@SinerathinEspurn knows that Recon and Marksmen are uncommon soldiers in the Imperium, thus most Espurn regiments are sent out to supplement larger, multi-world Guard forces. They'd have no qualms sending Caius out with the Task Force.

To be fair, I don't mind any seemingly odd composition, be it 3 priests, 3 psykers, or 3 tech-priests. If you ask me, it makes it more interesting.

I have a feeling that any technical obstacles will be the least of this squad's issue :)

Sherpa might get a little paranoid though, being one of the few members of the squad who can't speak binary!

Also, given the fact that we have 6-7 interested, and more than 3 character sheets, I can see to about getting the main thread up soon.(yes, it's happening!)

Just some quick notes:
1. @mattmanganon still needs a handler, so it'd be good if he decided to hook up with one of our tech priests or make his own handler.
2. @Blackbeard, seeing as we're starting soon, I'd like a CS A.S.A.P. :)

I'm planning on having the RP start with the group being escorted to the visitor wing of the planetary governor's palace, where they'll be briefed and organized. So you'll start the RP pretty bounced up.
You are nonetheless free to write up the backstory about how you came to the planet in the first place and were invited.

Also, just a small suggestion; seeing as we have 3 tech-priests, maybe some of your characters may have some shared backstory.

I am crying oh damn.
Well I would love to accept the offer, but you see... If I can roll with my simple mercenary character I think I will stick to that.
If I can make my charcter stay as he is (maybe a few modifications) I can accept that role. I don't want to keep you waiting by searching for another roleplayer to be your tamer, nor do I want you to burden yourself with 2 characters :D

What type of Psyker were you planning on making when this thread starts?

Well I think a Primaris Psyker would be a little too much. As legendary as this Aphelius is I doubt he could court a Primaris into his plans. How about a Wyrdvane Psyker? one who can't control his power and as such hasn't been able to complete and/or attempt to become a Primaris. I'd prefer to stray away from a Sanctioned Pysker as they would be in active duty I would assume. Maybe, if the Wrydvane isn't possible simply a retired or at least some form of exile Psyker could be plausible. Either way I'm planning on making him rather unstable as you suggested. One of those people that nobody is quite sure how tainted they could be.

EDIT: My other fancy was a Demonhunter.

@6slyboy6 I am 100% fine playing multiple characters. In fact, it would be nice being able to interact with others in anything that isn't just grunts and body language. But that being said, 1 character is fairer and makes the team a little less crowded and helps @Zetsuko.

Alright, do you have any preference on how he was created? Or would you prefer for me to write out what I had in mind and you write your bio to fit?

The Imperium pretty much has a monopoly on Psykers, and all (legal) psykers are to some extent assets of the imperium. Regardless of power level, primaris or wyrdvane, you'll probably ultimately answer to some high up imperial official like any other sanctioned psyker.
But Psykers are found in many roles, and it is not unlikely for Sherpa to requisition his own Psyker to join his task squad.

Even if you come on your own accord as a rogue psyker, this task force won't really scrutinize your backstory. Sherpa is rather pragmatic and tends to view results over method, and as a servant of the planetary governor, he likes to give the larger imperial administration the middle finger from time to time. Planetary governments like to think themselves much more sovereign & self-determinate than what they really are, especially the further and more isolate they are, and often try to push the boundries... at least until some big official comes around to whip them back.

But what about the Psyker disciplines, have you chosen which you'd like to specialize in?

It's still open. Seeing as quite a few of our assignments will be assassinations, an affiliate or agent of the Assassinarum would fit in just nicely.
You can decide yourself what kind of loadout and type of fighting your assassin will specialize in.

I'm thinking a Biomancer would be most fun. I like the idea of having some form of dangerous parallel to Nurgle. Question, how much Chaos will be in this RP? As in the task force dealing with Chaos. Obviously there wont be Chaos Marines or proper battles and the like but Cults and tainted individuals in and around chaos would be the focal point for my Psyker I imagine.

The longer we run, the more likely we are to run into chaos worshipers and daemons.

And don't underestimate the threat of chaos we could run into either. It could be everything from a rogue psyker leading a ragged band of cultists, attempting to contain a daemonic infestation aboard a frigate, to venturing through massive battlefields to fulfill a certain objective.
