Okaru was driving aimlessly through the srreets in the armored military hummer that his now dead team used to get to mission points. He was running from where he had shot his team knowing that the military would send another NT group to wipe him out. It was only protocol that if a team failed with only one survivor, that survivor was killed incase of potential infection. That was that. No questions or inspection, just one shot. He wasn't going to end like that. Okaru was going to defect and survive on his own and maybe outlasts the infection.
Okaru was weaving through the streets and running over the occasional zombie. Then the truck began to sputter and came to a halt in the middle of the road. He let out a sigh of frustration and leaned back.
> this is Execution team, HQ do you copy?
It was the CB radio he could hear the voices of the team sent to kill him.
> > this is HQ, go ahead.
> we have reached the target spot, how many were in this team?
> > there were six NT personnel, five confirmed dead from infection prevention and one survivor.
> we only have the five here their vehicle is missing and the sixth isn't here. (Sir the tracks-
> > Execution determine which way the survivor fled then pursue for 50 kliks then if not found turn back.
> (door shuts) affirmative.
> > Commander, be careful. The survivor is Okaru Miaza.
> yes sir.
"Ha." Okaru exclaimed looking at a map calculating his distane from their position. "They wont make it to me even if they tried." He determined he was stalled 65 kliks from them putting him just out of danger but if they spot this hummer they will request permission to extend their search. He thought a moment then a grin played across his face. After a few minutes of tinkering he left the hummer where it was continuing to walk the direction he was headed, out.
It was about 45 minutes of walking as he was leaving town he heard a satisfying Boom. His trap was sprung hopefully killing the entire group. He could feel the blast and looked back at the pillar of smoke rising. "Maybe should have not used all the C4."
