael and smiled. He briefly considered activating The High Priestess just to analyze them but decided against it. That would make future fights boring.
Apollo walked over to one of the monitors. He saw that Agatha was about to fight someone else. He quietly wished her good luck, because she would most likely need it. He sat down on a chair and watched the fight intensly. Both of them had pretty good skills, and Apollo saw that Agatha hadnt brought out most of her power. This would set out to be an interesting match.
May your skills prove to be useful Agatha and stranger, For I see that this shall be an interesting match and thou would use your powers carefully, Depending on how this goes the first move shall prove who wins this fight. A voice said in Apollo's mind. Of course Apollo pain no attention to it. The voice was probably right though. This was also an opportunity to see how the skills of the other man and everyone else.
Kieran looked at the skeleton standing in the middle of the arena but didn't catch everything it said as his urge to sleep, kept at bay during his exam, was now back with a vengeance. It affected his actions causing him to fall to his knees and then to his side, curling up slightly and using his hands as pillows as sleep overtook him.
Sol frowned. Well this was no good, he'd been looking forward to a good fight. However they were also on a time limit so he couldn't exactly wait for his opponent to finish his nap. Sighing he thought of a relatively simple solution. "I do hope you wake up quickly." he said calmly and raised his hand concentrating for a moment. A spectral image of his hand appeared above Kieran and Sol slowly brought his hand down, the mirror image doing the same. The hand of wind slowly descended further and further down closing in on Kieran's throat, as it got closer it began vibrating rapidly like a chainsaw. The blade-hand descended upon Kieran's vulnerable neck, hitting within seconds and tearing the fragile human flesh to shreds. At least if Kieran didn't move, or his gauntlet didn't activate, both of which were rather unlikely.
Kieran had fallen into a pretty deep sleep pretty quickly. when a slight vibration began along his neck he let out a faint purr and squirmed a little. when it got more violent he quickly rolled over accidentally pushing further into it, his yelp cut short, what followed was a panic as he flailed around trying to bat away whatever was carving at his neck. However he only served to make it worse and eventually his struggling stopped and his body laid motionless on the ground.
@TheHangedMan Aleksandra watched as the silver titan backed up after she damaged its hand and began to examine her itself. Aleksa took a step towards its direction but stopped when she saw the gold titan stalking its way up to her menacingly with a raised fist. "I guess keeping you guys separate was too much to ask huh?" she asked out loud before smiling and cracking her knuckles, since she had damaged the silver titan Aleksandra felt as though she could take on the world though she was feeling a bit drained of magic. "You want to intimidate me?" she asked the golden titan "Then let's see who's scarier" at that she let her aura out and allowed it to manifest itself into what looked like the front half of a wingless dragon which roared before shrinking and fitting over her arm. Aleksandra began to take steps towards the titans as she basically radiated magical energy.
Charles woke up in his little corner of the waiting room, having a yawn. he'd look around noticing the new people who have arrived, he stretches trying to waken having been asleep a little while after he had gotten there, now having regained his stamina he stands up stretching some more "..more people have finished.. well that's good..." he rubs his arms some slighty cold for some reason and getting bit nervous because of more people all of a sudden. he pulls out one of his books and decides to take an actual seat and begin to read.
The figure frowned from under his cloak, she was faster with her spells than he thought. His ranking of her rose by the second. The man rose a hand in and placed it in front of the fireball as his puppets relentlessly made more and more spells of both defense and offense. A single red rune glowed on his hand, seemingly carved into his flesh. The fireball was sucked into the rune as though it was a vacuum. He stared at her haughtily, "What a reckless style of fighting, how much longer can you keep it up I wonder?" he asked as he watched her blood continue dripping onto the ground. Layers of protective magic were forming around him, it looked like he planned to wait her out, or else he was planning something more. Meanwhile far above runes slowly formed in the air, forming a circle around Meruin much further below, perhaps she would sense them, perhaps not.
Flare put his cards back into his pocket and opened the wine. As he poured a little of it into the wineglass, he listened to the bartender and spoke after she finished. "Easier said than done. Especially because I'm not EXACTLY from here, but I won't enter in details about that fact and I don't want to think about this test right now.", he said. The wineglass had only its bottom filled up with wine. Flare wasn't too fond of drinking, but he wouldn't refuse something that was literally given to him without any previous warning. He drank the wine, put the glass back into the table and slid it back to the bartender. "What I drank should be sufficient. I'm not fond of drinks, even if they have no alcohol in them. But thank you, in any case.", he spoke.
